Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

30 Jul 2011 23:39:45
All the speculation about Goodwillie.... None of us has a clue, This is a rumour site but everyone seems to think they know about what Rangers and Blackburn have offered. There is no way Dundee Utd would turn down £2.2 and 800k of add ons plus a 10% sell on. And if you think for 1 minute any of the Old Firm have offered £2m for him your off your head.
The boy is a good player and has lots of potential but he isn't any better than Naismith for Rangers or Hooper for Celtic. If you think he is a Rangers fan then again I'm sorry to disappoint you all, His family are all Celtic fans and I know this because he played for my brothers team before signing for Dundee Utd, He played with Carse Thistle (Stirling) and his family always watched him on Saturday mornings before heading to Parkhead.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Is that why he has the 5 stars tattooed on himself?

Agree0 Disagree0

His dads a Ger and his mum is a Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

So have loads of people but doesn't mean it's Rangers orientated.... Get a grip man. You see 5 stars and think it's a Rangers tattoo.

Agree0 Disagree0

And there's pics of him as a youngster wearing a rangers top. nuff sed {Ed047's Note - there's a pic of me in the nude when I was two, doesn't make me a Chippendale

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is the pic, I've seen quite a few pics of him in his Carse Thislte top..... Does this mean he is a Carse Thistle fan.... If he does sign then it's a good signing but to get him Rangers will need to match any bid from any other club and I can't see that happening. The EPL is a far better league than ours. Just another thought.... Can he play in Europe as he has played for Dundee Utd this season in Europa League?

Agree0 Disagree0

So you tell us then who he supports the smart arse? he's a bluenose and if you dont know that then ye know f*** all

Agree0 Disagree0

DG IS A TRUE BLUE his dad and sister are trueblues as well his cousin on folow folow will be psn himself when he reads this you lot get more dilluded by the day .b4 you say it Cardiff are signing Bellend so thats why they havent bothered to put a bid in for some reason they wont announce there interest in bellend untill 15th Aug something to do with his contract so you can take that back to the darkside and bank on it

Agree0 Disagree0

He supports the team that pay him the most money. That is it in a nutshell.

Let's face it. If David Goodwillie really wants to come to Ibrox then he would hand in a transfer request to at least attempt to push a deal over the line. But it is Thompson's fault, he would never sell anyone to Rangers because he is a big Timothy.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We have tried to get the player on the cheap, as we do, and now instead of paying the 'asking' price', we are genuinely now gonna have to pay well over the odds if we want him..

We have tried to call Dundee Utd's bluff (in public) and we have come out looking like amateur business men, AGAIN.

Nothing to do with Dundee Utd not selling to Rangers, like Thomson or not, he's entitled to get the best deal he can for his club, and he must be sitting pishing himself at how well he's done us over.

Pay the f****** money for players that we want.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish. if they want rid and the boy really really wants to go to ibrox then 2 million is just the job. they set a price 2 million thats it.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2011 23:11:34
come on goodwillie we meet the asking price and your club are still rejecting i think its time for u to be harsh to united and request a transfer.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2011 23:11:04
Apparently th goodwillie bid woz 1.6m wit 600k in add ons not 2m outright, source bbc sport. I think dundee utd are well within ther rights 2 reject this offer, they hav made ther price well known nd i dont see why we dont jst offer th 2m they r askn 4 nd they wil hav no choise bt 2 accept th offer. Although i agree we should b vigilante with th funds we hav available i think it is getn increasinly embarassin 4 a club like ours 2 continuelly hav bids rejectd because we wont pay th askin price 4 them. Btw i thot wallace had a good game earlier nd goian lookd like a bargain

Bigbear watp

Believable2 Unbelievable2

It was paying over the odds for mediocre players that got the club in trouble before, we have every right to be vigilant, if we can't afford to pay 2M then we shouldn't pay it,

Agree0 Disagree0

Dundee Utd are 100% correct....it's us acting like a**eholes again

Agree0 Disagree0

Peter houston said on radio the other day it did'nt need to be 2 mill up front, A large slice of it with add ons wld be enough to satisfy his chairman. As long as they got the 2 mill

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2011 22:57:36
This goodwillie situation is so pathetic it's untrue First whyte was stupid not just taking him for 2m but then when eventually we give Dundee utd more than what they want they become spineless sods and reject it.

