I don't know about my fellow Bears, but i'm really looking forward to the next 9 days of football - a cup final and a cup semi final. A LOT better than playing half a dozen futile games. Hopefully the players will raise the bar against Raith on Sunday and prove their worth against Dundee United.

Yes Gaz, although I am against our total set-up at present, I sincerely hope that all my fellow fans enjoy the games and we win silverware and get the chance of more.
So, all the best to the Glasgow Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Watch yourself gaz youll get a row off the doom merchants for not being negative enough and you never mentioned sacking Ally this will not do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh goodness one of the realists here surprised at the attempt at humour from a super Ally man- must have dropped his pom poms to type his post.
Agreed let's have a bit of decent football- throw off the shackles- Ally forget tactics your no very good at them just let the team play football and try and entertain- AND WIN!

Two quick mentions and I'm surprised no fellow bears have wished young Lewis MacLeod god speed with his fight and comeback from what sounds a nasty pernicious illness. Get well soon lad you are my pick for player of the year and have a great career ahead of you.

And I might be alone in this but good luck to the Jam Tarts I hope sincerely they avoid the plague of liquidation. We went through it and are probably still trying to get through some of its effects and so any decent Rangers fan would not wish this vile reality on any other team in Scotland IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good shout Nbear2, I think we all wish Lewis McLeod a speedy recovery, and not many of us would wish what Rangers have been through on their worst enemies (ok maybe our worst enemies) so good luck to Hearts.

Decent football under McCoist is a fantasy especially against professional footballers unless as you say the players can lift themselves, as much as I want Rangers to win every game especially cup finals I do feel that a cup win will ensure McCoist is still Rangers manager next season and nothing is worth taking that risk, I don't think we will win anyway but I hope it's not embarrassing which is a distinct possibility under McCoist.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf, remember 'time and place'. The realists are 'out and out' bluenoses and only desire what is best for our club. We may not be saying it, about Ally, but I can assure you we are thinking it.
Nbear2, I fully endorse your comments on young Lewis and agree that a successful conclusion to their survival fight would be a great outcome for Hearts.

Agree0 Disagree0

None of us are ally haters but most are realists and understand the way he team plays and coached leaves a hell of a lot to be desired if we all thought he could turn things round we would be delighted but as I have said falling attendances are now a bigger threat to the club than anything and everyone must realise this that it can't cotinue and youth must be given there chance

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Smokey Bear sadly for us mate the Super One will be in charge next season again. There is nobody in charge in the boardroom that would axe him. It would make you greet when you hear young Barry MacKay and young Kyle MacAusland are wasting away in their loan spells although MacKay did apparently get a goal for Morton in their recent win.
@ billyb re a later post about Zenit that will be the second time a team playing us in the later stages are under the spotlight. You will remember Marseille who went on to win one of the early Champions League. We nearly did them think it was effectively in the Semi-Final? Think they were banned the next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 and @5 Who are the realists? Is it you who seem genuinely surprised that the football in the lower leagues of Scotland is crap or me who accepted that we were in for 3 yrs, at the very least, of pain and decided to just get on with it. Nbear 2 was it you who said he was not going back because of your principals? If I'm getting you mixed up I appologise but I can't understand anyone walking out on our team at this point. I'll be treating Sunday like I would the cup finals of old ie up early DVDs on pre cup final refreshments the lot and i'm looking forward to it, it will be the same next week but with less expectation. Yes there's a time and place for everything and this is not the time to have a go at our team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf, you are becoming paranoid about certain poster's comments. You direct your response to 3&5, where nothing was commented against the team. In fact, I would say both Nbear2 and myself are fully backing the team, while having reservations about the manager. Thus, my time and place comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billyb I'm not paranoid and I don't mean to have a go at anyone, I KNOW most posters on here want the same thing that being a successful, viable Rangers but I asked a question who are the realists that you and @3 talk about, you didn't answer. And by the way you did have a wee go at our manager in your post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jyf, In my opinion, the realists accept that we are in a bad place at present with no easy solution.
Without going over old ground, our financial situation is dire with few, if any, practical ways out of it.
The number of players and wage budget is too high.
We have some good players and some with potential that cannot perform to a reasonable standard. Yes, we have won most of our games but at this level and with the money spent it should be done in style.
The club's structure from top to bottom is wrong with, again in my opinion, the wrong manager. A manager chosen by Green for other than footballing reasons.
As for seeing us as doom merchants, you are possibly correct but I see many potential pitfalls that we are not prepared for.
My biggest fear all season was a game against Celtic/Aberdeen or Dundee Utd. Luckily the main one is no longer a threat but I doubt that we have the organisation to do ourselves proud.
Again Jyf, you can call that another wee dig at our manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

@11 green didn't pick the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

12/ being silly now. Green could have replaced him when he kept us going. He chose otherwise, so live in your make believe land if you like and is that your only response to our predicament?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is what my only response to our predicament? To keep going to the games Buying a season ticket buying shares buying shirts not slaughtering the team or manager basicaly just getting on with it like thousands of others. I don't know the answer but neither do you.

Agree0 Disagree0

My apologies mate but you did ask my definition of a realist in our predicament. If I had the answer I wouldn't be posting here and if your happy to continue as you see it, good luck to you.
My fear is that unless there are radical changes we are well and truly goosed.
