I wonder if us buying players is a positive thing because we have the funds for players so we should have the penny's to pay of this tax dispute. Altho concerned I believe Whyte will prove us all wrong

Ed could u confirm that papac played for Bosnia last night?? {Ed001's Note - according to reports he played the full 90min as Bosnia recorded a 2-0 win over Belarus.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hi Ed do you think this tax debate will be solved soon? Im just getting a little concerned. Any positive news? {Ed001's Note - these things can take months or even years to resolve. HMRC are extremely difficult to deal with to say the least. I really wouldn't expect anything solved this year, unless Rangers agree to pay everything HMRC asks.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

A LITTLE concerned? Jeez! ED, HMRC wouldn't be hard to deal with if Rangers had paid their tax when due. Stop blaming everyone else for things that Rangers have brought on themselves.

Atheist {Ed001's Note - not true mate, HMRC are not always that fair, I have had a lot of trouble with them because of an error they have made. I always pay my taxes on time and I don't even claim for everything, just in case. But this tax case is a different matter, when you have the guy in charge of chasing things up being the worst tax avoider in the country, it is a little difficult to suggest Rangers have brought it on themselves. Companies like Vodafone owe billions in unpaid taxes, shouldn't they be being chased up first? This is not the same as not paying them, but about trying to use loopholes to avoid paying them. Loopholes that have since been closed and now HMRC are chasing up the lost revenue.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say they haven't brought it upon themselves ED?
the fact is, they tried a scam, got away with it for a few years, and are now having to face the music.
when you mention the likes of vodafone, you're bang on, absolutely disgusting what they have been let off with, but the reason HMRC turned a blind eye to their tax avoidance was vodafone threatened to pull out of the uk in it's entirety, meaning jobs and its service. if only strongarm tactics like that could work for rangers, but they wont.
The biggest sign yet that they will take what they believe is the fact that bank accounts have been seized, just like the council used to do with unpaid council tax, they froze your account, emptied it, then you had to practically beg for the change back {Ed001's Note - what I meant was that it is one rule for huge corporations, such as Vodafone, and another for Rangers. If they are not going to make EVERYONE pay it, then they should not just pick and choose which ones they do make pay it. It is typical of this country to let those who can afford it off, and those that can't get hit with fines.}

sorry ED001, but that 'loopholes' comment is simply nonsense. Long before AJ, Hugh Adam tried to warn Rangers fans.... back in 2002...

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed, misunderstood.
completely agree with that, it seems the grander the theft, the more you get away with. you and i would get jailed if we stole from a bank, yet banks steal billions from the government, and get rewarded with bailouts....you couldnt make it up! {Ed001's Note - it's sickening really, Iceland have changed all that in their country and the rest of the world is treating them like pariahs because of it.}

I'm a bit confused. The rangers fans all loved mcculloch last season and were hoping he made it back for the title run in. (Correct me if I'm mistaken) so what's the problem now? Yes him and edu can't play in the same time as there too similar, but all succesful teams have a guy that breaks up play by protecting the defence. The problem is the formation and tatics imo! Don't play 2 defencive midfeilders.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Spot on bud. Everyone were gutted when he was going to be out for the season. He was one of the best players for us up until he got injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

Edu is not a defensive midfielder nor is he a an attacking midfielder .. lee mcculloch played with my dad at cumbernauld utd and was useless .. al of a sudden people think he is a defensive midfielder when he has played up top most of his career .. dont get me wrong hes a good squad player but that where it end for me and for edu hes not fit to wear a rangers jersey enyday of the year .. WATP in allly we follow

mr murray should be left to pay the tax bill not whyte, so now we all know the real reason why nobody else got signed before the window closed.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Perhaps he should also give back all the titles he bought during the 90s as well ,cant have it both ways ,you all loved it during that period but now the sh#t has hit the fan its the fault of everyone else (taxman ,sfa ,uefa goverment,murray celtic)fab1

Good to see Naismith put in such a hard working skill filled shift for Scotland this afternoon. NOT what a donkey.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Want to wish Celtic all the best for their Europa league games. You are really going to need your full depth of squad to manage that level of games and you better hope that you don't let your domestic form slip at all because the Champions will punish you! Whatever problems you think we have at our club will be nothing compared to if you lose out on domestic success again and then Lemon will be out and it will be your mob that have to start again. I have no doubts that Rangers will win the league again this year,and im sick of the pessimism coming from fans on here,get a grip,the deluded hoops think they have a squad of players like barca or man city.Fact is,both squads are similar,but we have the heart and belief,so chin up.Dont be overly concerned about the tax issue,it is common practice for a company to question the penalty clauses as intimated,its the anti Rangers press winding you up.we are the champs.4 in a row.

