Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

03 Jan 2017 22:37:58
Surely it is time to be realistic about where we are as a club.
There are many optimistic posts that see DK as a Messiah. They are trying to justify all his comments and actions. Fine, but I would ask one question and that is, what are his plans for the immediate need for input of cash, to see the season out? Not to buy players but just to meet our fixture commitments.

03 Jan 2017 22:59:05
it will be more soft loans from the rangers men on the board
David king promised transparency to the fans but has clearly not been very transparent so far maybe if he would come out with a clear direction of what we are going get to do to raise funds for transfers ect and stuck to it and carried it out then we mine start believing in him again so far there is no clear direction or plan in place and for me the money we do have Warburton is not the man to spend it i think king wanted the fans to pay there way once again with a share issue but that never got voted threw so has left us in limbo again.

03 Jan 2017 23:13:08
Dave King is skint and apparently the board members are not keen to give any more soft loans as they cannot be transferred into shares. King is getting desperate and apparently approached Brian Kennedy for investment which he turned down. Not sure where the money is going to come from to see out the season.

04 Jan 2017 00:19:54
Gor i take it you have a seat on the board to know all this at the shareholders meeting the board including King said more money would be put in for Jan transfer window and to keep club going through the season Craigs you are half right they do want a share issue but didn't want to have to offer certain shareholders more shares which would have weakened those shareholders stranglehold on our club I don't have to name them surely but they can have a share issue anytime but all shareholders would need to be offered shares I have shares and sat through the meeting without this board our club would be in some state we are living off soft loans as we run at a loss until all the rubbish going on behind the scenes is sorted we will struggle there isn't going to be some sugar daddy waiting in the wings over £20 mill has been punted in already by this board we just need to accept where we are and get on with it.

04 Jan 2017 09:22:56
Think about it, we have never sought a "sugar daddy", as we continually prove that we are prepared to back our club.
Money was lost by many due to the liquidation of the company "owned" by whyte. Money was lost by many in the Green term. Shares lost value due to DK's orchestrated season ticket ban. So it is pretty clear that investors will be wary of parting with their cash, and that includes many of our fans.
There has been absolutely no plan tabled to take us forward and that is why I see us as rudderless. What we have is a club that is a poor investment, at present, and unless some action is taken by the board the outcome is very rocky.

04 Jan 2017 10:34:51
Billy b you say we are continually prepared to back our club I take it you mean the supporters well we have nearly full house every home game but the club still runs at a loss we have no credit stream we have no income from kit sales ETC we are fighting through the courts to try and change that it's millions in court costs you say King's orchestrated season ticket ban it was one of the min reasons the old board was ousted they had no money are you saying we should have bought season tickets and kept the old board they are the reason we are in this state they divided our club up between them look at the contracts that were handed out to their pals we are still paying the price so all in all the fans do pay their way every home game but it's not enough to keep the lights on so we depend on the board who have put in just over £20mill and more will be needed but until we get these horrendous contracts sorted out and we have an income from kit sales a bank credit stream I'm afraid this board is all we have without them we are in trouble.

04 Jan 2017 11:07:03
Disagree billyb, it was clear at Nov AGM that we wanted fresh share issue, did not want the charlatans involved, and the motion did not receive sufficient support (thanks to Ally McCoist I recall) . Additional soft loans will be provided as required, and hopefully the shareholders will do the right thing at this years AGM to facilitate a share issue. Too many legal issues currently pending for anything dramatic capital structure wise to happen in the short term. Think DK made this clear. Certainly don't believe we are rudderless. Despite the SJ and Celtic results we are also competitive and on course to qualify for Europe.

04 Jan 2017 11:09:53
Billy B I sense your continued frustration and lack of faith in DK but have to question your continuous criticsm of him.

