I'll throw Michael Laudrop in the hat. Unsure if anyone's mentioned him but he did decent job at Swansea.

30 Oct 2017 08:05:52
What about Steve Clarke, I know he's only just joined killie but that means nowt

29 Oct 2017 22:06:44
anyone else notice the 2 best away performances . holt is in their with either dorrans or jack. u think they 2 can't play together.

30 Oct 2017 06:48:15
No hendy250,i've no doubt dorrans and jack can play together! The problem was that pedro was playing dorrans out of position, as a defensive mid! Doza's an attacking midfielder all day long, a no.10 if you like! I'm a big fan of holt and he should be in our midfield with dorrans and jack, with the invisible man, josh windass, dropping out!

29 Oct 2017 20:14:14
Davy moyes is the man to take us forward just look beyond him playing for them he's one of us.

29 Oct 2017 22:02:55
He's a shocking manager his stock is going down by the minute

30 Oct 2017 06:19:15
What has moyes actually done? He's been rank rotten everywhere bar Everton where he wasn't exactly brilliant

30 Oct 2017 08:35:56
Royster

He did do a good job at Preston

30 Oct 2017 09:20:27
He’s only seen Rangers play dos, tres, quatro times.

29 Oct 2017 16:53:12
Bears I know some will slaughter me for this but I think it’s time for big eck he will steady the ship get us defending well and build from the back mite not be the best brand of football but I think it’s our best chance to close the gap on celtic for the time being Michel Preud'hommes sounds goo but he would just be an other experiment and we can’t afford that right now big Eck is the man if not give Murty his chance and see how he goes but I definitely don’t fancy going down the foreign route again

29 Oct 2017 18:03:45
Oh, please. All the best to big eck, but he is yesterday's man as far as managing us goes. I would go with Murty but if not, he should definitely be working with the 1st team in some capacity. You'd need to be blind to not see the positive effect he has on individual players, and the team unit as a whole

30 Oct 2017 09:12:22
Big Ecks not the worse shout but i think his time has been mate. i'm not keen on another foreign gamble either.

29 Oct 2017 14:28:58
From what I watched yesterday we have reasons to be optimistic. We didn’t play brilliant but got a good result and confidence can grow from here. We need to build momentum and with 2 home games and a trip to Dundee coming up and players returning from injury/ suspension then we have a chance of putting a run together. It will be interesting to see what the table looks like if we can do this and with Celtic likely to be in Europe after Christmas then you never know what can happen. Whoever gets the managers job needs to galvanise and organise the squad of players exactly like Walter did in 2007. I have seen some crazy stuff in the press today from the Sunday columnists, it’s pathetic. You would think we were 7th in the league, 15+ Pts adrift and with a squad at war! The way the boys celebrated Millers 2nd it’s clear they are united, I’m sure many of them won’t be sad to see Pedro gone and the new manager has a decent squad left IMO for the level of opposition and targets for this season which remain 2nd spot and hopefully a cup win! Hi

We will need to improve the squad for a crack at Europe that’s for sure but Rome wasn’t built in a day and my overriding feeling from an eventful 7 days is relief! The season finally kick started for us yesterday! Come on

29 Oct 2017 18:07:47
Terrific post wee_bear! Very well put together pal! I'm in total agreement with everything you state!

29 Oct 2017 18:13:38
I honestly think graeme murty has proved he can galvanise the players! The players most definitely respond to him and importantly want to play and go through brick walls for him! Just listening to murts, he seems to be a very good man manager who is also tactically astute! Being totally honest here fellow bears, if it was down to a straight choice between graeme murty and derek mcinnes, to be our next permanent manager, i'd have murty hands down!

30 Oct 2017 09:09:42
Good post mate but i genuinley think we need at least 2 players with genuine quality and the rest of the boys pick up abit aswell. we’ve got to b realistic and realize we’re not going to get 6 or 7 exceptional players for the money we’re spending but a fully fit squad and 2 or 3 players that can make a difference then we won't b far off.

30 Oct 2017 09:18:28
So would I Coops but I'd rather McLeish than both of them

29 Oct 2017 11:03:09
Great performance, especially second half. Thought Morelos work rate was excellent the whole game. The midfield were first to every ball, Tav was excellent going forward and McCrorie was a standout. As for Miller, 2 goals and led by example. Credit to Murray and the players. Finally something positive to talk about.

