Right, today we have had a very positive result, there will still be people unhappy. We won t get carried away with result, but surely there will be some positive comments on here.

Believable29 Unbelievable11

At least we can now have a day or two without somebody calling for Ally's head.

Getting boring now.

Agree22 Disagree16

Not worth a mention, highly paid professionals against amateur part timers.
Didn't get covered by TV or radio. Just another step closer to a proper full time team and the inevitable.

Agree17 Disagree12

To add to my op, or at least there will be less negativity!!

Agree11 Disagree5

Decent result in a potentially tricky game. The early goal helped and seemed to settle them down into a passing game.Alloa were to be fair, disappointing, but you play who you play.Lets start playing this way every game instead of defensive minded football. AB.

Agree13 Disagree5

@2: Alloa's players aren't amateurs but are part-timers.

Agree10 Disagree3

Wasn't a great game. Alloa seemed void of ideas lacked any physical threat and that suites rangers. First 20 was ok and the last 15 the best football was played. Good result after Wednesdays game and some goals spread through te team. Can only breed confidence.

Agree9 Disagree4

Great show Rangers. Well done Ally. 7-0 against any team is just magnificent! The knockers will have to wait a bit longer to try and get you to do walking away. Geo the Ger

Agree17 Disagree17

Nea bother geo the hamster.Henke7

Agree4 Disagree2

Couldnt agree mere Geo, tomorrow is the time to get Ally to sign that 25 year deal.

Joeshmo1888

Agree11 Disagree1

Doooooooo it! 25 years of swally would be magnifique.

Agree7 Disagree0

25yrs of lennon would probably result on a good 100games in the stand suspended

Agree10 Disagree1

25 yrs of lennon would mean I would go through a lot of batteries, either pressing the mute button or changing channel whenever his mug appears on the box.

Agree13 Disagree1

@12 Tut tut jealosy is a terrible thing. I imagine you have got a face for radio.

What a performence today by every player, Sheils was amazing so was young barrie mckay what a goal his first one was 7-0, WATP

Believable27 Unbelievable23

Calm doon ffs, remember it was only a team from Hawaii you were playing.....Stevie

Agree10 Disagree8

WATP? Are you joking? This was Alloa! Let's keep our feet on the ground,it was an improvement that will with luck do the young players a world of good. AB.

Agree16 Disagree5

7 celtic fans LOL

Agree7 Disagree7

Good result today, let's keep it going but thought it was a poor game. Alloa were crap, we shouldn't get to carried away, though it should build a bit of confidence we seemed to lack until today. Hope we get better press now, though thought Black's comments in today's papers were over the top considering his record 5 bookings in the third div. already this season and also the number of players he has injured, some things should be said but surely not by him.
Accuing refs. who have let him away with murder in the past. Justice??
Bobby

Agree3 Disagree3

@3: so only Celtic fans will disagree? How narrow-minded of you.

Agree9 Disagree5

Super duper.wonder who you,ll get in the next round at home again

Agree5 Disagree1

To (3). you might win it and get into europe. lol.

Agree5 Disagree3

@ 7 they cant get into europe even if they do win it ... but getting a big spl club is just like a big european match if they get a first division club will that be like a big europa league game ??

Agree9 Disagree3

To (8) i was being sarcastic mate. .H.

Agree1 Disagree0

2 Scots cup ties.one away one home. What's with all this home draw paranoia? Tut tut. Nothing changes eh?!

Agree8 Disagree2

@10: what about the other cups this season?

Agree2 Disagree1

@11,

If it had been other way round and gers were getting all away games.......what would your opinion be then? Just asking like.

Agree0 Disagree1

@12: to be honest, I don't really care - was just pointing out to the previous post that there were other cups too.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Nov 2012 13:38:27
If Rangers lose today, at home, (why are all the cup games at home?) then it's failed 8 out of 8 for Ally. I believe he will then honourably resign for the good of Rangers.
We need a massive step change and he cannot bring that. {The Ed039's Note - I dont think he will resign, I dont think he will be sacked regardless of the outcome today)

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Why are all the cup games at home?

they are not, you just dont make the finals at hampden or wherever, and tend to loose cup matches at home...?

