Second half absolutely tremendous.
Only Dumbarton granted but superb. Best afternoon spent in Dumbarton since 1979.

Wonder if all the people who were skating warbs saying he should go are still thinking the same? Can't say I have walked away from ibrox this season not entertained.

02 Jan 2016 19:04:47
spot on, it was important to follow up the Hibs success with another good performance. Expecting a few signings in the next 5-6 days that should also invigorate the squad. One question though? Is it just me or has Tavernier lost at least a yard of pace in the last 2/3 months. All in all though a really good team performance. Think Mr Warburton has to have a word with Martyn Waghorn also as his penalty winning attempts have made me cringe a few times of late, no need!

02 Jan 2016 19:17:27
Yes cee, your spot on mate, I have said as much myself on here regarding all these doubting thomas's who slated warburton on here leading up to our game against hibs, they are 2 in particular who are so negative towards what warburton is building at rangers and towards the club in general, I'm glad like yourself cee I'm not one of these negative thinking 'gers fans as anyone who've read my posts on here will know I've constantly backed our management team of warburton and weir who are doing terrific jobs and I've backed the glasgow rangers in general, imo warburton is building something special here at our institutional club from top to bottom and we'll all see in years to come when warburton isn't our manager anymore just how good a position he's left our club in and his legacy will be left with us forever!

Can't believe I'm the first to post congratulations to Kenny miller for his hat- tricky today - mind you a regular poster stated only10 hours ago (2hrs before today's game) that miller was like a man down and his first touch was terrible - looks like he had 3 terrible touches today to help us on our, way :) I'm glad I just said pre-game to show them who was boss and the team certainly showed that today - Well done Kenny and, well done Rangers - Every player contributes to the cause even on the occasional bad day :)

03 Jan 2016 00:56:42
Agree 100%he is a legend in my opinion and a great servent to our club. airbrush the celtic years though.

03 Jan 2016 14:21:14
I've been skating Miller all year but must say he played well.

02 Jan 2016 11:37:29
I read Barry Ferguson's comments on the Halliday sending off and astonished at how lightly he let's Fyvie off. As a dyed in the wool Rangers fan, he misses the sentiment of most of us and just because he's an ex pro, it doesn't make his opinion any more valuable. Fyvie cheated and disgraced himself and showed a fellow pro the ultimate disrespect through his Hollywood acting stunt.

02 Jan 2016 12:10:40
I wouldn't pay any attention to ferguson after reading his claim that Scottish football is more exciting than the epl.

02 Jan 2016 13:55:16
Cmon lads, he's the Clyde manager, ex Scotland international, one of the best Scottish midfielders ever to come out of Scotland, a real football man, a real Scottish football fan, so why he's said is right, the EPL this season has been great for lesser teams because all the money in the world isn't winning as usual, all the big clubs can't string 3 wins together, anybody can beat anybody, which is brilliant, but the Scottish championship league is decent, same as league 1 and 2, plus the SPL, the guys just talking up Scottish football, not a bad thing! Glad people like him come out with good positive statements like that in papers! Keep up the good work barry, Rangers/Scottish legend, and doing a great job at Clyde, keep up the good work.

02 Jan 2016 14:29:21
Heavy new year Colin? it's good to know that our Scottish midfielders come from Scotland and that our Championship leauge is decent along with Div1 Div2 and the SPl - 4 titles to play for now :)
We are Rangers - show them who's boss today :)

02 Jan 2016 14:53:04
Colin mcdonald has a good point regarding barry ferguson only being honest and a bit patriotic when he wrote his daily record column today stating that the rangers v hibs game and the hearts v celtic game were great games which they undoubtedly were and were better viewing than anything in the epl that same weekend, nothing at all wrong with what baz wrote imo, the english commentators do talk up the epl far too much as I've seen a good few very poor games in that league this season and before, they continually hype it up far too much when and again its only my opinion the spanish la liga is the best league in the world and the bundesliga is getting better and better with every passing season, all the money is in the epl so they should be a gulf in quality between the english and scottish leagues and well done baz for being positive about scottish football instead of others continually running it down for a change.

02 Jan 2016 14:57:18
Personally I would rather agree with Warburton's view on Scottish Football rather than the 'Monster Muncher'.

Perhaps the reason why the EPL is more competitive this season is because there is more young talent coming through at the Clubs that develop their own rather than spending large sums of money on players that often flop.

When you see so called foot all players like Fyvie and then see a lack of criticism of his display from a player like Ferguson then there is a problem with both Scottish Football and Ferguson's current viewpoint.

Perhaps he wants the Celtic job when they eventually get round to sacking Delia.

02 Jan 2016 15:22:30
The Spanish league is pathetic compared to the epl the gulf between the club's is a joke. In the epl every team can beat each other that's why it's the most watched and successful league in the world.

02 Jan 2016 17:51:00
Aye hooly 78,the spanish league is crap, NOT! Your answer to which league has the best teams is in the champions league my good friend, says it all really mate, I suppose it's all about opinions but I see some brilliant games in la liga and I simply rate the spanish league better than the epl, simple as that mate, the english premiership is a good league but not the best and well over hyped!

02 Jan 2016 18:01:20
Hooly when I came back from game Monday watched Man utd Chealsea game, not a comparison to Gers v hibs, atmosphere, goals, totally chalk and cheese too many knockers of our game, well said Barry Ferguson, and yes even the Hearts v celtic had more excitement our game is doing fine.