Dundee united are two faced and need a good doing over when we next meet.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Agree with the part about doing them over next time we meet - if we get goodwillie hopefully he scores 2m goals? haha... i'd settle for a hat-trick

30 Jul 2011 22:56:21
alright everybody a had a heavy rant yesterday but ed told me to look in the bright side that we have got all our best players in contracts and signed the likes of Wallace and goian now evreybody just wait because it will be good by end of transfer market just let mcoist do what hes got to do because a reckon he will bring in a bit of quality and think about it he is still very much in the hunt for verhoek and juhas two decent players and dont forget cuellar and bartley ano were going for qwite a view center halves but u need good center halves becuse if one gets injured wee have still got another one so a totally agree with ally mcoist wee need somebody to help Davis in center mid as i dont mculloch is up to the job or edu altho a would keep edu for cover then were crying out for a winger that can cross a ball in and score goals and then Wallace can play back in lb and strikers i wouldn't mind Murphy from motherwell

Believable2 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2011 22:55:03
Honestly If we don't get Goodwillie so be it. And if we only go after Murphy I think thats a so so choice. I think we should bring in a Loan player as a striker cuz Jela, Naisy , Lafferty, Hemmings and healy could do enough te win us the league and through to the Group stages at least. We need CB and CM first and foremost. Our strikers are good just nobody but davis feeding it to them. We WILL be ok people have faith I sure do. WATP 4IAR

Sometimes David Goodwillie comes into the pub I work in, I know him from school in Stirling anyway, so I chat to him often enough. Don't know him brilliantly or anything. Anyway he really wants to play for Rangers but he knew Blackburn had an interest in him and admitted the chance of a fresh start off the pitch and the chance to play in the EPL may be too hard to turn down. If we can't get him I'd like to see us sign Jamie Murphy. But.. Who knows.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2011 21:57:09
I think some people should read what Spence has said before they post because your all looking pretty thick. The offer is 2.2M including add ons. 600K less than Blackburns offer which is 2.8M including add ons. Does everyone understand? {Ed047's Note - yes sir, we do sir.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

30 Jul 2011 21:48:58
Well, apparently D.Utd have rejected a 2.2 m bid? im wondering if this is a straight up 2.2m or more like 1.9m with add ons with the latter a strong possibility as D.Utd seemed pretty clear that they're looking for 2m up front and we've tried to undercut these offers all window. Alternatively, they're looking for the highest amount possible over an indefinite period (at the moment blackburn's offer) and now the only bids they accept will be equal or greater than that. This would be understandable had they not consistently labeled Goodwillie at 2m. I think they are, in some respects, going against their word for the sake of better financial gains. However, if this rumoured bid was truly made, not is the time for Goodwillie to hand in a transfer request. If he truly wants to play for us, he will.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Jul 2011 21:40:32
BLACKBURNS BID IS WORTH £2.8MIL THATS WHY GERS BID OF £2.2MIL WAS REJECTED. IF JIM SPENCCE IS TO BE BELIEVED. COULD PEOPLE STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Then why didn't they give both him and his agent permission to talk to them ya donk, and turn off the caps

Dundee united reject 2.2 million + add ons for goodwillie ? Thats shoking, they says if anyone meets there price tag of 2 million they will allow themto speak with the player and now they have rejected the bid ? If that is not biased/against rangers then i dunno what is ...

Happy with today's result, performance still not great but improved from Saturday and Tuesday.

Few plus points I felt were Lee Wallace & Dorin Goian.

Wallace looked well worth the money today, very assured defensively and also always willing to get forward. As he further beds into the team he will develop into being a great long term left back for Rangers.

Of course today was only Goian's first outing but I felt he done well. He's a big unit and he too looks assured defensively as expected. He seems to have a decent turn of pace and his use of the ball was good at times. He dealt with Sheridan and Haber well, and I think he could become a very solid and reliable player for Rangers.

We still need 3 or 4 players in my opinion. Hopefully fees can be agreed for Juhasz and Verhoek as both seem very keen to come. Goodwillie is one I would also like to see but whether that is going to happen remains to be seen. We definetly need a striker. I'm also hopeful another deal can be struck for Kyle Bartley as he can play midfield as well as centre half, we know what he brings.

I also feel John Fleck needs a run in the team. He has great ability and needs a confidence boost. A run of 8-10 games would allow him to show what he can do in midfield along with Steven Davis.

