Just finished watching it myself not a dry eye in the house,so very very sad what a cruel illness and what a brave man,I feel humbled and privileged to have him as one of our own.

What a character, would have been a nightmare to be around, but in a good way. Really sad indeed.

I would like to take the time to say my previous post defending foster are justified based on his performance yesterday. Going forward he was good with some decent balls into the box. He does make mistakes defensively as he is an attacking wingback not a fullback in my opinion.

We have a chance in the playoffs McCall will make sure the players are ready and get the tactics right but it's down to the players to handle the pressure and the defence to focus for the full 90.

Bell, Clark and Murdoch are the main culprits for giving the ball away and are a bombshell I can see why everyone raves on about Murdoch but seriously in the game against Qots please watch how much he gives the ball away!

It would not have mattered if Rangers had won 10-0. Hibs were still in second place so yesterday was a nothing match as far as promotion goes. The question now is can Rangers win the games moving forward? In addition to that, if Rangers go up there has to be a minimum of 6 or 7 million spent just to compete with Aberdeen and Dundee Unt. Know they have had a poor second half if the season but currently have a better squad than Rangers. So let's see the colour of Dave Kings money. So far nothing invested. Ashley still in control. Let's see what happens now!

Fosters better than what else we have

03 May 2015 17:53:32
faure better than foster

Agree5 Disagree1

03 May 2015 18:04:07
I look faure as well he's solid and strong, is decent going forward too I would use him in a back 4 and foster as a wingback with a back 3. Zico mcgregor is our strongest defender by a mile and although he is good going forward he's built like a tank and should be protecting the goalie.

We will see the colour of kings money during the summer, Rangers will be a new team before the new season starts

Foster is rank rotten and hopefully will be shown the door at the end of the season

03 May 2015 22:33:44
Yes but until we get someone else in he will have to do. I would go for Jason naismitj or Stephen odonnel.

03 May 2015 23:31:18
Don't see why McCall didn't pick Sinammon if he is worse than Foster he should chuck it I cannot believe anyone can come on here and defend Foster. Saying he is rank rotten is being kind.

Why what was so bad about his last performance? Foster had a dip in form when the team was going through that bad spell. They all made mistakes I honestly think you are just jumping on the bandwagon. He had a good game last game and that was his first game back for months

04 May 2015 09:45:44
Sinnamons a kid that's why.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 May 2015 11:32:16
Good post Stewie,if Foster can walk into the team after that lay-off, then Sinnamon should know that McCall doesn't rate him. He'll be off in the summer unless another manager comes in with a different opinion of him.

perry mason couldnae make a case for foster

04 May 2015 13:08:53
I forget, everyone on here loves the kids regardless of experience of crowds, tough games, etc they will bring energy but constant first team actually does more bad than good.

Look at super aird and mckay

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how does it do them more bad? It gives them experience. The only issue is if they have a poor attitude they can assume they have already made it and stop working on their game so hard. That is nothing to do with anything but them though and they would have that problem at some point in their career either way. By getting in the team early it just gives a chance to assess that and find out earlier and so get rid of them.}

05 May 2015 19:03:31
Even Jim Denny in the 70's was a better player than Foster and that's saying something.

03 May 2015 11:25:41
According to McCall's comments after yesterday's game, he took Vuckic off to save him for the play-offs (he was a yellow card away from a ban) and Foster was taken off because he wasn't match fit. That said, surely he could have taken Foster off but play three at the back and five across the middle for the last 10 minutes?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

03 May 2015 11:52:33
The thing is McCall knew that Hibs had won their match at this point barring miracles so it did make sense to make some changes though maybe not the ones he made. Up until then Rangers looked pretty good to me when it really mattered.

So much doom and gloom in the pub I was in last night, you would think we had to play Barca, Real and Bayern in the playoffs. Still confident that we will go up and still hope Stuart is given the job.

Question: which other Scottish manager with the resources he had at Motherwell could have finished second twice in the SPL?

Agree3 Disagree4

03 May 2015 12:24:23
So, are you saying , Naz , that it was acceptable for our manager to put our team, that was cruising, into self destruct mode because hibs were winning anyway? The doom and gloom comes from the fact that we were in easy street yesterday and we self destructed AGAIN and it worries me that our manager is making mistakes when we need to be solid.

Agree4 Disagree0

03 May 2015 12:52:38
Jyf, I, sort of, agree with Naz on the substitutions, as I do not believe that McCall would do the same if a win was essential to progress, as would be the case in the play-offs.
Your point of being solid is essential in the play-offs, where my biggest concern will be QOS. away.
I have been a big critic of our tactics but, at least, McCall is tactically aware and let's hope his experience can get the best out of the squad. In our favour we have at least 4 players that, on form, would walk into any of the play-off teams, so let's get 100% behind whoever is picked and leave any post mortems, if necessary, till later.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 May 2015 12:58:50
Of course yesterday was disappointing, but let's not overreact. I was actually expecting him to take off McGregor, Miller and Vuckic as they were all risking missing out on the playoff game. Once Hibs were cruising, the match became irrelevant.

McCall had set us up well, the team nullified Hearts right up until a daft individual mistake from Bell (who is allowed the odd mistake in my view, as the alternatives to Cammy don't bear thinking about!) and then the wheels came off a bit.

Don't be surprised if Jig returns for QOS away next weekend, he could play all three centre backs together and free up Wallace and Foster. Now, although it makes sense it does worry me greatly, as McGregor would then need to mark the opposition striker and keep an eye on Zaliukas and bail out McCulloch every time he gets caught out.

