Well let's put templenton rumour to bed in squad tonight. Obviously no contact from clubs as really would they play a player that's head is somewhere else. Rather than a player that's future lies with hearts. Just a thought

Believable4 Unbelievable5

He was Hearts best player tonite - BBC says he is 1 to watch - if English scouts have - he will be heading down south

As far as I know diouf has only signed on a pay as you play deal and is free to talk to any team he wishes

Diouf on Non Contract @ leeds. So could walk away. But I've just read the article. No where does it say he's returning to the Gers. Hope he does tho

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Why? He was rubbish.

Agree2 Disagree0

Please tell me u dont believe what ur writing that u want diouf back , he is an absolute knob, imagine him against elgin city away in january , f@@k me he hardly turned up in the spl games on a sunny afternoon at ibrox.

Guys, just a thought but (with all due respect to our competitors) now we are competing against lesser skilled players, is there an argument for us upping the average age and winning through guile rather than out and out pace/ skill. how many times have you seen a 40 year old make a plonker of a 20 year old upstart.

I also don't think we are leveraging our history as much as we should be.

Could there even be an argument to send out an SOS to a clutch of 40 somethin Former bears, whilst they may not choose to play in the 3rd if they are sold it as reestablishing THE British football institution that are the Rangers they may just rally to the cause.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

And you wonder why us tims are glued to this site ??this is the sort of amusing entertainment we are looking for keep it up ya mad bunch of loonies ...

Agree3 Disagree2

Lol you're nuts!

Agree3 Disagree0

That's next year mate when the current mercenaries have moved on. No Plan B until Plan A has been tried.

Agree1 Disagree1

'leveraging your history' ...... This is why I didn't sleep a wink for four months......laughing myself into hysterics every night thinking about Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree1

The past 6 months has clearly been irrecoverable for some mad crazy loons.
Hopefully not all bears won't recover..

good evening all, just thinking about the mcoist situation, it could be that hes bedding in a new team and that takes time , but personally i think its because no one takes him seriously. if you look at his persona ie cheeky chappie, patter merchant on QOS, done another comedy show wi fred mcauley, if hes like that wi your players no one will take to him, think about it for a min lads as im not on here to cause trouble but im sure weve all worked wi ppl like that and 9 times out of ten the majority just think that the workmates a daftie. i think you need a no nonscence gaffer that can inspire and i dont think mcoist can. if he does leave you should look at a terry buthcher type gaffer. just my thought gentlemen and ladies. not out to offend .................bhoywonder

Believable6 Unbelievable8

I get the point mate it's a bit like having Stan Bordman or whatever his name managing Liverpool. Loads of laughs, no respect, no results. Jester Coisty.

Agree2 Disagree2

And likewise with your manager. someone with dignity and who shows respect to opponents whether in victory or defeat not like some dafties. just commenting its all banter ,

Agree3 Disagree1

Not offended at all but ever player who has played with him or for him say he has a temper in the dressing room and hates loosing.

Agree2 Disagree0

2. mcoist and lennon both need to learn to control it when things dont go their way imo. 3. is that a good thing that he has a temper?. if hes shouting and bawling at players, especially younger ones the fear factor will creep in, but not in a good way.walter smith had a temper but channelled it the right way, players would run thru walls for smith but i cant see it with mcoist...............bhoywonder

Is the deal done with mr Newcastle? If so why we not looking at a few of there prospects to strengthen

Believable1 Unbelievable6

The idea is for Rangers to supply emerging talent to Newcastle on the cheap as the Geordies training feeder team.

Agree1 Disagree0

What happened to the Newcastle loan players?