Agree2 Disagree2

At last gers show that if you have more internationalists, more full timers, and pay them more you can beat a part-time team by loads.

Agree6 Disagree2

Do not agree with you ed, no win today Ally will do the right thing, probably will not cut all ties but will give up being manager i am sure. Indeed i think there is every chance of this regardless of result and upcoming share issue.

Agree1 Disagree0

Your back down to your own level today dont get carried away

Agree8 Disagree0

@2: it only took 3 months lol

Agree5 Disagree0

I'm a Celtic fan and I'm puzzled as to what 8/8 meant, is this cup ko's? First of I cant figure out 8, is that SC, LC, CL and EL last season plus RC, LC, SC this season? Because that is only 7. Secondly and I wont check till I've finished typing this paragraph but didn't Rangers win a third round SC tie last season against someone? I'm thinking Arbroath.

Yup Arbroath 4-0, gonna get your facts right guys, call us obsessed all you want but I tend to prefer the term factual.

Ed's right, he will not be sacked, I said so last week too, he is a key cog in the floatation and Green knows that.

Agree2 Disagree2

Top of SFL3, 18 points from a possible 27. Shows how dire this league is when you can drop a massive 33% of your points and still be top.
Alloa second in second Div. might be able to give us a game.

On paper we're the favourites but I'm afraid it's all down to tactics and the Ally factor. Regardless, I predict sfl2 type football not pleasing to the eye.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Not - dire just a league of close teams?

gers crowing too much.... if any other team in this league had your money, stadium or fans - they too would have a chance... as is gers... means only 1 team and escape this league this season.

humility - get some!

Agree8 Disagree8

So what if we have dropped some points, Celtic have played 10 league games and have 20 points meaning they also have dropped a third of their points yet we don't hear fans complaining! Get over it and support the team!

Mr Green states that wage bill is under £7m he also states that Season ticket money is in bank untouched...if both are true....
why was there a rush and a panic to have season tickets bought for the money to sit in the bank for 3 months.... why the rush for a shares issue when there must be enough spare cash lying about to pay 3 months wages ..tax.. NI..and Vat without dipping into the £12m ST ticket money...so again my question is WHY the rush??............are Rangers the only club in the country ( world maybe) that can opperate without using season ticket money for a quarter of the season..???johnnyG...ally must stay but more questions than answers it would appear

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Uhhhm. Because he is telling pork pies perhaps. Who is paying the wages and day to day running if the season ticket money is still in the bank? CG put no money in, so how is this working?

Agree4 Disagree1

No accounts published... so all figures speculative.

is this player wages or all wages ?

Agree4 Disagree2

How is it speculative? He stated categorically that the season Ticket money is in the bank untouched. I challenge him to prove that because its unbelievable for any team in the world let alone Rangers in this liquidation oweing £160m and newco situation.
Im booing Green when he steps out today. {The Ed039's Note - I am not saying he is a goody goody by any means, but while you are booing him, remember and spare a thought that he and his "investors" are the only reason anyone is stepping out today)

Agree6 Disagree2

Who bank account he talking about, no details.... rangers, ranger retail, there are 8 companies now with the ranger names....

only one will be sold to the fans, the one without any future prospect of a profit... where they buying 50% of company with assets of £80 million.... unless those assets not worth this or owned by some other rangers company....

web of interesting facts and mis-leading statements.... no word 'the times' making a mokery of the float....

Agree4 Disagree0

Ed39 You are so right. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but the dark days were only yesterday and we have a future because of Green, Id shake him by the hand and say thankyou given the chance. Lets hope I can say the same in 12months time... CheltBlue

Agree2 Disagree3

Firstly 12m STicket money is a nonsense. 36 thousand at £258 a whip is only 9.288 million and thats before the costs and sales tax etc. AND thats if it were all adult tickets which its obviously not. Juveniles make up at least a quarter of that. 9000 (a quarter of sales) at £65 is £585k. The other 27 thousand fans at full price £258 makes £6.96 million.