29 Oct 2017 23:24:47
thank goodness someone else has at last something positive to say about tavernier,

29 Oct 2017 10:56:40
It was really good yesterday to watch especially the 2nd half in particular the Scottish players playing with freedom and grit, the boy McCrorie is a REAL player who i hope to God we have signed on a long term contract as it will not be to long if he continues to play like that several English PL teams will come sniffing about, thought Holt and of course Miller were superb, it was very refreshing watching and listening to Murty, straight talking backed up with a lot of sense, and just a quick note that was the best atmosphere i have been at for many a yesr, the bears were in great voice and when Miller went off the field the standing ovation he received was superb and very well deserved.
Now over to Dave and his board, the team did their part, Murty did his and the support did theirs now Get it right and we can all move forward together.

29 Oct 2017 11:40:59
Well said 72Coop. Spot on.

30 Oct 2017 08:59:26
Yip 72coop, spot on. I thought every player was brilliant, the fight was great. I have gave holt pelters but I thought he was class.

29 Oct 2017 10:26:26
There is intense speculation about the new manager, whether it be McInnes, Wright or perhaps Numan. It's staring us in the face. Murty did a fantastic job as interim manager last time and now he's led us to 3 points against Hearts. Under Pedro, they never would have come back to win. Murty is articulate, eloquent, has a great rapport with the players and fans. It's a no-brainer; he should be our next permanent coach.

29 Oct 2017 13:00:16
Fantastic job last time?
Managed a result against them, end of.
Yesterday we should have been 2 down against a poor hearts team and got lucky.

Yes Murty talks well and seems a nice guy, but Rangers Manager? Hell no.

29 Oct 2017 14:15:19
Yeah don't think Murty is ready to be Rangers manager. Doing a good job as a coach and I'd get him in to coach the senior players with the new manager.

30 Oct 2017 09:05:30
Could work but could you imagine if it didn’t and they’ve taken a big risk again, and the Daily Record starts it’s vicious unprofessional addenda again. it won’t happen

29 Oct 2017 10:20:47
I had originally thought that McInnes should be the next manager but I have a think about this.

Take this Michel Preud'Homme as manager and Graeme Murty as his No.2 with a view to him taking over a few years down the line.

Any thought's guys.

29 Oct 2017 16:12:01
Nurturing does a great job, and beyond anything expected of him. He would not have applied for the job though, he is a modest coach happy in his present role.
To be respected.

30 Oct 2017 09:04:37
Nah mate. I've got loads of respect for Murty but for me i think its got to be a Brittish type manager. nothing against the Belgium guy as i don't know anything abt him but we’d be mad to go for another foreigner

30 Oct 2017 09:22:25
Murty is only interested in the youngsters and coaching them.

29 Oct 2017 09:27:51
Out of all the name mentioned for our new managers position i think by far Michael Preudhomme is the most outstanding candidate. Of the ones we know of that is. He is a belgian pro leave winner twice, belgian cup winner twice, belgian super cup winner, saudi league winner, he has also won trophies in holland. Voted Manager of the year 3 times in belgium and once in saudi league. He has a56% win rate which is almost 10% better than derek mcinnis.
Does anyone else think Preudhomme is worth a shot?
I do!

29 Oct 2017 09:59:54
I was under the impression that the board had stated they were looking for a British manager? Maybe this was from an unreliable source?

Anyway, welcome back Kenny Miller. Predicted on here that he'd still be at Ibrox once Caxinha was gone and delighted that he is.

29 Oct 2017 10:21:12
The interesting thing about Preudhomme, (as well as an impressive cv as a player and manager ) would be his knowledge of players across europe, particulary Belgium where they have an exceptional youth set up. He has also managed in Holland. My initial thoughts have been we need someone to steady the ship- McInnes, Murty etc could do this, however and it may take some time- a manager of Preudhomme's stature may take the team and entire Club to a whole new level . will fans and Scottish football give someone like that the patience and time?

29 Oct 2017 13:57:24
Ilike the look of his cv apart from one thing. He moved around a lot?
Not sure why that was but, he was still a success at all his clubs.
Plus he really seems keep on this job which is always a good sign

29 Oct 2017 17:55:33
According to Sky sports he's not a contender so I'm guessing McInnes now.

30 Oct 2017 08:55:02
By far! Why? You read his name in today's paper being linked to us, and boom, you're all over it! What makes this guy the best pick from the names thrown in the hat so far? Do You have some sort of specialist knowledge on him and the Belgian league? Or, as I expect, you have jumped all over it because he is a European manager who you believe can inject some sort of footballing philosophy in to us uneducated bufoons! Give me strength man, and chill.