For a guy who is referred for his "great guy" persona am I the only one thinks McCoist seems to be overly touchy and someone who will hold a grudge if he has a disagreement with a player? We had Fleck 2 years ago....Wylde last season...and now it appears Hutton is the one sent to Coventry. It's one thing showing you're the boss but altogether something more to show you can move on and continue working together for the greater good of the club. Just look at Walters handling of Ferguson and especially McGregor after "booze gate". In my opinion McCoist has fallen short on a number of points since becoming manager last year but his man management skills...or lack of...is one of the more concerning. Last years mess with Administration spared McCoist but now that things are settling down, for me he has to start showing by the end of the first season quarter he has a team fully behind him the very same way Smith had. Smiths squad literally would have taken a bullet for him!

SPM

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Not so sure that they literally would have done that.

Agree2 Disagree2

Might it just be that Wylde, Fleck and especially Hutton are p@sh?

Agree2 Disagree3

Mccoist has always been like that, even as a player

Agree3 Disagree1

30 Aug 2012 18:24:51
It appears to me there is either a distinct lack of quality and/or faith in what Murray Park is producing. McCoist seems determined to bring in anyone from outside opposed to internal promotion...and don't start me on the treatment of Kyle Hutton by McCoist. So my point is, why keep such an expensive extravagance such is MP when it's not serving its purpose? Charlie should sell the land and with whatever proceeds he makes pimp it back into the club for much needed working capital.

SPM

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Absolutely agree, we still get the Murray Park is not producing players. The simple fact is that a piece of grass has never and will never produce a player. Talent and good coaching produces good players. I would remind you that we won the cup winners cup training in the car park.

Agree2 Disagree0

Murray Park is a training facility for the Rangers squad. It has never been or received planning permission to be a Youth Academy which it isn't.
I think it was a Rangers supporting tabloid hack who first referenced MP as a youth academy, which wasn't correct.

I'm a gers fan before I start, the Scotland manager is a joke, no Scott brown or Kris commons in squad for next 2 games, the guy is as clueless as ally. {Ed039's Note - The guy is a joke)

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Scott Brown is injured, played through it last night but now out for 2/3 weeks. Commons should be there though after the start hes had this season

Mikey Bhoy

Agree9 Disagree2

I couldnt care less whos in the Scotland team, but there is no way you can even compare an imbecile like McCoist to Levein, he may not play everyones choice but look at the utter pish McCoist has signed and then got rid of, I mean Ortiz ffs as much a footballer as McCoist is a manager

Agree10 Disagree12

If ur a gers fan why worry about Scotland hope they get pumped. As for brown he's injured plays in games but struggles to train during the week

Agree2 Disagree4

Ally's in desperation street now. Any recommendation from any ex player and ally will sign them. It'll only get worse.

Agree1 Disagree3

I am a Gers fan, but I'll take the world cup for Scotland before I would see any Scots team win a european cup. And another thing, start wavin The Saltire on a saturday instead of either that English Union Jack or that Irish tricolour. Or better still, just enjoy the fitba and gee religion a rest, its aw pish.

If we have a transfer embargo, surely we can't sell players in that time either because we would then need players to cover their positions. {Ed039's Note - we can but it would be silly to)

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We don't have a transfer embargo.

We are not allowed to register any players.

There is a distinct difference.

Agree2 Disagree3

Would you be so kind as to detail the difference to someone as thick as me .. please .

Agree4 Disagree0

No 1 ... its not that your wrong its just that your not correct ( in your own form of thinking )

Agree0 Disagree0

@2. Transfers can be in or out of a club. Being unable to register players only affects players coming in.
I think that was the point 1.) was making related to what the OP posted.
Al
Al

Agree1 Disagree0

Rangers can sign as many guys as they like, whenever they want, and pay them wages..... No embargo. But those guys cannot be registered with the SFA to play football for Rangers in Scotland.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not allowed to register players isn't exactly correct. We can still register players providing they are under 18

just want to say thanks to septic for the champions league wins...and im sure charlie is extatic as our co-efficient rises and hopefully will rise again in the next 3 years just as the rangers fc make a european comeback........deecee

Believable3 Unbelievable20

Getting to the CL is not enough for our co-efficient, unless Celtic can remain in Europe after Christmas then we will be losing our second CL spot.

