Bloody annoys me but if we were a bit more consistent this season and didn't drop silly points we could have gone very close to picking up the league this year as Celtic keep dropping them points . If we can get a solid quick cb in the summer we will be winning that league next year also in need of a stronger manager who can change a game a like Murty but he's not what we need.

04 Apr 2018 21:48:33
RIP Ray Wilkins. Another great taken to early 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

06 Apr 2018 11:26:00
Solid, quick CB as you say scares me as would rather have well thought out CB who could play for club for many years. Over to you Mr Murty.

04 Apr 2018 16:30:36
a really sad day, Ray Wilkins was a class act. I remember being at Ibrox for his last game where he walked off to a standing ovation and you could tell he was upset to have played his last game. It brought a tear to my eye back then as he was a great player.

04 Apr 2018 21:22:08
Remember it well Djab! It was a very foggy day and against dunfermline at ibrox! I'm certain we won 4-0 and ray was emotional at the end of the game, as it was his last game at ibrox! Had the privilege of meeting him and was a total gentleman! Ray 'butch' wilkins gave me a lot of very happy memories, during his 2 years playing for rangers! Great man,
superb midfielder, who had time for everyone and everyone had time for him! Will always be remembered as part of the glasgow rangers family forever! God, his goal when we beat celtic 5-1 at ibrox was scored up the other end from where i was sitting in the copland, but my view of it was still good and what a goal! My heartfelt condolences goes out to all ray's family and close friends! God bless you all and ray will be so very sadly missed by all!
RAY 'BUTCH' WILKINS taken far too early, GOD BLESS YOU SIR! RIP RAY! You will never be forgotten and your memory will always live on at ibrox and in our hearts forever!

04 Apr 2018 21:43:33
Supercoops - I thought his final game was against Hearts? Maybe I'm wrong but I do remember him walking off in tears to an absolutely tumultuous reception st Ibrox that day. The guy was just pure class, both as a player and a man

04 Apr 2018 21:47:17
Sorry Supercopoer, I should have known You'd be right. Just googled it and it was Dunfermline! RIP Ray Wilkins

04 Apr 2018 14:20:42
R I P Ray Wilkins.

04 Apr 2018 14:16:53
R. I. P Ray Wilkins. great player and great guy. so sad.

04 Apr 2018 13:27:35
I hate to compare with other teams but the facts are good managers make better teams. Eg Killie, smeltic, Jack Ross st mirren, Guardiola (wherever he's went) list goes on. I don't feel Murty has done that with our team as the results and points dropped speak for themselves. Therefore Murty doesn't get my vote and I blame board as they're skint and went for cheap option.

04 Apr 2018 13:50:55
Thats it good managers get average players to play well consistantly. Can you honestly say our players are playing for murty?

04 Apr 2018 13:03:59
So bears have you all ordered the GREEN boots that your club's OFFICIAL twitter page recommended you all buy?

04 Apr 2018 14:18:49
So you even check rangers official Twitter pages as well timalloy u are a dedicated supporter all about the rangers 😁

04 Apr 2018 14:21:33
Glad to see you’re following us on Twitter

04 Apr 2018 10:33:04
What's everybody's thoughts on a potential 4th place finish? Even if we were to win Scottish cup I believe Murty is not the man to take us forward, problem we have is we can't afford a decent manager and unless we find some fight between now and end of season it's going to get worse.

04 Apr 2018 12:05:53
For me its time for this board to wakeing up there failure to get a new manager in place when pedro left could end up costing us european qualification this summer.
Murty will definately not get the job in the summer and i think he already nos he will not be in charge.
We have to aim higher than a youth coach or any manager currently in scottish leauge get this decsion wrong then we are in big trouble.
If we can afford to give pena herrera alves kranjcar all high wages then they should be shipped out and use the wage for a new manager

04 Apr 2018 12:24:30
You can see from the posts that lots of us are feeling down after taking 1 point out of 9. I wasn't alone in thinking we were in a title race if we beat Celtic and although I got the usual abuse of being delusional by the expected here, we were building momentum and playing good football. Now maybe too much despondency in the other direction. McCrorie's back and a chance for someone to take Windass's position, maybe Cummings, Goss gets his form back after the Celtic no show and who knows, we start producing performances again and clinch second place. One thing I agree on is that there needs to be a clear out of around 10 players this summer. Either past it or just not good enough to play for Rangers.

04 Apr 2018 13:24:52
Don't know why Rangers aren't playing Kenny Miller aye morelos is our top goal scorer but Miller carried us last season and he's definitely still our best striker in the club.

04 Apr 2018 13:29:25
Kfraser there is to many ifs and buts in this statement we clearly have not been good enough recently and waiting on goss morelos ect to hit form mite not happen same with someone taking windass postion like cummings they mite not play well either.
to be honest i think we are now going to strugle to finish 2 we are more than likeley to drop more points once split comes around just can't see us winning our remaining games of season

04 Apr 2018 17:32:13
The Pedro debacle has wasted at least a year, I would not be disappointed if they considered the likes of Stevie Clarke and having Jack Ross as his number 2 with a view to him being the manager in a couple of years. I know Mr Ross is a manager but maybe the chance to get the reins at Ibrox would be a big enough carrot.

