Ed, you should be able to confirm that I've mentioned my cousin is the Aberdeen team doctor about a year ago. Nothing to do with this manager situation. Cheers.

{Ed033's Note - yes, you mentioned it before:
02 Dec 2017 18:47:55

"My cousins the Aberdeen team doctor Dr G Richie. I've not heard a cheep from him so I really doubt that DM contact has been made. Last time I spoke to him we still had Pedro and my cousin was out for dinner with DM and his wife."

02 Dec 2017 20:36:11
Stuarteah don’t think you have mentioned this before you seem to mention family members all over the place giving you info

03 Dec 2017 00:23:56
The post is about his family member not giving him info.

I have a family member who has played for both Rangers and Aberdeen. He has not given me any info, but I have not been out for a meal with him.

If I have a meal and he doesn't give me any info, then I will know for sure that no contact has been made with DM.

If I have a meal and he does give me info, which he won't, as he is not stupid, then I will keep it to myself.

If I don't have a meal and he doesn't give me info, then I will know about as much as Stuarteah.

There are other permutations but I am bored now.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on tomorrow?

I think we will squeak it in a tight game, 2-1 with Morelos and Jack the scorers!

My line up would read:

Foderingham

Tavernier
Alves
Wilson
John

Holt
McCrorie
Jack

Windass
Pena

Morelos

4-3-2-1

Moan the Gers!

02 Dec 2017 20:06:24
Is morales not injured?

02 Dec 2017 20:58:01
If he is then we will have to stick with Miller but in Jan that should read Moult!

03 Dec 2017 10:40:56
Maybe just me weebear but moult reminds me of Boyd. Goals a plenty, but not a lot when it's needed against e. g Celtic!

03 Dec 2017 11:09:01
He’ll fit right in with McInnes then! 😬

03 Dec 2017 11:31:42
Moult has scored more goals against Celtic in a single game than Boyd scored vs them his whole career.

02 Dec 2017 19:10:24
No matter who comes in they're going to have to win at least 10 matches in a row before most fans will think the new guy is good enough. Personally don't give a damn who it is. just someone half decent, not an unknown from the desert. Not a fan of Pena but he has scored 5 in 10. Not too bad. hopefully gets better. well done to nurture on that last lineup

02 Dec 2017 18:18:11
Give Jack Ross the job! Every name that's been branded about might manage at a higher level but this guy gets his team's playing great football. And he's done wonders for the teams he's been at.

It might not be the time to try someone like this but whoever it's going to be is going to have a job on their hands.

We can't afford some of these names either unless the board fined a lot of loose change kicking about! Gio, DeBoer, Alex Neil, Warnock these guys are under contracts even mcinnes! Although the rumour mill has that now 100% done. Any of these names will have to hit the ground running. Jack Ross. Give him time to build and he will be our manager for years to come.

02 Dec 2017 19:01:37
The problem is a lot of our fans will not
give anyone time so whoever it is will
have to hit the ground running or we will
be spending our player budget on managers

02 Dec 2017 19:17:16
Jaxk Ross isn’t experienced enough for the job

02 Dec 2017 19:40:53
All valid points bears and everybody will have different criteria for the job.

Mine would be:

Improves existing players with good coaching
Motivates players to play at there best on a consistent basis
Develops young players
Gets young players into the team
Not constrained to a particular system, adaptable
Ambitious

For me Jack Ross ticks more boxes than McInnes. If McInnes gets the job I’m behind him 100% and he will tick more boxes with people who have different requirements.

02 Dec 2017 23:37:01
Jack ross seriously?

02 Dec 2017 15:34:59
i know there is a lot of views on who should be the manager but what I know is it will not be anyone high profile that we might all want. we are in a stage where shopping in the past at high end stores is now not going to happen. whoever it is will not be an allrdyce. a gio or a deboer. we sadly can only afford the Tommy Wright's or the mclnness. s . what i do know is big eck was not a huge success until he came to us so there is hope in the guys we can afford.

02 Dec 2017 19:18:49
How do you know we can’t afford to pay the compensation for guys under contact DK has as good as said we will be paying for someone who is under contract

02 Dec 2017 22:06:08
I'm not saying we can't pay the compensation to get a manager I'm saying we can't afford the salarys of the top notch managers out there. if you read the rangers accounts they are not a good read. resolution 11 at the agm was a must for us . we simply cannot afford it at this present time. i believe we should leave murty in place till we see how much resolution 11 raises then go shopping .

