Bears, i know we are going through a horrible dark chapter in our clubs history but can we please give pedro caixinha a chance to rebuild our squad with his own players. We are better than just sacking managers surely. Can't believe it is even being discussed. 2nd place (by at least 10/ 15 points) next season and at the very least the group stages of the europa league would be a massive improvement and for me is realistic. Would expect to give celic a bit of a game aswell, then maybe the season after win it. A cup would be a bonus.

30 Apr 2017 23:50:04
We don't do 2nd they are no great shakes listing sprouting in press today Pedros team next season a whole lot different

01 May 2017 07:52:43
JD90

Your dreaming or on the bevy if you think we will get near the Europa league stages. 1 maybe 2 qualifying rounds max with no real money being made from europe

1 May 2017 11:21:02
We will not get through qualifying rounds for europa. FACT. I will give pedro a chance but give him 1st quarter next season to prove himself. Why oh why does he give formation etc away b4 games. Christ i even thought ally coulddo better watching that

01 May 2017 11:36:25
Right now you're doing third or had that escaped you Albion93?

01 May 2017 11:38:09
I think that our Loanees next season will be hugely important!
We cannot go about business in a way we usually do when it comes to loans! By this I mean getting players in at the ages of 19-23, we need to look at established players at Clubs not only top 5-6 in EPL but teams like West Ham etc don't get me wrong there are some really good young players out there who Clubs will only loan out, Samuelsen at the Hammers being one but we will have at least 4 I think of our own hopefully stepping up poss 5 these being Bates Beerman Atayaki Burt and poss Rudden and Aide Wilson but the latter is a defender and we cannot have a back line that's too young so of we bring 3 loans in or even 5 then 2-3 I hope are 25-29yrs. Players who need games but just can't break into a top side. Its not an unrealistic idea in fact its exactly the route we should go down. thoughts Bears

01 May 2017 13:48:40
Pedro might just surprise us so long as he is given the funding to bring in the players he wants. This guy has connections in Portugal and South America as well as Eastern Europe and I suspect that his list of targets will have some pretty impressive names on it. The ball is in King's court and it is time for him to perform!

30 Apr 2017 16:25:55
Ed, as you probably have gathered with the comments on here, a lot of our supporters don't think pedro caixinha is the right man to be rangers manager! Can you please do a poll for those who already want rid of caixinha, to say who should replace him as our manager? I personally think pedro should be given time to build his own team before properly judging him! Where do you stand regarding caixinha ED? Who do you reckon should be the rangers manager?

{Ed033's Note - i have created a poll about how long you would Pedro if no significant improvement is seen, but if you want an alternative manager poll, you have to supply the names of the managers.

Rangers Improvement poll.

30 Apr 2017 21:39:28
Hodson is average at best. Get a grip if you think he's the answer. Ok there are worse in our squad but he's nowhere good enough .

01 May 2017 08:03:04
He's an international RB and has never really put a foot wrong, nor has he been given a chance due to Tavs being more attack minded and clearly he is faster. Hodson needs to be played as Lb now to increase potential sale value and push beerman up to LM so the kid doesn't lose his confidence

01 May 2017 14:01:35
I would play Hodson at Left Back. Long term I don't think he is the answer and I reckon he will be sold in the summer but he is better than anything else we have for that Left Back role.

Come the summer we need to be finding players like Porini, Butcher etc., for our defence and a couple of players with the the tenacity of Souness and Hurlock for midfield.

30 Apr 2017 20:50:16
i see posters listing who we should keep and/ or let go. the benchmark for letting some go will depend on their current contract length. A lot may not know that in real terms there are only a few whose contract is up this summer, so we could just be stuck with most of what we have, this makes it CRITICAL on which FEW players Pedro brings in. Next season is beginning to look like a carbon copy of this one, sad but very likely.

30 Apr 2017 22:14:02
Wee bill

Problem is we don't just have 3 or 4 players that aren't good enough your looking at 13 or 14. Would also agree it's going to near impossible to get rid of the high number of deadwood. Will be lucky to get rid of 3 or 4 of them. Only possible option is loaning them out. Can't see anymore than 4 maybe 5 coming in which is nowhere near enough

01 May 2017 09:09:25
i believe that 2 or three players in the correct positions will see improvement in some of the others.

Look at the difference 2 or 3 players made to Celtics team. Under Delia, a lot of them were mince, now that they have got the balance right, players are allowed to flourish

01 May 2017 14:04:05
We will be stuck with guys like Halliday but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't sign at least six new players. Yes we will be stuck with paying wages for crap players but send them off to play with the youngsters or make them train on their own away from the football players. We can't risk having these jokers in the team if we want to win the league!

30 Apr 2017 20:16:04
listen up all blue noses. yup right now its pathetic but this is our first season back in the top flight and the last time i checked there were 9 teams below us albeit not clubs with our support or stature but this is our first year back . we must learn from this inconsistant season and build on the right players to move forward. sell some dross and build around fringe players with one decent centre half 2 decent, strong midfielders and a top notch six yard box striker. we have 2 seasons to get this right. onwards and upwards fellow bluenoses.

30 Apr 2017 22:20:13
See the 9 teams you talk about not one of them has had the kind of money to spend that Warburton did. Not one of them was able to spend £1.8m on a player or £500k on another not to mention pay wages for the likes of Barton and Kranjcar. In fact a lot of these teams have lost their best players and not replaced them with similar quality. There isn't a team in the league we haven't struggled against and the amount of goals scored is appalling

30 Apr 2017 22:42:38
It doesn't mean because we paid £1.8 for Garner that he is a £1.8m player, that's just what MW thought he was which he quite obviously isnt.

