Well done guys grinding out a win Ugly 3 points a a freezing cold Kirkcaldy. The Wee Arsenal lads went backward looked lost at times and Barry McKay I don't think he passed a defender one on one all night. Onwards and upwards for the Only Show In Town.

02 Feb 2016 22:06:37
Thought forrester looked better the biggest thing is they stupid corners that's looking for a wonder goal ahhhhh driving me mental.

02 Feb 2016 22:18:06
StmonkeyRFC spot on, said last week give the boy a few games before anyone makes judgement, he will get better .

02 Feb 2016 22:28:52
I agree with the corners, it might change now that we've a bit height in the team with MoH, another thing tonight how many times did we get to their 18 yard box only to play possession football back to our 18 yd box and sometimes keeper, and he was messing about he's going to get caught one of these times but I'll take the points.

02 Feb 2016 23:04:02
He is being told to play out from the back its MW style not lump it up the park.

02 Feb 2016 23:11:10
We need to be more clinical. Yet again we had about 70% of the possession, we had about 14 corners and yet we only scored one goal.

We need to see a more direct approach on goal when the opportunity arises and we should be battering the oppositions goal.

Sorry to see that Holt is still injured since he is the one midfield player that can take his chances on a regular basis. Zetalem needs to start scoring and hopefully once MOH has had a few games under his belt he will score a few for us.

02 Feb 2016 19:27:10
Am losing the will to live on here. The January window has just slammed shut and some are already suggesting signings for the summer? Get a life for Gods sake, let's talk about football, and leave the speculation for the summer. These posts are beginning to spoil a great banter site.

02 Feb 2016 20:11:18
Well said wee bill let's enjoy watching what we have rather than talking about who they want instead.

02 Feb 2016 21:46:54
Was thinking before the game Waggy should prob be rested, don't think he and Tav have been at there best recently, would have had King on from start Waggy on bench, but hey another 3 points clean sheet onwards we go .

02 Feb 2016 21:58:53
Wee bill its a rumours/ banter page. Fans are excited and happy to be talking about and speculating about potential signings. Your post suggests we should suck the excitement out of ourselves. I think you should cheer up mate after all we could still be talking about the spivs before.

02 Feb 2016 22:07:04
BP I agree mate, Waghorn needs to sit on the bench as does miller now and let the new signings show what there made off, it would be a big call for which I'm not sure MW is willing to make. Same as Mckay as he was not firing tonight, but that's football, hindsight is a great thing! 3 points secured but this hibs lot r not going to go away btw!

03 Feb 2016 13:23:09
Em, MW spoke yesterday about wanting six summer signings- suppose he should get a life as well?

02 Feb 2016 19:11:49
Just out the BP near Inverness and saw greg tansey getting a meal deal and talking to his mate, apparently he turned down the sheep cause the bears are interested in signing him in the summer, straight up, laugh like the ohalloran saga, but the stuster was bang on the money.

02 Feb 2016 23:52:08
Could do a lot worse than tansey lol his right peg is lethal!

02 Feb 2016 19:08:37
Why does the magic hat keep playing Zelalem he offers nothing in midfield to lightweight.

02 Feb 2016 20:40:10
He keeps the ball very well and links the defence and attack. Totally agree too lightweight but I feel he does a job at times.

02 Feb 2016 20:47:02
biglach62,
Your spot on mate, adds nothing to th team, yet Warbs persists in playing him!
The mind boggles!

02 Feb 2016 21:29:15
Think forester look as if he is showing why we bought him, good football brain.

02 Feb 2016 22:18:06
Good going stuzo. Inverness to Kirkcaldy in half an hour!

03 Feb 2016 10:12:58
Regards the Z boy yes he badly needs to score so he can relax but do yourself a favour and try watching him instead of following the ball for a wee while and you get an idea of just how much he does keeping things going. We missed him last night after he went off.

On the previous post regards corners I am old enough to remember the excitement when we got a corner. Now it is a feeling of such a waste. Has certainly reduced the expectation of grabbing a winner.

