Does anyone think David Templeton has a future at the club?

Odds are he doesn't, but given the impact MW has had on all of our players, never say never.

Would love to see him given a few opportunities to come off the bench and see what he can do.

Would be like a new signing in March if he can return from injury and add something to our great squad.

03 Feb 2016 23:51:08
Defo worth a second chance, think his style of play would fit well into warbs system.

04 Feb 2016 00:16:36
He needs to be fully match fit and unfortunately time could be running out for him. He really does have my sympathy. Like others he was totally destroyed by McCoist and McDowall and we have seen considerable improvement in both Shiels and Law not to mention young players like McKay, so there is every hope for Templeton but I am concerned that time is not on his side.

04 Feb 2016 06:55:35
Don't think so came with so much promise, he's just taking a wage now. Like so many other players can't take a tackle which is a shame I liked him but never progressed with us!

04 Feb 2016 07:22:24
If we can get temps fully fit then undoubtedly the wee man has the natural talent to play for rangers, on the flip side we can't keep hold of a player who's injury prone which templeton has been thus far in his rangers career, imo I'd monitor very closely how he's coming back from surgery from his latest knee injury, he's a warburton type player there's no doubt about that, I was very happy when we signed temps from hearts almost 4 years ago now because I rated him a very good winger, an old tanner baw player if you like, I do think though he may be let go as his contract is up at the end of the season, I would give him a chance because a fit david templeton would excel under warbs!

04 Feb 2016 07:49:14
He hasn't earned it and so no, I can't see him being given a new contract. There are about four of McCoist's signings still left who fall into that category.

If/ when we get promoted I expect I fall into the same expectation level of the majority of fans and expect us to win the SPL next season. None of this top 3 stuff and to do that we need better players than those remaining from the legacy of the previous management's recruitment policy. Lee Wallace excepted of course.

04 Feb 2016 09:21:07
Heard he is looking to move abroad in the summer.

04 Feb 2016 09:44:41
He wasn't destroyed by mccoist when he could manage a run of games he looked for us, but injured far to often, wages could be spent on someone else.

04 Feb 2016 10:15:08
Fraser there's a high possibility we won't win the league at the first attempt but we will give it a go, I just hope fans don't turn on the board if we don't win it first year back.

04 Feb 2016 10:30:51
Delboy9, from what I saw last night in the Aberdeen V Celtic game there is every possibility that we will win the league next season provided that Warburton gets the four or five players he wants. I reckon that Celtic will struggle to win the league this season and having looked at their new January signings they will be lucky to finish some games with eleven players!

I just hope that I am right!

04 Feb 2016 10:33:53
Allan_6, Strange how he and so many others were injured so often during McCoist's reign as manager and the coaching and and everything else to do with those days was dire. I would like to see what he can do given we now have a quality coaching set up. If he can stay fit and show the qualities that he showed at Hearts then I will be happy. If not then yes, his wages could be better deployed elsewhere.

04 Feb 2016 11:34:11
There's no doubting Temps has talent, we could never resign him on the terms he's currently on though, would need to be done on a pay as you play deal. I do believe if he's fit he would fit in with the new playing philosophy very well, however, I can see him going.

04 Feb 2016 14:17:06
Too inconsistent and injury prone.

03 Feb 2016 22:15:59
What your thoughts on tav? Personally I think he is very good going forward but lacks defensive skills. He does make up for it with his goals but feel he could be caught out against better teams. Maybe even move him into a more further forward position next year?

04 Feb 2016 00:19:00
Both Tav and Wallace need to improve the defensive side of their game however going forward they are arguably the best attacking fullbacks in Scotland.

Personally I would be more worried about losing Tav in the summer than anything that opposition forwards might do to him. especially since we now have MOH at Rangers!

03 Feb 2016 20:50:51
It seems that Craig Gordon wasn't signed by us for the simple reason, he is single fish. Stand by for the SFA enquiry as even the Church is against Celtic tonight.

