Really hope Barton plays a blinder next weekend and is the main man. Would love to see his reaction if he scored, would be tremendous. Still think if we turn up we win .

04 Sep 2016 09:48:32
If both teams turn up it should make for a great game. I would love a Rangers win but you can never really predict it.

03 Sep 2016 20:04:52
I'm still convinced Gilks should be in in front of Fod at the moment. He's far more vocal and commanding around the box which I think we are missing at set pieces. Don't get me wrong I still think Fod will developed into our first choice but at the moment he's not organising his CD'S enough.

03 Sep 2016 21:04:48
Totally agree blueshaun. Big wes frightens the life out of me.

03 Sep 2016 22:30:01
It's ideal there is serious competition for the jersey.

You have to admit though, there's no way Warburton is going to leave out Wes.

Same with McKay. He's a favourite of the manager and you'd have to say Keirnan is one of his fav's also.

Foderingham, Keirnan, McKay, Miller, Wallace, Tavernier and Forrester I'd say are all his preferred players. Maybe Andy as well. They will get a game no matter how things are going.

04 Sep 2016 00:00:16
The rangers team to start against celtic next week imo will be-
Foderingham
Tavernier, kiernan, senderos, wallace,
Barton
Forrester, rossiter
Waghorn, miller, mckay,
Thats the starting team I think warbs will go with, what do we think fellow bears?

04 Sep 2016 02:53:25
Strong possibility warbs will go with that line up.

04 Sep 2016 02:54:01
Although I think windlass will start.

04 Sep 2016 08:26:10
Would like to see

Gilks
Tav senderos wilson waldo
Barton Rossiter Windass
Waggy Garner Nico

Can't see it though I agree he has his favourites . Mckay hasn't earned his spot this year for me.

04 Sep 2016 10:02:27
Can't see waghorn starting not fit enough and we saw in cup final he isn't sort of player who can pull that off as his game is all pace and power.

04 Sep 2016 10:17:21
Blueshaun

You've picked 8 players with no previous old firm experience so I can't see him doing that.

04 Sep 2016 10:58:09
Think Halliday will start and forrester will play as part of front 3! Halliday will scrap for every ball and that is vital against them, reckon Warbs starts with Barton rossiter and Halliday to win the battle in midfield.

04 Sep 2016 11:39:50
I think you are probably right with that midfield and while you may be right that Halli day will scrap for every ball it does worry me. When they've played together so far they've lacked pace and invention and one thing Celtic have is pace. Windass would be my choice as it looks as though Holt won't be fit enough. Whoever plays though even though this is still early in the season and you only get three points for winning this matters, this really matters and every one who plays needs to understand that and plays like it (take heed Joey Barton in particular) . So-C'MON THE GERS!

04 Sep 2016 23:07:28
Holy will be ready.

05 Sep 2016 14:55:40
for me holt will be missed this game but windass looks like a good player. I wouldn't play rossiter and barton in at the same time unless we play 4.4.2.
which we wont.

03 Sep 2016 18:32:53
Anyone update us on injury front, will Wilson be fit for next week and why crooks or hodson never had a run out today?

03 Sep 2016 18:54:50
Hodgson might have been away on international duty bud, crooks probly not quite there yet for game time, no idea about Wilson I hope he is fit for Saturday.

03 Sep 2016 19:04:42
Crooks not sure about but hodson is with northern ireland squad.

04 Sep 2016 02:30:06
Yeah forgot bout hodson in NI squad jus thought crooks might have half 20 mins! So is Wilson going to be fit for old form or is it senderos and keirnan.

04 Sep 2016 10:18:50
I would doubt Crooks wouldn't have been deemed ready for a game against such low opposition. Only reason why I think he didn't play was that he has had a set back with his injury. Hope I'm wrong though.