01 May 2017 09:12:07
Well said Bengy!

We should change the manager, shore up the defence and score more goals.

HOLD ON. bar the last 2 games, isn't that what we have done

Lets stop talking about the past and how badly Warburton got it wrong, instead let's look to he future and Pedro (hopefully) getting it right

1 May 2017 11:25:06
they also play in stadiums with a quarter of the gates that we get in fact in some cases a tenth. mistakes have been made. get behind your team

30 Apr 2017 20:14:48
See to be honest rangers need a new better striker I think waggy needs to go but I think we should buy Liam Boyce from Ross county he has scored more than dembele and he is apparently worth 20 odd million, anyone else agree?

30 Apr 2017 20:47:22
You think Waggy needs to go? He does need to go because he is useless. He shouldn't even be anywhere near the team

30 Apr 2017 21:02:22
Boyce is a free transfer. After yesterday i'd even have lafferty back he'll score more than waggy and garner at least

30 Apr 2017 20:58:49
Decent spfl player but I reckon hibs are front runners for his signature

30 Apr 2017 19:24:53
The amount of people slating PC seems bizarre when you really have a look at what players he has at his disposal. We were very poor in midfield. Who would have played instead to improve them? There isn't anyone. We needed to score goals. Other than kenny who would you pick? There is no one and in defence that's been a shambles all season. The truth is until MW cheap lower league players are replaced with quality then we can not really judge PC to his true ability. Time will tell and until then he needs us 100% behind him.

30 Apr 2017 19:37:21
Interesting article from Steven Pressley in today's paper stating the reasons for the tactics, the diamond in midfield and the 2 up top all to stop them playing out from the back and dominating. Pedro is learning fast that these players are just not good enough. I wouldn't lay all the blame at pedros feet. He has given them a chance to play his system and they have failed because they are not good enough.

30 Apr 2017 19:47:05
I agree that the players he has at his disposal are not good enough, I think that's obvious and the reason he's not getting too much flak.
The problem for me is the basic formation/ shape/ tactics he deployed for both old firm games, starting with 3 forwards against them is just asking for trouble, it basically means we have 3 virtual passengers who don't get a touch, he needed to flood the midfield, keep things tight and try to hit on the counter attack, just like Murty had us set up to do.
It's been a bad week for us all and that ejit making gestures at scott Sinclair topped it all off. The recruitment this summer is going to be really interesting I hope.

30 Apr 2017 20:30:54
Its not Peds players but he could have set the team up a lot better than he has the last 2games. let's see how he fares in the summer window when he can bring a few of his own players that he trusts and maybe a couple from Britain/ spl

30 Apr 2017 20:49:17
Blue nose

Can you please explain the how Murty managed to get a draw against them away with the same players? The same players played to a plan and formation and everyone knew what they were doing under the current manager it's clear the players haven't got a clue what is going on and the team looks a total mess.

30 Apr 2017 21:08:32
Not Pedro's players but on 2 occasions now he has chosen the wrong formation and tactics to be competitive against Celtic. Hope he has learnt the lesson. 3 upfront or even so called diamond was poor judgement. Also have no idea why we pass the initiative by spelling out the formation and tactics before hand. Poor judgement or naivety, he needs to have learned. Walter could have lined up a formation with these players and guaranteed a draw.

30 Apr 2017 21:54:28
Pedro has set the team up in exactly the formation that he would deploy if we had 11 high quality players. He is testing the players I am not sure we can knock him for that. We were at home. Nor am I sure that I want to see us set up for a draw or a narrow defeat. Reason we got a draw at parkhead was they played badly, we played ok, and we got lucky with a penalty not given.

30 Apr 2017 22:52:46
Bengy25

Murty got a draw with same players yes. Celtic were very poor that day. We were ok and still we're lucky to get 1-1.

01 May 2017 09:15:55
Not the same players

Hodson and Wallace. Two experienced full backs who nullified the threat of Celtics wide men, something we weren't able to do.

Had they been fit i would have expected Hodson and Tav one side and Beerman and Wallace the other

Our full backs had very little cover (mistakes from Tav and Beerman in both games)

01 May 2017 19:57:56
Hodson was fit and available for first match.

30 Apr 2017 18:36:17
Who is the last player before young billy gilmour that we sold for money?

30 Apr 2017 19:19:45
McLeod?

30 Apr 2017 21:03:18
Alan hutton for £9million?

30 Apr 2017 18:30:36
By my reckoning the only player who played for celtic who is new under Rodgers is Sinclair but just about every player has improved, Boyata, mcgregor Forrest etc. with limited funds (apparently) maybe investing in a top coach would be better than buying a few journeymen pros who won't overly improve the team.

30 Apr 2017 18:42:03
Exactly what i posted earlier mate

30 Apr 2017 19:29:10
The players that Celtic had were significantly better than the ragamuffin bunch of rejects that Warburton brought in. Decent money was spent on players at Parkhead whereas we went for the cheapest option available.

Even the best coach in the business couldn't turn guys like Halliday into football players!