02 Jan 2016 18:36:35
That's 2 games Brian! Warburton I never said la Liga was crappie I said it's a joke compared to epl that's not just the standard of football it's everything including the way the TV money is shared out its totally in favour of real Madrid and barcelona the money in epl is shared among clubs more. There's no doubt the epl is overated but it's more competitive than la Liga how many games in the epl finish 9 or 10 to 1. But your right it's about opinions I prefer watching Germany football to la Liga.

02 Jan 2016 19:23:42
Have to say you've got a point on german football hooly78,I also think its a cracking league to watch and the bundesliga is getting back to how good it was in the '80's and part of the '90's, the quality there is very high at the moment mate.

02 Jan 2016 19:34:27
When I first got sky tv the German and Argentinan league was the only football on. How times change lol.

02 Jan 2016 20:27:40
Just an example Hooly, don't know how many times I have been looking forward to a big EPL game only to be let down, game should be all about entertainment .
IE send the fans home happy!

02 Jan 2016 18:15:15
English football is far over rated, over inflated prices for mediocre players in the bottom half of league, to many foreigners in It for the money, for stadia Germany, for skill application and excitement the Spanish league wins hands down,

03 Jan 2016 08:58:54
barry is a legend, remember the free kick in the cup final and how he was treated By the so called tartan army, top guy and we should remember that.

03 Jan 2016 11:42:08
Have to agree with holy here, the media hype surrounding the epl can make it unbearable at times but there is no doubting that as a product, the epl is the best and most exciting league in the world, the competition is fierce, I find la liga boring outside of the top 4 teams (barca, real, atletico and valencia) , as stated before, the German league is great to watch and I think will soon be in a position to challenge firstly la liga then the epl, I quite enjoy the french league just now too.

02 Jan 2016 04:28:32
What the he'll is dave king thinking 2 more guys putting money in that are a few shades darker than white . I just wonder sometimes.

02 Jan 2016 10:37:44
Take it you've been on the Buckfast mate. I assume your talking about the invester barry scott well if you are the guy from scotzone has the wrong barry scott! I'd say he's in a bit of trouble for making defamatory statements about the wrong guy.

02 Jan 2016 11:27:15
Barry Scott? Isn't that the guy from cilit bang adverts? Haha. Sorry couldn't resist.

02 Jan 2016 11:28:49
chooboy can you explain what you mean by a few shades darker than white? If these guys are rangers fans who have invested in the club does it matter?

01 Jan 2016 23:56:09
Just a wee comment on Barrie McKay some saying too lightweight / small, Henderson, Johnston , Cooper, etc, if the ability is there go for it, he just needs that bit more consistency, Monday I would have taken him off at half time, passing / dribbling terrible but showed signs second half in a high pressured game he can do it .

02 Jan 2016 09:31:49
McKay has some way to go to be in the Henderson, Cooper and Willie Johnston league. Those guys were all exceptional players in a league that was 100 times stronger than the league we are playing in today and they were playing in a league that arguably stronger than any Scottish League at the present time.
I hope that McKay can become the quality player that we all want to see but he will need a lot of hard work, commitment and the confidence to take on defenders consistently.
He will also need to improve his crossing of a ball and his goal scoring ratio.

02 Jan 2016 11:00:46
I like Barry Mackay but Cooper, henderson and Johnston could beat a man four or five times over in the one move and more importantly these guys could cross the ball our crossing for years has been terrible from way back we could have loads of build up play but how often has the final ball been dreadful we berate the fact we score so few headers but where are the crosses that would make these headed goals wingers are no use if they can't expand play to create gaps in the middle the wee man and Oduwa are not doing this as the longer they have the ball the more congested they are where as with those other wingers I mentioned would rip defences to pieces. Davie cooper never had the pace of Mackay but his feet and mind were faster I remember when we played hearts about 86 they were unbeaten in 20 odd games and coops picked the ball up in his own half and took one the entire hearts team and scored this wasn't the goal on the YouTube tribute where it was a sunny day on a good pitch this was on a pretty wet muddy pitch wee Mackay would have got stuck walking out it. Also Cooper, Johnston, Henderson, McLean, Wilson and wee jinky over at the dark side got lumps kicked out of them but they never went down what made these guys seem all the better was the way they kept going even after getting taken down they get up and just continue playing on one leg until they get back up and in the case of wee bud he would have been the one dishing it out.

02 Jan 2016 09:43:57
Needs more belief in himself.
Wish he'd stop trying to pass every ball with the outside of his boot though when a simple sidefoot is enough.

02 Jan 2016 12:55:31
He was the best player on the park against hibs, it ain't easy when it's Miller you're trying to play the ball to he is a man down never in position and his first touch is the worst ibe ever seen.

02 Jan 2016 18:09:56
Gary know what your saying mate but up till now we don't need a winger that can put a good cross in as we don't play with an out and out target man all our football is on the deck, Barrie beat the left back with ease twice before being replaced, time will tell .

02 Jan 2016 23:30:18
The best player on the park against hibs WASN'T barrie mckay it was jason holt without any shred of doubt, I actually think mckay had at best an average first half against hibs although he improved somewhat in the second half.