04 Sep 2016 13:08:23
Crooks was ill.

03 Sep 2016 18:26:25
Anyone know how big Senderos got on today?

03 Sep 2016 19:00:57
Never saw the game but heard he was brilliant.

03 Sep 2016 18:55:16
Second that very curious to how he held up.

03 Sep 2016 19:35:37
Good stuff cheers mate, I've been hunting for highlights but zero luck.

04 Sep 2016 09:04:19
dazrfc86 highlights are on the bbc sport app the now mate.

04 Sep 2016 09:47:35
Really happy with the score. yes it was linfeild but you can only beat what's put in front of you
Heard there was afew good performances great to see garner coming back on to score more to come from him well done Kenny Miller and great to see windass back on the park and take a bow niko.

04 Sep 2016 09:59:40

03 Sep 2016 18:19:53
wonder if todays starting eleven is the line up against tic.

03 Sep 2016 20:12:33
Hope not deecee.

03 Sep 2016 20:19:39
MW leaving McKay out! I doubt it!

03 Sep 2016 21:49:42
Wallace will b back aswell.

03 Sep 2016 17:03:23
Anyone think we should try and snap up Callum Paterson from Hearts on a pre-contract in January.

03 Sep 2016 17:51:51
Wasn't impressed last week. Partick winger turned him inside out a few times. Looks slow, but took his goal well (almost like centre half LOL! )

03 Sep 2016 18:57:14
I would take him decent enough player still young and on a free what have you to lose, although hearts would be due a fee for compensation because it's not cross border not sure how much but a decent shout.

03 Sep 2016 15:04:22
wow! miller kiernan and kranjcar all scoring? what is warbs doing? all our crap players huh? oh and garner he could only score 1! get a grip lads!

03 Sep 2016 16:00:09
Havnt a clue what that post is about.

03 Sep 2016 17:09:01
Mate we are playing linfield not Barcelona still decent result tho hopefully give the boys a we bit confidence for next week.

03 Sep 2016 17:19:11
to explain hooly every week so call gers fans are posting that miller is past it kiernan is crap . and so on i am so glad that today they showed what they can and will do in the future i for one believe we will do it this season just wait and see ( and before anyone says it i know it was linfield but remember the imps! )

03 Sep 2016 17:20:14
Garner came off at 8 minutes with a bad cut. He got stitched up and came back on around 70 minutes.

03 Sep 2016 16:31:56
7-0 v Linfield.

03 Sep 2016 17:28:59
Good score today, by all accounts we played very well, also great to see kenny score 4 goals.

03 Sep 2016 18:15:29
Yes it was a good score today and can only install confidence for next week's big game. The general feeling was that we fear the worst against Celtic, but I think we should be positive now and priced at 4-1, that's surly worth a tenner!

03 Sep 2016 21:43:37
I'm a linfied fan. I wouldn't be going overboard there are a part time team mate.

03 Sep 2016 13:18:17
Garner injured now. Not having much luck on that front.

03 Sep 2016 14:32:11
Cut to head, came back on 2nd half.

03 Sep 2016 14:40:37
He's back on now mate, was just a head knock!

03 Sep 2016 15:10:30
7-0 bears. something similar same time nxt week 🙏😂🔴⚪️🔵.

03 Sep 2016 13:46:14
Said it from the start of the season the light blue and white kit is beautiful, first time seeing it and wow nicest kit I've seen in years.

03 Sep 2016 14:19:51
I like the red and white one. A wee throw back to one of my favorite kits. Pity I can't buy it : (

03 Sep 2016 17:04:53
Bluebells very similar to the ntl away on season 99 I'm sure it was. Loved that kit as well but aye pity it won't be bought it's a cracker.

04 Sep 2016 09:14:22
I'm really frustrated at not buying the Rangers tops as it is our right to have them on our backs but I agree with the reasons not to buy them wholeheartedly, but I have found my alternative, the linfield 2015/ 16 away top for £23!

not a fan of wearing other teams tops at ibrox but it's our brothers across the water and would rather give them my money than cashley!

03 Sep 2016 10:51:01
I don't understand all the negativity for DK. He's taken control of the club, he is trying to take care of the disease that is Ashley, he gives us the fans a fairly good understanding of what's happening (I liked the Question and Answer) and for those saying he doesn't spend any money imagine the wage cost from the team we have. MW and DW signed new contracts and Garner cost 1.7mil.