30 Apr 2017 20:50:16
What about Dembele?

30 Apr 2017 20:52:11
Gamboa, eboue, de vries, dembele

30 Apr 2017 22:48:24
Tbh Brendas recruitment hasn't been great when you think abt it, Sinclair and Dembele aside the rest can't even get a sniff of a game. its actually a lot of players that were already there that have upped there game which has helped them

30 Apr 2017 22:53:20
Does anyone else think our problems lie with how disjointed we look i. e,2 leftys at CB, no sitting midfielder, strikers playing as wingers etc then you look at Selik and every guys playing ther natural posistions, natural wingers, striker, midfielder to break up play and a right and left sided player at each side of him, full backs that can get forward and defend

01 May 2017 12:53:25
Bengby fair points it I was referring to the players that played on Saturday

30 Apr 2017 17:05:50
Looking forward we have to be giving some of the kids a run out between now and the end of the season.
Some players should not be anywhere near the 1st team after the past two games.
We need to build for next season, this means not playing Toral or Hyndman, as neither player will be at the club.
If the media reports are true I am disappointed that Ryan Jack will be going to the MLS instead of joining us.
That being said, with limited funds and with hardly anyone wanting the players we have, next season will be much like this season.
Unless an investor comes forward who has a love for the club and sees no return on their money, then it will be very easy again for Celtic next season.
Pedro needs the board to back him with substantial cash, if not we are looking at finishing 2nd to 4th.

30 Apr 2017 20:51:23
What kids would you play in the last games? The youth teams haven't had great seasons while a lot of the younger players are out on loan and can't play

30 Apr 2017 21:57:01
I would give the Finish winger/ forward a chance.
Burt and Barjornes (excuse the spelling) .
Possibly the young centre half Wilson.
The McCrorie brothers also deserve exposure to the 1st team squad.
Let's face it, at least they would give passion and play for the jersey unlike some of the players from the past two games.

Reason the youth teams have not been great in respective leagues is due to the fact that the players are very young indeed.
The team in the under 20 league is made up of players aged 18 and below.
And therefore this has a knock on effect to the players who can then play for the other age groups.

01 May 2017 10:58:15
I would also like to see some youngsters introduced however you have already mentioned that the youth team aren't doing well in their respective league do to them being very young! surely if they're too young for the 20s and the 18s then their far too young for the 1st team!

30 Apr 2017 16:31:41
I would only keep a few players from the current squad, Foderingham, Tavernier, Wallace, Miller. Other than that we need a brand new team. Heard Caixhina is looking abroad and at the Scottish market. Much better than Brentford/ Wigan connections.

30 Apr 2017 17:40:44
JAMBO
Iam afraid we will be keeping the lot unless they want to move

30 Apr 2017 18:35:20
Keep Fod after yesterday. What for?

01 May 2017 10:59:43
keep Fod because. he's probably the best keeper in the league!

1 May 2017 11:24:15
Fod? I have watched rangers since eighties. The worst keeper we have had and yes i remember bonni ginzberg and ally flopwell. Outwith rangers fod has to be the worst keeper i have seen. 90 % of goals he loses are straight at him and saveable. Has no command of his area. Out of last 7 goals lost v celtic at fault for 4 or 5

01 May 2017 16:24:48
what a crock of Warburtons! if it wasnt for fod we would have been in a lot worse position than we are now! eyes r obviously painted on pal!

30 Apr 2017 15:23:29
Not wanting to be critical of Pedro as I know the squad inherited is very poor but you would expect an improvement with a new manager. That's two old firm games and 7 goals leaked going on 20. Hopefully when he signs his own players an improvement and better results will follow.

30 Apr 2017 15:45:10
Neil McCann yesterday achieved a win for Dundee in his first match after a run of seven defeats under Hartley. Instant improvement.

Since Warbs left we've actually went backwards from a clear second to clinging on to third in the league.

The appointment of PC was a mystery to me and sorry, nothing he has said or done gives me any optimism that we will ever get near Celtic with him in charge.

I know a lot of posters dislike Alex McLeish but does anybody really think that with Alex in charge we would have got things so disastrously wrong in the last two games against our biggest rivals?

30 Apr 2017 16:14:24
Is Caixinha still employed by Celtic? Nice cosy chats and warm hugs with Rodgers before and after the game and send the team out on the pitch with no passion or determination

30 Apr 2017 16:34:06
Celtic showed their intent with the appointment of Rodgers, the inept Rangers Board showed their failure with the appointment of Pedro. This is no disrespect to our new manager but to compete with Celtic we needed to go and get a top ten EPL Manager or a top European Manager and then bankroll them to do what was necessary to win the league.

All of the above said there are very good quality players in South America and Pedro could bring in a new spine, goalkeeper, centre backs, hard tackling quality midfield players and a good strong striker. Unfortunately he won't do that with the rumoured £3m budget. He needs 10 times that amount.

It is now time for King and Co to put up the funds or find someone to take us forward. We need someone with a forward thinking strategy not an absentee landlord!

30 Apr 2017 17:54:07
FFS

Now is not the time for King to put up the money.

The transfer window is CLOSED and no point in showing your hand at the moment.
Why does he need to come to the game to prove he is committed? Plenty good bears in USA, Oz, Erskine Hospital who never get to games doesn’t mean they are any the less for it.

If you don’t like King the answer is simple; buy his shares and own the club.

30 Apr 2017 17:56:25
TOMUSA, same old same old!

Who is that saviour on a white horse that you thing is waiting to give us a blank cheque?

Celtic brought in Rodgers because they knew Dalia was not good enough, but they would not have done it without a sound financial base. they went through pain to get there just the way we are having to.

Do you really think that King and the other board members are sitting on their backsides watching their millions in soft loans disappear for ever?

Just maybe these hugely successful businessmen have a plan?

30 Apr 2017 20:06:40
I completely agree Naz. McLeish would have been a no brainer for me. It's done now so we just need to get on with it.

30 Apr 2017 20:21:48
Think we should give Pedro time and I'm glad he came in when he did .
After yesterday's performance he will def know who to keep and what he needs and I'm sure it will be better than what we have.

Think having having Pedro Mendes as a good friend and ex player who loved his time at us will prove crucial. We will see better quality, and also add one or two of the young ones to the squad.

1 May 2017 11:25:08
Pedro mendez loved his time with us? He did well but if memory serves me correctly he wanted out after 1 year.

