Anyone know if Sunday's game is on tele?

Alan Stubbs on sky news tonight struggled to even say Rangers. He said Scott Alan has always been a fan of that team rather than say Rangers. He still claims he will not be sold to Ragers.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2015 20:45:28
So Hibs have agreed a development fee to sign John McGinn. Stubbs is saying he is not a replacement for Allan.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2015 21:36:05
Nah he was quoted before saying that he intended to sign McGinn and possibley McCabe as players to play alongside Allan. Although they signed that Bartley boy as well who is a mid fielder. They already have Fyvie who is a main stay and that Scott Martin who is supposed to be decent and Stanton for that matter. So abit strange, there mid field is getting abit cramped.

Why was there no interest from rangers for mcginn cracking player for Scotland u21s

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 23:05:43
Because we want Allan instead.

31 Jul 2015 07:14:17
Strength in depth and also adds the word MW uses so often "value" in our team

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2015 08:23:23
Have u ever watched mcginn play? He is not that good. Kenny McLean was the star in that team, would rather make a move for Stevie mallan, what a right peg!

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jul 2015 09:52:46
They probably need all the midfielders to play a 4-6 formation against us at Ibrox lol :p

30 Jul 2015 20:44:21
Just seen that Jonathan Douglas (Brentford captain last year) is free to leave his club. Didn't see much of him last year, maybe linked with his former manager at Rangers?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

30 Jul 2015 20:42:09
Is Alan Stubbs clueless? He may be ok working with Allan but the fans have turned and shown their true colours,

does he actually believe things will go back to being hunky dory? I don't think so lol

As for the we don't want to sell him to our nearest rivals malarkey, we had an awful season under a clueless manager, they are deluded if they think they have any chance to win the league imo

But in all I still think Allan will jump at the chance to join anyone now, we should just offer them Murdoch and 250k and get it done lol

Believable2 Unbelievable7

30 Jul 2015 21:03:48
Why would you get rid of Murdoch? Has the potential to be a decent player if you're hoping to offload a player in part of the deal someone like dean shiels would be more sensible

Agree6 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 21:14:08
You're having a laugh offering Murdoch plus cash surely? The boys a talent and done really well coming in to a piss poor side last season.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 21:49:40
The Murdoch part was more tongue in cheek than anything else but warbuton doesn't seem to rate him,

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2015 08:24:15
300k or they want a keeper give them 400k and they might take bell lol

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2015 09:59:33
Has Murdoch not been playing in the milk cup to get game time? He is still viewed as a first team player i'd say

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 20:26:46
I see the big bad Rangers are getting baited again over a couple of golfers singing a naughty song. yet a police officer is making stupid comments about shooting hxxs. Really the Daily Record is the low of the low, absolutely no support for any good our club does, charity work, looking after former players. no far too easy that. let's associate Rangers with everything sectarian. I would not wipe my arse with that rag.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

30 Jul 2015 22:27:01
not daily record daily liar

Agree0 Disagree2

31 Jul 2015 07:27:58
You have lost me was the story about the police officer not in the record? Didn't the record totally condemn him? Don't the public have the right to know two of our top golfer's were singing sectarian filth? What should they do ignore it? Sweep it under the carpet? You should be thanking them as exposure is the only way to get rid of these vile people , or do you think what they and others do , is ok?

Agree2 Disagree1

31 Jul 2015 08:26:09
The public are too busy moaning about kirsty Gallagher wearing high heels on the fair way than they are about people being sectarian!

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Jul 2015 08:41:26
Cee , then surely the paper in question was doing a good job bringing it to the public's attention.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Jul 2015 09:43:49
I didn't say it wasn't. I haven't even seen the story about the golfers or the police, the daily record is the 2nd worst paper in Britain, behind the sun obviously, I don't even buy a paper anymore I find it funny that Celtic fans call it a rangers paper, rangers fans call it a Celtic paper etc. Its there to make money no paper does a "good job".

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Jul 2015 20:23:17
It is disappointing that the SFA isn't calling Hibs to account?

Surely the manager of a club of hibs' stature show be promoting the game in Scotland yet he is suggesting one of his players should stick out his contract and go directly to "big time" in England rather than stay in Scotland!

