Maybe I am miles from what is required, but surely our management team should sort out the foundations and walk before we run. Forget about having one eye on a possible Celtic game and try to prepare half-cocked for what might not happen. Just build a good team on what we have and concentrate on developing young players, home-grown or imports that have potential. If we choose on that basis, I'm sure the rewards will be reaped.

All well and good saying that but if we start losing games then the gates start falling.

they don't want to lose the fans

plus we need to be back in the top league asap for the finance it brings (all be it very little)

Agree0 Disagree0

1-1 with Dundee tonight was a failed opportunity to show some quality.
Instead it seems to underline this squad as new spfl championship average quality not SPFL premier league quality.
The hype around four trophies and cups really is a nonsense. The squad is the second highest paid and therefore should be challenging Celtic as well as any but the high costs are not delivering the top notch results.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not get carried away about last nights 1-1 draw mate, it was still a friendly and I realise the eight new players should have been playing out their skins to impress the manager but most people know new signings are not bought to sit on the bench and more important not to pick up any injuries than to win a friendly

Andy

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 "a failed opportunity" it was a friendly with dundee for goodness sake

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Give the team a chance as this was the first time the new players had played together plus Wallace and mcculloch were rested.

Can't make gers game tonight☹ so thought I'd watch celtic game to watch the swedes kick ass, well hopefully, lol only kidding got no problem with scottish clubs doing well in europe. Haha {The Ed039's Note - Only BBC coverage is on radio, I think the second leg is on TV but not tonight)

2)& ed cheers that's what I thought until today ed and @1 cheers I was trying first Row but will try that sound mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it that people must always make up some excuse to watch Celtic games? We all know the rangers are miles away from being good enough for top league and are not that good to watch. Celtic are entertaining and growing to new hieghts and in Europe with a lot of excitement around them, so it's easy and no brainer which game one would watch. And everyone knows the majority watch Celtic games so why make up excuses that you had to watch them, when you and others want to?

Agree0 Disagree0

3. 'Celtic are entertaining and growing to new hieghts and in Europe with a lot of excitement around them'

Obviously not enough excitement around them to even get near remotely filling their stadium last night. As for growing to new heights you beat a Swedish team who most people had never heard of 1-0. Not exactly setting Euope alight.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 wow another seat counting freak! Get a life mate because its just embarrassing now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with watching them. a lot of their fans watched us at the weekend despite it being in a foreign language lol! As fpr seat counting, yes it is very boring

the thing I don't get is everyones moaning about we should produce homegrown talent, has anyone thought of looking for young players OUTSIDE the uk africa, south america and asia, celtic have had massive success in it my evidence is Wanyama, Ki and so on and then getting players in their teens and early 20's in like adam matthews, fraser forster, gary hooper etc but WE don't try the same thing {The Ed039's Note - I have been editing this site for quite a while and I can assure you there have been plenty of posts saying the same thing that you have just said)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Look at the amount of posters on here who want Novo, Miller etc back!

Agree0 Disagree0

What happened to the youth policy from last year.

Are the Gers missing the opportunity to showcase the products of the world class facility at Murray Park (yes - it is still called Murray Park)

The signing of free agents - players who have no value on the market - has pushed a generation of youngsters further away from a first team slot.

This surely is a display of lack of confidence in the kids and a complete lack of faith by the manager in his existing squad.

Please remember a t the start of last years campaign, Ally had no less than FIVE full internationalists

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen these kids finished miles behind in 19's league. They were not good enough for that level, so clearly not good enough for a higher level.

Is it true parts of the ground are closed for the game?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is big john going to tell the hoards tonight the big secret weres the deeds for the big house and loads of murry park lol

Agree0 Disagree0

A friendly game not selling out - no big deal - a champions league tie not selling out now that's different

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 FFS the season hasn't even started yet and you've started making digs about crowd sizes already. DH {The Ed039's Note - Its all very boring)

@2: yup, Rangers didn't manage to sell out when they last played qualifiers during the summer holidays either. It's totally understandable.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 you're that biter you'd say that, pure jealously man season hasn't started yet folk still spending time with family on holiday etc get a grip.

Agree0 Disagree0

#2 Rangers last CL game against Malmo had 28000. The last European game had 32000 against Maribor. It says Celtic had 40000 last night. So not sure what the point you were making was.

The Dundee game last night had a crowd of 5244 in a ground that holds 12000. Was there a boycott? Did the fans think it was Utd you were playing? lol

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 pmsl no I think they are boycotting the city of Dundee! But truth be known, who can blame them lol

We're is Nicky Law in your team, he is one of our best players, did you see the game on Sunday!!

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't play trialists in League Cup games

Agree0 Disagree0

Op think we should see two teams tonight,
One team for the first half, along the lines of what you have there

and then second half with the new signings and guys coming back from injury to give them a run out, need to have them all match fit come September 1

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll start with the team as close to the starting 11 as he can

Agree0 Disagree0

Play our first choice eleven

I can help but think Ally is making a huge mistake even considering the latest trialists, I'm all for brining in experience to help the younger lads develop but when the experience is a 33 year old lad from Mali who hasn't kicked a ball in years I get a bit concerned.

I think we now have enough senior players and the focus now should be on getting the right blend of experience and youth. Where we are at just now I would much rather see a young lad gaining valuable experience than a past his best journeyman trying to make a few bob before his playing days come to an end.

Ally must be brave and show no fear in putting faith in the youngsters and give them their chance to prosper, I've been disappointed in the way Barry McKay has faded from the limelight, with more experience gained through match play he could become a very good player. We must put the vast focus on developing the youth players as this is the future of rangers, in years to come I would much rather see a team full of homegrown players than multi million pound signings from abroad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The two trialists share the same agent as mohsni. Maybe he said he would give them a go to get mohsni?

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Barry makay has been injured

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you'll find mckay will be 'injured' quite a lot.
isn't that why he was let go from previous club?

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 What a ridiculous comment. The lad's 18 years old, plays for the Scottish under 19s and has been at Rangers since he was 16 after a hip problem at Kilmarnock. Why the inverted commas suggesting his injuries aren't real when they happen? Have you ever played football and got injured? Criticising the youngsters doesn't do anyone any good. Lay off.

Agree0 Disagree0

3 that is quite the most ridiculous post I've seen a long time, god help us, Tommyblue

Can anyone shed some light on what's happening with the Naming of Ibrox/ with Sports direct etc?
And to that point as well Murray Park?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The "Sports Direct Ibrox Arena" will be announced in the next two/three weeks after all season tickets have been purchased. There not going to rock the boat just now.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, 1 obviously has all the answers m8
