What we need for next season is a fairly tested Scottish league striker. I think we should give Boyce a shot!
He has scored 20 league goals so far. I recently heard that county's record fee is £100,000.
If that's the case we could get him for a steal!?!?
He can't be worse than waggy and o'hollaran

02 May 2017 23:29:08
A fairly tested Scottish league striker.

I certainly hope not mate!

I really think we've got to aim higher than Boyce, Moult or Cummings. In my opinion we need some xfactor, someone with a bit of quality that is going to be a match winner for us. who that'll be in don't know but I don't think they already play in Scotland

03 May 2017 01:08:25
Cummings is a match winner I've stated before on here that I wasnt convinced by him at start of season but watching him this season I honestly think he would flourish at ibrox, he has the confidence to go and score goals! Cummings and Adam Armstrong would by my targets

03 May 2017 07:17:37
Rite guys. heres a thought. if we don't see significant investment this summer, how about we get something set up throught club 1872,in the way of a transfer kitty? ongoing direct debit. £5,£10.or if your flush add your own above this. thoughts.

03 May 2017 08:36:03
unfortunately guys this is the calibre of player we are going to sign. Better get used to it. We should all know by now we can't afford any better.
Just the way it is going to be for a good few years yet.

03 May 2017 09:06:19
Kris Boyd was good enough for us when all he was a Scottish league striker. I would take Boyce, why turn your nose up at someone who regularly scores 20+

03 May 2017 09:29:58
If we're going down the route of signing a striker currently playing in scotland, then louis moult of motherwell, is a better striker than liam boyce, imho!

03 May 2017 09:36:58
Boyd, naismith, novo came from the scottish league and they done just fine. Look let's be honest, we would love to spend 5 to 10 mil but it just won't happen. Boyce moult cummings would be better than what we have. I would prefer a better standard of player but I wouldn't say no to them. And of course they could score in our league no problem, unlike garner and waghorn.

03 May 2017 09:39:55
Boyce? At this rate we will become even less average than we are now. Rangers are now in the position where we either go out on a limb financially and get REAL quality in or risk becoming what DK predicted. an irrelevance. I don't want the club to endanger itself. i'm a true blue. But like so many others i thought we could make a fight of it this season.

Maybe not win title but be up there battling with the Dark side. We cannot have another season like this one. If that means spending then spend even if it means hiking the price of season tickets. I would rather pay more in the knowledge we have a team on the park who can compete. We are RANGERS

03 May 2017 13:50:04
I can't believe some folks are still banging on about signing
Cummings from the Edinburgh GREENS, remember the Scott Allan debacle, that mob will never sell any player to us unless they are absolute GUFF and we pay well above what they are worth,
Cummings is as one footed as Waggy and has only scored goals in the championship same as Waggy, do you think Petrie, Lennon and the rest of that crew would do anything to benefit Rangers,
they HATE us more than they support their own club

04 May 2017 18:21:34
moult would be one of my targets as well but i wouldn't pay more than 250,000 for him and take boyce as well as back up for moult and another striker not from here.

cam belongs to naisy if we can get him and already we have a team that would do a lot better than this year.

throw in a couple of defenders and we would be a cert for second without braking the bank but if we are to be challenging next year which i think every rangers fan wants and demands then we really need big money investment or they will keep getting further and further away from us.

02 May 2017 21:01:34
alright fellow bears. i just want 2 say that all this crap about the unclean being so far ahead of my beloved bears is a total load of toss. remember back 2 last season when we put them out of the cup. a lot of media and pundits tipped us to win the league this year. armstrong mcgregor forest all in that team that we beat no world beater. they have added a good manager and three quality players and have a good player on loan spending about 7 million on players hopefully the board will come up with some cash between 7 and 10 million isn't beyond us and we maybe saying the same about some of our players next season.

02 May 2017 22:05:16
Stewartyblue are you serious. There is no chance what so ever of Pedro getting £7mill. Do you not understand that there are 18 players still in contract who Rangers can't get rid of. So add let's say 5 new players costing £7 mill to the wage bill at say £7k each per week in addition to what is already there then that's another £4mill a year on tbe wage bill. Rangers lost £3mill in tbe last 6 months so you think its going to be agreed that instead of losing £6 mill a year its ok to lose £9mill? What is wrong here is fans like yourself who have no idea how a business works. Murray ran Rangers on bank overdrafts not out his own money. Rangers went bust and your logic would make the same happen again. How crazy are you?