So bears the boy that threw a smokebomb on the pitch at hamilton vs motherwell has been hit with jail time, what's the thoughts i think that now they have set a standard they'll have to follow it on, its pretty brutal though but could end up a dangerous thing if allowed to continue.

02 Feb 2016 17:06:50
Perfect, let's hope that they set this as a standard across the board and don't have a rule for one and a separate rule for another. From what I remember, most of these smoke bombs have been at Celtic games but, just like the guys that threw the lighter and attacked the referee I don't suppose that they will ever be arrested and charged.

02 Feb 2016 17:40:06
Thats what I'm wondering is it the same for flares or any objects thrown it'll be interesting to see what happens during the season.

02 Feb 2016 16:00:42
Is MOH cup tied.

02 Feb 2016 17:35:33
Yes he is. Played against Kilmarnock in last round.

02 Feb 2016 15:56:47
Is the match in to tonight and is MOH cup tied for Saturday.

02 Feb 2016 15:24:38
Does anyone have any transfer suggestions for next season?

With connections maybe players could come from the likes of Brentford, QPR, Burnley, Fulham, Wigan and loans from the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea.

Need a first choice centre back.

Grant Hall - Spurs
Kevin Long - Burnley
Harry Maguire - Hull
Dan Burn - Fulham
Shaun Hutchison - Fulham
Harlee Dean - Brentford

Need a holding midfielder.

Rohan Ince - Fulham
Kevin MacDonald - Wolves
Corey Evans - Blackburn
Harrison Reed - Southampton
Will Vaulks - Falkirk

Any ideas after a great January window? Six players in the summer! Can't wait hopefully everyone of them will be a gem.

02 Feb 2016 15:36:53
Harlee dean, vaulks and McDonald would be excellent signings can't see it happening tho. Maybe vaulks.

Danny batth the wolves captain as well.

Although Jackson Irvine imo would be a good signing cheap and solid.

02 Feb 2016 15:47:32
Nice list, maguire vaulks would be nice.

02 Feb 2016 16:46:09
Any ideas for good replacements for Miller next season?

02 Feb 2016 19:11:24
I rate vaulks highly really do and me living in falkirk there fans love him, he played for nothing at first just wanted to play football and earn a contract passion like that you can't buy and the boy has a hell of a dig on him.

02 Feb 2016 15:04:59
Was just wondering everyone's thoughts on wether we should try and sign Ball in the summer? I actually thought he done great on Sat. Sharp in his passing (bar a few) and better than Halliday in the tackle for sure. Would like to see him played there with Holt and Halliday in front of him just to see a glimps of our midfield for next year with Holt/ Halliday. I think they'll be great together.

02 Feb 2016 15:14:37
Think the starting 11 will be very different next season. Warbs has said he wants to sign 4-6 players in the summer. I would expect these 4-6 players to be better than what we have already otherwise warbs wouldn't sign them. Cb's a must or we will get found out.

02 Feb 2016 15:39:21
It's hard to believe Ball's only 20 and he's a solid centre back rather than a defensive midfielder. I'm sure he'll play for Spurs first team pretty soon and there's no way we could get him to sign for us.

02 Feb 2016 17:09:28
If we could secure Ball on a permanent contract that would be ideal but I will be surprised if he doesn't head back to Spurs and their first team squad!

02 Feb 2016 18:07:39
heard Ball was on his last year of contract, you never know.
I would sign him in a heartbeat.

02 Feb 2016 18:38:13
ball has a quite a bit to go to get in to the spurs first
team as they have one of the best defences in the premier league
but on the other hand he is better than wilson.

02 Feb 2016 14:37:47
Foderingham

(Solid GK)

Tav Kiernan Wilson Wallace

(Solid settled back line, with wingbacks that are tremendous in supporting the forward play and contributing to the counter attack, the 2 CB forging a good understanding now after playing best part of 6months together)

Law Holt Halliday

(3 battlers in the middle of the park, good at rolling up the sleeves and getting stuck in but can also play a bit, good passing, and can get forward into the box, real combinative midfielders)

O'Hal Waggy McKay

(Pace, counter attack, young, hungry, full of running and energy, will never give any defence one mins peace, press up the park high, can all interchange across the front so defenders will have problems picking up a man, once Get waggy and McKay tied down on new deals and I am really chuffed with forward line.