Agree2 Disagree4

Decay,it will be years before you see the CL again.nice to see you backing Green though, bout time you made your mind up.

Agree7 Disagree0

Just type it as you say it lol

Agree2 Disagree0

You are in dreamland, all wrapped up nice and cosy in a blanket made of delusion and denial. Rangers died, and 'the Rangers' will go the way of the dodo too. In the meantime, enjoy dross football and the ramshackle cup.

Agree6 Disagree3

@1. read Doncaster's statement in the report on the BBC website.
4 co-efficient ranking points for qualifying for the group stage and additional ones for wins and draws in the group stage. Looks like the co-efficient is set to rise.
SPL also receive £1.5m to distribute to other 11 SPL teams. I guess financial meltdown will have to wait.
Al

Agree4 Disagree2

You wont be making any comeback in three year it will be the fifth year before you play in europe ... 3rd 2nd 1st and youll need to qualify in your 4th year in spl to play the next

Agree7 Disagree1

@5, in order to get the points for wins or draws you will actually have to.....wait for it....get a win or a draw. There will be one CL place for Scotland by the time Rangers are back in the top flight,

Surely it's plain to see McCoist isn't right man for gers his record speaks for itself and tatics in 3rd division r shocking Peterhead and Berwick rangers played better football than us while we punted the ball up the park, new manager, new coaches get promising youngers in play some football and build for future!

Believable15 Unbelievable12

Honest post mate. But Green will use McCoist until max season tickets sold and share issue completed before punting him.

Agree8 Disagree8

With youngsters our future will be in div three. The youngsters are not good enough, simples

Agree4 Disagree5

I think your best bet is to go for Billy Reid, brought hamilton through the lower divisions into the SPL and wasnt afraid to give youth a chance

Mikey Bhoy {Ed039's Note - I like billy Reid, done a good job wi Hamilton)

Agree5 Disagree6

Aye Billy reid, with billy dodds and maybe give Neil McCann a coaching role?

Does anyone know the deal with the
transfer embargo? It keeps saying 12 months which to me would mean from 1st Sept until 31st Aug 2013. Next years window is meant to bhe open until the 3rd Sept (31st Aug a Saturday so usually extended to the Monday) however SSB said they were under the impression Rangers couldnt sign anyone until 1st Jan 2014.

What I want to know is if that is true then does that not make it a 16 month ban?

My impression is that its effectivley a 2 window ban and we cant sign anyone until after summer 2013 window but free agents can sign after that window closes?

Also would we be allowed to sign a GK on temp loan or something if Alexander got injured as that would only leave one GK?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I hope what you'er saying about the extension is true! The ban is until the 31st of August. The media is probably just assuming that the deadline is the same as this year...
I don't think it's unfair that we have this "16 month ban" anyway - because the fact they delayed the embargo was doing us a favour! I'd rather we had this summer to sign people rather than have had to continue with last year's remains.

Agree3 Disagree5

It is a loophole that could be exploited however it is believed the ban is not for a calender year but for 2 transfers windows

Agree1 Disagree0

Glad you don't think a sixteen month embargo is unfair, after all the twelve months was unlawful.

Agree2 Disagree2

I wrote #1.
What, so you would all rather that the embargo kicked in before we had a chance to sign anybody? I'm not getting into the legal side of it. At the end of the day, we were given it and couldn't challenge it in order to get back playing football - very unfair. But in the circumstances, I'm saying it's good that they at least delayed the start of the ban so we could build the numbers up.

