29 Oct 2016 22:07:23
Good to see a good perfermance today at home to killie but ill be honest it was the least I expected one game at home against a team that are piss poor and with players who once stole a wage from us not so long ago and failed to get promotion won't change the fact that we've been poor this season one game doesn't mean we have turned a corner it was good to watch though and hopefully this can be a catalyst but a 3-0 home win against that pish doesn't get MW off the hook for me.

29 Oct 2016 22:27:23
A step in the right direction is better than the alternative and it may well be the turning point of our season.

29 Oct 2016 23:13:46
That same poor team you speak of was the exact same team, to a man, that beat Hearts 2-0 at Tynecastle.

It's the league that is completely poor and the only decent teams in it are ourselves and the other lot from Glesga and I don't mean Thistle. The rest are complete dross.

Our "shocking", start to the season has left us in 2nd place out right. Not too shabby considering it was as if we were fighting off relegation, the way some were acting this week.

30 Oct 2016 00:14:16
Thorn76

Please don't lower yourself to the playground banter of we beat this team who beat them so were tbe champions nonsence I agree the league is poor and what effing sickens me is we are fighting and dropping points against these teams that you call "poor" and " dross" are the teams were dropping points against never in my life have I ever seen us so far behind celtic in every aspect of football on and off the pitch and I can't see this changing and as hard as it is too accept and I never will is we are now a team that is fighying to be the best of the rest and altho we sit 2nd were making very effing hard work of it so far all I hear from my celtic mates is for every fiver and you know what its breaking my heart because I can't see us challenging celtic for a very very long time and I can't accept bein second best to that mob and fellow bears getting hard over a 3-0 home win against killie and celebrating being 2nd is destroying me.

30 Oct 2016 00:15:25
And the killiegame wasnt at tynecastle either thorn it was rugby park.

30 Oct 2016 00:42:56
We shouldn't be dropping points against those teams, completely agreed.

That will hopefully change after beating Kilmarnock today, some suggest it was best performance since Scottish Cup SF. The reason that "playground banter" is mentioned is because that's really all you really have to go on. A team is really only as good as there last game.

You can analyse playing styles, shots on target, whether they play counter attack, whether they put 10 men behind the ball and so on, it's a results business and they managed to get a result that our fans would be happy to get against Hearts days before they played us.

Would ask you a question sly, does it not irritate you that were going into games like Hearts and Aberdeen and maybe even St Johnstone away from home and fans are saying "I'd take a point here", does my head in when fans expectations are such as they are.

30 Oct 2016 00:30:19
@slydog - so you've never seen us as far away from Celtic? Did you only start following Rangers this season because we've been in a far worse position these past 4 years. To blame MW for all our woes is a tad extreme in my opinion.

30 Oct 2016 01:24:36
Slydog your being a right downer man wheres the postivity get behind your team and keep your head up that's what a real fan does.

30 Oct 2016 09:01:56
Surely the manager is exactly where the blame stops? He picks the players , he decides which players he want's , he trained the players all week, he sets out the tactics and he should be responsible for results good or bad . It's a sad indictment that ross county and the sheep created much more against us and gave us harder games than your team, but I'm glad your happy with that I know I am 😉.

30 Oct 2016 09:29:29
A defeat or draw in our next game could see us slip down to 4th or 5th so it's difficult to get too excited about being 2nd. Thought Kilmarnock were the worst team I've seen this season not surprising Celtic took 6 off them and Aberdeen took 4.

30 Oct 2016 10:14:45
Some people are never happy. Great result yesterday. Great atmosphere. Great way of remembering our fallen heroes on Poppy Day at ibrox. More of that please.

30 Oct 2016 10:16:40
Slydog. Thank god you weren't around when Celtic won the European cup and nine in a row . That was a hard time for a gers fan I can assure you once we get retail side sorted and mw can take Rodgers on in a fair fight you'll see the difference then.

30 Oct 2016 12:24:46
Aye biffo, whits way you? If, if and ands were pots and pans! Honestly you crack me up! Why do you follow rangers mate? If I felt like you i'd follow hockey or something!

29 Oct 2016 21:23:31
What a difference a game makes guys, happy but raging at the same time because I was driving on the M6 for the whole fecking game!

29 Oct 2016 23:23:43
Good performance and result. Great to see MOH get a run and praise, really hope his confidence is up and goes on a run. Good to see Garner and Windass also settling in. Improved financial results and a good win, very early days but feels slightly better.