03 Dec 2017 12:02:50
gerscf, the accounts might not be a good read but rangers are not skint and don’t need to worry about paying compo, haha at the amount of utter tosh that gets posted!

02 Dec 2017 15:25:54
Change of discussion as it's getting boring how much to take Moult and Bowman from Motherwell in Jan?

02 Dec 2017 15:34:49
Bowman. Nae thanks pal, he's only decent with his elbows

02 Dec 2017 15:49:55
No interest in Bowman but Moult is imperative. Ideal Jan window for me: sign Moult on pre contract then pay what it takes to get him immediately £750k? Get Herrera on first flight back to Mexico (originally had Pena on same flight but 5in 10 from midfield has a whiff of cult hero) . Sign up Morgan in Jan. End Dalcio loan. Send Rossiter on loan to try prove fitness elsewhere. McBurnie would walk here from Swansea, get him on loan. Respectfully tell Miller his playing days are over, offer coach role or move on. Push the boat out to convince McArthur, Hutton, and McGregor (all out of contract in the summer) to take pay cuts to come back up the road. Send Windass, Hodson, and Alnwick back down the road to league 1. Bring in McLean if we can get Krancjar off the wage bill.

Keep Believing

02 Dec 2017 16:36:39
like it big marv

def agree on moult - with morelos off form miller struggling and herrera looking bang average we desp need a cntr fwd

i wldnt quite get rid of windass just yet i still think there’s a player in there but yes nikko rossiter hodson dalcio are a drain on wages i fear pena is too gosls aside his touch and movement are poor

I wldnt take shagger or hutton back but mcarthur if we could afford him wld do us a turn

still think we’ve to see the best of dorrans he needs to play further fwd for us to get best out of him he comes alive final
1/ 3 can pick a pass and finnish - not suited to picking up ball off cntr half

02 Dec 2017 17:05:14
Fair enough Trev, I agree on Dorrans and the jury is still out on Pena and Windass. Still feel Shagger and Hutton are better than what we have even if they are a bit long in the tooth. Would really like to see young Morgan on the LW but hearing Rodgers talk about him did conjure up the image of a dog urinating against a lamppost!

02 Dec 2017 14:52:13
Can we stop all this big name nonsense? Big Sam was perhaps the most ludicrous with a £2m pay-off to Crystal Palace and his £6m salary, not to mention his large backroom team, and what he would have spent on players, it was never going to happen. I'm glad we didn't get Coleman, we dodged a bullet on Moyes, and praise the Lord we didn't get Pardew. Ignoring his poor track record and the ill feeling towards him from the fans of all his former clubs. Are we forgetting this is a man who pushes match officials, kicks other managers, and head butts players? This is the type of behaviour that you would expect from a Neil Lennon but certainly not from a Rangers manager! Pulis would make us difficult to beat but difficult to watch, much like Big Eck. The only difference between Eck and all the others is that he's won a trophy in English football. The idea that a big name will attract big name players to Scotland is a fallacy. Since Rodgers came in Celtic have added an ageing defender who has since retired, a young Championship striker who they have developed, a player who failed everywhere in England except under Rodgers a couple of young players on loan and another Man City cast off. Toure arguably big name but bigger than Bruno? When Pedro got the job the only realistic though underwhelming choices were Big Eck, McInnes, and Wright. Personally I would have supported any of them. Pedro was obviously a huge gamble at the time but I supported him as long as any sane man could. Not much has changed, we find ourselves with the same realistic and underwhelming choices. They clearly ruled out Eck pretty quickly. In fairness McInnes probably has earned it more than Wright and St Johnstone wouldn't have been that difficult to deal with. The only other possibility under contract with Scottish experience is Gio, which is the only exciting candidate but seems a bit unlikely. Either way I will support McInnes or Gio as long as I can. Sorry for long post.
Keep Believing.