04 Feb 2016 00:20:45
I thought it was more a case of McCoist preferring the old pals that he brought on board!

03 Feb 2016 21:43:33
Lol, what a week for the great unwashed. Congratulations Mr. Deila on the top job you are doing.
All said, well Aberdeen.

03 Feb 2016 21:07:38
Mcginn great wee player for aberdeen ripping celtic to bits.

03 Feb 2016 21:25:11
He's a good wee player done well with Aberdeen.

03 Feb 2016 21:46:50
Deila must stay! !

03 Feb 2016 22:12:31
Who cares about the manky mob v the sheep I hate the both of them.

03 Feb 2016 22:31:46
To reflect the side under Delia, I hear that the new book on Celtic's season will only be published in the ebook format, i. e spineless.

03 Feb 2016 20:41:24
Funny how the gift that keeps giving does the rounds. First it was us every week/ month for a few year now it's ther turn for a wee shot of the giving cup. โœŠ๐Ÿ’ฆ Lol
Big effy ambrosia now Ronaldinho delia
Been a good week for a change as well as mr King ramming it hard against SD
Long may it continue.

03 Feb 2016 20:32:01
The manky mob are 2 doon. oh ronny see ya its a shame woulda liked for him to stay lol.

03 Feb 2016 20:50:34
Picking a winner of this game is like selecting an arm to be amputated, don't want any, the pitch is atrocious looks like it's been trimmed by Griffiths barber, and speaking of hair what's going on with Brooรฒnies head it's like a 4G plastic syrup.

04 Feb 2016 00:22:44
I will be delighted if Aberdeen sneaks the league this season, that would well and truly f up Celtic's 10 in a row!

03 Feb 2016 20:44:35
Word on the grapevine is. Ryan Giggs is the next manager of Celtic.

03 Feb 2016 21:19:26
Feel rotten for wee Deelia sittin in the dug out. A broken man!

03 Feb 2016 20:04:50
Had a wee read in the guardian newspaper reported some of the one sided commercial deals and what sanctions they have and clawses digging in to our money income
Pa this newspaper has been gunning for Ashley for years. Owner must be Geordie lol.

03 Feb 2016 22:47:06
It's a great article and really highlights Ashley's agenda with us for his remaining followers out there but I wonder who the source is and why Ashley hasn't taken the paper to court over it. Not the first time it's been printed and certainly far far more revealing than anything that the club could/ have ever disclose (d) .

03 Feb 2016 23:11:55
Late Result DK 4 MA 0. Been a good start to February. Is there a crisis down breezeblock boulevard?

03 Feb 2016 18:48:04
So saddend to hear on my way to work that the manky mob sacked ronnie dilia but then i heard it was rubbish and he still there. celebrated like hallidays goal last week lol. gota say ronnie been 1 of our best players this season like john barnes was and we not even in same league lol. ronnie or warburton. not even a contest. magic hats coming dilia an u all keeking it๐Ÿ˜….

03 Feb 2016 19:48:09
Dave 1980.think you should wait until warbs at least beats a premiership club before claiming bragging rights over a delia. maybe saturday as big jig is up against the hat. no better chance. only being a realist.

03 Feb 2016 20:30:58
Mate you still might be saddened if that scoreline stays the way it is ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
What a week this could turn out to be.

03 Feb 2016 20:51:27
the quality at Pittodrie is dire, I keep hearing we are not at their level, really?

03 Feb 2016 21:46:01
Johnny g. Realistic is we prob no win premiership first year back but as long as we beat them every opportunity. could aberdeen win title this year. from treble to double mmmmmm ok maybe hust scottish cup lol. mon the dandy dons.

04 Feb 2016 00:32:12
Johnny g., Rangers still have some way to go and we know that but we are playing some good football and Warburton does appear to know what he is doing. Tonight was the worst advert for Scottish Football that I have seen on the TV for quite some time with both teams resorting to the long ball and the ball control on show being pretty awful.