Agree2 Disagree0

The Sfa and other associations are allowed to open and operate on a Saturday, so the window will close on the 31st, its only a Sunday that there is no trading, look at the passed history of transfer windows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lord Nimmo Smiths tribunal and the SFA will clarify that the punishment is a two window ban on registrations.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2012 13:06:47
personally id be disgusted if rangers signed another a goalie to be no1. alexander has hung around for years in the shadows of greegs, and his loyalty deserves to be rewarded. he has proven his ability to come good whenever he plays, regardless of how long hes been in cold storage.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I agree, but competition is always a good thing. It will just keep Alexander on his toes. Plus McCoist wants Gallagher out on loan - so we need some sort of back-up.

Agree4 Disagree2

Alexander only there to pick up his ten grand a week and bell would be your no 1 but will cost at least a million

Agree3 Disagree4

30 Aug 2012 11:22:02
Not that Im wanting them to do well but who do we think Celtic will get?

I think Barcelona, Schalke and Ajax.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

I care who they get, we need to change our blinkered attitude or there will be nothing to come back to when we move up again, after the plight we found ourselves in through our own fault I was hoping things would change for the sake of all Scottish football but seems not
Bobby

Agree11 Disagree6

Cant believe after watching a scottish team deservedly make the group stages of the champions league. Im watching neil Lennons interview after the game and hes sporting a f*cking Ireland flag on his collar. What kind of message does that send out to the world?

Agree11 Disagree12

Mystic meg returns, who really knows who they will get.

Agree1 Disagree3

Chelsea, Juventus, Braga

Agree1 Disagree1

@2; Dear dear.Your anti Ireland credentials shining through there eh? The flag is part of the trim on the 125 year history celebrations,to honour the founding fathers of the club. Now calm down and join us in the 21st century.

Agree6 Disagree2

@2: part of the 125 year celebrations, part of which is to do with the fact that the club was set up as a charitable organisation to help the poor of the East End, most of whom were Irish.

Agree6 Disagree2

2) could not agree more, since when was yellow part of Celtic's colours. A rotten advert for the champions league representatives of Scotland that he is sporting an Irish flag

Agree4 Disagree5

Newsflash for 2 ,Lennon is irish, get a life you troll

Dannybhoy

Agree5 Disagree4

Barca, Benfica and Spartak.

Easy!

Agree2 Disagree0

I tried my best to will them into the Real, City and Ajax section but nae joy.

BARNEY BEAR

Agree1 Disagree1

#8 - not that I'm condoning my fellow Rangers fans remarks, but Lennon is from Northern Ireland. Wow - you don't even know where you're manager is from/ the flag of his country.
Also - your point is moot. Paul le Guen, for example, was French but he didn't walk about wearing the French flag around his neck. {Ed039's Note - Just a noose)

Agree3 Disagree2

1st of all, Lennon didnt design his top, that would be nikes job. Also RE 7) Yellow isnt part of the Irish flag either

Mikey Bhoy

Agree4 Disagree0

Barney bear am sure you tried your best to wish your old club into a cva too but that didnt work either think you should just give up ...

Agree2 Disagree0

All this petty stuff because we celebrate our irish founders ... i hope in another 125 year were not as petty when you all eat yorkshire puddings to celebrate yours

Agree2 Disagree1

125 years ago Ireland, where celtics founder came, was British therefore should it not be a Union Jack? Or the fact the tricolor wasn't a flag at the time, the own flag was a blue back ground with a yellow harp! They really are playing on the Irish heritage b*llocks.

ed are you a celtic fan? cause you post more celtic fan posts than rangers {Ed039's Note - Post more then, if it's a decent post or decent banter then it gets posted regardless of who posts it)

Believable23 Unbelievable10

At the same time try posting on the celtic page and they never let you. but our page is full of celtic fans. something not right! {Ed039's Note - Send a message on the Celtic page then and ask the ed why he doesn't post things as opposed to asking why things are posted on here, maybe the posts are full of nonsense and aren't worth posting?)

