well done charles green, good to see somebody at last who wont let people walk over rangers, long over due !!

So how many of you clowns signed that stupid petition? That's that out the window now the appeal is on, don't mess with the government. hee hee

Believable11 Unbelievable12

The petition is about investigating the leaks to the BBC and RTC - how does an appeal change that - how small do you feel ?

I know this is a long shot, but what IF "The Rangers" make it back into the SPL (or whatever it may be called at that specific time) in the future... will away your supporters travel to away games after todays decision?
no parkhead, no tynecastle, no pittodrie and such. no more away days altogether.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

You don't get it, why it's quite simple. This mob were the worst when it came to how they treat us, they have ripped us off for years. They get no more of our money.

Nothing to do with most of the rest. And if we boycotted them all that would be about right. We are fed up getting shafted, we are fed up being told we are cheats by sanctimonious people like Thomson.

We are hurting, get it.

Agree9 Disagree4

Oldco never paid dundee utd half the gate money for last season.so if the tie was at ibrox do you think the dundee utd fans would stage a boycott.i dont think so because they have more class, wouldnt you agree.the biggest problem from the outside looking in,is wheather its oldco or newco the fans dont want to witness dundee utd beat your team 3 years out of the last 4 years in the scottish cup.end off.

Agree6 Disagree6

It's not a question of class mate, Utd are a bag of sh*te anaw. They just wouldn't let they're team go unsupported. End of. Respect to them for it aswell.

Agree2 Disagree3

Would you really notice if the Dundee Utd fans did boycott Ibrox? Their away support isn't exactly the best. Some of the travelling utd support has been shocking in recent seasons

Agree3 Disagree1

@2 thats the first time I've heard class and dundee put in same sentence, you clearly havnt been in the city of dundee for a game.

Surely DM must now abort defending this EBT tax case and concede defeat? Surely the FTTT was his last roll of the dice?
Surely the legal costs are huge? Surely LLOYD'S whom we are told run his business due to heavy indebtedness, must advise him to drop it? Surely only oldco being liquidated are liable? Surely he's not getting the results he's paying for?
Why does he continue to defend an oldco in liquidation at such cost? Good money after bad.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Because he wants to prove his innocence. Which as it stands he is. You must be wondering instead why hmrc is wasting more taxpayers money chasing a company with no money left as it is liquidated. Surely this is a waste of time and money? Surely you arent actually interested in tthos case? Surely you would defend yourself just as much as murray is of you knew you were innocent and had already proven it in a court of law

Agree10 Disagree8

EBTs were a board decision not SDMs alone. It's not all his fault. Probably more so the finance director accountability.

Agree5 Disagree5

2) ... SDM picked the board, SDM picked the EBT scheme (from a pornographer no less, struck off for financial management), SDM MIH ran the scheme...

its his fault alright, wake up!

Agree4 Disagree2

Aye and the result of the case was, no case to answer. They were paid as loans. So jog on timmy!

hmrc are going appeal they are well in truly wasting our tax money when they should be chasing the like of starbucks amazon google ect

Believable15 Unbelievable6

Keep up OP, they are.
Al

Agree6 Disagree2

I for one dont think that hmrc are pursuing rangers or mih with this new appeal, it would appear that they are appealling on a "point of law" whatever the f*** that means. Even if they win they aint getting any money out of us so it follows that they must have bigger fish to fry and we are just caught up in the legal games being played by hmrc. But frankly we just just ignore the whole thing as it no longer has anything to do with us, sdm was about to start sueing all and sundry no comment from cg so why the hell are we bothered.jaz.rtid

Man City nearly matched the British record for lowest points total in the Champions League, emphasis on NEARLY. That accolade still sits with the now defunct Rangers whom finished with 2 points in the 2009/2010 season.

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Isnt it sad that with only 2 points accumulated we were still by far the best team in scottish football at that time - hence why we were in the championa league :)

Agree15 Disagree7

Wrong, Dynamo Zagreb only got 1 point and only 1 goal, a last minute penalty tonight so that is the worst (and I'm a tic man). The oldco Gers were pretty awful though, lol.....martyc1888

Agree1 Disagree3

Marty if we were awful that season what were you's? Think you lost 4-0 to st mirren and lost to Ross county in a semi final at hampden.

Interesting article by James Traynor. He appears to be intimating that he knows who these people are by suggesting they are using different names. Shame he didn't see fit to expose them. Who are the people behind the RTC for example, from whom and where did they get their information and what was their agenda?,as if we didn't know. There should be a relentless pursuit to raggle these people out.
P.O.B.

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Shoot the messenger....? nah

what about owner and directors... they should be accountable first, this bdo's job remember.

without release of info we would still think murrary had not taken a penny from rangers.... not one director (even j grieg) to say he should not say that......

do you want green held to account, or allowed to run wild.... easy choice. make it and stick to it, but dont greet if you make a poor choice, again.

