Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

30 Oct 2018 23:45:22
I despair at some of my fellow fans on here. It's expected from the Tim posters who are consumed by all things Rangers!
Gerrard must go!
Sell Tav!
Morelos is Tom Kite!
The list could go on and on. The same Colin Nish on a game by game basis. Since when did we as Rangers fans lose our loyalty? Are we that fickle that we have lost sight of the bigger picture?

31 Oct 2018 04:26:13
Here here UJ. No one likes getting beaten, least of all in a cup semi. I get that. But we even got beaten sometimes when Smith was manager! Thank god this website didn’t exist then or Laudrup would have been run out of town by pitchfork wielding keyboard warriors for having hair that was too nice v Dunfermline.

31 Oct 2018 07:17:38
Agree UJ this site would have chased a young super Ally out of town.

31 Oct 2018 07:34:56
they are just glory hunters with us when we are winning and sharpening the knife at the first defeat, top of europa and 2 points behind the puddle drinkers and its all doom and gloom, granted we got knocked out by a poor sheep side but we had no strikers and arfield our best creative midfielder was also not fully fit.

31 Oct 2018 08:17:46
Union Jack

The manager has been quoted a few times this week as saying the current level of performances have been unacceptable and has questioned the big game mentality of several players. So it’s not just fans who are having a go at the team. I think his comments are spot on and it’s refreshing to hear the Manager being so honest.

31 Oct 2018 09:43:40
Well said UJ, may the streets be broad and narrow we will follow on. 🇫🇷🇬🇧🇫🇷🇬🇧.

31 Oct 2018 10:01:51
@arthurd - I’m not talking about performances. I’m as gutted as the next fan at getting dumped out by a poor Sheep side. It’s the over reaction to any poor team / player performance 👍.

31 Oct 2018 12:25:32
Tav shouldn’t be captain it’s that simple and he should gonhe is a bottled simple as.

Some fans need to realise we are allowed to criticise the team as they are happy taking the plaudits with a win.

01 Nov 2018 23:21:31
Of course we can be critical but to wildly throw about comments like sack the manager, same as warberton, sell the captain, is not helpful.

30 Oct 2018 23:48:35
Hi All,

For tomorrow I think we will see a couple of changes, My guess -

Mcgregor
Tav Goldson Katic Flan
Arfield Jack Haliday
Laff Morleos Kent

My reasons, Katic is as good if not better (only 1 bad game) as Worral and has scored from corners. I like Worral but I've said before he is a we bit hesitant with the ball at his feet.

Haliday and Kent showed a good partnership down the left, which produced goals.

Laff instead of Midddleton for height on set pieces, we can expect loads at Ibrox although Mids may come on later when Laff has burnt off his Twix.

Lassana has been relatively poor and needs to improve. Ovie has an ankle knock but needs a breather.

Candias - max effort, good positions but poor decisions and final pass not consistent enough, if he produced a quality pass 9 times out of 10 with the positions he makes for himself we would be laughing but he would be worth 20 million and playing in La Liga.

The other change I would make is get Kent on set pieces, he was at the start of the season and can deliver consistent top quality delivery with either foot.

Lets hope for all 3 points and a dominant display whoever plays.

Can we go second tomorrow if results go our way, small chance but would love to see that.

31 Oct 2018 04:18:20
I'd go.

Mcgregor
Tav Goldson Katic Halliday
Jack Arfield rossiter
Candieas Morelos Kent

Freshens it a little but still keeping same formation.

Like to see grezda Middleton lafferty start getting more game time so if game allows they would be three changes. Give rossiter an hour.

31 Oct 2018 08:17:13
Tjbb that works as long as we can supply Laff from set plays because of late that's been woeful Tav needs a break from corners IMO Candias great work till final ball also needs work at hummel centre think we will win tonight looking at a fast high tempo start.

31 Oct 2018 08:19:13
I’d rather see McCrorie in midfield than Hallida.

31 Oct 2018 11:27:02
We need Mccrorie dig in the middle. No one has put in a tackle for weeks
Lassana bang avertafter reasonable start. Not the answer going forward. Watch him he is hiding, getting beside opposing he can’t receive a pass.