03 Sep 2016 11:11:21
Don't know how many clubs fans are satisfied with the board and Chairman to be fair.

That's how it's supposed to work. Some will always be wary of the board and the fans have every right to, and with our extremely unique situation, who can blame the fans for questioning those at the top.

I don't really follow other English teams but I'd imagine even at Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham, the man at the top has a love, hate relationship with many of the fans.

Our board however been outstanding. They have backed us with wages for outstanding players we never thought we'd see at Ibrox again, a positive and forward thinking management team, backed the club with transfer fees and they have improved the club in every aspect.

03 Sep 2016 13:06:07
I think some fans type before they think. King and the board have done a remarkable job and deserve every bit of our support. Fair point to the later post about other clubs but I think a lot of mistrust in their cases is at foreign ownership and motives. Our board is entirely made up as Rangers supporters first and investors second.

03 Sep 2016 15:25:00
People seem to forget that Dave king was on the board that led us to liquidation and did or said nothing. He was also on the board when we stopped paying NI and PAYE, which led to HMRC issuing us with a winding up order.

Now add to that his broken promises (or lies) .

1. I'll provide a 30 million war chest.
2. I'll use my kids inheritance.
3. I'll keep us on the AIM stock market.
4. I have a NOMAD lined up.
5. We don't have any third party debt.
6. I will make sure everything is transparent when I take over.
7. Our finances are the envy of most clubs.
8. We will over invest.

I could go on all day with his countless lies.

If you want to put your trust in a known liar then that is your choice. The only reason I am backing him is we have no choice but to do so.

03 Sep 2016 16:49:43
100% agree bosshogg spot on post. lie after lie can't wait for the january statement were we'll not be spending in this window but we will in the summer we've struggled against the cannon fodder of the league so far if we lose nxt wk and celtic win there game in hand we'll be 7 points behind after 6 games.

i'm not naive enough to say he's spent no money but after the exodus of players it freed up a lot of wages to get the players in that replaced them we were promised a warchest to compete yet in terms of were we need to be we are not even close I could accept this to an extent if DK said we didn't have cash to spend but he talks about war chests and competing financially with celtic then back tracks its not good enough if there's no cash then say there is none instead.

MW is left to get players such as senderos to strenghen our weakest area when we all know if there was cash he would be no where near ibrox mayby if he wasnt a rangers man more fans would be questioning him.

03 Sep 2016 16:54:37
dave king was never on the board as such, he had no power at the club it was all Murray, bain and Alistair Johnson. dave king gave the club 20 million pounds of his own money years ago and now is trying his best to turn our club back to what we were and is doing a fine good job.
most of they promises he didn't even say, makes you wonder why he even bothers with the way some fans behave.

03 Sep 2016 17:26:11
Tomtom, is that purely based on DK being a rangers man? Because if he wasnt and we had been fed all these lies would you still regard him as a "god"

03 Sep 2016 18:59:08
He made everyone of those comments and if this site allowed links I would happily show you the evidence. With regards to Dave king being on the board you are wrong if you claim he wasn't, so stop trying to revise history. With regards to his 20 million investment, he received every penny of that back so he didn't invest a penny. Even the meagre amount he has put in recently is a loan, so again still one of that 30 million he promised. The man is a proven liar.

03 Sep 2016 19:27:01
For someone who has done no harm to the club and put the interests of the fans at the top of the agenda, these are stinging words. He didn't get a penny back and that's well documented.

03 Sep 2016 19:43:11
bosshogg spot on again its soft loans that are keeping the lights on, loans from investors with no face or name the sort of loans tho admittingly no fault of king that ley guys like mike ashley invest he's lied constantly but becoz he's rangers man people are being blind for gods sake he's calling in free labour to refurbish our stadium he hasn't spent a penny players brought in on big wages subsidises players that have left and increased revenue. through promotion and before anyone mentiones garner 1.7 is not upfront if we had any cash we would have spent it but instead its free transfers from accrington stanley whem we were promised 30m to. compete with celtic if the cash ain't there be honest and as for that Q&A it was a joke every question was scripted in advanced and statements preprepared.