You say that we don't seek a Sugar Daddy but many continually criticise DK for not investing money (apparent £30m) . Evidence suggests that all clubs need a benefactor (if only initially as with Celtic) to get a club stable until a self sufficient business model can be established. I reckon that DK is currently down £30-35m on his dealings with Rangers over the years with no realistic current opportunity for recovery of his investments. The fans now expect him to invest a further £30m without security or the guarantee of exchange for equity in a situation which is constrained by legal process and the SD stranglehold on our commercial viability

I would also suggest that the share price depression is more to do with the previous management of the club (Green and Sommers) and the fact that the club cannot realistically grow with any pace until the SD handcuffs are removed.

You say that no plan has been tabled to improve the clubs situation when the truth as I see it is that the last 2 AGM's have tabled the option to free up investment opportunity to people genuinely interested in improving Rangers but this has not been supported which has stagnated the club for 18 months. He has been fairly transparent with this plan.

You refer to action being taken by the board. What action other than the legal process that they are currently having to follow would you have the board take. Clearly I support the current board but would be open minded enough to consider evidence if you have it that DK and the 3 bears have an agenda which is anything other than for the staged return of Rangers to success.

I would agree that it is not ideal to have a benefactor figure in control of our club but the current realistic options are the fans invest directly in large numbers through increased season ticket or other vehicle as we have no access to the lucrative sky payments as in the EPL. As a a season ticket holder I would pay double the season ticket price every 2 years to finance the fans expectations but comment on this forum continually show that fans would not support this type of option

This currently leaves us with no option but to support the snail like progress being offered by DK and the 3 bears.

04 Jan 2017 11:57:01
Has anyone explained why garner was at a NHS hospital, has the players not been insured?

04 Jan 2017 12:27:17
He was at an NHS hospital because of the type of injury. Waste of time going to rosshall as they would have sent him their anyway.

04 Jan 2017 12:34:18
Are you suggesting something wrong with NHS? Last time I checked the best consultants including those working privately were based at NHS hispitals.

04 Jan 2017 12:56:33
You telling me you want your top signing sitting in a NHS waiting room, and you are kidding yourself on that a private hospital can't deal with that injury. I'm pointing out that your club is in that much trouble they can't pay for private medical care for their prized assets. I'm also not slagging the NHS it's a great service.

04 Jan 2017 13:01:41
MOLS well said obviously a better educated man or lady than me you put it into words far better than I could thanks.

04 Jan 2017 13:14:15
For all those that disagree with my thoughts, time will tell, but I totally agree with Gor's summary. We have little cash, it looks like there will be no more soft loans. Certain individuals, when approached, are refusing to assist.
Just remember, it was DK that made various, ridiculous statements about funding, starting with the family pension fund. Anyone with any savvy knows that no trustee would invest any money from a pension fund, unless it guaranteed a return.
I note reference to the three bears, above, and my only comment on them is that they, more than anyone, have taken the reponsibility of short term funding. Nothing but respect for these gentlemen.

04 Jan 2017 14:07:23
Billy B all due to respect yours and Gor's opinion on the suspension of soft loans as the ongoing finance option which DK has publicly confirmed will be the main source of finance in the future but where is your proof that they are going to be withdrawn.

If proven to be true then the board and DK in particular really does have a credibility problem

Can you provide the evidence to those of us who are less well informed.

04 Jan 2017 14:42:54
Time will show it to be true, MOLS.

04 Jan 2017 15:38:13
let's see billyb, certainly there are issues to be worked through and that is currently taking place as directed by the board. I can assure you I for one don't see DK as the messiah. I do believe however that he and this board have the club's best interest at heart. Now more than ever this is a time to stand behind and support all aspects of the club on and off the park.

04 Jan 2017 16:09:05
Fd well said and could not agree more. We will have as many downs as we do ups along the way and the return to strength of Rangers will not be quick.

04 Jan 2017 18:54:08
I hope you prove me wrong, lads, so I will shut up for a while.

04 Jan 2017 21:51:46
Those that back DK - are ignoring reality and fitting excuses to fuel the delusion. Simple as.

DK has done as much to harm the club as help it.

Picking a fight with Ashley before he even took charge has done unprecedented damage to the club both on and off the park and has guaranteed the club is an unattractive investment to anyone who isn't a diehard fan.

