Apologies Billyboy1. My final comment about concentrating on the transfer window was directed at Rangers fans in general, not you specifically.

I think it's squeaky bum time for us all in the title race. Rangers have to win all their games while Celtic can maybe afford to draw one (assuming we maintain a better goal difference). A defeat for either team will likely spell curtains. Unless they both lose one of course. But both teams are going well just now so should be tight.

I know GovanFR doesn't agree but I think both managers have done a terrific job, albeit in different circumstances.

Athiest not once have I came on here going on about what players to sign. I won't count the chickens till they hatch. If we get taken over over then great, if we don't and we get hit with a big tax bill then so be it. I will still love Rangers and go the games. I agree we should have been told more about what is going on but there aint that much we can do really. Lets turn our conversation the league title race but exciting finish and im hopeful that Rangers will win the league i'm not totally confident that we will.

As far as I'm concerned the stats speak for themselves regarding hooper and goodwillie. 8 less games and 1 more goal for Hooper and he wasnt fully fit in a few of those games due to injury. I'm not saying goodwillie is a bad player. I think he is one of the most exciting young players for a while but I think Hooper is better and would like to see goodwillie in the hoops but its a big target man we need

To the guy who posted "to the guy saying Jelavic to Aston Villa, I doubt they would be willing to pay the fee Rangers would want. Rangers will want at least £8 million for him, probably more."

Rangers operate in a buyers market. So do Celtic of course, but at least we have some bargaining power. Everyone knows the position Rangers are in financially. You could demand the moon but you'll only get what someone is prepared to pay.

Hey there Billyboy1! ! and my ol'mucka GovanFR.

I certainly don't know everything about Craig Whyte or indeed the tax case in general. I don't think I ever suggested I did. What I do know is that there is more than enough information available which, if it was my club that was in the epic crisis that Rangers has put itself in, would have me asking all sorts of questions. Doesn't the embarassing public squabbling of the board members ring ANY alarm bells at all?

You seem to suggest that because I'm a Celtic fan, and because the Rangers Tax Case blog is on a Celtic site, that what is written is nothing but lies and mischief making. All I can say is, if/ when the proverbial hits the fan, that you be honest enough to acknowledge that it was those Celtic guys that tried to warn us.

Your suggestion of a placard holding demo outside Ibrox would be better than nothing but, if I were you, Martin Bain would not be the first person I'd seek out. He's so far out of his depth that he's probably looking up at the Titanic (the ship). Meanwhile, Titanic (the club) is frantically trying to steer away from the looming HMRCberg. Only this particular Titanic is already holed below the waterline. . before it hits!

Of course, Rangers might manage to steer a course which lessens the impact, but from what I understand, that is very, VERY unlikely. But by all means, if you prefer to concentrate on which players you would go for during the transfer window, you bash on.

If you want to talk about goals scored in no. of games Jelavic has scored 16 goals and started 15 games. He is undoubtedly better than Hooper.

Vladimir Weiss is not returning to Rangers, Super Ally does not want him although Kyle Bartley will return. David Weir will definitely retire at the end of the season and there is no chance of a return for Kevin Thomson aa the management see him as too injury prone. Rangers are also set to sign an unnamed 24 year old Swedish midfielder who plays for Stockholm.

Possible signings
Wallace
Bartley
Weiss
Iaquinta
Vaughn
Conway (squad player)
Goodwillie
Boumsong
Cuellar
Alan Smith
Lovenkrands
Lichtsteiner
All are possible (and before you say cuellar isn't, he doesn't get a game at Villa, swap Bougherra for him)

Maybe they would swap but he is on over £25 K a week and we do not pay they wages anymore.

Read that there are two teams in for lichtsteiner and they are talking 8 million for him out of our budjet.

The rest are possible but its all about wages, some will have to take pay cuts.

Can i just ask where the Iaquinta rumour has came from? would his wages not be pretty high and would he be a free transfer or a couple of mil?