30 Oct 2016 13:18:01
Rafbob some might say driving on the M6 is more entertaining lol.

29 Oct 2016 19:25:37
To all the MOH doubters ie. he doesn't have it, he's a poor footballer who doesn't lift his head, he contributes nothing etc. Well that's 2 starts and 2 motm performances, not bad for a guy who hasn't had a start all season! All i've stated on here until i'm blue in the face is when he's given a fair run of games in the team then judge him. Everyone knows on here that i'm a big fan of michael and always have been. Trust me he'll be a big asset to rangers and he's by far the most direct player we have. Well done moh, i've always believed in you!

29 Oct 2016 19:49:24
U must be in your element Supercoop 😂👍his pace definitely is an assett and he does offer us something different but i do agree he could be doing with having a little more composure but must say he's made a difference these last 2 games.

29 Oct 2016 20:22:30
I remember Bert konterman having good games but did not make him a good player.

29 Oct 2016 20:29:11
He certainly has played well however he will need to perform against the better teams before anyone can say he is a success. His final ball isn't the best however his pace and directness has made a considerable difference to the dynamic of the team.

29 Oct 2016 20:31:55
BossHogg have you ever posted anything positive about Rangers?

29 Oct 2016 20:40:34
I can't ever remember bombscare ever having a good game. i can remember him scoring a cracking goal right enuf.

29 Oct 2016 20:52:00
I think he hit a good patch of form that lasted about 5 games bluedie lol, your right tho that goal was all that was needed that was my first old firm game just a pup there wae my dad good memories.

29 Oct 2016 21:31:37
That makes me feel old Bigblue saying you were only a pup at that game lol😂👍.

29 Oct 2016 21:37:48
he's a descent player, and it's good to have a player like him as an option because theirs not many like him!

29 Oct 2016 21:49:34
I don't know if I'm more made up for MOH or Warb15 (supercoop), you started to sound like his dad the amount of times you were defending his style and input.

Glad you were proved right about his pace, I agree with some other posts saying he needs to show that he can perform against a higher level of opponents.

As long as he gets more time on the pitch I am sure he will continue to impress.

29 Oct 2016 22:01:08
Bluedie

Yeah Bertie was awful however have you ever seen a sweeter strike at Hampden than big Berties!

29 Oct 2016 22:38:14
Rafbob, i know members of the o'halloran family mate and know how hard michael junior wants to be a big success at rangers and works very hard in training. So pleased for him to at last get a start and to show the bears what he can do for us. He's a very clean living guy with a superb attitude and very dedicated to training and his football in general! So I do have a soft spot for moh.

29 Oct 2016 22:54:37
Supercoop,

If he does as well as you say he is striving for then we'll do alright in that position.

I watched a 4min odd highlights clip on YouTube of today's game and it was clear that he was putting a lot of balls in and around the box, he needs a goal for his effort.

29 Oct 2016 22:59:00
he's fecking solid aswell. proper athlete.

30 Oct 2016 00:06:53
MOH a definite threat out wide. Great to see him getting a couple of starts. Badly needed and great for his confidence I would imagine. Sitting 2nd after such a poor start! Proves how poor the league actually is. A few days ago it's a disaster and now it seems sweeter. Still miles behind the Manky Mob but the rest should be worried once we get a wee run going.

30 Oct 2016 09:05:16
It will take some beating Biffo 👍.

29 Oct 2016 16:57:30
I don't have one bad word to say about that game, well all round performance and O'Halloran once again proving his worth, second spot is ours now, onwards and upwards, i'm so glad O'Halloran has been finally given his chance, he's like a new signing and every time he got the ball i got excited, same goes for windass! Two really good players.

29 Oct 2016 17:06:43
Delighted with today's performance, much better, good to see o, halloran get another chance and he certainly took his chance, happy bear.
On to the results from our accounts,100g Rangers got from sports direct for our merchandise is a bloody disgrace, until we can get rid of Ashley we will continue to lose money and that will keep holding the club back, we must get rid of him asap but his bloody deal is watertight or he would have been gone ages ago.

29 Oct 2016 17:18:29
Exactly delboy, if we had merchandise we would be sitting pretty right now, the fans have been fantastic, we would definitely have got right behind the team and snapped up so much kit, the fat man has to go.

29 Oct 2016 17:53:00
How much do you think we would making in profit frombproper retail deal?

29 Oct 2016 18:19:34
So refreshing to see a player attack the byeline like O'halloran did today- And the midfield of Holt Halliday and Windass can be industrious, and fruitful -Windass is showing to the fans how much of an addition he can be to our club - happy football that's, what it is - 3 goals, 3 points and a clean sheet - today was a vast improvement. -.

29 Oct 2016 19:02:00
dont want to sound like a smart a. s (well maybe i do) but have said for yonks that mckay is a luxury and other than couple of cracking goals has been a passenger who does not want to know 50/ 50's, ie craps it, also have said without doubt windass is far and away our most direct player, wonderful to see someone who wants to go forward constantly, and moh so much more to offer than mckay.