02 Dec 2017 14:48:59
Allright folks, just joined today, see some posts that make sense an some posts that are bonkers haha, so I thought I'd Wade in too. my preference for a manager would be someone who is an excellent coach but also tactically astute an I don't really think McInnes is the man for that job, I think we've got an inferior team to to Celtic so we need to be superior in physicality or tactically so I either want the manager to get In some big bullies or be as I mentioned earlier very good tactically I don't want to watch fancy football if Celtic are running away with the league every season. Cheers.

04 Dec 2017 10:20:26
Craigymc1, that's magic but do you have in mind who will come to us on our wage and with little money to spend? You want the manager to be good tactically? That like advertising for a maths teacher and then saying they have to be able to count! of course we want a manager who is tactically astute.

02 Dec 2017 14:06:19
First time poster, long time reader. Well done Ed's, great site, plenty of sensible posters that appreciate there's still a long road ahead, and to balance that there are those that still expect a billionaire to ride in on his white horse and bankroll instant success! Not forgetting a few laughing bhoys bragging from their slumdog paradise. Watch out for the glass ceiling lads. Also can someone please tell Andy to STOP SHOUTING! No offence big man but it reads like you have keyboard Tourette's.

Keep Believing.

02 Dec 2017 15:46:00
Lol. Welcome big Marv. Just read your other post there, very sensible, a trait some find ludicrous on here. Anyway, I look forward to reading your future posts.

02 Dec 2017 13:00:04
After the Aberdeen match can we please get Giovanni Van Bronckhorst for Christmas 💙💙💙

02 Dec 2017 10:54:51
Can someone explain the point in Mark Allen. I would have assumed he would have a list of names within days of pedro going, as he would have seen it coming.
Doesnt he hand the board a list of preferred names and advice on the main choices.
Surely then the board say the criteria they want in a manager and he shortens the list.
I will be disappointed if its DM, as it shouldn't take this long to get him in, even if they were waiting on res11 to pass.
I will accept a big name coming to the club if its obvious they needed that to past to gain funds to bring him in however.
Maybe DM was the choice if res11 never passed.

02 Dec 2017 13:24:57
& who is saying that isn't exactly what happened?
Some people will never be happy until they get a personal invite to a board meeting!
NO other club conducts it's business in the open, why the hell should we be any different.

01 Dec 2017 23:59:30
I think murty will get the next game against Aberdeen then a new manager will be in .

02 Dec 2017 02:06:39
Cannot believe I am seeing people on here claim they would rather to see Jack Ross, previously of the mighty Alloa, currently of the Paisley giants St Mirren in the Championship, than Derek Mcinnes.

Good. Grief.

02 Dec 2017 03:51:30
I honestly cannot believe names like McLeish McInnes Wright. do not underestimate Dave King. i believe we are going to shock a lot of people and bring someone in who is a big name. my fellow bears.

02 Dec 2017 08:09:45
If it is a so called big name like you say FERRET the compensation will be a fair sum of money because most top managers are on 1 year rolling contracts, I honestly can't see it being anyone else other than Mcinnes as Dave king stated he will have knowledge of Scottish and British football

02 Dec 2017 09:16:42
Anyone seen or heard from Souness recently. Wouldn't surprise me if a shock return with Wilkins was on the cards!

02 Dec 2017 09:19:35
Who would you class as a big name ferret? I'd love to believe it. and POSSIBLY with new share issue now going to happen DK may pull a rabbit out the hat but I'm not convinced. Here's hoping. As iv stated previously mcinnes ain't my preference! when he said a few games ago the rotten mob r unbeatable I thot no way ever did souey jock wallace or Walter etc ever admit That! What a defeatist attitude.

02 Dec 2017 16:37:53
BearMode Jack Ross ran Celtic as close as any team did last season with a non existent budget, 10 times less than the mighty McInnes, I wouldn’t be so naive to discountva good young Scottish manager, McInnes showed some promise once upon a time

02 Dec 2017 01:18:37
If the rumours are true about Mcinnes then I hope the board back him or whoever for that matter comes in with some funds in January.

Staying with Mcinnes would like a Barry Ferguson and Kevin Thomson coaching team! Think they have the right mentality and passion for bringing the best out the team. Get them fired up and give some knowledge and belief to the younger generation of players.

As for an assistant? Would he bring Docherty? Any thoughts?

02 Dec 2017 07:43:03
Of course he will bring Docherty, why would he not. He is his right hand, tried and trusted through years of working together. Can't believe you are even asking this!