How can u say Goodwillie is better than Hooper? They arw both similar players, both speedy and agile. But I think Hooper is stronger, has a better touch and scores more goals Goodwillie has scored 16 in 30 league games (which is a cracking return) but Hoops has scored 17 in just 22 games. You might argue that playing for celtic, hooper will get more chances to score but remember he was injured for about 2 months at least. So come on gers, who u kiddin?

Cheers for answering it for yourself, Celtic will create more chances than Dundee Utd so Hooper should score more. I think Hooper is weaker and slower. It is not difficult to say Goodwllie is better it is an opinion and one I wouldn't expect you to share. Here is another, Goodie is better than Stokes, Samaras and Murphy. Hooper just a small Kris Boyd.

Nope. I wouldn't like to see either given OR keane at celtic park. They are not the players they were and I think they are only linked to celtic because they are Irish. Neil Lennon has made sone great signings this year and I have complete faith in him to strengthen again in the summer. I was merely pointing out that as a celtic fan, I don't think the mentioned players would lead rangers to win the title next year. Do you disagree?

totally agree wi this guy some of the signing people are suggesting on this site are very average players at very average teams , i would like to see goodwillie he has alot of potential and mccoist would get that out him would like to see bartley and weiss back again , but conway , sutton and most of the other players gettin mentioned are average we need a good young mixed with experienced players if we want a decent run in europe as well as win the league.

I think the most important deal in any takeover of Rangers would have to write off the debt.

Think about it from a purely business point of view. Rangers can't afford to pay much wages because we have to make payments toward reducing the debt and also any interest on said loan. If the debt isn't there then that frees up a few million a year to go on wages. Murray says he is would like to see a managable amount of debt remain and money made available now for transfers but once that money is gone, where will the money for further strengthening come from? Not the bank because we already owe them so it would have to come from some other investor who hasn't been forthcoming as yet.

The Whyte deal is the best deal on offer and other than David Murray having a change of heart and deciding to sort the mess himself, which I am sure he is more than capable, it is the only possibility of long term stability available to Rangers at the moment. Yes it is taking its time because of the likes of this so called fan Paul Murray. He just doesn't want to lose his place on the board and making every effort to stall the deal and this is just hurting Rangers more.

Athiest you think you know what you're talking about regarding Craig Whyte but you know just as much as the rest of us f** all. Only the Rangers Board, Lloyds and SDM know how much money he has and what he plans to do with it and why do you keep saying we should be asking questions?? Wait and ill just phone Martin Bain he is on my Speed Dial! ! What do you suggest we stand outside Ibrox with big boards with questions on it and wait for Bain to shout the answer out the window??

Billyboy1! ! !

Please post this one Ed. I would like a reply.

Glad to see somebody agrees with what I've been saying to Atheist. There is nothing out there to discredit Craig Whyte apart from that ridiculous site 'The Rangers tax case' which is moderated by a Celtic fan. Although I would agree with Paul Murray today, I don't see why we should pay off all the debt I'd rather leave the debt at say £10 million and then use the extra money to boost the squad.

If this paul murray is so concerned about a multi ownership then why didn't he come forward with the money when the fans wanted to buy the club.

Personally I think Bartley is a very good defender and would be an excellent signing. Goodwillie scores al lot of goals for Dundee Utd so would likely score a lot for us. Again Weiss is a cracking winger, the space he creates for his teammates just based on the fact that the other teams put two men on him is a great asset. I would love to see all 3 sign. Also you have to remember Rangers and Celtic need to accept the best way to operate is to take players (relatively young) and allow the players to use the club as a stepping stone to the premiership ie. Cuellar and Boumsong. If we signed Weiss, Bartley and Goodwillie all could be sold for good money in time. Bartley and Weiss are obviously at Prem clubs but getting no where near the first team. Plus I'll say this again Goodiwllie is better than Hooper.

I think we should try and get some yougsters that are not making the grade at the big prem teams i.e. pacheco @ liverpool. Not sure if he would come on loan again but i don't think he would cost 2 much. also the french league would be a great place to look for a CM/ DM