29 Oct 2016 19:28:27
Rangeken. Miller played mackay's position today not o'halleran or windass. What's your point caller? Btw, agree both were excellent today, as was Miller, but blaming it all on a guy that doesn't normally play in either of their positions (who did more in 20mins on wednesday than windass did in 70 unless you're blinkered) makes no sense to me whatsoever. I just don't get the constant abuse the lad gets, the boy's a talent.

29 Oct 2016 19:28:54
There was actually a lad on here a couple of weeks ago that wanted to sell MOH back to st Johnstone in January. Hahaha

That's been my only criticism of MW, not giving these lads a chance. But now he has. Thankfully he's seen sense and benched McKay and Waghorn. Now all he needs to do is give Dodoo a run of games and bench Miller and I'll be happy.

29 Oct 2016 20:16:21
Spart7,who was talking about who played in what position, irrelevant to saying he is not as big an asset as others, and please watch every 50/ 50 tackle he is involved in. Call it abuse if you like but to me it is a response to those who believe he is some kind of star.

29 Oct 2016 21:15:28
i said at the start of season Barry at to prove himself in the top league. And got shot down for being negative the boy is a first division player till he proves otherwise .

29 Oct 2016 21:38:46
he's been playing ok, but like the rest of our team he's not standing out. it's unfair just to pick him out especially when he's so young. he's in a team full of players playing absolutely gash.

29 Oct 2016 21:53:07
Aye blame Barrie McKay for the start to the season as well as 9/ 11, JFK, Brexit and the frigging recession. The lad is still young with a lot to learn and finding his feet at a higher level. The constant vilification of him by some on here is frankly shocking. Technically he is one of the most gifted players at the club. Aye he needs to stick in and with a bit of encouragement he will get there, of that I have no doubt. The last thing we should be doing is hounding a brilliant young player out of the club because I fear that if we continue to do so that's exactly what will happen. Rant over. And one more thing - well done today to MOH. I am a fan and would love to see him AND Barrie McKay play regularly in this team.

29 Oct 2016 22:24:12
Barry Mackay came on on Wednesday into a team that was playing pretty poorly and added instantly a bit of composure and no end of class. Give the boys a break lads and a bit of encouragement please.

29 Oct 2016 22:49:22
I totally agree with you seeker. barrie mckay is a tremendous young player, who without doubt, still has a bit to learn and will do! He does seem to get the brunt of the criticism on here, when the whole team play poorly. I would truly love to see a front 3 of moh (right), garner (centre) and mckay (left) . Think of the pace we'd have on the flanks with moh and mckay who'd be supplying garner. Hand on heart, i honestly think moh and mckay are capable of tearing teams apart!

30 Oct 2016 02:15:06
Fair point re 50/ 50 tackles rangeken but tbf my 11yo is bigger than him and that's not what he's on the pitch for. Who has made the most assists in the team this year? Who played two killer balls in five minutes the other night that noone else in the team could've pulled off in terms of initial vision and then execution? He also has the best first touch in the squad and great close control, two things o'halloran could improve on considerably for example and that's not me having a pop at him btw. I coach kids football and I would have mckay in my team all day long before I'd have the clugger he ducked out of the header with the other night. My point was mainly that it wasn't that we played better because he wasn't in the team, as you're implying, we played better because o'halloran, garner and windass (in different positions to mackay's) were and played to form. Mackay is one of our best players, he'd compliment the others mentioned above even further imo.

30 Oct 2016 05:53:02
A few points that I took from the game:
MoH - What a threat. Give him a few metres and he left them for dead every time. Looked more controlled on the ball and it's a shame he couldn't score!
Windass - really like this kid. Actually takes a shot given half a chance which a few players seemed to do today.
Defense - Not got a single mention so far! But both Kiernan and Hill were like a brick wall and Tavs looked like a man with a point to prove after being dropped last week.
Garner - Great he got that goal after the lads on Rangers TV were saying he wasn't a poacher. What a nuisance he makes of himself!
Miller - he was everywhere! Love watching this man play. Had no idea what position he was supposed to be in most of the time.

My last point is about Mckay - Boys got talent to burn. But is he a winger? Do we see him being used in a more creative midfield role when he bulks up a bit?

30 Oct 2016 10:21:39
When I say McKay needs benched, I'm not blaming him for our poor performances or poor start to season or questioning his ability. Stop exaggerating. He's been poor and slow average so he needs benched until he gets better. Simple. It's not fair to keep him in the team when he's not performing, especially when there are other players that deserve a chance. It's not just McKay. Waghorn was another not performing. Yesterday was proof of that.