Just my opinion of course, feel free to comment.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Absolutely spot on . always liked wallace but not sure if ally knows what to do with papac, i would play wallace in front of papac left wing

First time posting here :D been looking at all these post about goodwillie, and about the blackburn romour, well they didnt put in 2.8 million, they put n 2 mill with add-ons ... and goodwillie has said, he is not making any desicions untill he find out if rangers are going to pay the 2 mill, if they do he will move to the gers but if they dont soon he will move one to persue his career, hes only 22/23 so he wont wait long as he is eager to play and improve

Believable1 Unbelievable0

And goodwillie has said, he is not making any desicions untill he find out if rangers are going to pay the 2 mill,

glad and relieved today for ally, i'm not going to lie, i've got reservations about him. Christ he was my hero as a boy but it's a big job. I Hope he can do well and am pleased with a decent away win today. Don't know how edu played today but on tuesdays evidence, we need to change that midield. I like nasmith in the middle of the park , and i tipped him to be a superstar this year (can you confirm ed?)
Let's get a bit of width in the middle to stretch the play. Jelavic is clever enuf to beat defenders but not when there's three round him. Like the new signings (again, i thought we'd get wallace for between 1.3m and 1.5m ) and the defender sounded solid today, so good work ally. Finally, i want to say again, i like the signing policy. Let's never again pay over the oddds for a player, they should be thankful to come here. We aint Barca but we're winning something every year practically and you only have to look at Beattie, weiss and diouff's faces when they picked up medals to see that means something. C'mon Rangers

Does Goodie have a £2m release clause in his contract? Just asking because i believe he has therefore it doesnt really matter if Rangers bid less than Blackburn as long as they meet the £2m..

Believable1 Unbelievable2

He does not have a release claus and wants to go to England to get away from everythin - can we stop going on about it. No doubt he is a fan but wants to get away from everything that has happened - who can blame him. Let the boy be - I am sure he will play for us one day just not now.

Agree0 Disagree0

There, s no release clause, if there was blackburn would have no need to put in a bid worth 2.8, they would have no choice but to accept the 2m bid.
the 2m was just what Dundee Utd value him at, if rangers took notice of this fact i believe we would have ourselves a bargain.

I was reflecting on the frustrating transfer window and wondered what we think of McCoist's handling of the media. The old way of handling transfer rumours was not to discuss anything until its signed, sealed and delivered. Its embarassing that we keep making low ball bids and its embarassing to hear mccoist either state that something is yet again expected in 48 hrs or to say that he doesn't know, but thinks talks are ongoing. How can you as manager not know what's going on? I actually want McCoist to do well, but have been a tad disappointed with his over openness with the press. He reminds me of Harry Rednapp and his big gob.

The vast majority of things since the takeover have dissapointed me with perhaps the exception of the new tanoy, pitch and screens and of course Shagger's performances.

does anone from Rangers scouting read this page then why dont we sign Erimenco now on a free and the guy showed last year he is a class player and could fill the gap left by edu week in and week out why he keeps getting picked is beyond me and i wonder if the management team are seeing the same player as i am, as all this guy does is hide in the middle of the park and when he does get the ball his passing is shocking.Replace him with Erimenco and see the difference.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Aye of course they do, They save a fortune on scouting by visiting this site.
And as every poster has extensive knowledge of players they can fill there boots.

Just watched the st.johnstone game
goian struck me as a good player
very steady and having seen juhasz
on a number of websites Id say they
could be great together in defence
for rangers also as cover in seasons
to come bougherra will move on and
I dont really see a need for cuellar and
Ithink if we can get juhasz signed up
we can retire davie weir and much
as I like papac he wont last forever
so its time to change now edu and
mculloch are not doing it so one or
both could go while they may still be
worth a few bob still fancy verhoek and
maybe odonkor will come good plenty
positives here if alley canget us through
against malmo would be perfect.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Agreed was right at the front of the stand behind mcshagger second half saw Goian make, time after time, excellent interceptions and sticking his foot in, winning 100% of the ball - clearly reads play well and didn't lose a thing in the air. Juhasz and Cuellar are still on my wishlist and i think both are realistic if we can get to past Malmo on wednesday. I think Cuellar is waiting to see if we cang et to the CL groups ( or that hes waiting until he's fit to start proper training before moving to us). Good performance today though

Agree0 Disagree0

That cb pairing would be very commanding, goodin the air and solid as a rock

Agree0 Disagree0

Goian looked great te me so did Wallace if we do get Juhasz we'll have a strong back line and no need fer our whole midfield coming back all the way. Would have loved te seen Heally or Hemmings play in the 2nd half today te just give them a run out but I'll take the win. In Ally we trust

if rangers bid around 2.5 million for him then the
bid should be accepted

roland juhasz says he wants to join rangers and he says he is worth around 2-3 million

if juhasz signs then i cant see rangers signing
cuellar unless bougherra leaves

should also try and sign wesley verhoek cause
juanma ortiz has no pace and wesley is much better than him

dufc have stated that they will keep us updated with events on goodwillie which suggest there is some kind of gentlemens agreement btwn the chairmen, heard a rumour personal terms have been agreed and rightly dufc want the asking price. At emd of the day they have options so they are within their right to stand their ground, if hes ur top target ally then just pay it

Lets just get rid of Bougherra. If we can get 2.5M for him then just get rid put that .5 t goodwilliw, an extra 1M for juhasz and then 1M spare for the dutch lad...