Subs Bench

Bell
Forrester
King
Shields
Ball
Zaliem
Clark
Thompson
Miller

Now that is what I am talking about, that is one strong side bench, fit lean squad people chomping at the bit to get in the team and you are talking good players, no mugs, players that can play and have a point to prove.

Add the 2 Accrington boys, take away Ball and Zaliem and Clark, and possibly Shields and that makes space for 4-6 new faces of quality in the summer, keeps the squad tight and lean and full of quality. Think we will see 2-3 defenders, 2 Def midfielders and 1 out and out goal scorer in the summer.

Celtic a squad full of foreign imports with no heart or soul or any idea of what it means to pull on a jersey in Glasgow, we will punish them if we get hold of them!

02 Feb 2016 14:44:23
Cb's are far from solid mate. Defo an area that needs sorted in the summer.

02 Feb 2016 15:20:47
The centrebacks aren't solid because they are the only 2 in the team that defend, hardly there fault that's the way we play so fans better get used to it. You at least can't say the games lack excitement.

02 Feb 2016 15:29:00
coldo, said backline solid and CB forging good understanding after 6 months, also think that we will sign 2-3 defenders in summer as back up.

The back line, doing well now, good number of clean sheets, but probably would find it hard in premier, but you must admit the defence has got stronger over the course of time, but defence will need beefed up that is for sure.

02 Feb 2016 15:42:41
I still think the CB's deserve a shot next year with a proper CDM in front of them, Am sure if Eustace had been fit and signed he would have made them look a lot better than they have done. It's my one criticism of MW is he hasn't fixed that position yet. Think he hasn't done Kiernan and Wilson any favours. But to be fair since Wallace and Tavernier have calmed the forward runs down a bit they have looked more solid. A good quality CDM will allow the full backs to charge on at will, and we will be frightening to play against.

02 Feb 2016 15:55:29
Was at the falkirk game and both wilson and kiernan were found wanting. Too many times for me. Yes I will agree they have improved but not not enough. Shame really, as at start of season I thought they would be good together. In the prem lads they would get found out. Cb's should be able to hold up forwards when defending until other players get back. The forwards just run past kieran and wilson. Hearts aberdeen would destroy them. They just don't give me confidence lads.

02 Feb 2016 17:31:14
Fair points coldo, can't disagree to much, recbob said a good point thou, good holding midfielder might be what needed for them, but you points are pretty spot on, Top 3 or 4 teams could do damage if we don't tighten up there!

02 Feb 2016 18:40:51
Law gets stuck in? Are you joking? When it gets tough he hides. Can't believe some on here thinking he is the answer. He isn't good enough and needs to be shown the door in the summer.

02 Feb 2016 16:38:52
The reason their found wanting as u say is because they r exposed at the back with tav and waldo up the park, but I wouldn't want to play any other way, loving life under warbs and weir.

02 Feb 2016 19:15:46
Central defence is weak and Clark provides little even coming off the bench.
Shiels is inconsistent. We need to be stronger both on the field and on the bench. Hopefully with the new guys that come in during the summer we will be stronger but we could lose players as well.

Also, some of our players that are out on loan will objectively come back stronger and could be involved.

02 Feb 2016 14:22:56
MW says he plans to add a further 4-6 players in summer after talks with king end in agreement.

Cue several months of sightings at petrol stations, car rentals, estate agents or stories of my pal knows.

In the end we got one of our two main targets and everyone seems happy.

Happy to admit got this one wrong, although I suspect that there was a change of heart by the board as we have ended up paying a fee that they had earlier refused to meet. Surely has to be decent buisiness as if he is a success his value could easily double.

I stand by saying he's a decent but not exceptional player, but hopefully he can kick on with better coaching and facilities.

Wouldn't swap him for kazim "the journalist beater" Richards that's for sure.