Agree16 Disagree7

The Ed is right to post all decent posts on here but I wish Celtic fans would stop goading our fans about 3rd div it wasn't the fans fault were here

Agree5 Disagree6

Nope ed007 can't handle it when u post something negative about Celtic. {Ed001's Note - load of rubbish, I cover Celtic in the mornings and very little gets posted by Rangers fans because you have nothing to gloat over! That's all it is.}

Agree10 Disagree8

ED 007 runs the same criteria,if the post is not abusive and relevent or classed as banter it will be posted.Plenty regular gers fans post on Celtics page. {Ed039's Note - I know this, this is the way all the pages work)

Agree6 Disagree11

I'm with the Ed here - censoring debate is just wrong and take non-Rangers posts as a back-handed compliment - would be a poor show if non-Rangers people didn't care
Iain

Agree4 Disagree10

I think what the OP is saying is that most of the Celtic posts are full of nonsense and not anywhere near funny. Isn't that why they have a Celtic page for their banter? As no one is remotely interested in their ramblings on here. Or should we just expect to have both pages full of this stuff. Maybe you could clear that up for us all.

Agree14 Disagree4

No he.s rite, when u try post on the celtic site from a rangers perspective, nothing offensive u understand, it rarely appears

Agree13 Disagree5

Feel for you Ed - you must feel like a babysitter sometimes! {Ed039's Note - no for the most part I enjoy editing the site, but some people think there is some sort of agenda on here when really it is just a fun page to people to rant, joke etc)

Wat would be your team for tonites game at Ibrox, personally i thk Ally should drop a lot of players for the game tonight, after the performance on sunday, he needs to try something different.... (4-1-3-2) Alexander, Argyrou(sp), Perry, Bocanegra, Wallace, McCulloch, McKay, MacLeod, Hutton, Shiels, Little, SUBS Gallacher, Faure, Naismith, Sandazza, Crawford, Black... LeJonWATP:)

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Very much doubt Hutton will be in before Black and I am sure Sandaza will start. Think the brazilian defender will be in before Perry too

Agree5 Disagree1

The Brazilian and black are both gash so it wouldn't make a difference.

Agree2 Disagree0

You just said that you think he should drop alot of players and then proceeded to name a team with 8 players from the weekend.Make up you're mind!

Agree7 Disagree0

Have to disagree with the OP as a Celtic fan McCoist must stay,he is comedy gold,Rangers Newco ,Sevco or whatever you want to call them need a Terry Butcher or the like to climb out of the bottom league,McCoist aint got it so the longer he stays the better

This is a big deal if Ally loses control of the dressing room as well.

Agree5 Disagree3

Post 1; I think that was the whole point of the leak.Strange it took so long for Ally to come out and say it.

Not sour grapes just my opinion, think the Celtic games against the terrible Swedes was the worst 2 European games I've seen since malmo last year, Celtic will get thrashed in champions league.

Believable13 Unbelievable19

That definitely IS sour grapes mate! lol lol

Hail Hail

Hope that Celtic dont get thrashed as Scottish football needs the hype Champs league fitba brings, but even if they do the 12 million will be a comfort

Dannybhoy

Agree6 Disagree3

Chrisbhoy we will see who is right and who is wrong, I have my opinion, I feel the 2 worst teams in the 3rd qualifying round played each other at parkhead last nite, you clearly don't, let's see in 3 months.

30 Aug 2012 04:17:02
Like yous like to say and since it is important to you and as you have said where was the biggest crowd in Scotland? Looks like Celtic makes a record for having the largest crowd in all of Scotland, I'm sure yous could hear all the noise of celebrations of cl football. Lol

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Celtics attendance last night was 51,566. No where near full, what a truly terrible showing for a CL qualifier.

Agree5 Disagree8

Number 1, wish you would stop going on about attendances, we had less than 30,000 at the malmo game last year.

Agree6 Disagree0

@1; Yet almost twice your games v malmo and maribor. how interesting.