What is encouraging is that Celtic appear happy with Delia and are going backwards when really they should be building a team that can win the league at a canter.

Personally I find it difficult to understand why Scott Allan is not in the starting eleven since he does appear to have a better footballing brain than others that are ahead of him and I fear the new signing from Feyenoord will bring nothing but trouble to CFC; (although, in reality, that would make me very happy just like the results with Ross County and Aberdeen have brought great joy!

03 Feb 2016 21:43:40
I keep saying it. They are perhaps slightly better squad wise but there certainly is no gulf in class. No way, absolutely no way on this Earth!

03 Feb 2016 22:22:36
Davie1980 c'mon mate that's not a nice way to look at Mr Delia, , comments like such might cause the man to walk away and I for won don't want to see that this season, if that happened they would maybe get a real manager in and steal the league from Aberdeen. lol.

03 Feb 2016 17:57:44
I was wondering if displaying irony is a bookable offence in Scottish football. The too vigorous a handshake by Halliday with Waghorn after scoring could possibly have offended a couple of sensitive viewers in the stadium.

03 Feb 2016 18:24:02
Aye

it was definitely a masonic shake. I am offended!

signed
A Dhim.

03 Feb 2016 16:37:49
Is it true Ashley/ SD have packed in their attempt at bullying us?
Maybe this will make DK's budgeting etc easier . if true.

03 Feb 2016 16:32:04
Just been told SD have packed it in and have agreed to pay our costs

been told its on Sky; has anyone heard this?

03 Feb 2016 16:46:03
Yes it's true seems more to follow.

03 Feb 2016 18:20:36
Will Charlie's sphincter be wobbling now in light of Ashley's defeat?

03 Feb 2016 15:05:01
The way MW talks about Dom Ball makes it seem likely that he will make a permanent move for him at the conclusion of the season.

He does seem like the type of player who in a few of years with experience in Europe, at our club, and a lot of games under his belt could be worth over five million.

Think Spurs could get a buy back clause. Would be a great signing considering his age.

03 Feb 2016 14:54:43
Just To Clear Things Up. Does Anyone Actually Care That MOH Grew Up As A celtic Fan? There's A Video Going About Trying To Put Us Off Him. But I For One don't Care He Signed For Us End Off.

03 Feb 2016 15:41:44
Every Saint has a Past

Every Sinner has a Future.

03 Feb 2016 16:11:37
My reply would be as long as he gives his all that will do me, plus at least he never done a Scott Allan by trying to move to us then signed for them.

03 Feb 2016 16:15:06
Ill say something on your post WhatATeam anyone who has Rangers at heart says they wouldn't go nuts jumping about bad huging the man next to you even when you don't know him if he sticks one in the pokey against them is telling fibs.

03 Feb 2016 16:24:29
Who really cares what background you come from as long as your a good player. In reality how much does religion really figure into things now in a modern society anyway?

Cant think of any friends or associates that attend church these days. It makes no difference any longer and its only the mhedia that like to stir things up with headlines. just don't rise to it. We've probably had more catholic players since the late 90s than Celtic have had. Thing is its only pointed out to us as they like to cast Rangers as bigots and Celtic as righteous.

03 Feb 2016 16:30:02
Gives us a good couple of years and helps us win the title ahead of Celtic, I don't think any fan would care if he was the brother of Ronny Delia.

03 Feb 2016 17:13:47
Couldn't give a flying f*** who the guy supported growing up, if he is a professional (which he is) he will give 100% for Rangers just like Scott Allen will for Sellic! well if he should ever get a game that is!

03 Feb 2016 20:56:19
If he's got a Rangers jersey on he'll have my full support, like they all have and will always have. I only had concerns in a footballing sense, but that's why Warburton's the manager and I'm not. I wish the boy nothing but success.