It's going to be tough, but we need to keep believing. No matter what happens, the summer clear out will make a big difference. Get some hungry young players in for a quarter of the wages.

Agree4 Disagree1

03 May 2015 14:23:39
Agree Scott yesterday result didn't matter as hibs were cruising it's what happens in play offs that matter.their playing a bit better just need to keep mcgregor in middle and not let McCullough near

Agree2 Disagree0

03 May 2015 14:56:09
Jyf, my point is that had McCall kept on Vukic and he had receieved a red card or else been seriously injured then he would have been slaughtered by some for not taking him off. I can see why he did what he did.

Agree2 Disagree2

03 May 2015 23:37:59
Sorry but it seems that some people just refuse to see what's happening with this team. It's one bad performance after another and the players can't be trusted. It seems to be that the team either plays poorly e.g. 2 draws against Livingston, draws against Cowdenbeath, Alloa and an embarrassing defeat to QOS or they play well but end up either giving the lead away or hanging on at the end. Do you honestly believe this team who haven't strung 6 decent games in a row all season will somehow magically play well in 6 games and get promoted? Open your eyes the team is rotten, some of the players are shocking and McCall is falling into the same traps as the previous 2 clowns.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2015 07:27:23
Fair enough Naz but my complaint was what he did to the defense. He then came on and defended his decision, if he had just said well I made a bit of a hash of things then fair play but what happens if we are 2 up on Saturday? Can he be trusted not to make the same mistakes and "save " players for the second leg or hibs game.

Zal macg and McCulloch with foster and Wallace as wing backs.

Got to be McGregor and Zaliukas. Please not McCulloch or we can kiss promotion goodbye.

03 May 2015 13:20:43
If we're playing 3 at the back in the play offs it has to be mcgregor, zaliukas & mohsni and not mcculloch, foster & wallace as our right & left wing-backs,mohsni played well at easter road in a 3 at the back although mcculloch played that day as well

Agree1 Disagree20

03 May 2015 13:57:00
I'd play foster zal moshni mcgregor and Wallace with jig sitting in front. We have to stifle their supply and nullify the fast breaks. Rest of the team would be: Bell, Law, Walsh, Murdoch and Miller with Hardie, Vuckic and Shiels and Clark on bench. Miller plays the lone striker role well and the energy of Walsh and Murdoch will combat their midfield runners. Do a Walter Smith and shut them down

Agree1 Disagree1

03 May 2015 17:17:01
Play 5 at back and sit tight try and pick them its what they did to us.

03 May 2015 07:32:05
Ok then, I hope all the sign Mccall up now gang see him for what he is, he single handedly turned a fine performance and victory into a last 10 min shambles and draw that felt like a defeat. Who at tyncastle yesterday appart from him thought that our defence needed changing? Miller was treading water after about 55mins so if Jig had to come on there was your substitution right there and if Foster had to come off put someone on at right back not change the whole defense about, I've said it before but nothing has changed and it really has to.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

03 May 2015 11:06:22
its the same old mistakes being made if McCall had came in and dropped jig from the start and put Gallagher up front we wouldn't be having to play qos twice we would have finished second
McCall record ain't great yet loads people saying we should give him
a chance to build a team is this the same people that sayed to give ally a chance we can not afford the same mistakes being made again
when things got hard at Motherwell McCall could not turn it around and left the players he was signing for Motherwell where good for them but does he have the contacts to sign players capable to play for rangers every player needs replacing in our team we can not afford any more mistakes the job should be open to all applications
and see who flings there self in to the hat personally I would be doing every thing in my power to get warburton and weir
other clubs will be interested in him ye but we are still a big club and capable of attracting this calibre of manager

You're spot on Craigs and Jyf. Check the stats and you will see our most successful manager this season has been - yes, Ally. More points per game, more goals scored per game, fewer goals conceded per game; only one of the 3 with a win ratio of above 50%. And those lauding McCall as a tactical genius after the Hibs win should be rethinking that now.

Agree2 Disagree2

03 May 2015 12:52:40
I can't believe people slagging mccall off, the guy has come in to try and get rangers promoted he hasn't failed yet, he is having to work with a squad that he inherited and hasn't been able to bring anyone in! I think he is doing a decent job, I think we will beat hibs and qos over 2 legs,

Agree1 Disagree0

03 May 2015 14:01:37
Jr I'd rather him make a tactical mistake yesterday than do it in the play offs!

Agree2 Disagree1

03 May 2015 15:01:39
Stevie wonder coulda told you mccoist has been most successful manager this season gord, bit hard not to be when you've played half the season! Cammy bell caused us the game, not lee mcculloch or tom Walsh, change wouldn't have been made to back 4 if we had something to play for, McCall knew hibs were already cruising to 2nd place. Same team will start next week and we will beat qos, hibs then Motherwell!

03 May 2015 18:49:27
Laycass, maybe you should ask Steve wonder to read the comments to you before you reply. If you take a look the context is point PER GAME and the same measure for goals for and against. that's the stats. Nothing to do with hating.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 May 2015 23:51:10
I agree McCall's record isn't that good. He hasn't even managed to win half the games he has played and when you consider he has played against the bottom 3 sides 4 times and hasn't won it doesn't make good reading. He keeps making the same mistakes as the other 2 managers and he insistence in picking McCulloch has cost us 2nd place. There was no need to bring him on yesterday and he has to take his share of the blame for the second goal. We ain't going up and McCall doesn't deserve the job
