Not saying that Arfields challenge was a great idea at all, rush of blood to the head me thinks. The point I would like to make is the keeper play acting after the challenge holding his head like he was hit by a sniper, then gets up instantly to get involved in the melly. Very similar to the Villa Real sending off. I don't want to discuss the tackle, no point it was a red, if knee to head contact was made it could have been another Petr chek. Its just this rolling around holding your head stuff, seems to be returning to the game. Scottish refs arny very clever and are easily conned. These type of players need to be named and shamed.

04 Dec 2018 02:55:51
Yup the tackle was a red not arguing it . However all this other carry on does my nut and has officials questioning if a player is seriously injured which can't be good for the players or the game in general.

04 Dec 2018 08:38:11
What about boyata was his challenge on Sunday not a red card? The wee man was out cold for ages.

04 Dec 2018 08:48:32
While it is definitely a red card, in the heat of a game I totally understand why a player would make that challenge as he gets a split second to commit to it and probably saw the high possibility of the ball being spilled further. If it had been spilled we would all be complaining that it was not followed up.

It looks much worse than it actually was.

04 Dec 2018 10:43:00
You can’t make any case for that poor challenge it was completely unnecessary. Let’s be honest had Brown done that to McGregor everyone would be on here slaughtering him.

04 Dec 2018 12:00:42
tinman, you have got to be having a laugh eh? Boyata and GMS clash wasnt a foul in any sense of the word and to even mention it as a possible red beggers belief

2 guys going for a header and sadly the lad got wiped out.

04 Dec 2018 16:23:41
I see what your saying but he never won the ball and got the man anywhere else on the park it’s a free kick all day long.

04 Dec 2018 16:42:25
All day long it was a red card but but but what happens when a keeper comes charging out for a high ball and more often than not when he collides with an outfield player his knee is around chest or face area.
I get the fact keeper get extra protection but the keeper holds his face like he has been punched by AJ.

10 seconds later there is he haw wrong with him
The hearts manager has again conducted himself
with his usual low standards.
Be interesting to how big a fine/ ban he gets.

04 Dec 2018 23:13:21
jbf500, am pulling your leg man calm down lol.

03 Dec 2018 23:25:13
Lads if you have the slightest doubt about Steve Gerrard watch the programme Make Us Dream. This guy will never be second best he is a born winner.
The documentry was very emotional and shows the strength of this man is incredible
In SG we trust.

04 Dec 2018 05:53:48
William king, what is the link to watch the steven gerrard, "MAKE US DREAM" documentary mate?

04 Dec 2018 07:31:51
Thought the documentary was average to be honest.

04 Dec 2018 09:56:15
i agree about documentary being average, no doubt he's a born winner but i was looking for more of an insight off the pitch if that makes any sense.

06 Dec 2018 13:23:48
Netflix mate perhaps try YouTube.

06 Dec 2018 13:35:48
Never any doubt William.

06 Dec 2018 13:40:59
Fair point about the off the pitch comments but for me it highlights how strong a character he is and he has made it the hard way. No silver spoon with this kid he has scraped for everything he has achieved.
The best bit is his attitude and comments they are on the Money every time. No barking dogs and Caravans nonsense. Defends his players when needing to do so and no sugar coating it when it’s Craig White
Lest hope we beet Smeltic and let’s try and celebrate if we do win with a bit of dignity and class
The Rangers way, let others do there lap of honour and prance about hanging scarfs in our goal posts.
It speaks volumes for the mentality of them. Nay brains and Zero class.

03 Dec 2018 23:26:29
So, am I seeing this right?

To qualify we either need to win v Rapid Wien or draw and hope Villarreal can beat Spartak at home.

In the first instance, well. we'd be second in points so no problems there.

In the second instance our head to head with Rapid would put us above them and we'd also be ahead of them on Goal Difference (Can't remember if it's good or Head to Head that's calculated first)

Since Spartak are notoriously bad travellers, Villarreal are at home not to mention how we bossed the game against Rapid at Ibrox. I'd say we have a really damn good chance of getting through this group which is a massive step ahead of where we should be so soon after what's been effectively a rebuild job with a brand new manager.

I think most of us would have been ecstatic if at the start of the season we were told we would drop out at the group stages but to take it to the last game and have everything still in our own hands to qualify is a massive testament to what the board and Steven Gerrard has put together here in such a short time.