Rangers need to talk to Goodwillie Agent, highlight he will not be sitting on the bench for us and can go to the Premier League when he has a bit more experience. Also outline that Glasgow is not Mexico City as Peter Houston would have him believe.

Dundee Utd must be concerned he will not accept a deal down south to say all these negative things about Rangers, Glasgow, etc.

Maybe a bit more to run on this one, but up to Goodwillie to say he want to come, because if we offer the same amount as Blackburn, Dundee Utd will still block the move as they do not want Goodwillie coming back to score against them.

Come on Gers

I have to say if we lose out on Goodwillie I think for years to come it could come back to haunt us. Craig Whyte needs to dig deep and Ally needs to be forceful in getting players supporters want to see. For years we have relied on the flair of Steven Davis majority of the time. I think it's time to bring in another creative player and also a centre forward. I really urge McCoist to identify what we need and what the supporters want.

Why not go after David Trezeguet and give everyone something to talk about he would be a class act. I also think we need to strengthen defensively right back and centre half. Centre mid, right mid and a centre forward. Come on all give us a team to be proud of Dude who walks the dog and regularly speak to whittakers folks can't you ask his dog to tell Steven to tell Ally to come and have a look on this page

Believable0 Unbelievable2

This is some of the biggest pixx ive heard in ages, right back is fine, new centre half looks excellent, certainly a winger would be an asset. Trezeguet is not whats required, expensive wages, legs gone and certainly not up to the hussle and bussle of the spl.

I agree we need to be careful with our cash, but all this pussyfooting around is putting the transfer fees above what even the clubs are looking for.

Dundee Utd would have excepted a flat £2m with no appearance bonus or sell on clause, but we had to get the interest up until someone else with bigger pockets got interested.

Whyte wants to save money, bid a resectable fee early, and ask for a quick answer. If it is turned down, walk away and go for the next target. That way future clubs will know they need to act quick or loose a good offer.

If it wasn't for Whyte we wouldn't be getting any players so shut up and get behind the club. RTID

Sky Sports News sources understand Dundee United have rejected an improved offer from Rangers for striking ace David Goodwillie.

It is the second bid Ally McCoist's side have seen turned down for the 22-year-old as they look to bolster their frontline at Ibrox this summer.

The Gers' unsuccessful bid comes after Premier League side Blackburn reportedly failed with a £1.8million swoop for the Scotland international earlier this week.

when is whyte gonna learn? A chairman that set a price for a contracted player wont normally budge and just splash the cash (if you even have any). the boy wants to go to ibrox and the £300,000 that is still short will be made up by shirt sales. GET A FOOKIN GRIP AND GET YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKET OR LEAVE NOW

this is what ally really said MATE

"It's not over, " McCoist said of Juhasz. "We had a secondary bid knocked back by Anderlecht and it's something we'll have to discuss to see whether we go back in or not.

"We put a bid in about 48 hours ago which was knocked back but we will be having discussions to see what we do there.

"I wouldn't really like to discuss the complete financial terms but I don't think we are a million miles away."

McCoist added on Verhoek: "There was a bid that went in about eight days ago to Den Haag and that was knocked back. It's not something we are ruling out but, again, it's something we have to talk about."

Another bid turned down for Goodwillie according to sky sports news. I love our club and never criticise the team, management or the hierarchy but this is becoming worrying. I have no fears of our best eleven competing with and beating Celtic over the course of the season but as has been seen already with injuries to Lafferty and Weir we ain't gonna be as lucky again with injuries. We need re-inforcements and as super ally must have identified Goodwillie as a priority can we not offer what utd are looking for and let's see if the boy wants to play for us or not. I am concerned we have been linked with and appear to be missing out on so many targets.

I have mixed emotion now , so happy i still have a club to support because we nearly lost everything and a few people are fogetting this. Angry we can offer poor players like whittiker a 5 year contract but we cannot offer the asking figure for a CB. I agree that we should not offer the full price to begin with but we should not be taking 10 days to make a follow up if we are still interested in the player.
I know that a lot of the players talked about were never being looked at by Ally but only fans with a wish list and NOBODY knows what is happening apart from Ally.
Ally was named to be manager from January and the scouts have been looking and reporting since then and before, so why has it taken so long to make a move . If Ally does not get the players for our weak positions then he will have a poor season and he will be out of a job, so i believe he will be trying to do his best and i for one will wait and hope he gets it rigt.
If we have a small budget then i hope they will comwe out and say it and state that our youth will make up the numbers for this season.
