All this clammer around Gilmour and his interest from down south has made us forget about the youth we have that could make a potential breakthrough season next year. Burt/ the McCrories/ Rudden/ Thomson ( not the Thompson on loan/ Barjonas and young Liam Kelly who has been outstanding for 2years between the posts. I've followed the academy games a lot and I can really see some good quality youngsters breaking through outwith Gilmour who is an extremely talented boy. Burt could break through in preseason in place of hyndman for me.

31 Mar 2017 21:44:21
Have to agree mate with a bit of luck we could have 3/4 first team players come out of the current crop! Not sure burt would replace hyndman just yet though! Really like barjonas and ashmore! Only saw them once or twice though, Anyone watch the boys frequently that can shed any light on these two players?

31 Mar 2017 22:00:07
Hyndman has passion oozing out of him pity he will go back what a player he could be

01 Apr 2017 13:11:29
I still think that we must have at least 6 players who are solid 25-29 year old players who can boss the game physically too many 19 to 22 year olds in squad will not be strong enough

01 Apr 2017 13:15:10
You must be joking, Teddy, Burt is about 75% behind Hyndman and not a single one of the other kids you mention are anywhere close to being Rangers players. I also watch the youngsters carefully and most of them have a long, long way to go if they ever make it at all.

Gilmour will sign for Celtic.

31 Mar 2017 15:54:30
The only issue with Gilmour is he could be technically brilliant and have a Hammer of a shot on him, attributes oozing BUT the lad still has a fair bit to go physically! Haven't seen the lad in the flesh only pics . So if he stays and he turns 16 do we think Pedro will give him game time in first team? Should he?

The chances of him getting clambered by a thirty odd year opponent would be devastating! Billy may want to know if he will get a shot next season and I know some players have made their debut as young as 16 I even think the lad Knox played for Livingston at poss 16 maybe 17 and I know Rodney did but he did look a lot more built than our Billy does! So do we pay the lad 7-8-9k a week knowing that he'll be playing Academy football next season as the risk ogre putting him in the first team may be too soon for him physically!

If Billy does decide to stay and I hope he does I hope he is truly confident in his ability and knows that he doesn't need to go chasing the wages Down South! I do think the lad would stay if we offered a package close to what Chelsea are offering. Hope we sign Billy up on a 4yr Contract AND put a minimum fee on him of at least 4-5 million.
This deal could also do a lot for King IF he sanctions this deal I for one will tip much hat as at end of the day its a gamble! Its knocking back 400-600k so if Billy stays then fair play to King. All he needs to do now is realise that he should communicate with the fans more and 1st up tell us where we are financially and how much he is giving Pedro!

Surely Caixhina would have been informed just exactly how much King would invest in HIM, Caixhina would not have took the job unless he was told that a minimum would be given to him but HOW MUCH? Do NOT tell us what we want to hear then hop on a plane to South Africa with his fingers crossed just tell us our situation and this is what we're doing because of it! Anyways thoughts Bears, will Gilmour stay? And how much do you think Pedro will have to spend?

31 Mar 2017 21:48:11
He is tiny, even for his age. Still built like a boy, at 15 you can look as good as Messi, doesn't mean he will end up anything special.

01 Apr 2017 19:34:24
Personally for the sake of 500k I'd love to keep the lad and get him involved in the 1st team next season, I totally get the point about not being physically strong but neither was Ryan Gauld and he looked pretty decent in the spl.
Even just training with the 1st team regularly will toughen the boy up then we can start giving him 10/ 15 minute cameos at ibrox and see how he does.
Obviously it would be a win win for everyone, us, Gilmour and even scotland if the boy can get regular football with us, then in 3/ 4 years pick which team he wants to play for and know that he won't have to go out on loan.
But if he moves now who can honestly blame him

02 Apr 2017 02:57:54
Billy gilmour mind is made up way money and so is his family's another great prospect going to England that we will never see again like John fleck

31 Mar 2017 14:20:40
Can't honestly believe what all the fuss about the boy Gilmore he is 15 think we have bigger issues to worry about if he wants to go no big deal in my opinion it just shows how far we still have to go let's worry about our first team problems.

31 Mar 2017 14:50:22
He is destined to leave but it would be better for his development to stay and if he does fulfil his potential then the club could make some serious cash

31 Mar 2017 16:16:40
some people care about the future of the club and want to hold on to our best for the future so we don't have to spend as much.

31 Mar 2017 22:39:36
Would have loved him to stay but I remember john fleck got the same reviews what happened to him?

01 Apr 2017 22:43:49
JD90

Currently plays for Sheffield Utd who are Championship bound. Heard he is playing well

31 Mar 2017 12:04:25
What you guys think the chances are off Gilmour getting a place on the bench, with the hope that near the end we have enough of a lead to let him experience ibrox. I think that could be a selling point for the young lad.

31 Mar 2017 14:46:40
I think until he is 16, the only game he could play would be be cup semi due to the different rules

31 Mar 2017 15:55:53
Fintytint would like to see Glamour stay but putting him in the first team could do more harm than good as physically he still has a bit to go but ye never know.

31 Mar 2017 16:17:32
Physically the boy is nowhere near playing in the 1st team at this point

31 Mar 2017 16:04:55
Can he even play for us at 15 thought he had to be 16?

even so i would promise him at least 5 appearances next season to get him to stay as he won't get that down south and if he can't cope then we will know how far he has to come.

but the boy is already 2 ft taller than anya lol

Re: the big thread about the standard of Scottish football.

I like Scottish football. It's meaty. If you compare it to EPL then sure, it's sub-standard. But for me, on its own merit, it's entertaining. Much rather watch it than all the other guff on TV nowadays. Of course there is room for improvement and there have been some good suggestions on here. My biggest pet hate is seeing a televised match with an almost empty stadium. It's embarrassing. What potential investor is looking at that and thinking that seems a worthwhile investment?

Fill the stadiums and the rest will follow IMO. So how do you fill the stadiums? Roofs, ground shares, cheaper ticketing.

But tbh I like watching Scottish football. Sure it's different from EPL, la liga etc but it's still football. I love fitba.

31 Mar 2017 16:11:46
i think you should try to take doncasters job mate!

yes it is meaty and you get a lot less time on the ball up here but i think its a facre when tv pundits are making more money than an entire league. (gary liniker) .
i agree they should be on more money than us in the epl as there is a massive gulf in quality and in spectators but not less than the championship which for me is a tough league but doesn't have the support our teams do and certainly we should be on more that league one down there but we are not that's how big a farce these tv deals are.

and if u are scottish and think we are getting a good deal because its more than the last time just look at the 50 -60 million going to the likes of greece and denmark which have worse football than ours!