Ironic both have come to Scotland to further their careers!

Hibs fans must hate having an Englishman managing your club - the poor Leith side!

Believable4 Unbelievable5

30 Jul 2015 20:46:29
Makes you wonder how Stubbs would have felt and reacted if he could have been stopped signing for his beloved Everton not once but twice, the sun may shine on. leith but at the end of the season the Champagne will be flowing in Govan!

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jul 2015 21:49:28
You still don't seem to get it. Regardless of whether or not SA wants out it is up to the buying and selling clubs to agree a fee. I am sure that if we made an acceptable offer (with cash up front) Hibs would sell.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jul 2015 10:11:46
There is not a player at ibrox or member of management team who wouldn't head down south if a big team from England came in for them , are the sfa supposed to punish Stubbs for telling the truth? Remember souness abandoned your old club in a heartbeat and that was when they were at the peak of their powers.

30 Jul 2015 19:38:28
Is the Peterhead game being televised?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2015 18:01:19
Lets say Scott Allan doesn't sign now, and we sign him in January. Hibs then have a player in their team who who'll be wanting Rangers to gain automatic promotion. There's no way they could play him! They'll be paying his wages for nothing. Leave them to it, i'm happy to wait. He'll be a Ger at some point and we won't have to pay a dime to them.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2015 20:30:27
Hibs waiting to sell more season tickets then will let him go near end of window

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jul 2015 21:52:12
Inverbear do u think hibs fans will cheer Allan now or even care if he leaves? After the transfer request, it's really irrelevant if he stays or goes imo, they will sell him to anyone but us and use the money to strengthen I think

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 22:13:09
Can you sign a pre contract with a team in the same division? I have no idea if it applys to the Scottish Championship but know that when we had Guidetti that everyone APART from teams in the EPL (as he was with City obv) could sign him. I know it doesn't apply just to EPL, so would imagine that he would have to bypass any Jan offers and wait till the end of the season to sign for rangers IF you don't get him in this window (which tbh I think you will anyway)!? I'm sure that's why Guidetti waited instead of signing with another club in Jan as he wanted to see if any English teams came in for him. I may be wrong but same senario, different league of course

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you can sign a precontract with a team in the same association (ie Scotland in this case) up to a month before the end of the contract. Outside the same FA (ie anywhere but Scotland) they can sign up to 6 months from the end of the contract. Though that is only to players looking to sign somewhere without an agreement from their current club. If Hibs accepted an agreement, then Rangers could agree a deal tomorrow if they liked, but they would have to go through Hibs to do that.

So, if Hibs, knowing Scott Allan was not going to sign with them, decided to let him sort out the uncertainty surrounding his contract early so he could concentrate on playing for the season, then he could do so. Very rarely happens, but it has been known.}

31 Jul 2015 10:31:22
Cheers Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate. Though having checked, it is dependent on the FA involved as to the same association rules. The English FA certainly applies the one month rule, but I am not so sure about in Scotland, they do not mention it in their rulebook, which suggests they do not apply it. So I could be wrong about the 1 month.}

30 Jul 2015 14:56:37
I don't even shop in sports direct now.i do pop in from time to time and the racks full of rangers gear.ive not seen any1 with new rangers strip yet so boycott seems to be working in the highlands anyhow.not had a strip for last 2 years now and don't expect to buy gear again till 2022 as ashley ain't going to back down nor am i.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2015 15:52:53
I have said this from day one. The fans have partially pushed the con men out. I know there are some people that tell us we are starving the club of revenue. I suggest they buy the Red and Black tops. It's fan power at its best an organised boycott.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jul 2015 18:50:18
You only had to look around at the games against Burnley and Hibs to see how few Rangers tops were on show. Sad when you think that years back the strips were everywhere. I'm the same used to buy all the tips for my boys but not anymore.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 19:58:43
My sons desperate for the new goalie top. It's an absolute nightmare trying to explain to a 10 year old about the boycotts etc. like you say a few years back we all had one. Hopefully gets sorted soon . Roll on Sunday though 👍🏻

A think warbs will go for pretty much the same team that played hibs with no injuries and suspensions that will be the starting 11 he goes with as it stands this season as he says its pre season games for him to get the team fit and playing his style would like to see a couple of diffrent players brought on to show what they can do on sunday aswel how many tickets have been sold for sunday any1 know

Anyone remember an ex player called Kevin Drinkell? I live out in Australia now and bumped into an older guy who used to play with him at Grimsby. He was delighted when he found out I was a rangers fan and told me he had been as well even since his mate joined us in the 80's.