04 Sep 2016 00:31:55
What a bad load of crap you guys are talking about King he said he would spend his money on the team how did we pay wages how do we sign players free or not they still have to be paid wages, the upkeep of the stadium who pays for that season ticket sales are only financing our debt get real here guys we are far from trading on a level basis yet but without King where would we be onwards and upwards have faith

03 Sep 2016 02:26:47
Want to bring up a different subject. Been reading on how German clubs are run. It is law that football clubs must have 50% fan base ownership, Bayern Munich has a fan base of 250,000. If Rangers followed a similar system, and if we had a worldwide fan base of 150,000 with each member paying say £5 per week x 52 that would generate 39,000,000 per year. If directors were able to get quality investors, more money for the club to invest in a top class youth system. On top of that season tickets could be reduced Bayern season ticket holders pay around £105 per season. As long as we had the right people running the club we could have money at the club little need for transfer money as the youth players would be the ones for the future. You don't hear of Bayern spending millions every tranfer window on players.
Thoughts from fellow bears.

{Ed001's Note - you might not hear of it but Bayern are hated in Germany (and known as FC Hollywood there) because they consistently spend large sums on players, usually in a similar way to the Old Firm's modus operandis in Scotland. I mean in the old days when the pair of you would between take any player that looked any good off every other team in Scotland and so never gave them any chance of breaking your duopoly. Bayern do a similar thing in Germany, which has left them miles ahead of the rest. They did it this summer too, buying Dortmund's Hummels.}

03 Sep 2016 05:47:15
Bayern spent what €40 plus million on Renato Sanches, a 18 yo from Benfica, €35 mill on Hummels plus the rest. Come on of course they spend a lot of money. However I get the point you're making. Any fresh investment going forward is a must.

03 Sep 2016 07:52:41
50% fan ownership seems good in theory but we would get nothing done but argue as you can see on here some of the wild arsed views and hatred to our team would see conflict of views players being sacked daily until no one would go near us the experts on here would make Vladimir romanov look like the Dalai lama sometimes the only way forward is to have one or just a few to make a definitive decision even if you personally don't agree it is the only way to move forward rather than fighting over one issue for an eternity.

03 Sep 2016 00:34:18
Lee wallace take a bow then take another and another. left out scotland fold for so long then wee chesney calls him up after celtic pull there players. do t get yourself associated with the bunch loser call scotland sqaud or even scotland management. wee chesney obviosly got it in for certain players wallace being one an mcormack the other. ooh wait both rangers men. chesney out.

03 Sep 2016 01:03:21
Strachan is a wee shaft.

03 Sep 2016 05:51:23
Andy you're right mate one of my best pals is Ross' 2nd cousin grew up one of them but was delighted to pull on a light blue jersey. Cracking player as well. Strachan says guys like him and Rhodes don't fit his system. well change the system to accommodate them because this system Chesney is using clearly hasn't been working. That's almost £30mill worth of strikers there scoring goals season in and out at a good level but he continues to pick Fletcher. Beggars belief mate.

03 Sep 2016 09:00:28
You should apply for the Scotland job since you care so much. rhodes can't get a game for Middlesborough and mccormack is decent and will probably make the next squad. tierney best left back we have and then Robertson so Wallace won't be missed either.

03 Sep 2016 11:25:43
Tierney shouldn't make the squad is nowhere near the level of Robertson or shinnie or even forsyth get your green tinted specs off.

03 Sep 2016 12:25:49
Rubbish you've clearly not seen him and get yer blue tinted specks off.

03 Sep 2016 13:45:39
I'd do a better job than Strachan anyway Mally.

03 Sep 2016 13:24:07
Wee Gordon's a varooka on the nations foot and a arigont wee weasel he's a repubate bad spelling but u catch ma drift.

