Guys going please stop giving the defence such a hard time? You can tell your full backs to attack attack attack, play without a sitting midfielder) and then moan when we lose a few goals. We will lose goals however as things stand just now we will score more!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

30 Aug 2015 21:20:47
Th. Defence and goalkeepers are told to play out from the back and they will make mistakes. People just love to always find something to moan about

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 23:31:30
Seems people forget last season where every time the opposition attacked we looked like losing a goal. Yes we are not perfect but we are playing at a higher tempo and it's better to watch and my guess we will lose less goals this season than last

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 20:53:52
Not by any means saying we are as good as man city but the year they won the league on the last day, they were well known for the fact the other team May score but city would 9 out of 10 times out score them. I prefer that mentality and it looks as if that's the way rangers are going, you may score 1 goal but we will score more. It makes for exciting attractive football so as you have said give the defence peace.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 08:05:33
if that's all we moan about it will be a good season but the fact is there has been some sloppy defending which one way or another needs to be sorted either by change personel or playing someone in front of them or whatever its not a moan its a fact

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 10:02:28
This will not be our first team for the top flight.
I am sure MW has a shopping list and a budget

Deed totally agreement from me mate, others forget we have 2 more windows before we go up.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 18:49:42
I'm not saying I'm not happy with the team and how we are scoring goals. But when you think when west top flight teams rather than Champ teams. I feel that our defence can and will be split open.

This team is shown they are capable of finding the net and not girding out wins.

I mean we play Celtic ( I do think it will be a close game to call ) as our wingers will run up and down that park all day to get crosses in and get goals. But if you look at Celtic the now they can hurt you if a defence is switched off. Not just Celtic but every team. But Celtic are prone to see gaps in a defence and exploit it.

Was reading on Celtics page on there Sevco banter. One fan says that Rangers and I disagree with him here. That should of taking us at least 10 years to get to celtics level in a way is he right?. But then again are Celtic fans getting worried we are getting back to a form that we are used too and being able to score goals win games play attractive football entertain the fans and pack a stadium.

I just hope this team can keep the momentum up all season and hopefully end up with all cups and get into Europe next season.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

30 Aug 2015 23:50:57
Tee boy why are you even on a celtic page reporting back we all know what they say same old bull getting churned out and what do I think .I don't care in one ear out the other let's keep this page to talking about the gers and our journey back rather than lowering ourselves to what they do on snooping on other teams banter pages focus on the gers who cares what they are saying

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 20:51:58
Ironically, the longer we are in the Championship, the worse Celtic will get. They have no challenge and whilst they will win the league for the next few seasons, they will continue to deteriorate.

Watching Rangers is a joy currently but that is because the last 2 years have been abysmal. I'm not getting carried away and although it's nice to see the goals get banged in - we have to remember the resources of the clubs we are currently hammering. Our victories over both Hibs and St Mirren were not so emphatic. Work in progress.

This being said, even in the golden years, we didn't always put 5 or 6 passed every team.

Agree2 Disagree2

30 Aug 2015 21:19:33
Teeboy1 while you do yourself a disservice by even viewing anything entitled sevco in relation to us I'll attempt to give you a short and sweet answer.

I've heard this 10 year gap nonsense for a while now but no matter how often they say it over and over again it doesn't make it any more likely. If their game against the mighty Malmo served any purpose other than giving us all a right good laugh it was to highlight exactly What their team is and that's mediocre at best.

I'll be the first to admit they are still some way ahead of us both on and off the park at present but 10 years? Do me a favour! No offence mate but I'd say Trust in our management team and stay away from the fantasists site.

Agree2 Disagree2

31 Aug 2015 09:34:13
Gazza if you think your team would have got anything other than a pumping in both legs of a tie against Malmo , with your ex hearts players and Wigan rejects , then you are the only fantasists around these parts , you are still a million miles from even being competitive at that level.

30 Aug 2015 17:52:48
Great result today and we're scoring 4-5-6 goals a game, is it me but I still feel someone is going to get a right hammering not meaning to ge disrespectful to the other teams! Thought please!

Believable6 Unbelievable2

30 Aug 2015 18:30:56
Spot on Bongo, one of these games we're going to take all our chances a give a team a proper pasting.