30 Apr 2017 15:13:12
Does anybody else think that yesterday's result could be a blessing in disguise. Pedro is taking some flak but that was MW team. The board must back the manager with serious cash a patch up job will notice suffice.

30 Apr 2017 15:43:30
Ive heard that ( blessing in disguise) te quite a lot. When we lost the play off against Motherwell it was a blessing in disguise cause we were not ready to come up. When we lost the cup final last season it was a blessing in disguise cause it would make Warbs buy better players. didn't work out.

30 Apr 2017 15:54:14
I wouldn't be surprised at us signing a couple of decent enough Scottish players, some Portuguese journeymen and a big name has-been, who'll all be hyped up by our PR company but who won't make a significant improvement to our hopes of catching up on the East Enders.

30 Apr 2017 16:03:15
The board will back the manager with some funds but not enough as they don't have it and don't have accees to financial markets to raise it. No one will come in while ashley remains in the background and the club can't raise cash through shirt sales. I fear dark days ahead for a good few years.

30 Apr 2017 16:40:43
I have heard the figure of £3m quoted as the sum that will be given to Pedro, even a bloody magician couldn't secure a league winning team with that sort of budget. Warburton made some very poor buys but given the pathetically poor budget he had to take risks and they failed. The simple comparison in what we brought in and what our arch enemies brought in can be summed up with one signing. They brought Sinclair and he destroyed us yesterday. We did not bring in one player that comes close to him in quality.

Pedro must be given what is needed in order to target success next season but sadly it is unlikely to happen with our current Chairman and his inept Board. They are lacking in strategy, they have no plans for the future and right now it looks like they don't have a plan for the present.

We heard all the usual King bull last time he materialised but nothing since although no doubt with season ticket renewal looming we will get more fiction from him shortly!

30 Apr 2017 15:08:11
Read pedro is looking for players in the scottish market aswell as south america and other foreign markets. I think that's what the fans would like to see, some foreign flair/ muscle with a few of the better sfpl players who'll understand the league a bit more. It's far better shout than raiding the english championship/ league 1 for injury prone duds all the time who had brentford or watford connections.

30 Apr 2017 16:42:24
Some very good players currently in Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Columbia. Would be very happy to see five or six coming in although I would love to know where he is going to get the funding since we won't get the proper quality for nothing!

30 Apr 2017 21:04:23
Could be worth a few rough diamonds to be found

30 Apr 2017 14:00:24
I have not posted on here for a wee while I was leaving it for a while but after the last few weeks things have been worse than it has been for a long time

1. Pedro will be gone by xmas
2. They players need to go except miller
3. King either needs to put up or go
4. 2nd place along way off for a few years
5. Never seen the place empty like that after 60mins
6. 4-3-3 needs to be axed
7. Major investment needed
8. New owner required
9. New squad needed
10. Going for 55 long way away

Pains me to post this but that mob are streets ahead of us honestly we need to voice our opinions to
The board through peaceful protests or we will be a laughing stock for years to come and they will win 10 plus if we don't do anything.

30 Apr 2017 14:14:43
Can you also give your solutions to your suggestions?

30 Apr 2017 14:29:30
So get rid of the manager, players and chairman?

Pedro doesn't even get the chance to bring in some of his own players? Players that can play on the position that we need?

Get rid of King and bring in who? Green? Whyte? Ashley?

Play what formation. Warburton only bought players for that formation (see point one about giving Pedro more time)

Remember that under Delia, Celtic were rubbish. Rodgers brought on 2/ 3 players and there has been a huge change.

30 Apr 2017 14:33:02
We have to give the manager time, what's the use of spending 600k to get him out early then spending a million axing him, we need to give him time
The playing squad are a shambles at least he came out and said they aren't good enough which they aren't celtic played some fantastic football and brenda has put confidence through there whole team, the young players are good tierney could be class as i think he's a fantastic talent.
We have to let the manager do his thing and give him time

30 Apr 2017 14:34:07
I have to say, after being at the game yesterday, yes Celtic are streets ahead of us. It was stupid to think that after promotion that it was going to be easy to challenge. Yes we deserve better, players to at least play with pride and hunger, this is lacking but I blame Warburton as all those players were his, hence why he jumped ship, he knew he got it wrong. Give Pedro a chance let him bring in some players we need 6 very good first team starters and mixed with the players who have ability but are being dragged down by the mediocracy that they are playing with. Lionel Messi would look poor in that team and they proved that yesterday and last season, as with some quality additions and time with a new coach they are looking like a real team under Rodgers but were terrible under Delia. We need to give Pedro the time and backing to build his team and yes to do this the Board needs to STUMP up the money to invest in the Squad as it is piss poor and we need players that have been in the habit of winning games in their career that will then bread a winning mentality cross the whole squad. RANT OVER

30 Apr 2017 14:57:23
We are all hurting. Clearly as a club we are streets behind celtic and need serious investment or the best we can hope for is a strong 2nd for years to come but we need to be patient.

There are off-field issues that need to be resolved before we can grow. The manager has come in to an impossible position with the squad he has and the huge games so soon. Judge him by xmas. Hopefuly by then merchandise situation and court cases should be sorted and money can come in.

30 Apr 2017 15:00:09
The comment that the Board need to stump up the money to invest makes me laugh. Is this not the same pressure put on Murray before Rangers went bust? The Board need to run the club out of the money it generates. They don't need to do anything else. Why would Parks and co directors just flush millions away yet again so you can pay a few hundred quid a year for a season ticket. Rangers supporters need to get real. Club managed worse than a corner shop for years. Rangers may not grt a league winning team back for 5 years or even more but thete is no doubt that it will eventually happen privided the team are still in existance which they won't be if they continue to borrow money they can't pay back.