If he had only kept quiet and tried to make a deal before declaring war.

04 Jan 2017 23:38:29
Luigi.
As Billy b suggests only time will tell if the boards previous and current actions will prove to be the correct ones. I don't see that DK could have gone any other way than he has as many attempts were made by DK to make alliances with MA and sports direct during the change of regime which MA deliberately trashed

It is entirely possible that I am choosing to see this a particular way but based upon what I have read over the years I choose to back DK until there is irrefutable proof that DK and the board have mislead the support.

03 Jan 2017 22:16:57
Injured Rangers striker Joe Garner could be sidelined for up to three months after dislocating his shoulder during the Old Firm derby defeat at Ibrox on Hogmanay.

First day back in the office today and I've only just seen this news?

That's not ideal, I know he wasn't really contributing with bags of goals but he worked hard.

03 Jan 2017 23:51:33
Now that garner is injured it's time for dodoo to stake a claim I feel if the boy got a decent 5-6 games he could do well imo.

04 Jan 2017 00:57:21
Its got to be a run for dodoo if its waghorn il blow up!

04 Jan 2017 08:07:49
Dodoo is the biggest Donald Trumpbag I've ever seen, he's even worse than mckay he actually runs away from tackles.

04 Jan 2017 08:32:10
Cee, I think it is a bit rough to make these comments about McKay. He has ability and has shown it in games. He just needs to be more consistent. As for Dodoo we will only know what potential he has if he is given a run of games. Right now that is only one of our problems. At a time when Celtic are going out and spending £2.5m on a 21 year old from a Russian Club, we are looking at loan deals and don't appear capable of looking for players outside of Scotland and the lower English Leagues. The more things change at Ibrox, the more they stay the same unfortunately!
The parallels with Warburton and LeGuen are very similar in many respects!

04 Jan 2017 12:22:28
Hes 19 the bhoy tom not 21.

04 Jan 2017 12:28:21
I think barrie mckay is our best player by far, and the only player in our squad who would command a decent fee but at the end of the day he is a fairy and shys out of so many tackles.

04 Jan 2017 15:36:54
Cee I hear what you say and agree which Is why I 'tongue in cheek' suggested a few weeks back that he should be given some coaching by Willie Johnston.
Unfortunately the vast majority of our players are poor in the tackle and don't seem to want to get involved with most of the tackling by our midfield and defence pathetic at best!
Perhaps this is down to the philosophy of our manager and his assistant but if it is then it certainly won't work in the Scottish game!

03 Jan 2017 22:02:13
Sutton is an idiot end of.

03 Jan 2017 22:42:19
you mean mutton.

04 Jan 2017 10:57:14
hes not said anything that your idol DJ hasn't spouted for 15 yrs, seems like you are spitting your dummy over everything these days, thought you didn't care that no one likes you?

04 Jan 2017 11:56:06
BhoyWonder, my problem with Sutton (apart from the fact that I've never liked him but at least I'm honest about it! ) is that he is a media pundit who tries to pretend he is objective and is only"telling the truth" whereas we all know (and I include you and your fellow supporters in the "we") that he is nothing of the kind. In any game, competition, league title race he will always favour your team over ours even when Deila was in charge and you'd be upset if he was otherwise, wouldn't you? In that he's no different from Hartson, MacLeod, Walker, Provan, Bonner, Mcdonald and any other pundit unless they played for us, managed us or supported us on the quiet. I'm not saying big DJ is any less biased towards us than Sutton is to you but I would have more respect for him if he'd openly admit he doesn't like us.

04 Jan 2017 13:00:39
he has said he hates you liverpool, and he slated celtic for two yrs when we were piss poor, so kinda disagree with you there bud, DJ has never said a bad word about rangers but plenty worse than sutton has said regarding celtic,

04 Jan 2017 15:21:48
If he has said in the past that he hates us he's changed his tune now apparently as in answer to Rangers fans having a go at him when he urged your club to take this chance to"destroy" us he said on Twitter that he doesn't"hate Rangers" but he is only suggesting your club do to us what we did to you for most of the 90's and as we're on the receiving end now we don't like it. Well according to his own words you're wrong, Bhoywonder (I don't think you are, by the way) and in relation to spitting our dummies out, well further to Sutton's justification did you have a lot of fun being a Celtic fan for most of the 90's or are too young to remember them?