I am happy we're getting some good young talent inthe form of the twins and gasperreto. This bodes well for the future and i just hope the fans give ally the support and time he needs right now to become a success and bring these youngsters through.

People shouldnt worry about whyte either. This guy is shrewd. I think he will do to rangers what he has done with most other companies hes been involved with. That is buy cheap and sell high. If he sells the club on in a couple of years it will be for big bucks to someone with big bucks. Have faith bears it will all turn out fine.

Did anyone watch the USA v Costa Rica game last night? Bocanegra was outstanding playing at centreback. Edu was right wing. He actually looked the part their. Getting to the byline and putting in great crosses. I know it might be hard to believe put that position actually suits him. It might give Ally something to think about if he watched the game.
In Ally We Trust.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Who were costa ricas fullbacks? anyone noteable or anyone who turned up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Costa rica aren't too shabby a team to be honest. Probably 3rd or 4th best CONCAF team after Mexico, USA & Canada, who they are almost on a par with.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play, maybe worth giving him a run out then, may suprise a few. But to be honest Iam a closet fan of Edu anyways think he is made a scape goat of at times.

I may be wrong and well off the mark tell me if i am as i have been away for a few years and have to support the bears from abroad

Mr whyte takes over the club and gives lloyds bank about 15M to clear of the Rangers Footbal Club debt. thank f#4k he had the aspiration to take us over even though we had a big debt and the tax issue hanging over us.

Ok so at the end of every month i owe my bank money that i have spent on my credit card

I take money from another account and clear off my debt.

Do i owe myself that amount of money taht i used to square off my debt?

If yes, then Mr Whyte owes Mr Whyte 15M if no then give it a rest everybody

If we use the same logic that lots of people use on here and apply it to the mankymob then how much does dermot desmond owe dermot desmond

Tell me if i am missing something or i make it sound too simple

JG

If anybody is going on holiday or has to work on the 18th i will pay a good price for your tkt as i have a trip back planned

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I think you will find on a scale of this size your theory is oot the windy as some folk might say, its a big business you are talking about not paying £200 quid from one account to another..

Agree0 Disagree0

U r missing something whyte has not paid of the bank

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish to feck my credit card bill was 200 quid a month mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte has not taken funds from 1 account and paid the other. He has taken the debt (15m or whatever it was) and offset it against one of his companies. So that company is now carrying the debt.

If this is correct what surprises me is why the bank signed this off and not the last ditch attempt made by King and P Murray, as they too proposed to service the current debt and use funds raised to buy a team!
What I'm saying is either way the bank still have not got their money!

I may be wrong.

GDog

Agree0 Disagree0

To my last statement - I made an error. The truth is that Rangers are still in debt (18m is the figure). The difference is the debt is owed to his Co. Wavetower. So who the hell knows what will happen should we win or lose this case.

GDog

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte has paid off the debt to the bank with money from his company now rangers owe this money to him

In my humble opinion Whyte is going to see what happens next session with the champions league before he even touches any of our debt. If we get to the group stages we still get a healthy sum of money and pay of most debt with that. Altho I do believe he should dip his hands in his pocket not for players but for the debt. I would rather hear that we have put 15 or 20 million towards it than hear we have signd players. I think the financial aspect should be the first thing on every fans mind feel free to disagree but it's our club at stake. Ger4life

Is Craig Whyte good for Rangers?

Yes = Believable No = Unbelievable

Believable16 Unbelievable15

What does believable or unbelievable have to do with it?

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a long game involved here, the american players will get us exposed in the states, the debt aspect will in time be handled accordingly, the extended contracts will help us in time financially. This man is not a football fan, he is a businessman. He will turn us around but it will take years before we are the force in the transfer market, but bear in mind we wont be the force we were until we can conjure more money from tv.......which brings us back to the american intrest and tv rights over there......