30 Apr 2017 16:50:05
We need a Board with a strategy for the future. The current lot don't even have a strategy for the present! Our Chairman hides away in South Africa and generally only materialises when he wants something, like a boycott or Season Ticket renewals.

We heard all the sound bytes from him about renegotiating the deal with Sports Direct etc., but nothing has materialised and no update although inevitably more bullshit will follow come May and season ticket renewals.

What is the answer, at least replace King and with someone that has the credibility to renegotiate the Sports Direct deal. It is not helping anyone and the time is right for renegotiation with us back in Europe. We need funding for quality players. Quality players will not guarantee a run in Europe but it will give us more chance of reaching the final stages. That in turn gets theSponsors name known across Europe, (something that will never happen with Newcastle) . Perhaps contact should be made with the ex-owner of Crystal Palace or with Souness and Kennedy. Something needs to be done since we will not make progress under King.

30 Apr 2017 17:28:09
Need someone to buy us or we buy our club and Pedro is inept and it's has been proved against that mobb wrong appointment by the so called rangers men on the board Murty should have been in charge until now and de boer
Should have been installed as the new manger for the season coming

30 Apr 2017 20:04:34
Southsideger, a simple question for you mate! If rangers were to get rid of pedro caixinha before Christmas, who would you want the rangers board to go for, as the next manager? I say we HAVE to give pedro caixinha TIME to build his own team and then and only then, is the correct time to judge the guy! Our club has to at the very least, give caixinha a full season at it, with his own players!

after watching that shambles yesterday it`s obvious we need a cash injection, as the squad is not good enough. it pains me to say but celtic are more talented in every dept. not knowing what funds will be available and merchandise situation still up in the air we are in dire straits.
I am willing to donate 50pounds say, call it a transfer fund and having a global fan base we could generate money for players. the supporters trust could handle the cash and fans could nominate a possible transfer target I`m sure pedro would be willing to listen to fans helping out as he seems a decent guy. the forum could do a poll with player suggestions.
I know some fans are thinking buying season tickets they are doing there bit which is true.
But this calls for desperate measures.

if it was up to me I would buy callum Paterson from hearts big and young good in the air chips in with a few goals good with long throws ticks all the boxes.

30 Apr 2017 17:16:18
Is that the same world wide fan base that let Rangers 1872 die? How much was it you raised to try to save the club? £200k? Lol

30 Apr 2017 20:07:36
Yep Bluebear. I think that is a great shout. £50 from every fan. Think how much that would generate

30 Apr 2017 11:55:09
Honest opinion, if things don't dramatically improve next season then we could be in celtics shadow for a very long time and it pains me to say it. But one thing celtic supporters should be honest about is were it not for the terrible and despicable mis management of our great club, none of this would be the case.

Rangers are dreadful to say the least atm. Quite possibly the worst rangers side ever? But I also think we are watching the best celtic side I've ever seen. (Im 28 btw so can't remember anything before the late 80's) so there's hope that celtic can't possibly repeat this next season?

The whole club has lost its identity and unless things change soon I dread to think what will become of us. Bill struth will be turning in his grave at the state of our club. All the celtic supporters that come on here will have their opinion on me, but I am an honest man and rangers have a lot of work to do.

I'm a very sad supporter today and have never felt this low as a rangers fan tbh. Things can only get better (as the song goes) a solid second, a cup and a half decent run in Europe next season will be improvement. I can only hope.

It certainly can't get much worse. Rant over. Congratulations to celtic. You are far and away the best team. Albeit in a poor league.

30 Apr 2017 12:13:53
Well said an honest summary of the current position. The vast majority of that team yesterday just don't get it how bad this feels and i'm not sure thay actually care. They are and have been a disgrace to the jersey and some on the bench even sit and smirk while we are being humiliated at home by our greatest rivals. Get rid of most of them they should be ashamed. Jock Wallace would have booted the two smirkers out the front door yesterday afternoon.

30 Apr 2017 12:16:54
If you are 28 how do you remember the late 80s? 🤔

30 Apr 2017 12:28:42
This celtic team isn't the best team ever. No where near as good as Martin O'Neil's best team. This is the worst spl rangers team though.

30 Apr 2017 12:34:13
No chance of a European run next season in less mega dosh is invested and I don't mean 5 -10 million we need a whole new team no more freebies and 250,000 lower English crap

30 Apr 2017 12:41:32
Dunoonbluebear

Growing up in the sixties with Celtic winning Championship one after another was tough .

It will get better again maybe not soon but it will. Meantime baton down the hatches.

30 Apr 2017 12:52:05
Oneils team was much better than the present team plus they were up against good Rangers players i. e, Fergoson, Deboer, Mols, Caniggia etc. no doubt this Selik team are good but we are horrendous and that's me puting it mildly. i also don't think throwing millions at it either is the answer, yes we need 5 good players at least but Selik only had Sinclair in the team yesterday that wasnt there last yr yet everyone of them looks fresher, fitter, stronger than us and to me that's just down to good management/ coaching.

30 Apr 2017 13:28:57
Just been looking at the league tables. We are only 6 points clear of st johnstone with 4 games left. We have to play Dons, saints, thistle and hearts. The way we played yesterday i wouldn't put money on beating any one of them. We desperatley need europe next season.