03 Feb 2016 17:42:53
I hear he has the full backing of his family. He is a decent lad who will do his best for the club. This from friends of mine who come from Moodiesburn.

03 Feb 2016 14:38:48
Heard from a decent source that the next phase of rebuilding will be in Murray Park and in particular Ian Durrants position as coach of the under 20s, apparently the powers that be aren't overly impressed with the job he is doing and his days could be numbered, Neil Mccann is the man they want to take over. they're also ready to go on a recruitment drive to try and sign up the best young players in Scotland at the 15 to 16 age group, also looking at talented youngsters in the North of England, hoping that the prospect of first team football by the time they reach 18 could tempt them into signing for Rangers.

03 Feb 2016 15:43:06
Sounds like a plan to me, MW is the man, we trust in him and DK to build us up to be No1 again, in all depts.

03 Feb 2016 12:14:39
Chinese teams spending big time!

03 Feb 2016 14:06:59
Must have lots a cash then man!

03 Feb 2016 14:21:14
Well observed!

03 Feb 2016 15:45:25
considering they have a population of like 1 Bn it was only a matter of time. UK only has population of what 70m so they are going to eventually rival EPL one day, just like America, money money money!

03 Feb 2016 11:32:38
Does anyone think it would be good to set up a partnership with a team like ararcington stanley where we could send young lads on loan if we can't find spfl teams for them to play (and maybe sneek in a first pick on your players) . I think league two would be more competitive to play in than championship or lower leagues up here and would give players more time on the ball before getting closed down etc. Accrington may not be possible due to sour grapes but just an example.

03 Feb 2016 12:23:44
Camoo I like the idea although I'm sure with the connections our manager has within English football already it's maybe not necessary. He also stated recently that youth players that stay closer to home (on loan deals) have a better percentage of chance to make it for some reason.
The one good thing about sending them out in the lower league's up here is it toughens them up a bit. Look at Mckay. Instead of being pampered for 3 years at Murray Park he went out and grafted in the lower leagues and is looking great for it. Not many SPFL wingers his age can take a tackle but the wee man just gets up every time.
I'm really excited about our Youth setup though. With the boys that have been brought in added to the ones already there it's looking good. Hopefully we can wrap this league up early and we might get to see some of them in action before the seasons finished.

03 Feb 2016 14:49:22
It's a nice thought Cannoo but by putting on my Afcw hat for a minute I can tell you that's a pretty tough competitive leauge to pitch untested youngsters into - on the other hand look at the calibre of player we are getting from AS in the shape of Crooks and Windlass - I'd love to be able to throw some names, from AFCW's current squad who may be worthy of coming up north to our team but the set up and standard I would estimate to be of, a, similar level to lower 6 of the SPL and top 6 of the SPFL. - Most English Leauge sides in Div 1 and 2 have academies to competition is, fierce for top team places - Then you have to ask if youngsters down south would relish a, move up here - I really think it's, a great idea you put forward and I think it would form better partnerships than say teaming up with clubs, abroad, although we know that is for financial reasons - good post -.

03 Feb 2016 09:31:50
We lack an out-and-out goal grabber. Over 70% possession and only one goal. Surely Hardie can now be given his chance?

03 Feb 2016 09:41:58
Yes we do but I don't think MW will ever sign a poacher imo he's looking for goals from the passing style we now play. Almost thawed out from last night damn cold in KDY.
Anyone else think Zelalem keeps getting played to keep Tottenham sweet?

03 Feb 2016 10:29:53
Agree doiger we lack a finisher we need to start finishing teams off with chances we create.

03 Feb 2016 11:13:38
Zelalem is from Arsenal mate!

I think Zelalem is far better than he is given credit for. Granted he is really lightweight and his running with the ball needs work but his off the ball play is really clever, he is brilliant at finding/ creating space and is a constant out ball for us. Links everyone up well.

