Just about the perfect Scottish Cup draw for Rangers with a home tie against Ayr or Dunfermline while Celtic play Aberdeen.

Better if it had been at Pittodrie, at least that way the dons would keep it to under 5-0. Hope someone gets lucky against celtic, would hate to meet them, providing we can progress.

Ab72. I've being following the gers for over 40 years. I've never been afraid of facing celtic no matter what our situation was. bring them on

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy, they would hammer us on the park, would be embarrassing. The main reason for hoping not to meet them would be all the pent up aggression/hatred that has built up over last couple of seasons. The pressure has to be released somewhere. Too many numpties on both sides. Not everyone has the sense to realise it is just a wee game of boys running about a field.

Agree0 Disagree0

N1 why should anybody fear that lot billyboy most of us are with you on this one me myself I hope its in the final

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope we get air and pump them 8-0 or somfin

Gotta agree with AB72. I think it would be a real going over if the team met. Celtic are a country mile away from us, jeez, they were better than us 2 years ago and we were stronger then than now and they have got better players again.

I know a lot of fans don't rate mccoist but I see things differently.
1. He saved Rangers by saying these words 'We don't do walking away'
2. He managed to attract player to a club that is in the lower leagues
3. He has completed the objectives set ie. division 2 league win, unbeaten in league 1
4. Ensured stability in the team and high morale despite the ongoing turmoil

I feel mccoist has had no choice but to back the board as he would likely be sacked if he spoke out leaving us with yet another White, Green choice as manager.

I'm firmly of the view that we need to have the majority of the board as Rangers fans, Murray and others, but I also feel we need a chairman that is a business man with football knowledge/experience without connections to Rangers as this will ensure hearts don't rule heads!

Well done Coop7. History will show that Super Ally was our mainstay during the darkest days. The 'Sack Ally Brigade' will be back again when Gers lose a match. as expected! Anyway, our enemies wrongly thought liquidation had killed us off, but forgot that we are a lot more than a company - we are RFC and WATP!

Only got as far as the OP's first 2 points.

1. He saved Rangers by saying these words 'We don't do walking away'

So you wouldn't have stuck with Rangers if Ally hadn't said that? (Good catchphrase by the way, very possibly written by someone at Media House).

2. He managed to attract player to a club that is in the lower leagues

So the name of Rangers, the most successful domestic club in the world and the prospect of earning maybe 4 times their current wages didn't come into it. Just the thought of working with Ally?

Agree0 Disagree0

What.
Let's have a bit of reality.
1/ ally didn't save rangers with a sentence, the money invested did.

2/ he did attract players to a lower league club, by offering ludicrous wages.

3/ he has completed objectives.
Anybody could have done what you state, with this team/budget in the lower divs.

4/ ensured stability, he has from all accounts brought us back to the debt era.

I would be happy struggling in the lower leagues. And winning the div on the last day, knowing we are spending within or means. All I hear is how many trophies in the cabinet, how many in a row, unbeaten runs. That won't matter if the club enters admin again.
Just sad that most fans are more worried about titles than the security and real stability for the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ reality bites 2 major errors 1 mccoist doesn't deal with what players are offered and also it's down to the man in charge of the finances who has put us in debt

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Reality Bites, what inside information do you have that the rest of us don't on the " ludicrous wages " McCoist has been dishing out to attract quality players to Ibrox?

My guess is none and maybe you need to have a reality check of your own.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kfraser you really are blinkered with your hatred ally went for players he had a chance of getting ie free agents as he could not even spend a pound on a player. So he sells rangers to the player then the player goes yeah that sounds good but this is what I want money wise. Then ally says to the board this is what he wants. Ally does not decide if he gets that the board does so get over yourself. Also you are just going to have to accept what we have is all we are getting because the mcolls and kings don't care enough to put there money in. Yes ally might have made lots of money by sticking with rangers but at least he had the balls to stay whilst many others jumped ship. Nobody is coming to the rescue so get of ally, s back and concentrate on supporting the team.

@ 5 the evidence of "ludicrous wages" is in the accounts. Agreed Ally doesn't decide what the individual players earn however most reasonable men would assume that exclusively signing established premier league quality players is going to be far more expensive than quality youngsters.
But whilst we are on about costs to our club- the person who threw the flare onto the pitch at Falkirk has just cost the club (who have agreed to foot the bill for the repair) more money which we cannot afford. Can this person be named and shamed by anyone?- he should pay for the damage himself and then stay away from all grounds everywhere until he becomes a responsible adult

Agree0 Disagree0

He saved the club by saying we don't do walking away but got 900 000 pound for it no wonder he wouldn't walk away

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of these posts are worrying.
Looks like 80% of fans don't know
The real situation this club is in.
@5 my inside information is google.
Check for yourself. Typical armchair fan.
Not a fecking clue.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 & 9 - re your 1st point @3 yes your right the money invested saved the club,
That includes the original investment by Green and CO (although they got that back),
that includes everyone who bought a season ticket and all those who bought shares at the IPO, we all played our part and we should continue to do so

Thats also why all those calling for a boycott of ST's, shares, merchandise, etc. could have killed the club if it had been starved of investment

@7 if you look in the accounts think you will find the ludicrous wages were given to the board and the manager, not necessarily to the players

finally @9 Google! seriously

Don't forget the ludicrous amount of money that Ally and his team have taken. glad you are proud of the dross he has brought in, sure the boys who came through the academy are ecstatic that they can't get a game because of some dodgy Greek, Brazilian. perfect time for the youth was the statement from all the fans, give the boys a chance. lasted about 2 games.