04 Jan 2017 15:34:52
dj never accused anybody of cheating, mutton did.

03 Jan 2017 20:46:26
Ron59 my thoughts exactly it's horrible the now but it will swing back always does. once/ if we get rossiter fit a think he is the man to put a bit of bite back in midfield, boy loves a challenge (as long as it doesn't injure him though😂😂)

03 Jan 2017 21:53:50
We need many more than Rossiter back to improve upon things.

03 Jan 2017 23:07:51
Rossiter will hopefully be back soon but its defence that needs sorted which was the difference against them sort the defense in January and we have a chance to finish second then challenge next season.

04 Jan 2017 00:00:38
Davie weir says that rob keirnan is good enough to play in epl. He must be some player in training cause I don't see it on matchday.

04 Jan 2017 08:08:39
He's made a few mistakes but he's just the whipping boy, it's not his fault we have only scored like 28 goals this season. Very poor in front of goal.

04 Jan 2017 08:35:26
No point in young Rossiter coming back, Halliday will just start an argument with him and the manager will side with Halliday. He is a total waste of a jersey, saw his position at risk when Barton arrived and the rest is History.
Unless there is fundamental change at the Club we will be in Celtic's shadow for many years to come and that for me is unacceptable!

04 Jan 2017 08:56:23
spot on tomusa.

04 Jan 2017 09:17:32
TOMUSA

2 things need to happen if we are to overhaul Celtic

1. A change of manager
2. Massive investment in the team

Unfortunately neither of that will happen anytime soon.

03 Jan 2017 18:39:28
Walter Smith spent around £15million to catch up with Celtic after PLG left. If you were handed that size of kitty now, who would you bring in?

Meekings, Landsbury, Hayes, Boyce and someone like Lewis Dunk would be on my list.

03 Jan 2017 19:00:10
Spoc. I'm ever so glad you're no the manger! That's £15 million well spunked! 😂😂.

03 Jan 2017 19:03:28
Don't think they players would be good enough to catch up with them.

03 Jan 2017 19:38:18
If only lol i'd go for lansbury lure of a decent signing on fee and a bumper pay packet if we made champions league! To compliment him i'd have another crack for aaron mooy looks a cracker but still not sure he will break into man city side! Another guy we were linked with adam armstrong still think he would score bucket loads up here! To shore us up at the back crisotphe berra he would hit the ground running knows the league and ia a stand out in very good league every week! We need new fullbacks martin olson in at left back and jon flanagan for righ back!

wes
Flanagan berra wilson olson
rossiter
mckay lansbury mooy niko
armstrong

Gilks hodson wallace bates keirnan crooks burt miller dodoo windass garner

Anyone I've not mentioned offloaded.

03 Jan 2017 19:48:55
Smith dian't get all his signings right but he did get most of them right! Whether Warburton would or not no one knows! In any event it is all irrelevant since we won't ever see King commit those sort of funds!

03 Jan 2017 19:50:07
You better make it £20mill csuse Celtic have just spent another £3mill on Kouassi Eboue from Krasnodar in Russian prem.

03 Jan 2017 20:45:45
Pity Johnny that's another 3 million spanked just like pukki and dirk sicknote.

03 Jan 2017 20:52:10
Yet we still are miles ahead financialy than your excuse of a club. After spanking the money on players you stated . We can't compete with the mighty rangers signings recently.

03 Jan 2017 21:05:40
Cee

I don't think we are in a a position to criticise any teams signings not with the amount of duds Warburton has signed.

03 Jan 2017 21:16:10
Daft cee slagging the champions signings! U'll never learn will u! Hahaha! You could only dream of spending 3 million on a promising youngster pal! If Brendan thinks boys a player then that's good enough for us 😉.