02 Feb 2016 14:59:06
Luigi a think the reason for the late arrival of O'halloran was simply down to the semi final. St Johnstone valued him at 600,000 because of a potential extra money for place in the final and a top six finish. After the final was a no go then 500,000 seems fair on all parties. Good bit of business, he will be worth far more than that after a season in the top flight with the mighty Rangers. Guaranteed. The Brentford boy was older, less sell on value therefore we didn't enter a bidding war with Leeds. Again good business from the board.

02 Feb 2016 15:33:22
totally with you recbob, board have done well, no mugs, no tossing cash around, and super jays were never going to sell him before the semi, a blind man could see that, but it never stopped the DK haters wadding in cause we had to wait till that semi was played. 450-500K is bang on for him, he is still only 25, he got decent experience but we shall see how he fairs for the mighty bears, I think with pace like his and the way we play and waggy up top with McKay the 3 of them are going to tear shreads off teams, put in Kenny miller the odd game here and there, and also O'Hal will learn from a master, training with KM will be the making of him that will further his education for sure.

02 Feb 2016 13:23:49
So, January done. Who's happy who isn't?

Personally, I think we have had a decent window. Wanted a DM for cover. I think Halliday does a good job and against Falkirk it shown we will miss him if he is out again.

King looks like he will be a good addition, already after Saturday he as shown he will offer us a goal threat.

O'Halloran for me became more of a statement than we actually need him. But his pace going forward alone will bring us more fire power across the front 3. Hope we get to see a bit of him tonight.

Forester looks like a player, but where king and O'Halloran have been playing regular and will be sharp. He hasn't played for a while, and it shows, so might find himself down the pecking order.

Not necessarily strengthened in the areas I thought we needed but happy with the signings. The keeper brings competition. With the two Accrington lads coming in the summer, we certainly look like we are heading in the right direction come next year.

02 Feb 2016 12:45:12
Does anyone know what team the dutch boy Fagrach play in can't see anything about him apart from one website.

02 Feb 2016 13:03:43
In one of our youth teams, most likely the u18's.

02 Feb 2016 12:23:50
Was in the local co-op there and they appear to have ran out of humble pie, all the Dave King haters have had there slices that they deserved.

The man has worked wonders since he and the team came in.

From Ibrox to Training Centre, staff Recruitment, Youth Recruitment, First team Squad overhall, paying back SD and standing up to the fat Ashley! All front page news vanishing, our business done properly and under the radar, the man should be applauded.

I hope that all bears are finally in agreement we are all signing from the same sheet, board good, manager good, fans good, team good, Ross County Good, Tims rubbish hahahah!

I look forward massively to next season, looks like premiership for us, I don't know that I fear a gulf in class, I like that we have young, British core at our club, it will go along way to helping us next year, team of battlers, who can play footie and are fit as they come, I don't know that we have too much to fear, add in 2 Accrington boys and 4-6 more signings, few other out the door, MW now has his Squad turned round in 1 year. Winning mentality built in, a think we are looking good for Treble next year hahaha!

02 Feb 2016 13:14:55
I am in total agreement with everything you've said m3VLO. The difference in 6 months is simply staggering. Think of where we could be if MW see's out or stays beyond his 3 year deal. I think even when he leaves big DW will step up and carry on the good work.
Cast your mind back the the summer on these very pages, the likes of DH88 and various names followed by 'bhoy' would be on here trying to stir it up and troll our team. You never see them now, ever. Completely vanished. Can only be a good sign.
Every celtic fan I know has become very quiet of late, they can see that we have the best manager, the best fans and in Dave King maybe a man who is going to do what it takes to return us to the top. I'm loving it!

02 Feb 2016 14:17:50
recbob, your spot on, the tims have gone quiet and dh88 has not been seen in a bit, must have crawled back under his rock.

the point you make about 6 months work from MW it is frightening the turn around, also shows you how bad Ally was, even thou he will forever be a legend regardless, good coach, but never a manager in your life. I think MW will stay his 3 years and by then we will be back were we belong, above the tims and in Europe, !

