{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new player profile about, Jan Vertonghen

30 Jun 2018 17:29:54
Just wanting to wish Kenny M all the best as he sinks his teeth into management.
I do hope he is given the reception he deserves for all his years of service with us.
Hopefully his bridges aren't burnt and he can have a good relationship, ie further loans for young or fringe players. who knows maybe one day he will be back as Manager!

01 Jul 2018 07:10:54
It’s a great opportunity to loan out some of our better younger players to him to give them premiership experience. Far better than sending the young guys to league 1 or 2

01 Jul 2018 08:40:18
Best of luck to the guy. When I was younger I couldn’t take that he crossed the divide but I guess I never lived his life. You grow up and you realise that you have to make tough decisions sometimes. Now he can help us by winning points off the opposition and redeem himself. That’s life 👍

30 Jun 2018 14:41:33
Not a Pedro fan but he could deal with unwanted dead wood! Stevie g take note and Herrera cardroso etc get them in at Hummel training center 6 am for rigorous training by themselves they will soon accept any offer to leave.

30 Jun 2018 15:25:50
Not sure why we should treat our players like rubbish when they signed a contract in good faith.

They did not become crap since they joined us. they were clearly not good enough but our manager signed them.

Treat them with respect and let them move on without the unnecessary bile RFC are better than that

30 Jun 2018 15:52:42
He bought more dead wood than he got rid of

30 Jun 2018 16:21:14
Was thinking the same Arthur D

30 Jun 2018 17:32:07
Well we could be stuck paying their wages for remainder of contracts! This could potentially prevent us signing players who could take us forward

30 Jun 2018 19:16:05
you got to luv some of the folk on here

there were a few belters last season on here who stood up for MoH- it’s a disgrace caixinha asked him to train with 21s and come in early to work on his fitness . eh?

since when is asking players to do extra training to work
on their game if they are not up to the grade ‘treating players like rubbish’ . they sign a contract as prof footballer &’ if the manger thinks you need to work harder I agree on principal

did you see herrera play last season he didn't play more for 1 reason he wasn’t good enough so to improve - work harder make manager pick you and when you get a jersey play a blinder hang on to it

that’s not treating players like rubbish we are where we are and it won’t change till higher standards are set. fact

but feel free standing up for players like herrera all day and whilst you are it it there’s the door don’t let it hit your arse on the way out

01 Jul 2018 02:07:13
What a lot of crap.
I don't know what all your professions are however if one day you boss decides he wants you to come in at 6am rather than your normal time and do double shifts you would jus do it? Of course not?! Theses guys have contracts and the people who signed them need are responsible for how good they perform.

Why would they do extra?

{Ed001's Note - their contracts are not like yours, you cannot compare the situations. It just shows complete ignorance.}

01 Jul 2018 05:12:37
I don’t have a contract with work, just a usual months notice. I do understand players for a team are different as clubs need to insure their investment but if players ain’t wanted by new management and don't go it shows their only here for cash

{Ed001's Note - you will still have to have a contract, even temporary workers have a contract of some kind. It is a legal requirement.}

01 Jul 2018 07:14:18
That’s fair enough about the contracts being different however if players feel their being victimised by their Manager or being singled out they are entitled to go down the grievance procedure

{Ed001's Note - and what would their complaint be? That they have been asked to train harder and longer because the data shows they lack the fitness required to do their job to the level required? It is very difficult for a footballer to attempt a grievance procedure, even when they are in the right.}

01 Jul 2018 08:01:52
If they felt they were being singled out for different treatment to other players. I know it is harder for players to prove but it is an option

{Ed001's Note - if you say so. I think I will give up on this as you clearly haven't a clue but are just going to argue out of pure ignorance.}

30 Jun 2018 14:35:52
See some people think Flanagan will play left back at presumably the expense of john? Anyway my concern is we could well line up without any left footed players! I know its maybe not a major issue but I think a couple of lefties help balance a team.

30 Jun 2018 16:39:27
We will probably line up without any gingers too! while we're on the subject, we need to get a few capricorns in to balance the team and get rid of a coupkle of the O negative blood types.

30 Jun 2018 19:44:25
negri all the gingers congregate in the east of glasgow

01 Jul 2018 05:22:15
What is your post about Negri? . Ill informed and at best damn .

01 Jul 2018 19:16:08
who ties your shoes in the morning jazza?

30 Jun 2018 12:57:35
Steven Davis still bosses the NI midfield and without doubt if he came back to the bears he'd be one of the best if not the best midfielders in Scotland and at 33 he's at the peak of his powers and with barrowloads of experience and a dyed in the wool bear too boot and the one player who stayed when it all went tits up so we at least got a few pittance for him. Always welcome back on edminston drive.