We should be proud of how far we've came so quickly, even if we don't manage to win the league this year we've really came so far.

Lets hope we keep it up against Hearts and get back to the top of the league where we belong.

04 Dec 2018 06:36:26
F-U Rapid have 6 points we only have 5

we must win.

04 Dec 2018 07:31:33
Only a win will do.

04 Dec 2018 10:44:47
Trev No 7

We have 6 points and both Villareal and Rapid have 7 only a win is good enough.

04 Dec 2018 16:56:45
Vilareal get beat and we draw are we not through on head to head due to 2-2 draw over there. Can't see them not winning tho tbf.

06 Dec 2018 13:35:40
Bucarest then go thru with Vienna.

03 Dec 2018 20:57:12
mebude knocks back a contract! as soon as we look like building a good team from the youth team we get bent over from bpl teams. we need to ensure the players like Mebude, Dallas, Kelly, Mcpake and Kennedy cannot and should not be allowed to leave Ibrox they are our future if they leave now and are a success we won't see these boys back at ibrox until their late 30s and their careers are winding down.

03 Dec 2018 21:09:44
Where did u see that about mebude?

03 Dec 2018 22:38:10
If he thinks he can do better elsewhere then adios! They would do that at Liverpool or other epl teams! But I would like him in particular to stay.

03 Dec 2018 23:40:17
To be fair guys, you don't know what deal was offered to him. It could be a terrible one and he justs wants more money which is fair.

04 Dec 2018 12:04:14
why worry? if kid doesn't want to be here then see ya! will dissapear into oblivion in english lower leagues like the rest that thought could do better than gers.

03 Dec 2018 18:17:37
Good 3 points yesterday and hopefully another 3 points on wednesday night aswell and hopefully motherwell do us a favour.

04 Dec 2018 16:37:33
Motherwell are due points off them mate.

03 Dec 2018 17:43:59
Barisic and Katic played for U21's against Kilmarnock today (as did Wallace) . Hope to see both in squad for Wednesday against the sheep with Barisic getting a place in starting 11.

03 Dec 2018 18:16:00
Yes 100% good to see. Was katic injuryed?

03 Dec 2018 18:38:25
Don’t believe so, taken off after 70 minutes as precaution in case required for squad against sheep.

04 Dec 2018 10:15:27
Halliday will start midweek.

03 Dec 2018 13:21:59
Cmon Celtic drop points on wed and we win then a gap opens up with us top of the League for the first time in 7 years.

03 Dec 2018 13:56:19
We need to just doing our job and if we can go into new year old firm still then the pressure is totally on them.

03 Dec 2018 17:38:04
3 down 16 to go :) . For those of you not psychic or can't be bothered reading my posts. I predicted we would get 19 points from a very tough 8 league games in December, while obviously hoping for 24. Hearts away was one of the tough ones.

03 Dec 2018 11:10:50
Where was that muppet Stewart on Sportscene yesterday evening? Probably being sick. Thompson wasn't quite as bad as usual though still seems to give grudging praise to Rangers. Interesting to see that I don't think one Hearts player protested about Morelos's goal.

03 Dec 2018 12:41:32
Michael Stewart is so bad and bias when commenting on rangers games that I would gladly sit and listen to Chris Sutton all day long.

03 Dec 2018 14:37:34
Michael Stewart has never got over being sent packing by rangers after 10 days training at Murray Park. Very ironic that Craig Levin, when he had Stewart on loan at Hearts and had to contribute £1 per week to Man U, said was worst £1 he has ever had to pay in football.

04 Dec 2018 09:07:54
It must be a timmy or Michael Stewart who is hitting the Disagree button.

04 Dec 2018 16:39:14
I'm saying we need 24.

03 Dec 2018 10:18:52
So Southampton have just sacked Mark Hughes, wonder if next manager has a bit of sense and plays Davis? Hate to lose out on a player of his calibre?

03 Dec 2018 08:50:44
Great result yesterday and what impresses me the most is the attitude and fighting spirit our team are showing.
Win, lose or draw, they are certainly up for a game and play as a team.

03 Dec 2018 08:22:47
Tav better be watching over his shoulder as Goldson looks like a real future Captain of rangers.

03 Dec 2018 13:57:21
I thought Tav was superb yesterday, the best I have seen him in months . His delivery into the box was on the money.