02 Feb 2016 14:23:37
The Dave King haters, the moaning minnies, the negative loyal, haven't gone away, they're just licking their wounds and planning their next round of whining that will start just before this season ends. There are four regular contributors to these pages who must have a degree in negativity.

02 Feb 2016 16:08:38
Massive turn around from top to bottom, I too can't understand the grief king gets. Looking forward to tonights game and the killie. Two wins would be massive.

02 Feb 2016 13:32:11
Well said recbob, that's as good a gauge as any to measure our progress. Dunder heed nowhere to be seen.
In fact, where are you Dunder?

02 Feb 2016 17:21:03
2-0 tonight and 3-1 on Sat.

02 Feb 2016 12:17:08
Has anyone noticed the lack of injuries that we have had with our tight lean fit young squad.

I have never seen that before, majority have been available most of the season, few small injuries here and there but nothing horrific of note (TOUCH WOOD) they must be doing something right up the Training Centre now a days. MW and DW have to be applauded along with their fitness team.

Just goes to show that massive squad is not always needed. I like the way MW has done things this year.

His vision and master plan is very much underway.

02 Feb 2016 14:46:46
Great call on the injuries M3LV0 - totally agree - I was just thinking that myself. Our club has been blighted with far too many injuries for as long as I can remember.

It can't be a co-incidence that we now have next to no injuries with the professional approach Warbs is taking to training, fitness, diet, hydration etc.

02 Feb 2016 11:45:42
O'Halloran to start tonight?

02 Feb 2016 11:37:01
Cee
Give me Nicky Law over Zelalem any day!
He's come on leaps and bounds since Warbs took over, (when given his chance)
The pace and tenacity of the Scottish game simply do not suit his style of play. Really don't know what Warbs sees in him to be honest!?

02 Feb 2016 13:11:27
Don't know what you see in nicky law very below average player wouldn't get a game at hibs or falkirk.

02 Feb 2016 15:35:10
Law is a good player Cee, he is what wee need in our team, a bit of bite and can get about, let's the footballers play football, a think law holt and halliday is a good solid fighting midfield and they can all pass a ball as well!

02 Feb 2016 18:42:17
Cee

Totally right mate he is rotten and shouldn't be anywhere near the team.

02 Feb 2016 08:28:17
What happened to the boy from Southampton we were supposed to be signing on loan.

02 Feb 2016 12:13:57
personally don't even think we needed anyone else. squad is solid, onwards to the title now!

02 Feb 2016 13:11:38
Papertalk.

02 Feb 2016 09:11:59
I would just like to say I'm delighted the stories regarding nicky law leaving rangers as part of the michael o'halloran deal were false, I was a big critic of law up until warburton became our manager because law hadn't done it for us that was 'till warbs became our manager, law always had the talent and has been a different player under warbs and is now showing us what he has to offer us, I think and really hope now that nicky law gets a new deal in the summer to stay with us, thoughts fellow bears?

02 Feb 2016 09:27:04
I'd expected Law to sign a new deal, unless Warbs has someone else in mind, he is looking at 4-6 players in the summer.

02 Feb 2016 10:04:39
If you want to challenge Celtic in the top league then Nicky Law isn't the answer if you are happy with just being in the league and not winning it then Nicky Law is ok. I don't think he is good enough and hides too much.

02 Feb 2016 10:32:05
Not good enough move him on the big fairy.

02 Feb 2016 10:53:21
Agreed 15!

He has added graft and grit that were missing from his game and ours in his absence.

I think Warburton has worked well over the transfer window. Was thinking about it last night.

He has not gone and brought in A solid Centre Back, A defensive mid or a central striker which are arguably the most influential positions.

However these are now free to bring in the better quality players in the summer in these key positions.

I would imagine Ball will leave and an experienced CB in his pace.

Zelalem to go and Halliday moving forward to fill his void and a DM in.

I expect one of Gostomski/ Bell to stay and maybe one of Forrester/ King.

With Crooks and Windass going in to we will have a strong squad!

