I'M A GENIUS :O

Play Juanma Ortiz at right back where he played for Almeria and was very assured and play Whittaker on the right midfield because he's a clumsy defender at times and quality going forward.

Ally McCoist i'm after your job son. :)

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Iv bn sayin tht since the start ofthe season. Or bomb Whittaker out all together

Juanma Ortiz is a very well balanced player who has pace and can put in a good ball, he's always looked very good on the right some people just have an indifferent opinion on him because of when he was played out of position.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

02 Nov 2011 21:13:59
All this talk about Naisy being out and being a disaster is a bit off. He's a great player but we have guys like Fleck, Mackay, Bedoya and Lafferty and Wylde who can impress as replacements given a proper run. People badmouth Fleck but give him a run of games and I think he'd come good.

I'll take injuries, administration and any other groups trying to bring down Glasgow Rangers. Truth is WATP and the leagues ours to win! Let's rally behind the players at every game and support them to another glorious title!

4IAR WATP!!!

Rossco Cyprus Bear

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Fleck is a dud... He has been at Ibrox for years now and the only thing he has done is eat himself fat... I can't stand the wee fat guy and he has a bad attitude. Bin him or loan him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2011 21:06:12
Just going to give my views on how we should cover the loss of Naisy. I feel changing to a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, with a narrow diamond midfield, would suit us best. We don't really have good enough natural wingers. Edu would sit deeper for me, with Davis & McKay ahead of him & John Fleck at the head of the diamond, linking up play with Laff & Jela. I feel it is really time Fleck was given the chance, in his best position, to show what he can do. He clearly has the talent.

What do you guys think? And you Ed?

Steven {Ed001's Note - the only problem with that system is that the midfield might get dragged wide or forced wide. Why not 4-3-3, same midfield but two out and out wingers/wide forwards either side of Jelavic?}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Leave it as it is, find the right player to fill naisys boots.

Agree3 Disagree1

We don't have any good natural wingers in my opinion, as I said in my post.

Steven {Ed001's Note - yeah I know, which is why I put the wide forwards bit in afterwards as I thought about it. Ortiz might be worth a go on the right, if he is pushed right up and not expected to cover a full back, he just might be able to offer something.}

Agree0 Disagree1

"narrow diamond midfield" ? with the state of your finances I think you'll have to make do with Cubic Zirconia !

Agree0 Disagree1

Could be right Ed, but sadly I don't think he will be upto much. Likewise Gregg Wylde, I don't rate him.

Steven {Ed001's Note - I can't see Wylde making it as an out and out winger myself, his crossing isn't good enough. Maybe he could also be decent as a wide forward?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be Ed. I think he is let down more than anything by the fact that he plays with his head down. Very inconsistent and lazy with his decision making at times. Still young though.

Would love to see Fleck get a run, what you think?

Steven {Ed001's Note - I don't know about Fleck, he looked fantastic when he first appeared, but his potential has yet to be achieved. I think he needs a manager who plays a more attacking system and gives him more freedom. I am not sure Ally is that man myself.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Why is everyone talking about Fleck again? He has been given chance after chance after chance and done jack. It is time for him to move on to another club and loose some weight. He is a really bad and very poor mans Roonie. The difference is that Roonie is fit, in shape, can score goals, can make passes, can beat player, is 100% comitted, has a good attitude, stands up and is counted, is good at everything. Fleck... Well I am sure he is good at 5vs

Agree0 Disagree0

Started one game since the turn of the year (away to Sporting Lisbon). How is that getting chance after chance after chance? Charlie Adam got all this abuse too. Fleck has ability and WILL come good. But he needs a REAL chance.

And you can't even spell ROONEY, so your opinion becomes void straight away.

Steven

Agree0 Disagree0

He comes on brilliantly in FM11 : )

Boyd better not be coming back......... Greed was the reason he left, he was convinced he was a big fish in a small pond. Im glad his venture down south has gone belly up. No one man is bigger than a club!!!!

BEGGZY

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Greed wasn't the reason he left, he spent years at Ibrox and won all there was to win and he broke the goalscoring record. He wanted a change and maybe a few bob extra, he is a familyman afterall.

Agree2 Disagree3

So he won everything he wanted , then why come back ? Hes been found out for what he is an S.P.L. player. s.p.

Agree3 Disagree0

Any chance he left because we needed the money at that time? yeh he left, here we nearly...2 seasons down the road with 3 in a row. as a player he was a fantastic finisher . lazy sod on the pitch though

What has david healy actually done for his 5k a week? Think its a joke what hes got away with.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Who brought him in? Who resigned him? He hasn t had a chance in big games- we got him 5 years too late.

Agree6 Disagree0

Healy is a goalscorer who in recent seasons hasn't had much playing time. I think that kind of goalscoring ability is in him but he hasn't had a run in the team and we can't afford to give him a run in the team with Lafferty & Jela so good together.

Other option is ortiz or bedoya.4-4-3.