30 Oct 2016 13:49:11
I agree mate I do like mckay hoping it's just a rough patch for him! He's not a young player anymore tho he's what 22? Should be playing to a higher level but like I said hopefully a wee rest will do him good and he can get back to last seasons form.

29 Oct 2016 15:55:29
Moh has done more 8n 45 mins than mackay all season. mw starting to relise now i think leaving out waghorn an mackay. we look more dangerous and capable of scoring now. holt and windass starters for me in mid. would like to see crooks bit more now see what he made of. still believing (just) but todays lineup showing mw willing to change and players not let him down so far.

29 Oct 2016 18:18:52
Well done today credit where it's due warbs see what happens when we go our and attack teams,! Gon to get pished now a happy bear.

One thing the accounts clearly show is that King has put money into the club in the past year.
A run in Europe and increased sponsorship should put us on the road to recovery as long as we keep a lid on players wages.

29 Oct 2016 08:50:20
What page did it show that?

29 Oct 2016 09:05:34
Boss,
It's in note 30.

£4.5 million through his New Oasis Asset Limited vehicle.

29 Oct 2016 09:12:42
The club is improving financially and you still don't see that King is part of that?

29 Oct 2016 10:40:44
Cheers Stephen.

@rafbob - how are we improving financially when our debt will rise another 3.75 million this season? You remind me of the government who never talk about the 1.5 trillion debt, they just say we are reducing the deficit. This just means they are slowing the rate at which debt is rising but most people think they are sorting the debt.

29 Oct 2016 11:31:47
So do these massively encouraging figures mean we can now attract a nomad and get a listing on a stock exchange?

Do they mean we can now gain access to further banking facilities?

Answers - No and no again.

29 Oct 2016 12:05:26
Naz get a grip. They mean we have started to turn the corner and recovering from the worst period in our proud history. Also means we have a Board and Leadership team that are addressing issues and making progress.

- Revenue up 36%
- Cost down 7%
- Loss reduced to £3m
- Loans stand at £10m

Still a long way to go and as we know many areas requiring attention and being worked on.

29 Oct 2016 12:15:46
Loans don't stand at 10 million, this is just 3rd party loans and do not include the soft loans from the directors. As I said in a different thread, these accounts seem like a PR exercise and I expect the full accounts issued in March 2017 to paint a different picture.

29 Oct 2016 14:40:38
Wait for next years a/ c s when all the big signings are included,

29 Oct 2016 14:41:36
naz we do need a nomad shares can be traded without any difficulty and why do we need a different bank with the directors providing interest free loans the only thing we really need is better results on the pitch and the debacle with barton brought to aswift conclusion and a deal done over how much of his contract is to be paid up in faact one of the things that has dissapointed me this season is the pailure of management to curtail bartons social media comments which would have averted the situation we find ourselves in.

29 Oct 2016 08:18:32

29 Oct 2016 07:28:17
It would be nice to see a front three of MOH, Miller and Dodoo today. All can play wide or central and can change over randomly during the game. Miller holds ball up well and with speed of other two they can run off him and get the goals we need. Garner is a menace but does not give anything else. McKay and Waghorn are short in confidence and need to regain some hunger or have they found there levels.

29 Oct 2016 08:16:55
would prefer moh garner dodoo, we need someone in the box. did you see what was said after garners header? he had been asking for weeks for someone to cross the ball in.

dodoo was woeful when he came on against celtic so he must improve.

29 Oct 2016 08:16:55

29 Oct 2016 10:25:31
It looked to me that Dodoo didn't fancy the physical nature of last weeks game.

29 Oct 2016 10:50:06
Would like to see dodoo get a good run of games as striker was he not an out and out striker before he signed for us? .

29 Oct 2016 06:26:08
Stats don't lie. We can all have opinions and agree to disagree and we're accused of being too demanding but played 10, scored 12 and conceded 12 is shocking. Even if you take the Celtic game out it's still bad. Okay we've won 4 out of 10 and some could argue it could be worse but I'm of the opinion that we're dead right to be unhappy. The argument that we'd be 2nd if we'd got 3 points on Wednesday doesn't cut it. I'll go by the wins to date and score us 4 out of 10. No pass mark there.

29 Oct 2016 08:42:22
When you also consider that we are supposed to be an attacking team, they stats are absolutely shocking, hopefully we can start today against killie and get a decent run going because we just haven't got started properly this season yet, to much chopping and changing through injuries or one reason or another.

29 Oct 2016 19:33:01
Stats shmats. 2nd in the league. Onwards and upwards.