30 Apr 2017 13:53:25
Boaz don't base anything on the Celtic result. Pedro has got his tactics so wrong against Celtic yet again. He wants to attack and against Hearts, St Johnson etc it will work 8 times out of 10. When it gets to Celtic the players lack of ability and that's what it is gets shown up. The only way Rangers could have played was to try and shut up shop and nick one off a set piece. Instead he took Celtic on and it could have been 7 or 8 never mind 5. Its going to be like that for years as Rangers have a better chance of going bust than they have of King and co giving Pedro £10mill to spend in the summer. With the gulf in class and no money to spend how many season tickets will get sold, so its less revenue next year. With the current squad Rangers may find it difficult to qualify for Europa place so its not looking too good. The Celtic result is just the start of the pain

30 Apr 2017 13:52:24
Martin oneills celtic team got results, but is the only celtic side in history who played horrible defensive ugly football.

30 Apr 2017 14:35:32
Disagree with some of these posts.

Yes we need investment, but it's more important we get the right players in regardless of price. Players need to be more tactically aware, Pedro has not had enough time to undo the system that Warburton installed.

So many individual mistakes from players who are not following the managers tactics.

So as much as we are hurting, we need to give Pedro time to get things running his way. Time as they say, heals all wounds

30 Apr 2017 14:43:18
Not that i'm sticking up for them but i think that's doing them a disservice. they had cracking players and as much as i hate to say, they had some great performances in the CL at home

30 Apr 2017 15:33:12
Winning 10 in a row only gives the bragging rights over your foes across the city. In dosent make you a great team. To the rest of the world it makes your league look kiernan.

30 Apr 2017 17:01:22
In the late 1960's when Celtic had the best team in Europe, Rangers were very close behind. Under the Souness revolution when we dominated Scottish Football, Celtic were a decent side and there were other good sides such as Aberdeen and Dundee United. At this moment in time Celtic are out of sight. Aberdeen is there nearest challengers and they are a million miles away. We are so far out of sight that it is frightening.

Other than the 38 year old Kenny Miller there is not one player in the current team that merits being at Rangers. We might be lucky and see a fully fit Rossiter and Krancjar next season but I doubt it. We have two full backs, great going forward but woeful defending, we need full backs that can do both. We need two quality centre backs. Basically we need a new team!

Just to add to our problems we currently have an absentee landlord as our Chairman. A guy that only turns up when he wants a boycott or wants new season ticket sales. He has no strategy for the future and doesn't't even have a strategy for the present. Up till now he has had financial support from good honest Rangers men but these guys are not strategists and they can't keep bailing out King for ever. Either King needs to prove tat he is willing to put in serious money or give his shares to someone that will do this.

30 Apr 2017 20:08:05
O'Neills team would have horsed the current team. As would the 2008 Rangers team assembled by Walter Smith. Yesterday the manager got it horribly wrong. We were overrun in midfield. Murty got the tactics spot on at their place and could have come away with three points tbh

30 Apr 2017 11:50:18
Think we're letting young beerman off the hook guys his tackle for the penalty was a disgrace and am no buying the inexperienced excuse it was a rush a blood to the head and the 2nd goal big Wes blundered as well he went down too early we can't give that lot a 2 goal start.

30 Apr 2017 12:53:48
I agree Dazza, you learn when your a wee boy not to go to ground, especially when the guys going towards the corner flag

30 Apr 2017 13:52:13
If tav was doing his job right the 2nd goal would not have happened. As for beerman of course you have to give him a bit of leeway we are crying out for young players getting a chance and when 1 makes a mistake in the heat of an old firm game he's slaughtered.! Better and more experienced players than him have made mistakes and rash tackles in old firm games.

30 Apr 2017 13:52:52
Wasn't a free kick in the build up to the penalty, Roberts dived to win it leading up.

30 Apr 2017 14:36:55
Wes has been at fault for 4 goals in the last 2 games.

Let's give Alnwick a chance

30 Apr 2017 20:10:07
I think Wes has done well overall but would like to see Alnwick given the jersey for the last 4 games.

30 Apr 2017 10:46:21
No one is sure if Pedro will have any funds for transfers but I think it would be £3 or £4 at very best. Celtic msy spend £6 or £7mill so the quality gap will not close. So what does success look like. Rangers won't win the title next season but if Rangers supporters don't define success then Pedro will get pelters and he may walk as well. Who cares i hear you say but the same thing will happen with the next Pedro so you have to define success. For Celtic its a treble snd CL last 16 so if they achieve that there is nothing fir anyone else. Rangers won't beat Celtic next season. May get a draw or 2 but over 4 games will win less points. So it means beating all the other teams. Maybe not even winning a cup but consistantly beating the rest and winning well. That would get Rangers to maybe 12 or 15 points behind Celtic. That is success. Rangers fans may not like that but those are the facts. Celtic will again outspend Rangers in transfers this summer so all Pedro can do is beat the rest then see how the land lies the season after if he is still there. His tactics are to attack and that should be goid enough against everyone except Celtic. He will need to learn how to win a point against them

30 Apr 2017 13:53:33
Celtic will spend a couple of million on someone like borini who won't improve them at all.

30 Apr 2017 15:05:44
Cee how do you know who Celtic will spend their money on? To be fair they don't actually need to buy anyone to win the league next season anyway they only need imorovements for CL. Also they have money. can't see Pedro getting much.

30 Apr 2017 10:19:34
What'd you guys think we need more of? Foreign talent or, young promising Scottish players? Looking at successful rangers teams it's always been a mix. We need a tougher midfield and tougher defence who know what it means to play for rangers. We also need attackers who'll bang in goals. Would love to see Weiss back at rangers though. Players like young Liam Lindsay, John Souttar, give them time and they'll be brilliant defenders. Would like to see Ryan Jack, James Maddison, Jamie Walker ect come in would be good additions and would grow into brilliant players.