It's a bit before my time so was just wondering if anyone remembered the guy or knew anything about him? Pretty much all I can find out is that he was a big centre forward who left after Mo Johnston signed.

Good big strong centre who wore his heart on his sleeve and was a good Ranger

Agree3 Disagree1

30 Jul 2015 15:32:02
Dunc, he was a good centre for us, and in my opinion a bit underated. He took most of the flak up front but popped up with some handy goals. He scored a great goal against celtic when we gubbed them at Ibrox, by getting on the end of a Mark Walters cross.

Recently purchased the full Real Madrid strips for a 7 & a 4 year old and paid in the region of 140 quid for them. The 7 year old then asked me why I don't get them Rangers strips anymore? Try explaining to a 7 year old about boycotts and who Mike Ashley is. This is good money that could be going in to the club just can't bring myself to do it the now

Believable4 Unbelievable5

30 Jul 2015 12:19:47
by not buying u are forcing club to buy unsold stock due to the terms the last board agreed with ashley

30 Jul 2015 12:42:55
Instead of buying the new top for going on holiday this year I just bought a Scotland top. Hopefully King and Ashley can sort something out

I know JayC1204 it pains me! In the same predicament just now and I hope many more like us has the willpower! There is no way I'm giving that shower of shite my money!

I'll pay for many of strips when I know the day it is going back into the club!

Buy the lionbrand one. Had the same problem with my 7 year old and he got the barcelona strip and the 2 lionbrand tops.

Even if the club got the money I would still think twice, the kits are rank! Puma is the worst material ever.

30 Jul 2015 14:38:28
I think the fat ride has a stake in Puma as well.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 19:47:09
Can the club not buy the strips then re-sell them for an extra £10.If it's possible I would buy knowing the club were getting the dosh. Probably not possible ,but worth a thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 20:35:35
I'll buy extra youth development half time raffle tickets rather than give my money to Fat Mike and his Jumble Sale outlets, that way I know we're my cash is going did this before and will continue to do it this season!

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 09:26:08
When were 3.0 up at half time then that's the chance to put on the younger boys.i would have at least 1 development player in the sqaud each week with a view of him getting 30 mins on the park when were winning

Believable8 Unbelievable3

30 Jul 2015 09:00:02
Mark Warburton will probably kick on with the season with the players he has signed

The boss likes to work with a small pool of players and the development squad should also play a big part in forcing their way into the team!

A few were fearing including myself that we may need another finisher!

To be honest, we have enough competition in that department and if there shortage in firepower then it may be reassesessed in the Jan transfer window

I suspect that there may be one more signing of that, on the ongoing saga with Scott Allan

Or we may get him in January

Cmon the Gers

Believable0 Unbelievable5

30 Jul 2015 01:32:44
Should Rangers play more of the younger guys against Peterhead or do they go for more or less the same lineup as Hibs, purposefully, for the gelling of the team?

If the latter, I reckon the younger guys, or should I say, the one's that are getting less game time should be given a run out for the Petrofac Cup! That way, you can see who is performing and worthy of games in the bigger league games

Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable9

30 Jul 2015 08:16:28
we want win the league cup games to to get final to meet the east end mob we would not go down without a whimper this year

Agree3 Disagree5

30 Jul 2015 08:35:27
We need a few games under our belt to get the system right and utilise the bench fully before we start tweeking. As long as the boys are getting game time in the system, then their chances will come on merit.

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Jul 2015 08:49:28
Haha love the confidence but the team have only played two full games together so need more time to gel in my opinion.

100% Play the same time that started against hibs. They have only played a few games together so need time to gel and work together.