03 Jan 2017 22:30:16
Cee. What does it matter. Celtic are 19 points clear. Rangers can't afford any signings this window or next window. Onve you have paid back the £11 mill you owe to shareholders loans then maybe you can find £1 mill to buy some english division 1 player. But all in all one of your better comments. Well done.

04 Jan 2017 08:09:26
Thanks Johnny mac, appreciate it.

04 Jan 2017 08:54:25
Celticeob have a look closer to home when you use the term excuse of a club. Your club has been full of excuses for years pal.

04 Jan 2017 08:56:31
Lh you talk more nonsense than any Celtic fans alive. This is Brenda Rodgers the man who thought ousmane assaidi was a footballer hahaha.

04 Jan 2017 09:15:41
Cee, do you want me to start on Warbos signings, away back to the playground wee man. And what's with the "hahahahas", as iv said to others on here, you lot don't have much to laugh about.

03 Jan 2017 17:19:59
Why is king getting slated so much on here he's running the club best way he can trying to build a good squad invest in youth and steady the clubs off field issues aswel all this takes time he's cleaning up years of mess from previous boards as fans we all say spend this and that but as a business man he's running it properly we are rebuilding a team from scratch look at allys first season and the players we had left i for one am happy from where we were in 2012 to now.

03 Jan 2017 17:51:25
Best post on hear for a while, well said sir.

03 Jan 2017 17:54:12
He made certain claims about bankrolling us to challenge celtic and he hasn't fulfilled those promises in fact he denied saying it even though it was on tv interview. I accept the club's in a better position now but he shouldn't make bold claims about 30 million and ripping up ashleys contract. I still support king and the board but cut out the bold claims.

03 Jan 2017 18:33:02
My problem with King is not so much with what he's doing or has done but with what he said he would do and has not done. I'd have had no problem if he'd said we don't have loads of money but what we have we will manage prudently so it will probably take quite a few years to catch the other lot but that's not what he said, at least initially, is it? He raised expectations in the fans which were unrealistic and maybe for good reasons, who knows, but shows little sign that he will ever fulfill them. Consequently it is hard to believe what he says. As they say actions speak louder than words.

03 Jan 2017 18:56:47
I also believe that king thought he'd be able to get out off the sports direct deal. The loss of income from merchandising has greatly affected our ability to compete in the transfer market. That's why we have to shop about in the bargain basement. Until we can find a fresh income stream this is it. Any fan that thinks we should wildly be throwing money about is sadly out of their tiny little mind.

03 Jan 2017 19:18:42
A know he said he would spend 30 million but it could be it was more of a finiancial mess than he expected when he got control and had a good look at the books we had to invest in a lot more than just players we needed a scouting system even staff for the training ground and stadium was required don't think some fans realise how much of a mess the club was in prob a lot of spending behind the scenes we don't notice or know about to me a lot of panick has appeared because of saturdays result.

03 Jan 2017 19:23:37
those bold comments he made were to sell season tickets simple as that, dave king made us all believe we would challenge celtic, now if Aberdeen win they're game in hand there second, think we will struggle to get second spot.

03 Jan 2017 19:39:16
Charles Green said he would only leave when he heard the champions league music being played, Craig Whyte well let's be honest the guy is a fantasist. David Murray said he would only sell the club to someone that could take us forward (Craig Whyte)

Dave KIng picked up a football club on life support, the football ground had been neglected, anything that could be sold had been sold even the few Arsenal shares that were gifted to the football club, contracts were signed which harmed any prospect of a recovery. That is what Dave king is working with a basket case, the thing that he needs is time he cannot sort out all our ills in 12 months. don't be disheartened by all the talk about Celtic and how far ahead they are especially by Sutton and Hartson, Rodgers will move back to the premiership at the first opportunity players will leave, they will sign others that will flop. Football good times can quickly turn ugly and vice versa. It;s a tough gig at the moment but we must keep the faith.

