Anybody else see the Arsenal game tonight and notice the importance of Cambiasso sitting just in front of the two Olympiakos centre backs? With the possible exception of wee Alexis Sanchez I thought he was the most influential man on the pitch and is exactly The type of player to greatly improve our defensive set up.

Vastly experienced and calmness personified, can't help but feeling it's the role Warburton had in mind for Eustace in his Rangers team.

I think people should stop mentioning Eustace it looks highly unlikely he will be offered a playing contract. No point in signing a 35 year old with a bad knee injury

30 Sep 2015 08:55:47
Biffo the point is not about Eustace in particular, more the importance of having somebody with that experience and influence on the defence. Not saying we're going to go out and get somebody of Cambiasso's quality but I think it's an area of the team that's going to need addressed as we move on.

I agree we shouldn't be thinking of offering contracts to players with injuries, God knows we've been lumbered with that enough in the past. I just thought after watching that game last night the boy showed how invaluable that type of player can be.

I told you we should have signed him when he was a free agent ed. Haha ;)

Ok so it's a few days before we get to watch the Mighty Gers again. So in the interest of passing the time I have a question.

Of the opposition we have faced in the Championship which players have stood out for you? I don't really think we should be looking at buying any of them but if we were to take anyone on, who would you pick?

29 Sep 2015 16:24:19
I liked the boy Gibson at Dumbarton.

29 Sep 2015 15:49:57
Bluegenius : I am only going by what I have seen on TV, but I haven't been particularly impressed with any of the opposition.

29 Sep 2015 18:43:22
I like the boy Sibbald from Falkirk

He'll still be at Ibrox.

Somebody please start a tune for Martyn waghorn. The work rate and ability this guy has is 2nd to none and anybody that says he's not a goal scorer has to look at the bigger picture. Awesome

29 Sep 2015 09:34:39
Our striker martyn waghorn has been a fantastic buy from wigan as well as tavernier, 200k a piece for these 2 tremendous signings, just goes to show warburton knows a player alright without spending a fortune, waghorn is a truly, magnificent professional who's a total team player with exceptional work rate and has an abundance of skill and cracking left foot.

his movement off the ball as well as on the ball is immense imo, doesn't get the accolades he deserves at times, at this rate waggy will easily hit 30+ goals for us this season! Waggy is a wonderful all round striker! Jayc1204, good post here mate to start the ball rolling on due praise for waggy!

29 Sep 2015 13:20:16
I agree that waghorn is a great player very professional and does a great job for us. But in my opinion he's not a striker. I think he will do more for us playing outwide and he's wouldn't score on a regular basis in the SPL.

Wag-horny horny horny horny...

29 Sep 2015 14:39:06
Ross

Seriously on penalties alone he will get around 10 for us due to the amount of time we spend in opposition half/box. Then the supply he will have bearing in mind we will at least have 3/5 more signings in January he will score a lot of goals he is currently looking likely to score 35+ in Championship which will translate to 20+ in SPFL at least. 20 a season is usually the benchmark most strikers are set to be regarded as a success.

In Homage to a Legend and a song I miss since his passing:

Waggy Waggy, Waggy in Royal Blue
We're all crazy over the love of you

We think it is really magic
When we **** the Glasgow Celtic

You look so sweet with the ball at your feet
When you're scoring a goal or two

I think that would be great in memory of Sandy and tribute to a new and I hope long term Rangers hero

KT

I personally don't think Waghorn would score 20 goals for us in the top league.

He had 2 great chances against st johnstone and missed both of them he has scored 14 goals so far and at least half of them have been penalties.

Scoring in the championship against part time teams is a totally different ball game compared to playing against good defences and full time teams.

Look at nicky clark. 40 goals for QOTS and he can't kick his own backside playing for us against better position.

Hes not a natural striker in my opinion. We need to bring in a proven goal scorer for next season.

We have one.

Martyn Waghorn, it rhymes with **** all.

In the same tune of Allan McGregors old song.