31 Oct 2018 15:33:18
Have to agree Jboy, and I’m gutted because he looked terrific until the injury. I have high hopes for Rossiter, on his day he has the potential to be our best midfielder and hopefully his injury woes are behind him. (Not holding my breath) . Hopefully a solid performance from him if he is picked and if Jack can play as the holding man it may allow Rossiter and whoever to get forward and bring us goals from midfield. c'mon the Gers!

30 Oct 2018 18:18:57
Tav and Candeias lack quality and must be moved on in January.

30 Oct 2018 19:36:56
Good sales talk!

30 Oct 2018 19:43:27
Couldn’t agree more both fall way short when it comes to the big games. Take the money and run.

30 Oct 2018 20:10:49
Do you like any of our players Arthur? All I ever see you doing on here is moaning and bringing our players down.

30 Oct 2018 20:44:48
Think we picked up both of them for under £1M combined and have had great value from both. I feel we will need better to be winning titles regularly but other areas are the priority in January for me!

30 Oct 2018 21:10:36
Frustrated blue

Given plenty of players credit when it’s due. Please read all my posts before commenting and not those you cherry pick to have a go at me. If you don’t like my opinions then don’t read or comment on them.

30 Oct 2018 21:25:31
I'm with Arthur when it comes to them 2.

30 Oct 2018 22:17:57
Were you saying the same after the Vienna match?

30 Oct 2018 22:55:11
I agree about candeias, not Tav. We'll struggle to bring in quality in January though. Maybe a cheap deal for Lewis MacLeod? Or a pre contract even. He's not been injured in a few months now!

30 Oct 2018 23:00:27
We have to accept the current Rangers team is a work in progress. If we are honest only McGregor would be a regular in previous successful Rangers teams. The rest are not at that level. Morelos could be in a few years.

30 Oct 2018 23:24:50
1m for both what p. h tav we knocked back 3 million tav from West Brom both good players just end product think other players need to be moved on although everybody has their price.

30 Oct 2018 23:46:21
Some on here are maybe needing to stop being so fickle and look at the bigger picture and support the team instead of analysing every game in minute detail!

31 Oct 2018 08:02:28
Arthur d, when? Don't think I can recall a positive post from you ato all if I'm being honest mate? You just seem to appear when we get beat or someone has a bad game wanting everybody sold.

31 Oct 2018 08:23:26
Union Jack

That’s what fans do is analise every game in detail and discuss. The manager too has criticised the level of performance recently and blunty told them if they don’t perform they will be replaced. All I have done is said I don’t think Tavernier or Candeias are good enough and they should be replaced.

30 Oct 2018 16:51:26
Todays press conference with gerrard and Rossiter was a good watch (on the gers YouTube channel and website if anyone wants to see) get the sense gerrard is not happy after the weekend understandably and took control when Rossiter was asked about gerrards comments on finding players who will turn up if the current crop don't, he simply puts out to his players that it's a clear warning, I'm glad to hear it from him, it's about time the first team realise the opportunity they have in playing for an institution, they should learn from the likes of windass and Barry McKay who I'm sure if they were being honest with themselves wished they were still here playing infront of an outstanding crowd to the back drop of the Ibrox flood lights in Europe

Sometimes the get the job done or I'll find someone who will approach is what's required either the modern footballer and Gerrard definitely seems on the money with that January should be an interesting window.

30 Oct 2018 20:10:26
Does anyone think he’ll be given money to spend in January?

30 Oct 2018 20:20:26
Bathgatebear, yes. We have made lots from EL which I suggest we had not budgeted for.

30 Oct 2018 20:49:52
Striker on loan I would guess and a goal scoring midfielder hopefully signed permenantly. Cash will be available as always though nothing major I would have thought!

31 Oct 2018 00:05:35
Quality press conference step up and play
meet the required standard out you will be replaced
Simples. It was like watching Souness growling.
For Sure he is a far better player than a first thought he was.

30 Oct 2018 15:36:09
As continually say we need creative player in midfield to open up defenses. Last player of that ilk played for gers was Trevor Steven.

30 Oct 2018 15:57:51
Artera, De boer Not count?

30 Oct 2018 16:21:08
Gascoigne?

30 Oct 2018 16:53:44
A great player Trevor Steven was but come on we have had some wonderful midfielders in the last 20 years?

30 Oct 2018 16:58:04
Hit the agree button by mistake on that top post.

30 Oct 2018 19:16:27
Trevor Steven! Goodness I’ve seen it all now we have had at least half a dozen players since him who were actually better.