Peter liewell really does talk a lot of rubbish and the thing is the unwashed take it all in, When since does a europa league group that consists of teams that finished 2nd in spl, 4th in italian league, 6th in spanish league and 5th in french league become a champions league group? what a lot of garbage

When does the europa league ever give u revenue of 5 million? The tims really live on the moon what a lot of old tosh

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Er pal, UEFA give £1m for group stages, also teams got £700k for playoff round, 3 home games, say 50,000 at £20 ticket
£3m less expenses (say £2m) then there is TV revenue, sponsors, advertising, match day sales programmes, catering, merchandise. You do the maths hail hail Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Timalloy this is taken from UEFA website:
Each team taking part this term will collect a 640,000 participation bonus together with a match bonus of 60,000 for every match played in the group stage. They can add to this total minimum amount of 1m through a series of performance-related rewards, starting with 140,000 per win and 70,000 per draw in their group games.

By way of example, if a side wins all six of their group fixtures they will earn a total of 1.84m from the competition by Christmas.
Thats some catering youve got at parkhead by the way!how much is a pie? plus i wouldnt expect 50,000 at your home games after you get pumped, the best fans in the world stayed away in their droves the last time you were in the europa league. Plus youve not taken into account the cost of policing, player bonuses( wouldnt worry about a win bonus though),staff costs etc, so ive done the math, turns out your talking sh*te! fail fail!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to add those figures were in Euros not pounds, plus since you like figures your attendance the last time you were in europa league your attendance dropped to 32,000 vs hapoel tel aviv, what happened to the best fans in the world? was it the day before giro day? am looking forward to di natalie ripping your defence to shreds, 4-0 udinese, easy!

Look heres the thing bears, if we can successfully keep edu and broadfoat away from that team sheet on saturday and replace it with quality i.e. perry , mckay bedoya .. and jelavic starts to bang in the goals then i think we will do ok this season its early on and although we havent played great we are still winning games we still have to find form which is promising .. the january transfer window is only 4 months or so away and hopefully this tax case is put to bed by then and whyte can try and fulfil his promise .. theres no doubt in my mind that the lack of spending all boils down to this tax case, after all why spend great somes of money if you dont know the outcome of this ? its business deal with it and stop the greeting its getting quite pathetic, and just gives septic and upper hand .. watp

tax man freezes rangers bank account surely if craig whyte has as much money as he led us to believe he would have paid this smaller amount then claim it back ffs if he does not have funds to meet this demand serious doubts have got to be raised about the big demand headed our way is this the way this lifelong fan craig whyte s words not mine has been planning all along to take us into administration and before everyone has a go at me why buy the club if you cant afford it in the first place and why fill the boardroom with property speculators the day must be coming when all the rangers supporters associations get together and stand up to this man while we still have something to salvage for inspiation check out an epic swindle by brian reade about how liverpool fans got organised and played a big part in ousting hicks and gillette {Ed001's Note - you can't just pay it and then claim it back, that would mean accepting the terms being imposed on the club by HMRC.}

USA game on 10 min in and Gers mentioned 3 times already. Shea is a player we should look at in Jan or next summer. Anyone surprised that Gers are mentioned as much as this? Whyte maybe pushing us more than people give him credit for. And stop saying he's broke cuz of the tax thing. Why should he pay the 1.8 late fee? I don't blame him for prior owners down falls and neither should you. WATP!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

You all seem to think you owe the taxman 2mill from what iv read its over 100mill hes taking your club to a dark place.the taxman at the door,out of europe and no new players!you should kick this clown out off you beloved gers before he kills you club.

Agree0 Disagree0

So if its £100m go out the game shaft the taxman and start again simples

Agree0 Disagree0

How could we POSSIBLY owe £100m! has scottish football ever had £100m worth of assets in it at anyone time let alone in rangers specifically?! I know the tax can accumulate with late fees, interest and such but i don't think the figure is anywhere above £50m. Plus, Whyte wouldn't have bought us if it meant losing £40 odd m so, i'm confident that we will make it through this tax case no danger. Muzz