Maybe a bit more cover in full back positions and an out and out striker to follow Kenny after next season.

02 Feb 2016 11:02:42
Talking of big Fairies. Warb15 is raking in the plaudits for his inside info on O'hal coming in and rightly so. But he's not always right, he promised to fix me up with his 25 year old sister but it was his 40 year old brother in a wig, good kisser though so I can't complain:) .

02 Feb 2016 12:13:00
Law i'd the only one of the players, Shiels, Clark, Templeton and Law himself that I would consider giving a new contract unless Templeton, when he eventually returns from injury, is a different player than the one we saw under McCoist.

Shiels blows hot and cold and Clark just hasn't shown the goal scoring flair that he did for that one season with QotS and even allowing for him having played under MCCoist and McDowall I struggle to see him being given another contract when we are looking to be in the top two, ideally the top one in the SPL.

What will be interesting is who Warburton will sign. Let's hope that he and his scoring people identify a few gems that can put our rivals back in their box.

02 Feb 2016 11:33:09
I'm a little bit surprised were even having this debate, nicky law is not any ware close to what we need for the prem, I will be shocked if we extend his contract next year if we go up, I'm looking forward to getting rid of all the players out of contract so that we have even more money to look to bring in new players, if we really want to challenge hearts, dons and them, then we must offload the players that are out of contract and get a better quality in, really excited by the direction our clubs going under the board and management.

02 Feb 2016 12:44:39
Law was a non-trier under McCoist against part-timers and also last season. But now he fancies it (sometimes) because we're playing better? I accept better managers can get more out of players but his attitude is poor.

02 Feb 2016 07:02:18
M. w. I've always said one or two. The chairman said he thinks we need five new players but he didn't say in January.

"I absolutely agree with him and in the summer I will be looking to add at least another four to six players to the squad - but not in January. I would never, ever do that.

01 Feb 2016 23:56:36
All the king non believers r quiet tonight glad he proved you all wrong and we can finally put to bed all the warburton should go if king ain't backing him nonsense but am sure some will have complaints still even if we had signed messi people would find a fault.

02 Feb 2016 12:19:49
We move on to the summer to see who comes in then although with SPL Football I would imagine that there is more likelihood of new investment providing the shenanigans off the park can be resolve.

I am delighted that Warburton has managed to sign MOH although I do believe that we could have had our man earlier but I remain disappointed that we did not secure a defensive midfield player.

In terms of the Board and DK in particular, I will remain cautious of MR King and will equally remain happy with all other Directors of the Club.

One swallow does not make a summer and we still have a long way to go!

I am very confident that with the appropriate level of financial support that we can regain our rightful position as Champions of Scotland and develop our credentials once more in Europe.

Rangers Roumers Awards

1. Roumers Award: Warburton15th
For continually telling us all that
Michael O'Halloran was coming.

2. Banter Award : Stuzo
For your post on meeting Michael
O'Halloran at that petrol station in Perth!

Well done 15th kept telling us when others thought it nonsense!

Stuzo your a Legand with that post never laughed so much on Roumers posts!

What do the rest of you guys think!

02 Feb 2016 05:35:44
Lol, I'm totally chuffed guys, love the banter, but it was true. As someone did say he was bricking himself after I chapped his windae.

Hey check out the spoof hitler post on you tube about the Ross county defeat totally priceless, I know it has done the rounds in a different format but the latest one is absolutely brilliant, enjoy.

02 Feb 2016 06:26:50
Good man bongo, I appreciate your kind words, contrary what a few thought on here I was always telling the truth regarding michael o'halloran and had very close inside info on it, so cheers again mate for at least recognising I wasn't talking crap.

02 Feb 2016 08:33:16
Can't disagree with that bongo😂 although I am sure some will and blame David king!

02 Feb 2016 08:47:42
Right bongo what's there prize 😂😂 get your wallet out lol.

02 Feb 2016 09:02:01
Big riff
Bragging rights mate I'm sure these two guys will be rubbing it in for some time!
I'm glad it's over more so because we still have the fringe players as we needed cover in case of suspensions and injuries!