02 May 2017 22:25:59
Johnnymac, why the aggression?
Pedro will get a decent amount of money. whether it's £4m or £10m no-one on here knows.
One thing for sure, at least 5 of the 18 you mention will not be with us next season

02 May 2017 23:57:41
Who is going to buy 5 of the 18,or are they just going to pay them off, where is this money going to come from to get these new players, the only income is season ticket money, and that could be less this year.

03 May 2017 00:43:29
Pedro isn't getting anywhere near $10 million. Do you not think if we had that sort of money warburton would've got it because nothing has happened or been said by Dave King in the last few months to suggest money is coming.

03 May 2017 03:46:19
Listen guys if a player is told he not in the plans and notgona get paid he's gor a choice to make. stay take wage and become a has been or leave and play football an maybe further his career

03 May 2017 09:22:09
Well said stewartyblue. I've been getting pelters for saying the same things mate

03 May 2017 09:37:55
Celtic are miles in front of us, stop kidding yourselfs. We won't spend anywhere near between 7 and 10 mil. Jesus christ, what are some of you on?

03 May 2017 09:46:34
Davie 1980, that's easy said they do have a choice but problem is they are getting probably the highest wage right now they will ever get and by last two games I don't see to much ambition in these players so most I fear would love to train each week pick up their grossly inflated salaries and sit in the stand each week and run down their contracts

03 May 2017 16:36:00
i think most of you aren't getting my point. i'm not saying that we will spend 7 million at this point. what i was trying 2 point out is that if we add 3 or 4 quality player either on loan of free transfers or even spending some cash the likes of doodoo and mckay maybe a couple of the young player can inprove like armstrong ect. the main point is the unclean have only added three quality player and a good manager to an average squad what's 2 say we can't achive the same next season

02 May 2017 17:27:46
Hey first time positing been a fan of the site for a long time.

The thing that has got me thinking is why out of all the players facing being out of cotract in the summer has pedro and his team not been able to tie at least one player. Surely the lure of European football and a potential title challenge be enough to pursade a number of players?

Or are we still waiting for this appointment of a Director Of Football? Warburton had managed to secure Windass and Crooks on pre contracts by now ( granted they ain't been great ) is something going on in the background blocking pedro?

02 May 2017 17:41:33
Are you talking about tying up players already at the club, if so the only man worth a new deal got one and as for players at other clubs we can't until the window opens.

02 May 2017 18:32:44
I am sure the post refers to out of contract players at other clubs.

02 May 2017 18:33:27
Gary 75! Think the op means players out with Scotland . You can sign players outwith Scotland at anytime on a pre contract once they enter the last 6 months . So players due to be out of contract could be signed on pre contracts anytime since January.

03 May 2017 09:06:32
Yeah but if we did maybe the clubs and players wouldn't want to announce it has that may hamper there end of season run in. Plus how much expectation did we have for crookes and windas and I know some on here think crookes is going to come into the team and be amazing but I feel they have been a total let down, and up until Saturday pedro would have been trying to get something out of what he has and announcing the replacements now may hamper our run in.

03 May 2017 09:18:28
think it applies in Scotland as well Delbhoy.
sure Hibs signed Swanson from SJ on pre contract just a few weeks ago

03 May 2017 11:44:03
A wasn't sure if it was a cross border thing bennybhoy. A was just backing up the original post . Warbs had signed the Accrington boys knowing they were free in the summer on pre contracts . I also understand that the board will be waiting on Pedro choosing his own players . A think the op was suggesting offering contracts now to ensure they get players rather than waiting to the summer to scramble or miss out?

02 May 2017 15:59:04
I see there is now speculation linking us for a move to "capture" Will Vaulks" from Rotherham. that's the same Rotherham being relegated from the Championship. This boy used to play at Falkirk. Will we never learn? If this is true it smacks of the same path tread by Warburton. Average players from struggling English teams in the lesser leagues. I despair.

