celtic fan in peace genuinely wondering why if Rangers need to rely on young players for the next couple of years why they didnt enter a team in the youth league this year? Surely to develop youth players they need to be playing competative games every week?

Believable13 Unbelievable23

With al due respect to your question sir. I think we are running withint a limited budget and a limited squad.

Agree18 Disagree10

Because the youth players are propping up the first team

Agree19 Disagree6

Op - dont you know we play in the sfl reserve league, given that we have 17, 18, 19. 20 year olds playing in the first team and reserve team i think that is enough development for them, but thanks for the concern

Agree9 Disagree7

Thanks for replies, was just wondering

Agree7 Disagree4

I think this is an area Rangers need to move quickly on as soon as the transfer embargo is lifted. A Youth team is a must especially for a club like Rangers.

Charles Green should be challenged on this area and soon. This is where the money can be...

Agree4 Disagree4

I think in all fairness the OP meant that wouldn't it help the Rangers youth players who aren't ready yet, to get more competitive football to gear them up for the first team. Then there would be more young players available (and ready) seeing as you will be very short if you get a load of injuries.

Was at the Annan Athletic v Rangers game yesterday and have to say Rangers are a very poor side in my opinion!

I am an Annan supporter so i suppose im biased but Rangers dont stand out against Division 3 opposition and a lot of the time it is the fitness levels towards the end of games which make the scorelines more flattering than they really are! having spoke to fans of other Division 3 teams most agree with this!

Did someone really post that McLoud and McKay are worth £1m each! You want to stay off the Christmas sauce! Like i say average for 70 mins the look good against knackered brickies and plumbers!!

Lets see how many bids are made in January! - i will tell you already - NONE! {The Ed039's Note - Good for you mate, you do realise that MacLeod was out ill yesterday and McKay didnt come on until the 86th minute so how can they have been average for 70 mins??)

Believable16 Unbelievable26

Its sports pundits putting a price on there heads not the fans.

Agree15 Disagree5

Were 17 points clear Its a work in progress for god sake do you honestly think were going to let an Annan fan tell us we have a poor side LOL in my opinion theres about only about 4 Teams in Scotland that could beat Rangers over 2 legs Celtic Inverness Queen of the South & Hibs.

Larky Bear {The Ed039's Note - I like how you got QOS in there lol)

Agree15 Disagree11

Cant deny great Form Ed credit where credits due Rangers done well to win 3-1 away at Annan with a changed squad hardly makes us a poor side were not playing attractive football but have a winning mentality again the game against Dundee Utd should give us a good idea of where were at as a team.

Surely being fitter is all part and parcel of being better. League table does not lie and were romping home. Sorry if that doesn't fit your agenda but hey ho off we go.

Agree16 Disagree11

@4 being fitter surely comes down to being a professional outfit in a part time league!

Agree12 Disagree4

@ 5. Not our problem if were pro and the others aren't. As we've said all along we are where we are good parts and bad. We can't change it just get on with it. And if that means were fitter then so is the case. And by the way if you really think temps, lee mac Alexander and Wallace are not better than all the other div 3 players then you know nothing of football.

Agree7 Disagree4

Dont know if youve noticed pal(annan) fan.but virtually had to start from scratch this season apart from few players we are a work in progress .ye were nothing great at moment but if were poor what does that make yous.

Agree9 Disagree6

Every team in the 3rd is poor and if the players where better they would be playing in a higher league ... imo the standard of juniors is a close match to the 3rd if not better a lot of players earn more money playing juniors than the 3rd and turn down moves to go pro top junior clubs are bigger than a lot of the bottom 3rd clubs

Agree8 Disagree4

Rangers team had cole, perry, hutton, crawford, little, hegarty, templeton, and mackay and
Faure came on as subs.
This was a very young team and the aim. was to come away with the 3pts.

Believable56 Unbelievable7

That is a true sign of respect. Well done the Liverpool.

Agree37 Disagree2

Didn't realise they had done that, and I've never read anything in the press about it. Well done the Liverpool fans if they did. I hope it gets a bit of press attention or even a note in the next home programme to highlight this as I think it's a gesture that deserves plenty of credit.