04 Apr 2018 10:29:12
After the split, it looks as if we'll play Hibs and Hearts at home and Celtic, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock away, if things stay as they are with the top six. Maybe we've a better chance winning the three away games than the home games, but we must win them all! I see Lemon face has already moaned about the prospect of Hibs travelling to Ibrox for the third time this season.

04 Apr 2018 10:36:46
These days playing at home works against our team of bottle crashers.

04 Apr 2018 10:42:12
And I am sure you or your manager would not be moaning if you had to visit Parkhead 3 times in a season.

04 Apr 2018 12:07:13
I moan if we have to visit the midden heap even once a year!

04 Apr 2018 15:11:57
@RaW - You know full well it’s written in stone that the Old Firm always get 2 home and 2 away against each other. The smaller teams just have to live with it.

04 Apr 2018 23:33:15
A fourth placed finish would be utterly derisory and a very bad reflection on Murtys managerial acumen. Given his transfer activity to date and current players available to him we should be running away with second. Instead we are fighting it out with Dundee, Killie et al. Fun reading.

04 Apr 2018 10:22:53
Murty remit for the job was to get 2 in the leauge and chances of this are getting slimmer per game and we are now in danger of not even getting 3 meaning no europe next season.
this is critical for our club and we are now in danger of losing out on this this

04 Apr 2018 10:43:40
Rangers are still on coarse for second and have it in their own hands at the moment. However, it will not be easy as it is a close race for second.

My money is on Hibs for second by the way.

04 Apr 2018 10:59:52
So many fans drained of all hope. Remember the dark days in division 3. All the terrible football we had to endure to get back to the top table. For what! To watch us get panned off kilmarnock, hibs, hamilton, dundee, smeltic and motherwell. I won't be renewing my season ticket until we get a proper manager at the helm. Utter shambles.

04 Apr 2018 11:42:07
My money is on your totally obsessed with glasgow rangers, rodgers at work! I bet you watch all our glory dvds of years gone by, with, wait for it, YOUR RANGERS PJ'S ON!

04 Apr 2018 14:32:45
Aye glory days gone by Coop like last week lol. don't need to go back too long for a bit of glory. Can you say the same?

And just to point out RAW was giving you too much credit as second is no longer in your own hands HH

04 Apr 2018 10:20:54
Players i would let go/ sell in the summer.
Foderingham
Alnwick
Alves
Martin
Cordosa
Hodson
Wallace
Rossiter
Goss
Holt
Windass
Ohalloran
Dodoo
Cummings
Miller
Herrera
Pena

I may have missed a few out but I really beleive all these players are not good enough anymore. I have an argument for anyone of them not being good enough. Mark allen will need to be a busy man in the summer to get rid of this deadwood.

04 Apr 2018 10:44:53
The problem is, no one would want to buy any of them, with the exception of maybe Windass, who you could get 500K for.

04 Apr 2018 11:46:32
Don't agree with you RfcChris! I certainly WOULDN'T be letting jason holt, lee wallace, wes foderingham or
jason cummings go! Just my opinion mate!

04 Apr 2018 12:11:54
That's some list rfcchris! Suddenly Goss is a nobody yet before he was a superstar in the making! I'd definitely keep Rossiter (subject to injury), Holt, Cummings and Foderingham plus blood two or three more youngsters. With regard to this weekend's matches, Hibs are away at Ross County who just scored a 4-0 win over Partick Thistle and are fighting to avoid relegation. Could be a shock win for County. With Aberdeen away to Hearts and us home to Dundee, the picture for 2nd place might suddenly turn around again. Let's hope so!

04 Apr 2018 12:41:44
“ no one would want to buy any of them “ hahaha what a load of sh*t your talking and I’m glad you aren’t responsible for making business decisions on player recruitment and current player market values

04 Apr 2018 14:15:26
RfcChris. I had a similar list.

I would let go with what i'd happily take for them (tbh anything would be good)
Alnwick - 0.25k
Hodson - 0.25k
Beerman - out of contract
Wallace - 0.5k
Alves - 0.5k
Goss - Return to Club
Halliday - 0.5k
Holt - 0.5k
Pena -?
Forrester 0.5k
Dalcio - Return to Club
Thompson - out of contract
Dodoo - 0.5k
Herrera - 0.5k
O'Halleron - 0.5k
Miller - out of contract
Martin - Return to Club
Rossiter - 0.5k (unsure on this one tho, as may have a point to prove)

Id try and bring in

Bates - new contract
Hardie - new contract
Cadden - Motherwell
Taylor - Kilmarnock
Souttar - Hearts
McKenna - Aberdeen
Murphy - Brightons
Cummings - Not Forrest
McBurnie - Swansea

Promote from our youth
Kelly - Gk
McCrorie - Gk
Barjonas - Mid
Kelly - Mid
Burt - Mid
Middleton - Wing
Atakayi - Wing

And we def need a creative midfielder from somewhere.