29 Oct 2017 09:11:43
We will beat Celtic this season. x.

29 Oct 2017 19:12:44
Will ye aye!

29 Oct 2017 08:18:32
To all the Derek Mc Innes backers.

A word of caution. when he was sacked by Bristol City in 2012/ 13 he had achieved a record of six wins out of 26, with Bristol City suffering defeats in both the English League Cup and FA Cup at the first and third rounds respectively ie the first point of entry for the Robins into these tournaments.
When Mc Innes was recently being interviewed for the Sunderland job the Bristol Evening Post asked Bristol City fans what they thought.

'Had no idea what side to pick. Tactically inept. Was out of his depth. Will struggle at Sunderland too. ' was the feedback.

Sure he's had a further period to be learning his craft at Aberdeen and there have been managers who have suffered a sacking to go on to success at a subsequent club.

But let's just say. I have big doubts re his seeming being in pole position to get the Rangers job.

29 Oct 2017 08:51:33
I agree his record against celtic is terrible. I'd have murty before him he came in and over a 4 week period changed the way the team performed that we got a draw at the piggery, so one game against them and unbeaten I'd give him the rest of the season

29 Oct 2017 09:10:51
To be fair when he took over Bristol City he had to sell most of the squad due to finances then had very little money to rebuild so the problems they had were not all down to him. He’s done a great job with the Dons and surely deserves a crack at Rangers

29 Oct 2017 09:25:27
Pepole need to remember when new manager comes they always bring there gang with them. murty has done fantastic when he was temp 1st time and with youths etc but who is to say next person in wants to keep him? I think king n co should give murty to new year see how he goes an maybe offer him full position as manager if all goes good for him

29 Oct 2017 12:24:33
Put it this way, if it was between graeme murty or derek mcinnes, to be the next permanent rangers manager, my choice would most definitely be graeme murty! Simple as that! I said all along and even before pedro lost his job, that mcinnes would be nowhere near my choice to take over and become our new manager! There's much better than him that we should be moving for!

30 Oct 2017 09:23:05
Why do people keep saying Murty? he doesn't want the job it's getting embarrassing now.

29 Oct 2017 08:15:01
Really don't think mcinness is the answer. Yes he made Aberdeen the 2nd best team in spl in Rangers absence and won a cup. Is that good enough now to be Rangers manager? I think to be Rangers class you need to have won leagues, cups and have experience in europ. The belgium guy Homme seems like a good shout if we can get him.

29 Oct 2017 08:59:51
Alex Mcleish hasn’t won a major trophy before he got the Job and went on to win the treble

29 Oct 2017 19:23:26
Same with walter but my point is we can't afford to take risks we need a manager with a proven track record to clean up the mess of two failed risky managers

29 Oct 2017 07:48:58
Hello all this is my first post so please be gentle haha. Everywere i look people are talking about EPL managers or foreigners why not give Murty the chance or if they are going for McInnes then Murty as no 2. Forgive me if I am wrong but Sir Walter hadn't had a lot of managerial experience before coming as no2.

29 Oct 2017 07:57:59
I really like murty and the way he works if we can get the manager right then having murty well respected as development manager won't be a bad thing, my issue would be if a new manager came in and change the whole staff, I'd imagine especially big sam with his 15 staff would, if we can nail the manager and have murty with the youths it could be a great set up, i'm not going to lie i just wouldn't spend the money on sam and his 15 staff, i like macinnes and think he would do well, prople are expecting miracles overnight, but i think if we get it right quick the way celtic are dropping stupid points we could be in with a shout if we get consistency, celtic as long as there involved in europe are changing there team for domestic and have shown to be inconsistent against lower teams, we could really take advantage of that if we get it right

29 Oct 2017 08:02:48
Agree but we can't afford to take any risks this time needs to be an experienced operator to sort the mess out

29 Oct 2017 07:45:09
I’ve got a feeling Alan pardew will be the next boss no garage forecourt rumour just a feeling from me I dunno how happy fans would be if this was to happen though comes with baggage i. e discipline, managerial record and links to Newcastle owner what do you guys think if this was to happen

29 Oct 2017 09:16:00
Personally I think he would be a disaster! He has publicly slated scottish football and his record is pretty poor really. He seems to have one good season with teams then they just fall apart.