03 Jan 2017 20:01:08
King made a rod for his own back with the statements he made during his battle to gain control of the club. Whether this was just his style or whether it was to get the fans onside is open to debate but making rash statements about tearing up Sports Direct Contracts and investing £30m., (then denying the latter despite it being stated on Television) .

With the team now well behind Celtic and not looking close to competing for the league for the foreseeable future the fans rightly expect to see quality new recruits but unfortunately many of us would find it difficult to believe any PR coming out of the club where King is concerned.

We might not have been any better off player wise had Souness and Kennedy gained control but at least we would not have been led down the garden path with unfulfilled promises! I also have to believe that Kennedy would have been more diplomatic in his dealings with Sports Direct that might actually have led to a better deal. As it is, King and Ashley appear to now be in a personal vendetta where the team and consequently the support are the ones losing out!

03 Jan 2017 20:30:53
Scott, King promised investment and to date, the club is surviving on soft loans from people who will, at some point, want their money back. King has invested?
Its alright stating that he is trying to run the club in a true businesslike manner and that is great but before he was given power he made a lot of promises about how much he had sitting waiting and none of that has appeared.
Massive investment is required in every part of the club from players to stadium upgrade.

03 Jan 2017 21:20:29
when King said £30 mil needed to be spent did he mean on the team alone? I am a shareholder and this came up at the shareholders meeting at this point the board has put in just over £20 mill with more about to be spent this month our club runs at a loss the board and I include King in that keep us afloat we have no income from kit sales (though I still saw fans in the shop at old firm game mind blowing) behind the scenes the club is a mess and it is costing millions to try and sort it out the old board divided our club amongst their mates Ashley's contract are a disgrace so when the £30 mill was mentioned it wasn't just on players but once they got in looked at the mess I think they should have said £60 mill to catch Celtic so we are where we are until the off field situation changes we will struggle financially but for me the right men are in the boardroom Rome wasn't built in a day.

04 jan 2017 11:05:10
thinkaboutit, i'm also a shareholder as well as a season ticket holder of around 42 years now. what's your understanding of what is going to happen regarding dk and his continual fight against sports direct and puma, in this dragging down kit deal? i've been told and i honestly can't say by whom, that dk and our board of directors are exploring the possibility of making our own kit short term, until our kit deal runs out with puma next season (2017/ 2018).

its safe to say one way or another that puma won't be manufacturing our kit after this season! was told also that under armour will become our new kit manufacturers once the club has cleared the way as to the legalities with puma. we will also have a new shirt sponsor after this season as our 3 year deal with 32red is up at the end of the season. i've heard our new shirt sponsor will be red bull.

have you heard anything like this thinkaboutit? look forward to hearing what you've heard or know regarding this mate! this can't go on and has to come to a head before this season finishes!

03 Jan 2017 14:55:40
One more point. What a performance from Wes "Billy the Fish " Foderingham. Will not be forgotten!

03 Jan 2017 17:33:00
what you on about some posts are turning out to be riddles.

03 Jan 2017 20:19:51
I feel sorry for King and warburton and present board they get slated all the time for not investing and not been good management where the hell would we be if King never came back nobody else was interested mr green or white would have sold Ibrox to Ashley and we would be seeing Ibrox as the biggest sports direct shop in uk or we would still be in championship as feeder club for Newcastle apprentices and ally in charge as he supported green and whites take over its our first season back I was happy to be in top six so great as we are in top four just now be thankful we still have rangers.

04 Jan 2017 08:46:01
Hugh, I have no sympathy for King although I do have some for Warburton. King trumpeted off on the investment he would make, the transfer fund that would be available etc., and none of it has materialised. Perhaps he should have kept his mouth shut.
As for alternatives I seem to recall that Souness and Kennedy were close to securing the Club and with them in control we might well be seeing a better set of results.
They most likely wouldn't have given the bull to the fans that King has spouted and as I have said before I have to believe that an agreement could have been reached with Sports Direct through sensible negotiation rather than by adopting the stance that King has taken which was all about keeping the fans onside rather than resolving the issue.
In many respects, if Souness and Kennedy are still interested then it might be better for King to stand aside and let them take the Club forward since personally I do not believe that King has the wherewithal to do this!