30 Oct 2018 13:55:02
My starting 11.

McGregor
Flanagan goldson Worrall borisic
McCrorie jack arfield
Kent morleas lafferty.

Apart from Worrall and Kent I want to start seeing our own players getting a game, the 2 young boys in midfield are complete luxury players. As for tav sell him and get another striker on board.

30 Oct 2018 15:12:53
Tav is captain.

30 Oct 2018 18:28:07
Tav has limited skill and heart for the battle
Get rid of.

30 Oct 2018 19:41:58
Aye - play a 4-3-3 with Arfield and Lafferty out of position. Behave. McCrorie right mid lol.

30 Oct 2018 19:58:41
Barasic is injured and we would need to play 3-5-2 if both Lafferty and Morelos were in the starting 11.

30 Oct 2018 20:14:33
That's the 11 I'd play not in the positions off course.

McGregor

Flanagan Worrall goldson barisic
McCrorie
Jack Arfield
Lafferty Kent
Morales.

30 Oct 2018 20:21:43
5 goals and 2 assists in 9 games from right back. Tav is captain and is having a good season. Knives are out after one substandard performance? Fickle.

30 Oct 2018 20:29:27
5 goals, many are pens?

30 Oct 2018 21:28:20
Naw he's no.

30 Oct 2018 23:14:25
Bruisedbear,

It’s not just one poor performance though he has consistently poor in the big games especially at Hampden. He isn’t a big game player.

31 Oct 2018 04:20:21
Sweep. Would you say that about Sandy Jardine? Probably not but the same was true of him. Jardine’s goals to games % over his entire Rangers career was 11%, Tav’s is 22%. I’m not saying that Tav is better than Jardine was but I’m saying that some folk don’t half talk pants and don’t know a good player when they see one.

31 Oct 2018 07:06:00
Bruisedbear since you got the percentange of goals scored away and find out how goals to games both players caused goals, I'd suggest tavs is miles infront of Jardines. Also these stats are wrong anyway tav had a few years in the 2nd tier against binmen etc.

31 Oct 2018 08:06:10
Good full backs are the hardest to find, maybe folk would be happier if we sold tav and ended up with some pish like stephend o'donnell.

31 Oct 2018 12:56:55
Sweep. The stats are correct.

30 Oct 2018 12:56:48
So reading a lot about Gerrard can't cut it up here and that our European form is overshadowing the dismal performance in the league. To be fair getting sick of reading this pish. One bad result and getting people calling for him to be sacked. Where do we go form there back to square fukin one. Who would we bring in. Billy Davies, Alex mcleish. Wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft pole with rubbish on the end of it. Some fans need to wake up nd realise that a semi final defeat with no out and out striker playing isn't the end of the world. give the man time people are expecting a transformation over night which you can't expect concidering the garbage from the last 3 managers. Don't get me wrong was disappointed with the result but we bullied them. Much has changed since a year ago at that stage when we played Motherwell. In that game we got bullied now we are the bullies. Can only get better 🔴 ⚪ 🔵.

30 Oct 2018 13:19:23
It's not 1 bad result though. Motherwell, Livingston, Celtic, Aberdeen is 4 bad results coupled with 4 bad performances.

30 Oct 2018 13:24:43
Spot on am fed up with this also too many
so called fans ready to jump on the bandwagon
fans support the team win or lose.

30 Oct 2018 13:41:32
Sweep I so do u want the manager sacked. I'm stunned people don't see our improvement.

30 Oct 2018 13:50:31
There's improvement, if I'm honest I didn't want gerrard from the start, but now we have him we must keep him. Changing managers every year isn't the answer. If I'm also being honest I couldn't give a monkey's about European football either, we must stop 10iar and SG must stop chasing Europe and realise what most of us want, the league championship.

30 Oct 2018 15:02:14
Sweep you don't care about the European nights back at ibrox and plus that with the extra cash we get you don't care bout that. You should. Nd we need to stop 10 in a row nd beat celtic mate we are 2 points off them. The difference SG has made on and off the field is amazing nd to be fair al say wat he said Thursday night aye we are disappointed but that goes to show how far we have come in such a short period of time. Al am saying give him time by the end of the season we could al be suprised.