Agree12 Disagree2

Well done Liverpool fans and thank you, a great gesture

Agree13 Disagree2

That gesture won't be forgotten by me. Good luck to LFC this season!

Alright people,

Is it true Big Chris Boyd is back training with the Teddy Bears??

This guy should have never left....but he did and only to fill his pockets.....do we want him back?

Since he has left he has been a dud for all clubs, if he were too come back could he turn into the man he was before, {The Ed039's Note - Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller have been training at Auchenhowie in the MLS off season, there is no chance either of them returning)

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Maybe he can start to show sandaza were the goal is.

Agree8 Disagree6

Training at Murray Park Ed?
Bitter individual ! {The Ed039's Note - Not bitter, it just seems to be what it is being called now. If everyone wants to call it Murray Park, then so be it. But although not officially renamed, it is becoming widely known as Auchenhowie, thats all)

Agree2 Disagree6

Still murray park to me ed.bit like ibrox if it changed names still ibrox mate {The Ed039's Note - Fair doos mate, I personally dont have a problem with that the names TBH)

Agree3 Disagree8

Well when we were delivering pipework to it i called it auchenhowie , even when it was finally completed and our problems hadnt started i still called it auchenhowie same as present day , sounds a better scottish name to me doug t.s.o

Agree9 Disagree6

Lets see what happened with the banks and murray before we make our mind up
about names....hope it comes out what happened and think there maybe a change of heart with Murray park...les

Agree4 Disagree4

Has Charles Green who always keeps his promises forgotten the one made to change the name when he was desperately trying to sell season tickets?

Agree7 Disagree6

There's actually a consumer law protecting us here. He clearly stated on TV a few times (so cannot deny it or say press misquoted him) that we had three options for the new name. He even wheeled out the two girls who came up with idea. He sold season tickets on that assurance and must contractually do it. If he doesn't do it he missold ST.

Agree2 Disagree2

Good luck with @7 GC has made a lot of promises that he shd be held accountable for and I think renaming MP is the least gers fans shd be worried bout....but at least people are starting to question his motives

How you all doing guys. Happy new year. Iv been reading these pages for about a year and a half now without really posting. I was having a good think about the youngsters we have coming through n how they would do in the spl. In my opinion they would be more than adequate(backed up by experience). This led me to think why these boys haven't been given a chance before. I know with the players we had last season they couldn't all be regulars but why couldn't have two three or four made at least a few starts n sum appearances from the bench. At times before it was the same boring repetitive team for weeks on end without any change no matter how bad they were playing. Why weren't they given a chance?

Wen I came on to post I had a read first and noticed the comments about McKay n mcloeds value. Rangers would be mad to accept any bid for any of McKay McLeod Crawford or aird. These boys have done absolutely brilliant in the games the have played. These boys didn't have a clue wot was happening with their careers last season and have stepped up amazingly. There true value won't be known for a few years but if rangers had to accept bids it would have to be at least a million each.

These boys are only 17 and 18, and might be playin against lesser opposition but after a shaky start(expected) they r cruising(and will only get much better). They have taken on the responsibility and the pressure of being a rangers player in the most difficult time in the clubs history, and handled it a lot better than most players their age.

Well done boys!!

Lee

Believable16 Unbelievable7

Very hard to blood youngsters in recent season with the pressure of winning every game. You play a youngster or two and lose then your head is on the line. No win situation for old firm managers. {The Ed039's Note - Its been like that for a long time, Graeme Souness era was when alot of youngsters stopped making the top team on a regular basis, I am sure Doug t.s.o. can tell us of the times when young upstarts were breaking into the first team and scoring in cup finals as 16 year olds lol)

Agree4 Disagree2

Lee i dont know how the f@@k you managed to read these pages for a year and a half and not respond to the constant barrage that we had to endure, but welcome all the same.
I would be surprised if there are any bids for the youngsters at this time as any bids would have to come from down south and although some have shown promise, none of them have proven themselves at a higher level - Yet