03 Jan 2017 14:47:45
Not going to comment on the recent game with Celtic. However, I would like to raise a few points .

Celtic looked fitter, stronger, more tactically astute and cohesive than us. T

hats not down to budget- that's down to leadership, management, training programmes and fitness strategy. Its not only been in the Celtic game our players look cream crackered after 70 mins.

If I was Warburton I would walk into next board room and play a video of the Celtic fans jumping up and down in celebration, and simply say -do you want Rangers to be great again - if the answer is yes - then get your cheque book out lads.

Mourinho, Wenger or Conte could not do much better with the squad we have - So its time to back Warbs or don't be surprised if he heads back South . very soon.

03 Jan 2017 15:06:09
Thought you weren't going to comment on it?

But all the money in the world won't fix fitness issues! It would be more like it if he was dragged in and told to get players like waghorn off the fish suppers and get them putting it in at training every week! Still think its criminal that we are not fit.

03 Jan 2017 17:24:32
Must admit the fitness issue worries me too nic861.When waghorn was through on goal in second half he looked like he was pulling a tractor and Halliday looks knackered with 20mins to go in matches.

03 Jan 2017 17:47:42
Lol, Carslberg don't comment on the Celtic game but if they did they would be your comments Barcabear.

03 Jan 2017 20:02:51
Not all of the players look unfit but certainly Halliday and Waghorn appear to struggle, but then neither should be in the first eleven!

03 Jan 2017 22:41:49
If it's not down to budget, then why ask the board room to get the cheque book out? 😂😂😂.

03 Jan 2017 11:31:22
With the injuries we have surely now is the time to bring Burt and Hardie into the first-team squad. The league title has gone now anyway so why not give them a chance, plus any new signings we might make this month? Rossiter would be like a new signing if and when he returns.

03 Jan 2017 11:58:45
Difficult one as we need to get second. I would go down that route though, should have happened four years ago. You know how fickle a lot of our fans are though, they'd be calling for MW's head if results went against us.

03 Jan 2017 12:14:29
We have sent hardie back out on loan already, pretty sure it was to raith rovers.

03 Jan 2017 14:35:06
With really young players (remember we already have a comparatively young squad) the trick is to do it one player at a time, put them in and leave them in for five or six games and allow them to come up to first team standard and pace. I think we have two boys we could do this with, Burt and Thompson, starting with Burt who is just about ready for this. But with Warburton's unrelenting rotation policy (unless you're one of the undroppables) this won't happen soon and when these boys have had enough and leave, we will have failed them just as much as we did others in the past. Nobody will ever convince me that Holt and Halliday are better options than the potential of Burt.

03 Jan 2017 15:06:23
It's time to drop halliday, he's been shocking for a while now,
It's all fine and well him being a supporter who got brought up on Copeland road, kissing the jersey.
We need more than that.
He's a player who thinks he is way better than he really is.
Also Tav. Also been a joke this season. I think he found his level in the championship last year.

Can anyone tell me what job Davie Weir is doing?
If it's coaching defending then he should be held responsible for the shambles that is our defence.

03 Jan 2017 15:07:45
It would also help if we had a core of top quality players for the youths to play alongside. We just don't have the quality, i'm afraid.

03 Jan 2017 15:39:15
Burt's a good shout for a chance to prove if he's ready to step up but for me the jury's out on Hardie. He's on the bench for Raith and that's not a good sign he'd be good enough for us right now, if at all. Rossiter's a mystery and you're right about if and when and it seems more if than when.

03 Jan 2017 15:43:14
I see yesterday that Everton manger put a couple youngsters in the team in there midfield this is type of message Warburton needs to send out to our midfielders and drop them for a few games and give the younger players a chance cause they can not do much worse.