Now to MY best Old Firm games.....
My earliest Old Firm game was my father took me to the 4-2 in 1979 when we won the title on last day of the season, we were a goal down and and a player down yet still won. This was when Celtic fans coined the phrase "Ten men won the League"
Next of course is "Demolition Derby" 27/8 2000 when our Henrik ran riot, oh happy days.
Then on 8 May 2004 Chris Sutton scored in a 1-0 win to give Celtic a clean sweep by winning ALL FIVE derbies that year.
Oh and to the guy who gloated about the old uncovered ends at Ibrox and hamden and singing the tims are getting wet. You must remember the famous Celtic fans response of "We're singing in the rain, just singing in the rain" after yet another win.
LOL Timalloy

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Best old firm game Rangers win the title at parkhead , Think the song we sang was " come on over to parkhead hey you we're having a party " And the celtic fans throwing everthing including them selfs from the stands , priceless lol s.p.

ormer Rangers players could face backdated tax bills as Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs conduct their investigation into the club.

The inquiry centres on the use of overseas trust funds to pay footballers and The Herald has learned that clubs across Britain who employed the scheme often ensured that players first accepted any future tax liabilities before contracts were signed.

The employee benefit trusts, or employee remuneration trusts, were common practice in UK football, particularly the Premiership, from the mid-1990s onwards. Money was paid into the offshore trusts and then loaned back to the players, with no expectation of them paying any interest. The scheme allowed tax and national insurance bills to be avoided.

Although not strictly illegal, the HMRC has been keen to close the loophole and recover funds, and began targeting football clubs several years ago. Between 2001 and 2009, Rangers are thought to have paid £46m into remuneration trusts, coinciding with a time when the club was spending significantly on high-profile players. One estimate of the bill the club might face is £24m.

However, a tax expert has told The Herald that clubs often sought agreement from players that the individuals would accept any future tax liabilities

Fellow Bear. Regarding the rumours about Rangers being given a fixed charge security over their assets to Close Brothers, if true, could anyone post the link so I can have a wee gander for myself? I can't find it anywhere.

I'm beginning to think this is another wide-of-the-mark rumour generated thru the damn rangerstaxcase website.

Not a Rangers rumour, but i just wanted to mention how brave Billy Sharp of Doncaster was to come out and play for his club after losing his baby son, and to score a fantastic goal, which he dedicated to his son was extraordinary. The whole of football should take a look at how humble this can make us all. Condolances to Billy and family, a very brave thing to do, as a father I can only imagine the grief felt by him and his loved ones. My thoughts are with a very brave young man...............

Hi Ed. Do you think FARE will make a complaint against the Chelsea fans for their racial chanting toward Anton Ferdinand?

FARE weren't slow in intervening when they reported Rangers for apparant sectarian chanting against PSV even though the song in question, Build My Gallows, has no sectarian or racial references.

In your own opinion, what was the greatest Old Firm Match? (Doesnt need to be a high scoring game)

StevenA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The game where Maurice Edu scored the late, late winner lol, I was at that game was some feeling. The 4-2 game recently was a cracker because we steamrolled them in the 2nd half. WATP!

Agree4 Disagree1

3-2 scottish cup final, Barry Fergusons great freekick to make it 2-2, then Neil McCann bursts down the left just in front of me and delivers a great ball for Lovenkrands diving header for the winner. Great game. But for pure bragging rights alone, winning the title at Parkhead, "the greatest fans in the world" splitting Hugh Dallas with a coin, Riseth send off, i think wee wallace went as well and Neil McCann's great performance, that's up there as well. Van Hooijdonk missing a pen, Gazza Missing a pen, Van Vossen missing the worst sitter ever. Di Canio and Fergie fighting.. Just the best advert for an Auld Firm game

Two True legendary men at a time when both teams had some of the best players europe had to offer and there was a respect between the two clubs at every level from Board to Player...in a somewhat more dignified time.

Thats easy Bears, 2v0 down at Ibrox and Edvalson has just hit the bar which would have been 3v0, I was 14 and turned to my mate (r.i.p m8) and said " if these b4st4rds score again, I'm no goin' oot the night. The Rangers came out second half and if memory serves me, D.J and our very own Lord Lucan, Gordon Smith scored to give us a 3v2 win, in the rain the old Derry bouncing and singing the " huns are getting wet, huns are getting wet, eeee aye adio, huns are getting wet 2 " go home ya huns, go home ya huns, go home ya huns, go home " makes you wonder how we are now the huns, I've always wondered how that came about..... anyway, that was my third old firm game and still to this day remains the best of my life, WHAT A COME BACK !!.... Rangers 'til I die ( 1977-78 season ) {Ed001's Note - I am not sure whether this post is going to get the site in trouble or not, the word 'hun' is now classed as sectarian. I wonder what Attila would think?}

Anyone else like to see john fleck given a run in the team to replace naisy? I know he hasn't really risen to his potential but he is still only 20 and to be honest he wouldn't have had the hype around him if he couldn't play. Let's see what he can do given a run untill say christmas....

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Don't think Fleck is fancied by Ally. Remember a few pre seasons ago he was sent home by Smith for telling McCoist to f88k off? That may have a bearing on Ally's decision not to give him a chance. Also i would like to see McKay or Bedoya, we paid money for both these guys and in the case of Bedoya, Ally was desperate to get him and paid a fee when we could have got him for nothing in Jan, so McCoist must have liked what he'd see of him.