03 Dec 2018 08:16:45
We certainly dodged a bullet by not getting McInnes as our manager. The sheep are useless and always seem to lie down against them. Let's stuff them out of sight on Wednesday and press on. We've got Dundee and Hamilton after the sheep so let's see where we are if we win the next 3 games then its Hibs (twice) and the manky mob. Being top at Christmas would be very nice!

03 Dec 2018 11:33:48
At what point in a cup final due you think professional footballers lie down?

04 Dec 2018 16:32:40
Think your right that McInnes did not sign for us, but as much as I know the manks let the sheep get second on purpose last season, I doubt they would lie down in a cup final.

03 Dec 2018 07:40:22
So proud of the team there's a real steel about them that has been missing since the last Smith team. Unfortunately I think we will fall short this year but there's has definitely been a big improvement since Gerrard came in for a relatively small outlay. Gerrard has made mistakes during the season and will probably make a few more as he is learning his trade but he's got that character and confidence that you need to be a rangers manager that was seriously lacking in our last few mangers. We just need to get the monkey off our back and beat Celtic in the league then anything is possible.

03 Dec 2018 11:36:17
Can't disagree with any of that. Great post 36th UD.

02 Dec 2018 21:31:14
Not a rumour but would anyone else like to see lewis Ferguson at Rangers, the way he was getting fired into Scott Brown took me back to Barry.

03 Dec 2018 06:24:42
Lewis ferguson not good enough for rangers and that's my honest opinion mate.

03 Dec 2018 08:33:55
But jason holt is coop?

03 Dec 2018 10:31:34
Wouldn't say he is at our level yet. Not better than what we have got.

03 Dec 2018 12:25:13
But jason holt reminds him of Ian Durrant coldo.

03 Dec 2018 12:25:39
Is Lewis Ferguson any better than Greg Docherty? Not to me he isn't.

03 Dec 2018 16:22:00
I don't think lewis is what we need, I also think holt is not what we need. I just think its daft that someone would say that lewis is not good enough but in the same breathe compare holt to durrant. At least lewis has a bit of dig and bawz about him, how many times did holt put brown off the ball? 🙃👍.

03 Dec 2018 17:11:32
Lewis Ferguson has all the qualities to play for Rangers one day just like his father and uncle did. Question is why or who let Lewis go as we should have kept him and farmed him out until he was ready. Instead at some point we, ll have to negiotate with them Aberdeen to get him back. We are losing too many talented youngsters and something is not quite right with our Youth Policy.

03 Dec 2018 17:45:06
Its alright firing into brown anybody can do that. what's needed is somebody that can get the better of him.

04 Dec 2018 08:36:58
To get the better of brown, firing into him is a start👍. Something holt could never do👍.

04 Dec 2018 16:31:24
What age is Lewis? He is only a kid give him time and I am sure he will turn out to be a fine player
The interviews I’ve see with him as well he look a level headed boy.

02 Dec 2018 21:07:04
I didn't watch much of the league cup final today, but what I did see was young Lewis Ferguson showing that he has the type of attitude we need. I'd love to see him come to us to get his revenge over them. He has great potential, and could add to our squad for next season if we could do business with the sheep. He's too good for them in every way.

03 Dec 2018 13:12:08
"if we could do business with the sheep". That scuppers that then, there's no way they'll entertain us.

04 Dec 2018 16:31:31
Ferguson would not improve the team so no thanks.

02 Dec 2018 20:53:12
Just read a letter on the daily rebels Hotline for Monday apparently we are on top by default! Much like a few of Celtics titles! Nothing and I mean nothing would mean more to me than taking title this year
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🙏🙏🙏.

03 Dec 2018 07:30:05
I assume they mean the offside goal and conveniently forget about the goals disallowed that were inside and the rescinded red cards, as well as the red cards that should never have been? It just takes one half a hard offside split second to have them squealing. And probably no mention of the penalty that never was (apparently, as I was watching Arsenal v Spurs at the time and didn't watch any of their game)

03 Dec 2018 12:27:24
2 in a row for the them. Pen that never was in the semi as well.

04 Dec 2018 16:36:59
FB it's part of the game, we all get breaks. I'm really not interested in anyone else. It's all about Rangers.