29 Oct 2017 07:25:54
Good morning to everyone. Obviously delighted with the result. Windy - poo has just not done enough over the piece for me. 1 goal yesterday does not guarantee his place. AM put in a shift and how results could have so much different if KM had been in the side? With Celtic drawing and Motherwell being beaten it turned out to be a good Saturday. I hear Homme, the Belgian is very keen on the job and has spoken to the board. He may be foreign, but his record with clubs domestically and European is very impressive. Clearly very well respected internationally, I would be more than happy to have him.

Thomas Lemar

29 Oct 2017 06:12:04
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new player profile about, Thomas Lemar

29 Oct 2017 05:19:26
I have been reading this site for a long time and have never posted anything, so apologies if I'm long winded but just wanted to say I'm very disappointed we sacked Pedro. I've been living down under for a while so obviously don't see as many games these days but thought we were on the right track. I expect to be shot down because i know we were embarrassed in Europe, to put it mildly! and not winning 3 games in a row In 7 months looks shocking on paper but realistically wasn't his team last year (and we all know how bad they were) . I thought Rangers were moving forward and to sack a manager in October is something I would not expect of a club with such great tradition, I read posts here everyday and maybe it's because I'm not in Scotland I maybe see it from a different perspective but I would have liked to see what would have happened if he was given a bit of time, I think Scottish football needs some new ideas but progress doesn't happen overnight so going forward I would look to another foreign manager and I hope whoever he is, he is given a minimum of one or two seasons (can't help thinking Sir Alex at man utd, because Its common knowledge they were about to give him his jotters) . Pedro got 10 league games ( this season ) and then got booted! WTF. I read a lot on here about certain players he signed not setting the heather on fire but over the decades a a lot of great players didn't hit the ground running. Anyways, opinions, everybody's got one! . Coming home for Christmas so a ticket for old firm game would be pretty special (gold dust I know)

Good luck to Pedro, shame it didn't work out. Quite liked the guy, sounds like he got a tough time in the goldfish bowl with various 'experts' talking too much.

We are the people.

Keep up the good work Ed.

29 Oct 2017 07:21:26
Totally entitled to your own opinion but for me he wasn't sacked quick enough. He was blatantly lying to the fans about Kenny Miller being injured and now Danny Wilson says he has been fit for months yet Pedro claimed he was also injured.
Cant help think he had an issue with the Scottish guys in the dressing room. The guy spoke in riddles and you can try bamboozle us with chat of methodology but the fact is he never won three games in a row. Not good enough. We need stability not another experiment, that's why I'm backing mcinness for the job, he'll get us going in the right direction.

29 Oct 2017 02:49:21
Was interested to hear Danny Wilson's post match interview. He cleary stated he had been fit for the last few months. I was under the impression he was injured according to Pedro's pressers. Was he another senior Scottish player being treated to the Portuguese cold shoulder? Am personally glad the tenure is over and the bull will stop. onwards and upwards.

29 Oct 2017 08:39:26
Couldn’t care if Wilson was fit fir 6 years he’s not Rangers class, Pedro was doing Us a favour there.

I have mixed emotions about Pedro, yeah not winning 3 games in a row he’s got to go but he was trying to play a better football style for us to watch. I would have given him to 31st of Dec, then new manager if results weren’t good enough had nearly a month with the squad before our next game.

Don’t know who I want but def not Murty he’s still learning the game that’s why we got rid of Pedro. We need a manager with a win ratio of 65%+ in a European league with credibility.

29 Oct 2017 08:54:59
Murty got a result at the midden with a far weaker squad than Pedro had. still learning the game? What utter b@###cks you talk. So you want a European manager with no experience of the spfl? Mmm. Sounds familiar, sparky

29 Oct 2017 09:37:12
Spot on Riffy! Murty has shown more class, knowledge and an tatical understanding of the team and how it should be set up in the league than PC, and Warburton for that fact, ever did. What is this big clamour for a European manager? 3 European managers in the last 19 years with 2 major flops. And for all of the millions at his disposal, wee Dick never got us through to the next stage in the champs league. Yeah, we played some great football but it wasn't good enough! Those nights are a very distant memory now! Right now we need a manager who will come in and get our team playing a style of football which spl teams will find hard to beat and inject some steel into a team of underachieving softies. What we can't ever do again is pull a nobody from total obscurity and hand him a near £10 million transfer kitty to pi*s up a wall. If lessons are not taken on-board from this farce then the game's a bogey!

29 Oct 2017 01:15:43
Anyone think Redknapp would be interested or is he past it?