02 May 2017 18:29:06
I don't think King will release money until he finds out if we're going to get into europe, wjich isn't a cert.

02 May 2017 18:53:17
I think we only need one more point to make the Europa League qualifiers. I know we've played crap in the last 2 games but surely to God even that team can manage that out of the last 4 games!

02 May 2017 19:14:43
Still need to qualify though

02 May 2017 19:38:09
We will only last 1 maybe 2 rounds and will make nothing out of Europe

02 May 2017 23:13:42
4th place still qualifies for Europe

03 May 2017 08:54:38
We'll make nothing from Europe? let's say we get to the 3rd round. That would be close to the region of £5mil for the club. (Tickets and prize money)

03 May 2017 09:24:47
Your missing the point. Its not about rounds 1 2 or 3 its about being back in Europe. Gettting the vlubs nane seen again regardless of who we play or how we play. Small stepd bears.

03 May 2017 09:25:09
Europa league qualifiers have come at a loss to other Scottish teams of late. 4th place will also get a European place this year as both Scottish cup finalists are in Europe already. All 3 teams will enter the 1st round so the season is over already as far as I'm concerned. Time to play the youngsters.

02 May 2017 15:16:39
does anyone know what`s happened to Scott Allan, I always liked him as a player forby that fiasco at Hibs, I would take him. Thoughts!

02 May 2017 15:25:24
You havin a laugh he made his bed he can lie in it . don't want him anywhere near rangers besides we already have average midfielders we don't need another

02 May 2017 15:41:49
No chance. there's no way back for him. Brought up a Rangers fan and given the choice between us and Celtic. Chose Celtic. Lie in the bed youve made. A career spent in mediocrity.

02 May 2017 15:42:07
He chose money instead of his alleged boyhood team and is now a bench warmer on loan at Rotherham where he has appeared 10 times.

02 May 2017 17:00:07
I'm all for giving people a second chance but this is a big NO from me.
I don't fancy the additional slagging on top of recent events by signing someone who can't get into the Rotherham team or near their team

02 May 2017 20:18:03
Sorry who?

03 May 2017 09:26:11
I couldn't care less what happened to him. this stage. same scott allan who denied he was a rangers supporter.

02 May 2017 14:06:12
Sebastian bassong released by norwich . anybody think he could be worth a punt? Big CB better than what we have at moment.

02 May 2017 14:29:12
Hasn't played a lot this year, however he is fit as has been a squad player all season. He might actually be worth a punt.

02 May 2017 14:30:30
Saying that Ryan Bennett is also set to be released by Norwich, out of the two I'd prefer Bennett.

02 May 2017 16:55:51
Would take bennett

02 May 2017 16:17:38
See all this better than we have at the moment chat it needs to stop. If that's our recruitment policy for next season we've no chance of competing with them. We need to ask if he's Rangers class, and not just this current squad. Rangers class of old, the most successful club in the world class. European champions last scottish side in a major european final class. Bill struth, jock wallace, walter smith, graeme souness. Its easy to live in the present but let's not forget who we are.

03 May 2017 07:06:13
There will be loads of players being released so it's better to wait to see who is available before trying to sign them.

03 May 2017 09:17:41
This is who we are, we don't have Cooper or johnstone or laudraup or even a Barry Ferguson.

02 May 2017 09:55:27
On top of everything some players know their for the chop and have downed tools, FACT. its giving Caixinha an even bigger task this Season and King better realise that we not only need to get rid of these players because they are not good enough but they will be detrimental to what WE WANT and what Caixinha is here to do!

02 May 2017 11:46:00
I think a lot of fans need to take a chill pill and see that Caixinha is not to blame here in any manner. The guy took one on the chin accpeting the responsibility/ blame. Remember even Advocaats team took a bigger gubbing from Celtic (6-2 in 2000). If that can happen to a team with so many international players throughoyt, then it can happen to the present quite easily. Imagine Caixinha had came in at the end of the season having still to access the current squad. There would have been more of a chance of these current players being granted a free pass/ clean slate into next season. Yes it's currently painful but its our first season back in the top flight and we've likely secured Europe. New players will be in within the next six weeks.