30 Oct 2018 17:06:34
I'm disappointed in the Aberdeen result as much as anyone else is but to say it's only one bad result is a bit naive I sure don't want Gerrard sacked as we have improved and our European run has been the highlight so far as I wouldn't have expected to be doing as well as what we have but I agree the league is our bread and butter first and foremost we have dropped silly points on 4 occasions already this season and saying we are only 2 points behind the vermin lot but we have to take into consideration that it is their worst start to a season for how ever many years kind of makes the start to the league slightly better than it is I'd like to see our league form improve away from home if it does we won't be far away.

30 Oct 2018 20:07:47
Sweep 1- European football is a must to generate additional revenue for the club.
If it wasn't for SG some of the current squad wouldn't have come to the club.
We need to move on to the next match v Killie.
So much negativity at the moment.
In SG we trust.

30 Oct 2018 20:23:04
Sweep 1 very parochial, also the EL money will allow us to improve on players to stop ten.

30 Oct 2018 23:19:46
Gregmc 1690,

We certainly didn’t bully Aberdeen they had a game plan and we played right into their hands and their keeper didn’t have a save to make. However I do agree getting rid of Gerard isn’t the answer and I think we can really only start to expect a league win next season.

30 Oct 2018 12:41:26
I freshen up the side a bit for tomorrows game.
Players out and in for me would be.
In
Morelos
Gredza
Arfield
Katic

Out
Sadiq
Candieas
Coulibaly
Goldson.

30 Oct 2018 13:32:31
Goldson I don’t think so been our best player this season.

30 Oct 2018 15:45:19
Aye that’s right let’s sack S G not we just played a manager and team that’s been together for at least 4 years who we played of the park supposed to be second best team and one the best young managers well our mans been in job 5 mins so let’s get grip lve said before give two more windows and we’ll be flying.

30 Oct 2018 16:51:08
What you on about RedGerr hahah.

30 Oct 2018 16:52:25
36thulsterdivision - I agree with you, not trying to taker aim at him however I feel the team maybe needs a freshen up. i'd like to see Katic back in but at same time I think Worrall has stood out since coming in.
Also i'm only talking about for this midweek game not permanently. I think we have done well with squad rotation so far this season.

30 Oct 2018 20:25:28
We are missing real dig in middle of park, no one puts tackles in, get mccrorie back in.

30 Oct 2018 22:38:59
I think squad rotation is what has cost us points. Of course I understand the odd change due to number of games and also when there are injuries they are forced changes. I would like to see Gerrard pick his best starting 11 of uninjured players obviously and stick with it for a run of games, I just feel it would bring maybe a bit more consistency, partnerships would get better as well. I just don't like when he swaps a LB a CB a CM and a winger every other game, it's like playing football manager. Obviously just my opinion, probably why I am not a football manager lol.

30 Oct 2018 09:06:07
After reading kings statement we are set for more court cases . This seems never ending I hope the club have new lawyers because the previous 1 lost every single time he went to court.

30 Oct 2018 10:36:13
Time to stop wasting money money and accept ashleys got us by thu short and curlys.

30 Oct 2018 11:49:48
We have to keep fighting MA. We need to rid the poison from our club.

30 Oct 2018 11:52:23
I agree jboy my problem is we keep losing the cases.

30 Oct 2018 13:42:45
If it's true he has not paid us money we will win that case.

30 Oct 2018 14:03:40
ulster could you please list all the court cases this board has lost apart from this one?

30 Oct 2018 19:18:20
There’s been 2 this summer already.

30 Oct 2018 19:29:55
Really ulster? What were those then?

30 Oct 2018 20:16:05
We've had 2 pay sports direct lawyer fees the last twice we've been in court Brian, maybe you should catch up before trying to tell someone they are wrang when the guys got his post correct.

30 Oct 2018 21:06:32
Well said frustrated blue he’s obviously a bit behind the times our brian.

31 Oct 2018 09:42:28
sorry lads if i am wrong, but wasn't that the same case, not 2 separate ones? and when i made my comment i was asking about all the court cases that we have lost with sports direct and as yet not one person has listed anything and as regards to the lawyers fees. didn't the judge rule that we had to pay the fees but he would look at the amount as he deemed them excessive?

win or lose lads, we have to keep fighting as you are all aware if dave king had not stepped in when he did we may not been sitting here typing about our beloved club.
we won't win every court case, we won't win every match, but what should we do?