30 Apr 2017 14:02:16
We. Red players who play with pride and passion for starters, these useless don't know what it means to be a Ranger

30 Apr 2017 14:39:11
We need players who understand the systems Pedro wants to play. Doesn't matter if you are a Rangers man or no.

All players will become Rangers men once they experience the atmosphere (excluding some idiots like the ones we saw yesterday)

30 Apr 2017 17:05:34
We need a mixture of hungry quality players. Guys that grew up on the streets like you used to get in Scotland. They are there if we have the funds to bring them in from South America. A mixture of quality young Scots, maybe two or three, five or six from South America and then our injured players assuming they stay fit and some of our better youngsters. Get rid of all these wasters from yesterday!

30 Apr 2017 07:53:07
I'm going to attempt to take some positives from the game (note that I say I'm trying! )
Beerman- the kids only 18 and has played a handful of professional games vs one of the top young English wingers in britain. He will grow and learn from that and be better for next season. Miller was again our best player. Heart, guts and a well taken goal. its a shame he scores only 1 in 3 attempts! Dodoo looked bright in the first 15mins but he isn't a winger. Get him up front. Now for the negatives. Waggie is dreadful. Hyndman was dreadful, bates should have played as Wilson and hill are too left footed. Tavs was back to his usual awful defending and to play 3 in the middle of the park with 3 strikers was a terrible call. Constantly overrun in midfield and the wingbacks were left helpless. 4-5-1 with miller sitting as an AM behind the striker (dodoo) would have been better. I don't undersrand why Toral hasn't played In the OF games. anyone know?

30 Apr 2017 09:28:53
The most alarming thing for me is'nt the ability, its the phsyicallity, strength and fitness between both sides. i lost count how many times dodoo, waggy, hyndman got brushed aside

30 Apr 2017 09:29:44
You failed to mention our super subs Halliday and Gardner both hopeless causes against that lot

30 Apr 2017 09:34:47
Dodoo was hiding yesterday and clearly doesn't fancy the physical nature of the fixture. Beerman gave away a needless penalty however hopefully he will improve. Waghorn is awful and it's baffling why the manager keeps picking him.

30 Apr 2017 09:53:00
Good post TOTS, and agree with the positives listed. If Beerman has character he will emerge stronger very quickly. Dodoo is a striker who can have an occasional impact playing wide but first and foremost is a striker. MIller is immense and a leader. For the second week running very disappointed how the manager set up the team and a much tighter formation was required to play on the break. Lack of cuteness and guile but early days for this manager. Have heard rumours that Toral has spit the dummy.

30 Apr 2017 10:48:29
Only player that didn't look scared of Celtic was kenny Miller maybe also hill but as for the rest they should just have bent over.

30 Apr 2017 10:53:10
I never thought i'd say this but we better hope celtic at least draw with st johnstone next week cause its possible we could lose 3rd place.?

30 Apr 2017 14:49:20
We won't lose third place. I don't put much weight into the Celtic game as right now they are the best team in the league by far.

We need players that can perform the instructions that the manager gives, we don't have that. Too many individual mistakes that were punished.

Other teams around us don't have the same quality to punish those mistakes. We will finish third (even fourth place gets European football), as long as we get that we will have made progress.

If five years ago you offered me the Europa league, I would have taken it. Every year is progression and for those they say it isn't or want it quicker remember what happened to Leeds and Gretna (let's me sensible and not end up back in the third tier)

30 Apr 2017 07:37:50
A fit Rossiter, Windass and Crooks
Add Callum Paterson, Kenny McLean, Graeme Dorrans, Christophe Berra, Kyle Lafferty and a couple of foreign boys = a vastly improved Rangers, the rest is down to the manager.

30 Apr 2017 08:27:00
Berra, Dorrans and Lafferty will have no sale value and the club needs players which they can sell on at a profit. I rate Dorrans, I'd even be inclined to take Lafferty back, even though I though he was a donkey when he was with us, he would be an improvement on what we have. Berra is a now for me. Too old, too slow and only good in the air. I'd take Paterson, Mclean, Jack, Walker any day of the week as they are better players than what we have.

30 Apr 2017 08:39:13
That would be not far off the garbage we have now.
Patterson out up for another 4 months.
Lafferty is rubbish offers nothing
Bera is shambles
Dorrans would be good
McLean unsure of. Better than what we have.
There are no players in SPL worth taking. Should be looking at eastern Europe. Hungry Serbia Bosnia Albania
This wanting Scottish players is garbage. The are rubbish in international games.

30 Apr 2017 09:22:01
Hey Jamie- I'd be inclined to disagree about bo players in the SPL being worth taking. I'd be interested in Jack/ Souttar/ walker/ Lindsay of Partick to name a few. Not because they are great players, but they have potential.

30 Apr 2017 09:22:52
Don't you remember what happened when Le Guen filled our team with foreign players? All the best rangers teams assembled without spending £30mil+ have had strong Scottish talent. What we need is not a team of Pedro Mendeses, we need players like McCulloch, Thomson, Weir etc. who know what the Scottish game is all about.

There are plenty of players in Scotland who are very than what we have, hence why half of them have beat us this season! Liam Lindsay, Crawford, Jack, Paterson, McLean, Walker, Boyce and Hayes but to name a few.

30 Apr 2017 09:32:07
Now is not the time to worry abt sell on value, its now a race against time to stop the dreaded 10 and if that means bringing in guys like Laff, Naisy and Dorrans then so be it

30 Apr 2017 10:03:57
Don't really understand the obsession with 10, might make a decent song but much more important will be that we get our house in order, demonstrate progress and be ready to take our chance when we get momentum and they inevitably dip.