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 18:41:57
I know in recent years results have been hard to come by and we've struggled against certain teams but right now we're only beating teams that we should be beating. We should be scoring a few goals every time we play. If anything I'm just a bit surprised and annoyed with the types of goals we're giving away. We need to tighten up at the back and I'll be interested to see who is picked at centre back if there was an injury to Wilson or Keirnan especially if Ball was covering at full back.

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 19:03:02
We don't need to hammer teams to show we are the dominate force in this league, it just shows this team is too good for this league and should be in top flight to compete for 1st or 2nd. But I do think a team or 2 will take points from us as our defence can be sloppy. But then again for that to happen they would need to stop us from scoring 4,5,6 goals a game.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 23:50:18
I think going Forward we are excellent, and in my opinion its one of the most exciting Rangers teams in a long time, but there has to be a few doubts over our centre backs and that holding midfield role, all the goals we've conceded this season have been sloppy, and if we want to go deep in the cup competitions we've got to improve our concentration levels and stay switched on for the full 90, because better teams will punish us. The issue is simply that our fullbacks spend so much time in the opposing teams half and as Andy Halliday is not naturally a holding midfielder we can be left a little exposed, but I'm sure Eustace would be the perfect fit, also if kiernan doesn't improve Ball can be brought in instead! Still amazing compared to last season.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 17:04:05
So 8 games,
30 goals! I personally believe we don't need another striker but could probably do with tightening up our defence as we keep giving away reckless goals, but in Warburton we trust WATP

Believable5 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2015 10:57:07
the defence is fine we are always going to lose a few goals when we are playing way 2 wing backs. it leaves the centre halfs open but we are scoring plenty anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 16:21:51
8 games played, unbeaten, 30 goals so far, average 4 goals per game. 1 more win next week and is far the best start Rangers have ever had. MW has equiled Bill Sturth start of winning games. Shows Rangers have picked a Manager with the winning mentality.

But there is one big problem at the moment with Rangers. That's their defence, although only lost 3 in the league. They are still giving away cheap goals.

A lot of Rangers fans may criticise me here but don't you think they should tighten at the back? Although most the goals Rangers have lost this year have came through the middle of the park. I think a holding defensive midfielder is a must just to sit back and protect that back four/two at times when trav and Wallace go forward.

I think in my opinion ( which we are all intitiled to have ) Davie Weir should be the person talking to CB's and DM about holding down the fort.

Thoughts guys?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

30 Aug 2015 16:40:45
Teeboy the trouble is when the defenders are that far forward your going to give away goals to a quick striker being played in with a long ball put that's the pay off we all like the way the ball is pushed around the park I think the centre off defence will improve I enjoyed the game today think the red card was harsh but we still would have won

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 17:04:20
I have a feeling it's just a matter of them switching off as they have so little to do and it's more complacency than just bad defenders/defending. Yes switching off is bad defending to a certain degree I get that but it's not like there are skills they are missing, they just need to focus for the full game as they are essentially two good defenders. I'm sure MW/DW will have a word in their shell like. How about this for a different angle , isn't it great to be able to nit pick about matters ON the park for a change?
In the magic hat we trust!

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 17:07:50
Tee boy that's why I hope eustance comes good,as that's his place sitting in front of back four.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Aug 2015 17:53:41
Yeah think you've called it right pieandbovril it's more just a bit of complacency that tends to set in rather than bad defending. Because we are enjoying so much of the play I feel both Wilson and kiernan are guilty of switching off.

It's something they will have to tighten up on though, keeping a clean sheet has been a trait of some of the best Rangers sides and it would stand us in good stead for when we go up. I'm sure big Davie has already identified this and will be trying to impress the point on the lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 18:08:07
It was the same with Warburton at Brentford. Their fans were used to a "Score one more goal than them" mentality. We are winning games and winning them comfortably. The toughest test we have had was at hibs and the defence did their job and we kept a clean sheet.
I feel we can provide this when it's required.

If we know we can go into games and score 5 or 6, does it matter if we end up shipping 1?

This is a different mentality than we have been used to but I for one am embracing it as for the first time in several years I am being entertained and getting excited about football.