£6.96 million + £585k = £7.55 million

Then the costs of advertising season tickets (radio, tv etc) plus sales tax etc

Possibly 100k

Around £7.45 million which is quite a bit away from 12 million.

And anybody who actually believes that there would be no Rangers at all if it werent for Charles Green is in my opinion delusional. Brian Kennedy's blue knights wanted Rangers and apparently bid more but had a fast one pulled on them, Walter Smith and his rich pals wanted Rangers and tried to get it from Charles Green just after he had bought it. There's is no chance whatsoever that a new Rangers in some shape or form wouldn't have been formed. Charles Green is a liar, and a mouthpiece and he will be shown up for what he is soon enough.

Agree6 Disagree3

6) spot on! I was about to reply to Ed's comment about Green but you beat me to it.
Another Ibrox myth that Green is the only show and we are all indebted to him. Utter rubbish.

Agree3 Disagree0

So where were smith and mccoll all spring and early summer? That's right. Waiting for Gers to go bust so they.could ride on all heroic and buy us. Too little too late. Like Kennedy blue knights. Pissed about for weeks on end with lots of hot air. And let's not get started on bomber brown.

Everyone read John Hartsons opinion on Ally McCoist in the Scottish Sun , you will have so much respect for him afterwards {The Ed039's Note - It was a great article, but I disagree with him stating fans are not disgruntled, I just think its not getting any degree of coverage, the fans are most definately split)

Believable7 Unbelievable2

For saying what we want to hear??
Won t change my opinion of him either way.

ps,

I think hes a good guy before anyone calls me bigoted lol

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree with you Ed.
I also don't think it's about sticking with Ally whatever. That's just dumb.
He has dropped nine points from a possible 27 in the lowest league in Scotland. 33%. It's only because its such s poor league that we're top.

Agree4 Disagree2

I think what Big John is saying could be the truth that a lot of fans want to hear . He's also an ex Tic hero and has no ties to the club . Compare that to Ally's ex team mates and pals Hateley, Goram , Gough , and Johnstone who wouldn't say a cross word against him . Most of them never grew up supporting Rangers and should remember no man is bigger than the club itself .........DH

Agree4 Disagree0

Hartson is respected. He talks sense on TV and an immense footballer.
Ally IS only there because he's Ally. End of.
Anybody else would be out the door. Proof, with better records than Ally they were shown the door.
It was about the cups.
Sadly it's a big bill to just win div3.

Agree1 Disagree1

I dont listen to a word that hartson says. He is a complete idiot. Many a time i listened to him batter on about how celtic would win the league. Only for them to bottle it and him to keep his big trap shut would be ideal

Apparently the first investors in Greens consortium put in 5.5 million and expect to quadruple their money when the share flaot takes place. Will my 500 quid go to making a strong Rangers or to enrich Green and his mates? I just worry that they will take my money and run.

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Celtic fan here I would worry at the timing of the share issue Whats the big rush According to Green he has investors coming out the woodwork or is this another figment of his wild imagination
Just before Xmas and he turns to ordinary fans looking for £500 It stinks

Agree8 Disagree1

It's a fair point . These are hard times with maybe harder still to come. My advice for what it's worth is if you can't afford to lose the £500 don't invest. Nobody can fault any fan for being skint , or putting his family first. HH joe

Agree10 Disagree0

Quadrupling there money would mean 22 mil raised. If the share money goes to giving the people who saved the club as best they could then fair doos. As long as the club are financially sound with money in the bank and bills paid why really bother. Green said he would let fans own part of the club if you want to be part of it. If you want your money to go towards team development probably not a good idea

Agree1 Disagree6

Don't buy then. If its a return you want don't buy. No one is forcing you

Agree6 Disagree1

I think the lies regarding deal with Adidas. Deal with Dallas cowboys. Zero debt. All season ticket money still in bank. I think these are illegal and false representation prior to a share issue. Giving investors a false indication of company financial health.
Failure today will be another financial hit.