30 Jun 2018 19:17:34
Taking a 33yo Davis into an already full midfield would be a backward step. Knowing his colour of blood I would take him as a midfield trainer in a heartbeat to add some steel.

30 Jun 2018 09:04:57
I noticed the nostalgia brigade was out in the force the other day harping on and biting the hand for a Steven Davis return and a captaincy armband. We want players with their best days ahead of them and it amazes me how many fans look back and not forward. And yes goalkeepers careers are different and a 33 year old McGregor is in a different career phase to a 33 year old Davis. There are fans wanting to see the best of a fit Rossiter and young Docherty given the chance to flourish. Arfield and Murphy will start. That still leaves out the likes of Jack, Dorrans, Ejario, Windass and Candeias. We need to strengthen striking options, offload the players we all know aren't good enough and which I haven't listed and sell two or three for a good return. Forget Davis and let him play out the end game of his career elsewhere. We just got rid of 38 year old Miller.

30 Jun 2018 10:16:01
A 33 year old Mcgregor would have been nice, we got the 36 year old!

30 Jun 2018 10:28:57
Do agree with kfraser regarding looking forward not back and I wouldn’t have signed McGregor whose best days are behind him now. No sell on value either. The reality is we need to buy young players develop them and hopefully sell on for profit

30 Jun 2018 10:31:47
A 38 year old McGregor is what we got actually. Still twice the player Foderingham will ever be though

30 Jun 2018 10:43:38
He is 36 mate

30 Jun 2018 10:48:48
McGregor won Hull city player of the year last season 33 is far from too old for a keeper, a few years left in him .

30 Jun 2018 10:49:37
Yeah he’s 36 not 38, come back in a couple of year.

30 Jun 2018 10:50:48
Keepers peak later in life, arguably we have bought him at a time when he will be at his peak. There is a massive list of keepers who are sensational yet 36 or older.

I wouldn’t put it past McGregor saving his best till last.

30 Jun 2018 12:50:39
Is Buffon not about 59 lol it truly does seem like he is because he just been around forever lol

30 Jun 2018 13:08:11
Kfraser have a day off, people wanted davis back because he is much better than what we have. Same with mcgregor, massive upgrade. Who cares about age or sell on fee's for every player. We need experience and quality, davis and mcgregor are both. Davis is much better than jack and dorrans. #absolute bam.

{Ed0333's Note - agreed Coldo, sometimes It’s about the destination and not the journey. In order for you guys to try and match Celtic your gonna have to spunk lots of money on players regardless of age, taxes, agents fees etc.

30 Jun 2018 14:27:42
Ah yeah 36. I apologise. So at only 36 he's actually 3 times the player of Fod

30 Jun 2018 14:29:04
mcgregor off peak is still better than fods, mcgregor comes back wiser, more exsperianced in what he have, get rid of fods, alnwick and mcorie is enough cover, were stockpiled in midfield, no need for davis even though a very good footballer with a brain, jack still young to push on, dorrans injury free will be good he was good in england that doesn't disapear overnight. thing is we haven't spunked money in market, good bosmans, and loans so far, clear out still in need, alves, curdoso, hodson, halliday, fods, forrester, herrera. we still need centre back, and a striker. london jock

30 Jun 2018 15:28:46
ArthurD the reality is that we cannot bridge the financial gap in the next 3 years. So right now it’s more important that we challenge Celtic on the park than it is to develop youngsters for profit. Shagger is comfortably the best keeper in the country.

30 Jun 2018 16:01:01
BigMarv

I know what your saying however I disagree that McGregor is the best keeper in Scotland. I also live in Hull and can tell you that Hull fans aren’t that fussed about him going and are more upset about Dawson leaving

30 Jun 2018 16:13:53
They might not be that fussed, but I believe he was their Player of the year? Who’s better then? Lewis? Gordon? Fod? Shagger by some distance imo. Also Davis is and always has been better than Scott Brown.

30 Jun 2018 16:23:41
Who in scotland is a better keeper than mcgregor, arthur?

30 Jun 2018 18:30:39
a lot of pi$$ mcgregor is by far a massive improvement to team and hull had offered him a new deal which he turned down to come back to us

30 Jun 2018 22:05:06
Already said Hull City player of the. Year, Stevie G building the spine of the team from back to front attacking signings next enjoy don't criticise, think he knows what he wants keeper wise .

01 Jul 2018 07:17:39
Unfortunately Gordon is better than McGregor and will be the Scotland number 1 under former Rangers manager McLeish

01 Jul 2018 11:50:33
Is that the same gordon that never comes for a cross, and when he does he flaps at it. Harry kane late equalizer at hampden for example. Celtic fans moan about him. In no way is gordon better than mcgregor👍