As for a finisher I agree. I said on a previous post that the 3 most important roles are Centre back, Def mif, and striker and I believe that these 3 positions have been left short this season intentionally so that we can get 3 players for the top division therefore a little better in quality.

03 Feb 2016 11:54:45
We wouldn't keep the ball as much if it wasn't for zelalem.

03 Feb 2016 12:21:35
I will go against the trend and say Zelalem is a luxury we can't afford in the championship. There is very little end product from his flicks and he has no goal threat, unfortunately we have no creative alternative.

03 Feb 2016 13:06:05
I think the boy is a very good player, bit lightweight and naive perhaps but will definitely be a star in the future. He is a brilliant link between front and back. Don't forget guys, he's only young and still learning.

03 Feb 2016 13:18:29
Have to remember he is very young- I was more interested in cider than football at his age. He's very talented but he's still learning the game.

03 Feb 2016 13:26:51
Your right true blue we have no creativity! We've only scored 65 goals so far this season! Lol.

03 Feb 2016 14:29:36
I've noticed Zelalems form dipped with the weather. He was superb at Ibrox early in season on the nice surface, but doesn't fancy your Cappielows for a freezin January midweek game. He's got all the tools just needs to shake off the pass, pass pass academy mindset instilled in him and express himself a bit, shoot more take on a man. That's why he's here, but we won't benefit long term.

03 Feb 2016 14:30:16
65 goals that's true but what is also true is we had 72% possession in the last two games and scored one goal in each.

03 Feb 2016 14:55:29
I thought we played well first half last night and must say I was impressed by Zelalem's energy in the midfield on a tight, bumpy pitch in freezing conditions. The lad is a good player and although he faded a bit as Raith came more into the game, I was heartened by his contribution. He certainly looks to be toughening up compared to when he joined. Felt a little sorry for Waggy. He was a bit unlucky in on goal twice when the goalie saved with his legs. A volley in the first half wasn't too far away either. I've heard some criticism of the guy due to the fact he hasn't scored for a couple of games but I'll say one thing about him. He never hides. He's always available. I think when wee Holt comes back Waggy just might find his shooting boots again. Coincidence?

03 Feb 2016 16:42:13
Bluepete, I think you may be right teams lend for their benefit not just ours -Ashley's loan a different thing but they want their players to have game time and be tested, if we don't we might not get any more. I know quite a few disagree but I like loan players coming in partic if the are not PO'd at being sent here.

03 Feb 2016 06:41:08
Hope Holt is fit for the Lillie game
Again plenty chance created but only one taken fortunately one was enough
Last night.

03 Feb 2016 11:55:38
If not I would try mckay in centre and play king wide, but then again am no football manager.

03 Feb 2016 12:25:16
Why would someone disagree with someone saying I hope Holt is fit for the next game. Pathetic.

03 Feb 2016 14:56:52
Wee green trolls recbob. My preciousssss!

03 Feb 2016 00:32:18
Good win tonight boys well done. Can't win them all in style. Night like tonight are where champions are made though. Good to see Halliday back and scoring, deserves it after they two decisions going against the boy. Well done!

03 Feb 2016 08:33:05
Now on this post I totally agree with you. These are the games that are crucial, to ensure automatic promotion.
I have just seen that there are only 13 league games to play, so every game we win will step up the pressure on hibs.
It is also great to keep a clean sheet, but hopefully we can up the goals tally, considering the chances we have.

03 Feb 2016 12:28:41
Billy how can you slate the work of the Board on one part of the site then come on here and say well done the teams looking good. The board built that team mate. I'm sorry but I just don't get that.

03 Feb 2016 14:33:02
I slated dm about his actions, but hardly missed a game, at Ibrox especially, in the 90's. Like then, I am still a bluenose and want us to win every game.
You also state elsewhere that "I hate Dave King" and that is not true either. I just don't agree with how he runs the company that operates as Rangers. That is called an OPINION, and is my interpretation of what a banter site is about.

03 Feb 2016 17:38:28
Well put billy.