Larky Bear

Agree15 Disagree14

OP - 1st time in 4 yrs, suppose it had to happen, you've dropped to 66th in the rankings and you're in pot 4, the last pot for the draw. 'Europe is calling' maybe but 15% of your stadium was empty last night and they didn't hear it - didn't bother to turn up, too busy in their bunk beds and on their laptops on here, the Calvin Klein Brigade, you're one of them.
And don't come back with your 'we won the big one' and 'we won it first' it doesn't get your team noticed, 45 yrs ago your having a laugh.

Agree8 Disagree8

We'll keep tabs on how you get on with that youve got a bit of catching up to do after the losses on Helsinki, helsborgs, brechin 90 mins, berwick , peterhead, and 100% league bets. We dont care If youre jealous or not, as long as allys comedy roadshow keeps up the quality.

Agree8 Disagree2

Last I heard ur stadium holds 60, 000 if u call that a sell out ur maths ain't up to much

Agree8 Disagree7

Sitting at the top table and you're in for 37 yr old Del Piero, free agent. Bring them in young and sell them on for a profit! LOL

Agree6 Disagree7

#2 - That's not a sell out at Parkhead surely...

No it wasn,t a full house portion of main stand for away fans empty and their area at rangers end of ground many empty places plus segregation area and of course the cost of travelling to and from the match during financial difficulties that effects every fan and team in britain ,just maybe some of the reasons why celtic park wasn,t full last night and if close on 52,000 is a poor turn out on a wednesday evening please inform me what would be acceptable.

Any 1 else think we should try and sign the striker from Peterhead. Wld do a job in most Scottish leagues. Also what about a looking at tens in league 1 & 2. It's worth a shot.

He moved from Brechin to peterhead last year because peterhead agreed to pay his apprenticeship and allowed him to stay part time, football is his second career choice, he doesn't want full time football.

squad so far:
Alexander Gallagher
Perry Wallace Hegarty Cole Emilson Faure The Greek
Black Shields Hutton McLeod McKay Mitchell Naismith
Sandaza Kyle Little McCulloch Hemmings.
Bigger squad than any other team in division.
A glut of youngsters at Murray Park going untried.
More internationals than divs 1, 2, 3 combined.
Probably a bigger wage bill than other 29 SFL teams combined.
At least 10 with top flight experience.
Mccoist looking for more signings.
Why does he need more signings?
Either his signings ain't up to it or he's so tactically inept he doesn't know what to do with them.
Mr Mccoist your time is up

Are you a celtic fan?
this squad has got to do us until jan 2014
we need to be sure to progress thru so we need numbers, i agree with ally signing seasond pro's because he will only have kids to add to the squad for 18 months.
we will win 1st and 2nd div no prob but we need to stick together.
support (sir) ally and cg
we dont do walking away

McCoists humiliating us......from hero to zero ! if hes the best man for the job we might as well call it a day now

Agree9 Disagree10

What does he do if he gets injurys? What does he do if players want to leave in the next 2 transfer windows? Other clubs in the league can loan players outside the window if they are running short!

Agree2 Disagree2

I would say he is tactically inept and his signings are not up for it.

Time to go Ally you are not good enough.

@2 "we will win 1st and 2nd div no prob".
I love your optimism, you have to get out of D3 before you have a chance to win D2 or D1. I also think D1 and D2 will have tougher competition than you are unable to beat away from home at the moment.

3 games in and your already whining about Ally? Shame on you.Really annoys me how stupid some people can be. After this weekend we wont be signing anyone for a full season. Considering injuries, player sales and other issues that MAY arise is not something any manager would want. Not to mention we had an entirely new back 4 on the weekend of which two were played out of position. Show more faith. In Ally I trust.WATP

Squad has to do us until September 2013 not Jan 2014. Once ban is up non contract players can sign for a club outside the window so ban effectively for 12 months. Agree with seasoned pros but not ones who are so far past it. Difference between making signings as needed and making for sake of it. Last time I saw this many panic buys big eck was in charge. Wouldn't expect anymore now anyway.