Agree5 Disagree2

I live near the town of Herzogenaurach, Germany, HQ of both rival firms Adidas and Puma (both companies founded by 2 brothers, The Dasslers). No one here has had a meeting with Rangers Board members, and this town would know, as the only think the locals talk about is Adidas and Puma. So if secretarial staff to board members at Adidas are telling me no such talks took place, I think I believe them.

Agree5 Disagree8

Disagree? ever been to Herzogenaurach? its a small town of 30,000 people. Think the locals have an agenda to lie to me? Do you know the origins of Adidas and Puma? If the people who are preparing schedules and meetings for the Dassler members of the Adidas board say no such meetings took place I believe them. Dassler family still have major influence over the firm, even after flotation. Ask CG, he knows all about controlling interests after a share issue. {The Ed039's Note - Bloody hell, OK almighty. Of all their departments and all sorts of global advisors, sales persons, negotiators all over the world, this one little town in Germany would know everything and anything in the world of adidas and puma?)

Agree3 Disagree3

Uuum. Ed, yes. They do. I have not worked for Adidas but I was as an analyst for Goldman Sachs and we were lead bank for the Puma IPO back in 1997. I do know how both these firms work and all things are approved in this small German town for both firms. I know. I have been told no talks with Rangers. I got no agenda to ****. Unlike a certain CG bulling you with stories of Wall Street. {The Ed039's Note - OK, it just seems odd to me)

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes. Ed, it is odd but the control of both companies lie in Herzogenaurach. The family ties have never been lost. The town of Herzogenaurach is actually split pretty much down the Puma/Adidas loyalty lines. The two brothers fell out big time and the town is divided over the two firms. It does remind be of the Old Firm. But this is true. Google Dassler family and Herzogenaurach. Interesting history, but that is how I know, along with my work history. Nothing happens at Puma or Adidas without the town of Herzogenaurach knowing about it, trivial or large issues, they know it all. {The Ed039's Note - OK bud I believe you)

Agree2 Disagree1

Adi Dassler also made the shoes that Jesse Ownes wore at the 1936 Olympics. All true. That was the political/ideological root of the split between Adi Dassler (Adidas) and his brother, Rudolph, who left the firm of Adidas after the war and formed Puma. I do know this one. And know a lot of people at both companies. Also know Frank Dassler, originally a Puma man who "defected" to Adidas. He is head of environmental and social affairs at Adidas and sits on the board. Dont think he would approve of a tie up between either Adidas with Rangers or Adidas with Celtic in present times. Got to bury a bit of history before anyone takes any of us seriously.

Agree1 Disagree0

So say again.why won't adidas go with rangers? Just cos it ain't happened don't mean it won't.

Agree0 Disagree1

Number 11. Have you read these posts? Frank Dassler. Head of environmental and social afflairs at Adidas. (which for thickos means guardian of the firms ethics). He is the grandson of the brother of the founder of Adidas. An Adidas board member, I have met him, genuine guy. They wont touch Celtic or Rangers with a barge pole in any type of corporate contract. They will sell us boots though.

Agree0 Disagree1

For the poster saying adiddas wouldnt touch the old firm i think youll find rangers have been kitted by the company in the past

Agree1 Disagree0

When? When have Adidas ever had a corporate contract with Rangers? or Celtic. When? No Adidas then, no Adidas now. Tell me number 13 when? {The Ed039's Note - Rangers had adidas kits in the 90s, real bad ones when you look back at them, but thats all)

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers been kitted by Adidas in mid 90s. Never had a commercial / corportate partnership. and Never will. Dream on Mr Green.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers have had adidas kits. 9 in a row was a nice adidas one. Very nice.