Just a wish list from me. we need to cut costs and get guys that know the league and can defend a long ball.

With regards to Manager. I'd still keep Murty. he's cutting his teeth and will be more prepared next season. He also knows the youth and can bleed them in properly in preseason for stepping up.

04 Apr 2018 14:34:36
Aye cause your mob have that to a tee!? lolll

04 Apr 2018 10:05:26
Right bears, the question is who do you think will be appointed as the manager at the end of the season?

Not who you would like, but who do you think the board will choose? (I'm not even confident that they know who they want if i'm honest) .

If Rangers finish 3rd or 4th, they really are going to have to pull something out of the bag if they want season tickets to continue the way they did last season.

04 Apr 2018 10:46:15
I think the best you can hope for would be Jack Ross and he would need to be given time to develop players.

It will likely be Tommy Wright though.

04 Apr 2018 11:01:48
I think we might go in for Deek mcinnes again but give him the summer to bring in his players.

04 Apr 2018 11:34:49
Neil Warnock. championship manager of the year and he’d love to manage us. Great experience and would be a massive success. He improves players and gets results, he’s exactly what we need!

04 Apr 2018 09:45:33
I said on here not long ago we can't judge murty till the end of season. Now come Saturday if we were to lose I will retract that statement. Killie, Celtic, Aberdeen and Hibs are finishing strong now. If we were to lose and hibs and aberdeen win. I just can't see us catching them.
Now in that scenario I don't think anything will actually change at the club. We can't rush in to get a manager if the best man for the job isn't there. I can't see anyone with the needed awareness to come in to just finish the season for us.
So where do we go from here?
I can't help but thank King for getting us out of the clutches of some of the worst men to set foot through our door, but on the other hand. The boards view of greatness on the managers they have brought into our club and the insane funds given to untested managers is criminal. Is it time for King and the board to look for someone to take there place. I'am not sure but I think if King and co were to get there soft loans back tomorrow they would be more than happy to pass over the pressure to someone new.
How long has this great club been given unfit managers, I mean how many caretakers can a club go through?! Unfit players costing insane amounts of money.
This is a club that when a great manager leaves to pastures new an even better manager should come in. Strive for greatness don't sit there twiddling your thumbs looking at the Qatari Premier League. There were managers sitting in Britain waiting for the call, managers that knew what Rangers were and what would be expected. Instead we now find ourselves with an under 20 manager who to be fair has punched, for a while, above his pedigree and if he can't find something on saturday then no matter if the routs celtic and wins the cup. I still can't see him staying.
I still firmly believe the players we have with a great manager could win the league, but we don't have a great manager we haven't had one since Sir Walter left 7 bloody years ago. Sell the stragglers at the club and put that money towards getting in the best manager you can afford.

04 Apr 2018 10:10:09
I think the team we have are better than the results we have had but challenge Celtic not at this point our defence is shocking we score goals but we can not stop goals and we won’t challenge till we sort that defences out and our midfield need to be stronger Brown strutted about bullying us Goss is a talented player but lacks dig we are missing Jack in there and last but not least a manager

04 Apr 2018 10:29:09
Going by form we will finish 4th . I tend to agree we have players that can do the job. But the starting 11 have no fear of being dropped as murty seemed to believe if your bad then you get next game to improve or stay on the park and make amends . This clearly is not working as players know they will get a start . He clearly has his favourites and won't drop them no matter what which is killing our chances . a few weeks ago after Cummings scores hatrick . he says he now knows where to play him yet the following games he plays him up front on his own. Unless he has a quick realisation that he needs to rotate the team and set up week in week out we could be screwed.

04 Apr 2018 10:54:09
Oh for an experienced, passionate, 100% no nonsense manager -- for example Neil Warnock

Review Of The Day 4th April 2018

04 Apr 2018 06:54:39
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 4th April 2018

04 Apr 2018 01:43:02
First post, although been reading for many months. Wouldn't discount Warnock, good at getting teams to punch above, rangers daft and might want to go out on a high at Cardiff before probably losing most games next-season.

04 Apr 2018 07:06:38
agree nagasak i’d take warnock

proper experienced manager with decent pedigree from EPL who would set us up and have us well drilled and fighting for the jersey

04 Apr 2018 08:52:12
The reality is you will get someone like Tommy Wright as that is the market you are shopping in.

03 Apr 2018 23:18:41
I'd start cummings against the unwashed and drop morelos, or play morelos in the 10 position rather than windass.

04 Apr 2018 08:29:07
Cumming? Why would you start with him he isn't strong enough we will play one up front and it has to be Morelos he is strong he is great at holding the ball up and bringing the team up the park, I just can't see what all the fuss is about Cummings he's an average player the only time he has played well was with Hibs in the championship at a lower level, he went to forest and failed he has came here and again struggled we need to win all our games and he will not lead the line