30 Apr 2017 10:30:51
This talk of ten in a row, i know its a statistic both sides of glasgow would be proud of but i think the green side are forgetting that we weren't in those league races for the past 4 years, even including this one! Its not viable to me but as i said it would be something to be proud of, the days of 9 in a row was challenging because both teams were in it

30 Apr 2017 12:12:01
JLS- 'Now is not the time to worry abt sell on value, its now a race against time to stop the dreaded 10 and if that means bringing in guys like Laff, Naisy and Dorrans then so be it'

Oh dear, it would seem we haven't learned from the past. You would hope that the days of buying players and not investing in players were well past us. If Murray had had some foresight back in the 90s, we would be in a far better situation.

30 Apr 2017 13:05:37
The guys i mentioned won't cost a fortune to bring in tho. Warburton went down that rd of getting young players in with sell on value and look how that's going. we'd be lucky to get 5m for our entire squad and that's no joke. Cannon if u don't understand the obsession with 10iar you must just have started supporting Rangers last wk mate. and Daz do you really think Selik care that we wernt in the league for 4 seasons and got deducted 10pnts in the 1st season? the short answer is'do they hell" because if it was roles reversal you and i wouldn't be caring would we?

30 Apr 2017 07:34:56
Is it just me or do others agree. How bad is our Goalie? Yeah he makes the odd decent save but he's never a 'great' goalie. He never wins high balls and always looks nervous. Time to give the other guy a turn in goal.

30 Apr 2017 08:31:34
He's a decent shot stopper, but he was left defenseless (quite literally) . Last week clearly knocked his confidence when he should have come to get the ball at the edge of the box instead of leaving it to Tav to cover last week for the penalty. Griffiths shot went right across his body for that 2nd, which is save able, but he clearly wasn't prepared for it. I can't really knock him. He has been one of our best players this season, but I guess he is the best of a bad bunch. Time to see what Alnwick has got in my opinion. No point having a young highly rated goalie sat on the bench every week without seeing what he is capable of.

30 Apr 2017 09:37:09
I think Fods the least of our probs tbh. i wouldn't actually blame the defence much tbh, i think the problem lies in the middle of the park, whoever plays in midfield is weak physically, can't defend, can't get forward to help the strikers. if you have a strong midfield it goes a long way to being a good team

30 Apr 2017 10:27:29
Fod has been one of best players all season so a bit harsh to be critisising him now. Should have come for cross that resulted in goal yesterday and commanded the box better, but how many certain goals has he saved this season. Having said that would like to see the new lad in at least one of the four remaining matches.

30 Apr 2017 11:21:42
It's a domino effect, the midfield are weak, the defence have to work harder and are weak out wide and finally the goalkeeper is left to deal with non-stop shooting practice.

Obviously you are going to concede goals, no keeper can stop every shot.

He makes mistakes but most are avoidable if we get a stronger outfield players in front of him.

As Fd said, foderingham has been one of our best players.

I would agree that we need to see Alnwick in for a few games though, foderingham must need a rest by now.

30 Apr 2017 12:44:57
In my opinion he's a liability. Defence starts with the goalie. Not good enough. I fear every time a shot is taken

30 Apr 2017 14:54:35
He has been responsible for 4 goals in the last two weeks. Making a couple of good saves does not make up for everything he does wrong.

Can't command his box, looks like he gets the ball caught in his feet with every pass back, distribution has been poor, won't come off his line, and can't catch.

Decent shot stopper though, let's see what Alnwick has to offer

30 Apr 2017 05:08:25
{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Zonal Marking Gets A Bad Press

01 May 2017 11:35:33
Must admit I was always old school in my thinking about defending corners etc but it was probably more to do with lack of knowledge. At the end of the day you would hope the players are talented enough to follow the instructions for whatever system is deployed.

30 Apr 2017 03:04:56
Don't think I've seen a bigger bunch of kiernanbags in my life. would kill for Ian ferguson right now and the mongos running onto the pitch is a ****ing disgrace. Yes totally pumped again but take it like a man. ps the guy had the worst jobby catchers av seen 😂😂😂.

30 Apr 2017 10:57:51
Is tjere a more obnoxious prick tham leigh griffiths

29 Apr 2017 23:57:38
I have said many times over the past year or so that Warburton was a failure as manager. He signed a bunch of duds who are not fit to wear the jersey. He done more harm than good in the 18 months he was in charge. This current team are a total disgrace. Weak and lacking any ability. Some of these players would struggle in division 2. Time for a total clearout. Put the whole team up for sale and take any reasonable offer for any if these players. mass cull needed asap. Cracks are already starting to appear in pedros short reign but he must be given time to build his own team. Only then can he be judged fairly.

30 Apr 2017 00:27:43
Hard to disagree

30 Apr 2017 01:21:15
I completely agree about the team being crap and getting rid of the vast majority of them but I am beginning to get slightly concerned with Pedro. Why does he feel the need to tell everyone his tactics before just about every game? And why would you play a 4-3-3 again after last weekend. Stevie Wonder could've seen that we needed to play 5 in midfield after the last game but yet again he let's them run riot up the wings against a right back who doesn't track back and an inexperienced left back.

30 Apr 2017 05:06:50
Unless Pedro is given serious money to bring in quality he will struggle to compete with this Celtic team and any other manager will be the same. King is now faced with a simple decision, find the investment or find someone that will invest and disappear into the South African undergrowth.

30 Apr 2017 11:25:06
The problem is, does Pedro have any experience to take the club forward or to sign decent players? We cannot afford to waste any money like Warburton did on duds and I really think Pedro is on massive gamble?!

30 Apr 2017 11:27:52
As you say simple as. If he's not keen should step aside and let Red Bull take over unless one of the many other wealthy investors queueing up to take over a financially struggling Scottish team put in a better offer!