It's a Hobsons choice for Green. Without significant restrengthening I honestly cannot see this team getting promoted, as they are very very poor away from home.
Many fans have pointed towards the Motherwell game as some kind of benchmark but Motherwell fans are quick to point out that game is their worst performance by Motherwell in living memory, perhaps ever.
If Green sacks him, the fans of every other club will have a field day rebuking the "we don't do walking away" millstone that McCoist placed around his own neck.
If he stays it will not get better in the short term. Some of these players (Cribari & Faure in particular) are absolutely atrocious, and will never be able to compete in games of this type.
I feel the super high expectations of Rangers fans, and management, is a key factor in their dreadful away form which now almost stretches back a full year without a win. Instead of Durrant claiming they will win all four trophies, or McCoist uttering crazed nonsense about being the "form team in Scotland" I feel the expectations should be more realistic.
Rangers are no longer a force in football. The Stirling result was no blip, many many people could see it (and others) coming. Their management need to be honest with their fans, stop making out they are in some kind of plane above anyone.

They are a diddy team, and saying anything else is embarrassing in itself.

Believable19 Unbelievable5

As a Rangers fan for many years I have seen the ups and downs since the late 50's, but this is an all time low.
Charles Green is an investor and has made no secret of his position, so instead of lambasting him turn your fury to the supposed ' Rangers men ' who after showing interest in buying the club did do walking away. The only way for them to gain any respectibility is to say why they did and if Duff and Phelps have acted in an unfit manner then that situation should be dealt with.
On the rantings of winning cups etc., I think we all knew that was bravado, so let's get promotion and re-group for future battles. Remember that next season we can register released players after the 1st. September and in our position there will be no other option.
So, I suggest that we back the club as it stands and make changes at the end of the season, if necessary.

Agree4 Disagree3

Mate are you having a laugh can't see us getting promoted we are top with a game in hand other second we have a superior goal difference we have finally managed a away win. We are a third div team wake up and smell the coffee. Did you honestly believe we had a right to beat Inverness. Do you remember the saying. Super caley go ballistic em that didn't come about from them beating a third div team. That came from them beating the mighty Celtic. Get a grip and stop being silly we will get promoted from the third div no probs

Agree8 Disagree2

Not won away in a year? {The Ed039's Note - I didnt see this post, was the last SPL game not away and an absolute spanking against St Johnstone, did Rangers not win at Clyde last week, I mean thats just 2 off the top of my head but just shows how idiotic the post is)

Agree7 Disagree1

Op

They are top of the league while not playing much good football. Do you expect them to get worse as season progresses? I would think we will have a fair bit to spare by May.

Yes ed. And a hammering of dunfermline few days before admin if I recall.

Div Three cloggers boot me black 'n blue
Black complaining in morning paper saying refs don't protect rangers and the worst refs end up in div3.

Black carved out a reputation as an SPL hardman during his time at Hearts.

Wonder who put him up to this? Ally n green.

Believable12 Unbelievable2

It doesn't excuse the poor passing and gettin caught in possession every week. Grow a pair black. Start earning your money.

The refs protect all players from all teams no special treatment for one team. Ridiculous to ask for it.

No doubt black will play, little will be in a wide role, argryrou will feature, and we'll resort to long balls and negative tactics, and we'll never see Cole, Stella, Witorski etc LeJonWATP

The SFA has a cheek to take that Dundee money off us! Their sitting there holding hundreds of thousands of our money as they say the team that was due it is being liquidated and then say we owe that money?! use the hundreds a thousands you owe us to pay! Ya bunch a crooks!

Believable5 Unbelievable17

Charles has had to rework his spreadsheets after Ally got pumped out last week's cup. Ally did the same with Whyte and its déjà vous with Green.
Out cup, cash flow projections go south, ticket prices go up and calls for Walter back.

Agree11 Disagree1

Had to rework his spreadsheets? Good one. If green relied on league cup for income he's not a good business man. Cups are an extra. Especially in div 3. Ally has got a team for div 3. Possibly div 2. No one really expected us to go all the way with those players did they?. When we are higher in the league's and without embargo well sign better players. It's a no brainer.