Review Of The Day 30th October 2018

30 Oct 2018 07:29:09
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 30th October 2018

30 Oct 2018 06:04:46
Morning bears, still a bit sore from sunday was the most disappointing defeat beside losing at parkhead for me,
Just wondering what bears on here think of gerrard as manager now we are a few months in to his tenure, personally I feel he does have to make improvements in his ability to effect the game in play, 10 minutes is not enough time for the guys from the bench to be fully effective and at the weekend I was watching thinking Aberdeen will score from a long ball or set piece and we'll leave it too late and he must see these things coming and change them before it's too late, though I in no way think his job should be in jeopardy at the moment as I have read a lot of people saying, just wondered what the thoughts on here are, are you bears happy with Gerrard in charge?

30 Oct 2018 07:19:54
Good post. You make some great points. I was the same as you in that I could see that coming, even though the sheep had hardly mustered an attempt at goal. That said, I really thought McGregor should be coming for a ball like that so close to his goal. I'm sure the sheep goalie, granted who is a giant, would have cleared us out to get to the ball. Steven has had an impressive start to his tenure, no doubt, and we have been unfortunate in a few domestic games where we have dropped points. Games against them, Livingston and possibly Motherwell haven't been good enough. We were unfortunate to lose both strikers on Sunday which left SG with a quandary which he didn't solve in the end. I'd possibly have played Kent, Grezda and Middleton with Candeias supporting to try and out pace their defence. We needed to hit the by line regularly and flash balls across the box, try and push and pull them all over the place and tire them out. All in all he deserves a shot at it and looking on the positive side, the team is gelling and will get better. Disappointing but still a lot to be positive about given where we were under Pedro and at the end of the season.

30 Oct 2018 07:49:59
Totally agree i'm a fan of Gerrard and obviously want him to succeed, but yes i'd like to see changes made before 80 mins. Also his team selection was wrong and why did Sadiq play 90 minutes?

30 Oct 2018 08:02:42
Saw the exact same coming, I knew if they got a corner they would end up scoring. I've said 3 games in a row now he's waited far too long to make subs sof aye, I totally agree with you Rich, doing well but still a bit to go for me.

30 Oct 2018 09:35:11
I am still happy with him in charge, I totally agree that he has to start making subs with plenty of time to change the game, rather than throwing someone on hoping that they do something to win it. Granted that sometimes works, it's not going to work all the time as we have seen. I will say that the players themselves have to be better as it's not always down to the manager, for instance the countless occasions where Tav couldn't put a decent ball in, the CBs always playing long aimless balls or losing the ball with a slack 10 yard pass. We need someone to play that 1 pass that none of our players seem to be able to play, we need someone to drive us forward as to me the play is slowed down far too often when you should be hitting on a quick counter. So I am still happy at the moment but if we keep getting poor results and poor performances every other game then we won't be winning anything.

30 Oct 2018 13:57:31
Agree guys level headed posts and that’s what’s needed at Ibrox on Wednesday get behind the team and make Ibrox a real fortress 🇬🇧🔴⚪️🔵🇬🇧.

30 Oct 2018 16:43:10
Over the moon he’s in charge. Between him and Allen they have improved the professionalism around the playing side of the club. No grasses running to their friends in the media with stories of discontent.

We as a club need to get away from looking for the quick fix. We’re definitely going places and I’ve enjoyed his tenure so far. With a new squad and manager their is bound to be some bumps along the way but progress is definitely being made.
In Gerrard We Trust! Let’s Go! #55
👍🔴⚪️🔵👍.

30 Oct 2018 18:17:30
Absolutely delighted that he's in charge. I hope he is for the foreseeable future.

30 Oct 2018 21:58:12
Agree totally union Jack. A blind man can see the progress in such a short space of time with such an overhaul of staff.

As SG said himself at the start, there'll be a few bumps along the way.

Let's get behind them. Nothing I've heard from SG so far makes me think he'll settle for mediocrity.

30 Oct 2018 00:11:13
I see that young Andy Dallas scored another two goals for the reserves/ youth (can't remember which) . Fully believe that if Gerrard merits giving Middleton a run out in games that this young lad should have at least been on the bench for Sunday's game. Despite sadiq not being utterly useless on Sunday it's quite obvious that he is not Gona cut it much and I believe the young lad Dallas should merit that 3rd choice striker role and hopefully get a run out if possible in the run up to Xmas.

29 Oct 2018 23:09:48
Quadruple out window but treble still on.