He will be given money in the summer to invest in the squad, however, it would be daft for the club to come out and state that they are going to give him X amount to do so. That would automatically raise the price of some players. It actually works better for us for other clubs to think we are skint.

Give Caixinha time and I'm positive that he will deliver a better and more progressive team than what we currently have. Warburton - great at the time has taken us backward. We were great at the start of least season and tailed off toward the end. This preception that there isn't a gap in quality was determental to the outcome of the season. Bringing English lower league players (ones which are used to drawing or losing at their previous clubs) does not meld into what is required at Rangers - an institution club.

Rangers are still a great draw for players to win things and gain access to European football. Many other clubs can provide more funds, however not the winning oportunities that any of the old firm clubs can. We will get there but its going to take some further patience bears. We've had to be patient for four years so far. its just going to take some more.

02 May 2017 13:37:30
Yes spot on i too believe pedro will come up good with transfers, he has been around a bit and came accross a lot of good players, i am buzzing for this transfer window and can't wait to see if king will provide, this is the time for king to cough up, its bloody obvious we need money

02 May 2017 14:56:41
Alrus blue

Him taking the blame for the defeat on Saturday were empty words as surely no Rangers actually believes that to be the case and knew a lot of the players were responsible. As for this happening to advocaats team if you watch that game again we made a game of it and although some players didn't play well not one of them hid or gave up. Also they hadn't beat us the week before that game with the same amount of ease. So it's not really relevant bringing that up

02 May 2017 15:13:08
Players should definitely have played better and tried harder but I do think that playing 3 up top and not flooding midfield was a mistake by Pedro.,

02 May 2017 15:24:30
Same here Swany, je should have at least made us hard to beat like Sir Walter would have done

02 May 2017 15:39:09
All I'm saying is that Caixinha wasn't to blame for the players lack of ability or effort on Saturday. He took responsibility for their mess as any leader should do, however your right. we all knows its the players lack of ability that's the cause of this. Caixinha tried to implement something new but he doesn't have the players to carry it out. I think that's why he didn't bother going into the dressing room to give them waht for, opting rather let them take a swipe at each other. The guy has obviously tried to instil fight in them but their non-receptive. All these leaks of players unhappy with training methods and lack of holidays smacks of spoiled brats. Warburton probably rewarded their failure rather than read them the riot act. You need to hit the bottom of the barel before you can start to go up and that's what's already began.

02 May 2017 16:14:57
i can't see us getting enough as we have no income from certain parts of our club like merchandise so for what we need 5 million tops ain't going to cut it we need bout 20 mill to get near celtic and unless we get a sugar daddy wiling to spend then i'm afraid second is the aim for next year

02 May 2017 21:48:45
Advocates team did lose 6.2 mate but in the return fixture we won 5.1 this team hammered 5.1 twice

03 May 2017 09:33:33
New manager has been ill-informed at best. 30 years ago he would have been sacked yesterday morning. The worst home defeat to the mankies since the 1800's no excuse acceptable. Empty your desk thanks

02 May 2017 05:48:39
although we are sadly lacking in skill I think pedro should take a leaf out of the late Jock Wallace manual. When he was appointed manager he took one look at the playing squad and realised they were not fit enough to run 90mins+.
Being an ex-army man he took them to the sand dunes at Gullane to train without a ball, the press had a field day mocking his tactics, McCoist and Co. were physically sick moaning about the tough regime.
What happened Rangers won the treble that season.
P. S. How the f**k can you get injured in the warm up, never been heard of in the past. too many wimps.
Cheers.

02 May 2017 07:15:13
Blue bear

If I'm reading that right your saying McCoist was part of the squad that won the treble under Wallace? That's incorrect as Wallace won trebles in the 70s before McCoist signed for the club. Rangers never won the league under Wallace during his 2nd stint. However I do agree about the fitness aspect and I think most of the current squad would have burst into tears had they been asked to run up and down Gullane dunes. In fact Wallace would never have signed these spineless imposters in the first place

02 May 2017 15:44:52
Mccoist wasn't around in the 70s mate. The 2 trebles were won 75/ 76 77/ 78.

02 May 2017 18:45:21
he was providing an 'alternative fact' regarding Coisty