03 Sep 2016 14:26:22
Hahaha Clint Hill is better than Forsyth what a load of nonsense Cee lol.

03 Sep 2016 14:37:37
Agree with you strachan is a disgrace for the life of me a can't understand why Chris Martin s fletcher gets in the squad ahead of Rhodes McCormack and Maloney thought strikers got picked on goal scoring form many goals has fletcher scored in the last 3 season you'll be lucky if he's hit double figures goi g to be another long campaign with the usual outcome.

03 Sep 2016 16:56:26
I've seen him loads, I personally know kieran Tierney and have seen him play from a young age right now he's not good enough for Scotland he's not good enough as a footballer or smart enough yet. graeme shinnie is by far the best left back in Scotland.

03 Sep 2016 20:36:21
Bollocks the bhoy will be world class if he keeps progressing.

04 Sep 2016 14:52:47
You clearly don't have a clue Robertson and Tierney are both easily much better LBs than Shinnie (who is a good player also)

03 Sep 2016 00:05:28
Id play gilks and fod v celtic only way we gona win cause our goal going to get battered unfortunatly. so hope i'm wrong.

03 Sep 2016 11:44:38
That's the spirit.

03 Sep 2016 13:43:04
Davie, can't believe you think we'll need two keepers next week. That lot trounced a Motherwell team who were poor on the night, caught Hearts with a sucker punch. More importantly however got hosted by a team from Gibraltar and were lucky not to lose a three goal margin to a team from that footballing super-power Israel.

I for one am not bothered about them from the East and believe that a half decent performance is all that's required next Saturday. The Tic are far from world beaters so let them worry about us instead of the other way around.

03 Sep 2016 13:59:24
Hope the players aren't as negative as you.

03 Sep 2016 00:22:30
What will these youngsters do when their contracts are up (the good ones I mean)?
Will they trip off to England and all we get is a development fee?
I do not see the SPL being a sufficient enough attraction.
Can we tie them up on a longer deal when they are 18?

02 Sep 2016 23:51:07
Sol Bamba released from Leeds
Another freebie?

02 Sep 2016 23:35:00
With all he players that left at the start of the season surely it freed up a lot of wages to sign the players that came in on free transfers? So if that's true we must be running a hell of a loss atm.

King promised us money would be available in January last year to buy premiership quality players never happened. Starting to doubt King more and more he also said we would have a team to challange Celtic. hasn't happened after Celtics poor season last year I thought we would have been much closer to them. we could have spent 4-5 mill on transfer to give ourself that top team again but never happened.

ok people will say King has turned us round fair play he has but on lies we need investment king and co said they had it but clear to see we don't struggled to get moh never mind players to compete in Europe.

03 Sep 2016 00:42:30
Boabt78, How much closer could we get? we are sitting right behind them, we have yet to play them, the season has barely started, maybe you think charlie bhoy was the better option?

03 Sep 2016 05:55:18
Boab Warbs has said before that if he sees a player who will add value on and off the park he will approach the board. Warbs obviously feels the players he recruited are of a good enough standard. He has went to King and whatever money has been granted. Hardly Daves fault he isn't in charge of player recruitment. 11 new bodies in its only the start of the season have a word pal we will come good.

03 Sep 2016 09:18:48
We've spent about 4-5 million, i'd say even more closer to 6-7.

Honestly the fans that say we've spent nothing are just being daft.

Free transfers aren't free at all, you pay a sign on fee to the player, agent fees usually, then you have wages and bonus' in contracts this all costs money.

We've paid money for players too, garner, dodoo, rossiter, crooks and windass.

So your point is invalid and i'd really wish people would stop saying we haven't spent any money. We've put a good lot in to see if we can mount a challenge, 4 games in is hardly the tale of the season.

03 Sep 2016 11:27:33
see if ohalloran, Barton, kranjcar, garner, senderos etc. aren't seem as premiership quality players to you I would hate to think what you do actually think is.

03 Sep 2016 11:36:43
Guy, we need to be careful here's or we're going to win the "thickest football fans in Scotland" trophy.

Opinions are great but at least have a sniff at the facts before slagging off the board, the team, the manager and the players.

Would love to see a few more tabs on here listing all the negative predictions, positive predictions etc so we can all be ridiculed which ever way it goes.