03 Jan 2017 17:00:22
Listen if Warbs and Weir thought they were ready they would be in the squad and not out on loan and whilst I'd love to see young lads coming through from our youth system it's time to drop this because we need to focus on 2nd place and strengthening. I think these boys should get a chance but the time isn't now we need quality and experience to help us get over that line.

03 Jan 2017 20:04:09
If we don't have a decent quality youngsters that could do a better job than Halliday then we really do have problems! We could probably pick up a better player in English Non League football!

03 Jan 2017 21:55:24
Ger88 I believe that replacing Halliday with Burt WOULD be strengthening. There's little risk in this as Halliday is a man short. If we have the talent, if we believe in what we are doing, then the time is certainly right to make at least this one change.

04 Jan 2017 17:02:10
Hear, hear! Well said Mr. K!

03 Jan 2017 10:17:33
We are where we are at present and been extremely unlucky in transfer market. We all know that King has no decent cash to invest so we need to hope we get lucky with cheaper recruits and loans or hope someone invests in Rangers heavily in future. I agree there is players out there we can get on cheap who is better than what we have.

04 Jan 2017 10:43:18
You're right wizards11!There is better out there that we could sign without breaking the bank! There's an ex hearts striker who's possibly going to be leaving his chinese club, osman sow. I think we should seriously consider signing him! I really liked him when he was at hearts, i'd have him at rangers in a minute! What do my fellow bears think?

03 Jan 2017 10:06:18
Henri lansbury out of contract in the summer. Would be a great signing if we were to get him on a pre contract.

03 Jan 2017 10:17:46
you are either still drunk from new year or deluded we are not going to get henry lansbury the guy is to good for us. he will more likely end up at derby or even a premiership team. until we get fresh investment from somewhere and regular european football we are not going to attract quality players and that is fact.

03 Jan 2017 12:17:18
People said the same thing about sinclair to them just saying. Try be a bit more optimistic.

03 Jan 2017 14:12:23
bankiebear they are in the champions league and have a much more settled situation than us and were guarenteed to be in europe at the end of this season which we are not i am optimistic like everyone else but i am also realistic.

03 Jan 2017 16:49:51
Some people don't read the full site. This was most recently posted no more than 48 hours ago mate.

03 Jan 2017 17:50:02
Lansbury would be ideal but think he's been linked with watford and derby and that's just for starts.

04 Jan 2017 10:48:25
Try reading bankiebear's post jamesreilly09! All he said was henri lansbury would be a great signing if we could get him! I totally agree with bankiebear, as lansbury would be a superb signing, IF we could get him! He's the type of goalscoring midfielder we're crying out for!

03 Jan 2017 00:06:50
How unlucky have we been with injurys

Kranjar
Windass
Rossiter
Waghorn
Holt
Garner
Wallace

I think it shows lack of strength in depth and quality. Maybe i'm stating the obvious but we need reinforcements in January!

03 Jan 2017 00:20:04
we do not need reinforcements for the squad this is something that worry me with Warburton we need signing that are better than what we have can he find these players because it seems the deal for jota is off as was to expensive for us so much for David king ment to be backing our manager think this just shows he is not as jota could have added some reall good quality to our first team and Warburton certainly wanted him.

03 Jan 2017 02:19:55
the deal for Jota is not off because its too expensive, its because Brenford want to use him instead of loaning him out.

04 Jan 2017 09:11:48
Wee bill, the word is the jota deal is off for the 2 reasons mate. The financial one and the small matter that dean smith the brentford manager wants to keep jota!

Therefore we would need to pay a transfer fee as well as his wage demands, as brentford won't let him go on loan! Dave king has a good bit to go, to prove to me and i'm sure many other worried rangers fans that he is the right man to take us forward, to challenge celtic!

Up until now he hides behind warburton letting him take all the flak, when he made idle promises that he's not kept! I for one don't want us to go back to the days of reckless spending, of money we didn't have! that's what got our club into this mess in the first place!

But he'll have to spend a bit more on the team than he has done thus far, or let's not be kidded here, if he doesn't back warbs, they will get 10 in a row! That frightens me to hell!