Has everyone already forgotten the days of old when we would win 1 - 0 at Annan, or Montrose or Brechin and have to listen to the manager praising a wonderful clean sheet?

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 18:35:29
Good result again today

It was never a red card, more a case of Derek Lyle showing off his sparkling white gnashers to Rob Kiernan. I believe Kiernan may have been blinded by the whitest teeth in Scotland 😬

That boy Lyle can't half Smile!

Yeah I get that, was just kinda wondering if that's him out of The Hat's plans now? He will probably feature again but I reckon that he's had his chips so to speak. The team is MUCH quicker going forward now that Law is out of the team. Nothing against him you understand, just not the type of quality we SHOULD and NOW have in our team. Best of luck to him if this is the case.

How do fellow Bears think of my three bets concerning The Famous Glasgow Rangers?

1. Win ALL league Games 500/1 = £5

2. Unbeaten in league 25/1 = £10

3. Win by 10 points = 7/1 = £10

Couple of bets looking good - hopefully will keep me engrossed for months to come. If my bets can get beyond Feb / March then it will be really interesting!

Great bets Aye Ready. I might dabble myself. At 5-0 up today with 10 minutes to go I thought my £5 bet at 100/1 to win 6-0 might just happen. So close! On another note, what the hell was McCoist & co doing to ignore Barrie Mackay over the last couple of years? He is the star of the season so far. Oh if only Warburton had arrived 12 months earlier. WATP.

billybluenose that's right but the few goals we have lost have all come from the same area darren macgregor was the same played well but serious mistake just waiting to happen don't forget they havec really not been put under a lot of pressure so far don't know how they would fare against a good team

30 Aug 2015 19:51:51
Bigwull I see the gaffer is now saying he will maybe bring in another player,I am wondering if he has had 2nd thoughts on eu stance fitness wise and is maybe looking to bring in someone to sit in front of the back 4 as that's were estancia would have played, maybe my minds running away with me,but would make sense IMO.

30 Aug 2015 20:33:23
Sorry Doiger, well kinda, since I had £2 halliday first goalscorer, and £2 5-1 and £1 dble, over 800 drinking vouchers, would people stop whining at losing goals, would they rather go back to the complete and utter s. t we were watching,no big statements about what we may win but great to watch.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2015 22:28:34
well something needs done we would get murdered at the back against a good team because c backs are high up they defo need someone in front to let them drop back to stop players getting in behind them davie weir defended almost on the 6 yard box because of hhis lack of pace

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 20:16:37
Bigwull the lack of pace from big dw only came about because of age,I've always said you will never beat playing youngsters, out to make there name,as we are now seeing,a route ally should have went down, undoubtably.

I must say I am really shocked at QOS today, they were a really good team to watch last season, now they have turned into hammer throwers, some of the tackles they have made have been shocking, they have lost the plot, it was always going to be a hard game for them, but they have let themselves down, I think James Fowler has wound them up to get stuck in, but it has backfired horribly, we are monstering them. great scoreline again, but again when we lose a goal it comes through the middle of the defence. spl teams will love this.
tough to critiscise, but I feel we have lifted foot of the gas last couple of games and taking longer to get the ball to the front men.

onward and upward though, one step at a time

Hi.

Where were we last year as a football team and as a club?
Our club has changed for the better both on and off the pitch.
But still some negative posts bitching about deeds for Ibrox Asswipe ect.
Our new board have done what's matters first a quality team and management structure.
I am sure over time the truth will unfold about the what went on under the Green era but for now is it not just great to be a Rangers fan?

I don't thin it is about 'what went on', it is more about what will be going on for years to come. I suspect from the silence of the BOD, that things behind the scenes are worse than first anticipated. One thing sorting out on field issues, unfortunately, the behind the scenes issues will continue for years to come, with the mess left behind by the 'opportunists'.

thing are as bad as the board expected they took the view before they came that things were in a terrible state and they have not had any surprises and are beavering away to get everything on an even keel and slowly and surely they are getting there lots of information they would like to impart but due to gags and possible pending liquidation there is not a lot that can be allowed into the public domain so keep supporting the club everay way possible and we will get therethere is big hopes for the new commercial director who can hopefully beef up commercial revenuesb sorry I have put liquidation I meant to say litigation upwards and onwards