The people behind rtc website should be prosecuted for slander as what they posted online was total lies.

As for murray receiving money, how much was john reid paid and how much does perer lawell earn ?

Then he tell us we will make a loss of £3.5m this season and that with 2 years worth of season book money, what about year 2 mr green-sorry guys but these question need asked and answered we cant be kept in the dark this time think back to murray (he owned the press) and whyte (remember wealth off the radar rubbish) get our heads out the sand this time guys

I'm disgusted at this news that we are not taking tickets for the Dundee utd match, this is not acceptable! 1.we are only creating enemies within our game.2.the Dundee utd board only had issues with the oldco not Charles green etc.3.its going to be heck of an embarrassing if we take the 40% of gate money.i am a real supporter and I wanted to go and watch my team play and try get a result but now with the help of the big mouths I am unable to do that.honestly I believe that by making this decision we are out the cup!boycotts.....unbelievable its a bloody game of football,im ashamed!

Believable18 Unbelievable13

Now there is talk of picket lines - ridiculous

Agree9 Disagree3

I thought the lows were mostly over but this is an all time low. Charles Green has said it's a board decision which means Walter Smith agrees with it. Never thought I'd see the day. The loud mouths now control the board. The board are in a weak financial position, need fans money, need to keep onside with rst and assembly. we need to be declared a new club dump all this bad legacy nonsense. This was a moment where intelligent leadership at ibrox was needed and we got non leadership only pandering to the masses.

Agree11 Disagree11

You should be ashamed, this club have ripped us off for years, they were callous in our hour of need, they not only put the knife in, they twisted it. Go to the game but be aware that the seat you are sitting in will be sold the following week to the fan of another SPL club at £12 less.

Not only should we not go we should never set foot in that ground again. You say you can't go, what is stopping you, there will be plenty tickets available.

Hi Ed to get back to the football , can anyone explain to me why the match officals and the Elgin City goal keeper had the same colour of tops on.I always thought the keeper was told to change his if their was a clash of colour

Agree2 Disagree1

1) we are only creating enemies, I have heard it all now, because United have backed us during our troubles, their chairman detests us until he gets a pay day.

2) no issues with newco - they had enough issues to lambast newco, you have a short memory or can't read

3) hope we do take 40%, that may make up for the overinflated ticket prices that we have suffered. £12 more for my ticket lady year than a St Johnstone fan pays for the same ticket.

It's far more than a game of football, do you realise we are in div three. Not because of football!

Agree3 Disagree9

Waken up. The issue is with their intense jealousy of the Glasgow Rangers management, team, fans and most importantly the success of our team.

Agree5 Disagree7

Why are you disgusted dundee utd voted rangers out the spl Eddie Thompson is a rat he took nearly double money that time the game was called off so get your head out the sand time to get real no spl grounds in the future for me who voted us down we are the money makers in Scottish football everyone else will go down just a matter of time wait in see my friend

Agree3 Disagree4

@1: how can there be? It's not industrial action lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Me thinks the original poster is from the dark side.

Agree2 Disagree3

"you should be ashamed" why should a true supporter be ashamed to want to support his team.you should be trying to build bridges after what the oldco done.you still cant except you were the bad guys.this publicity will be bad publicity and will bring even more shame and even more embarrassment to the true supporters.to say they should be ashamed is out of order, you are the one who should be ashamed.

Agree2 Disagree4

Well sad OP. After all you fans have had to put up wth over the past year surely it would be amazing to go an cheer your team on to victory against a team that you think didn't want you and now Chico has denied you of this opportunity. Embarrassing for your club....martyc1888

Agree4 Disagree4

@11. 'Embarrassing for your club' seems to be the new mantra from 'tic fans. It appears to have taken over the 'Sporting Integrity' phrase that was banded about for a while. Our fans will still cheer the team on, no matter where we are, CG hasn't denied us anything, he's denied Thompson a pay day. bigbaz

looks like you dont need to decide whether to boycott or not green has made your mind up for you so much for listening to the fans ... but then again you knew deep down youll just have to do what green tells you

Believable12 Unbelievable5

I am sure Dundee utd will sell tickets to Rangers supporters so If you want to go you will be able to

Agree2 Disagree1

I think the fans made it Lear to Green what their views are, so I would suggest we are not listening to Green, he's listening to us.

Agree7 Disagree4

Dundee utd will make all Rangers supporters who attend most welcome. I'm sure.

Agree2 Disagree6

@ 2 so why not just leave it to the fans to decide if they want to go or not ?? theirs plenty of fans on here who wanted to go so was their any need for green to get involved ?? if he listened to the fans he would have just left it to them to decide if they bought a ticket or not

Agree3 Disagree2

04 Dec 2012 18:29:21
So it's official - the club is refusing to take tickets for Tannadice . Where does that leave genuine fans who wish to support their team ? And is it only DUFC who are to be boycotted or does this include all teams in the SPL who refused to transfer the license to the new (put the word of your choice here)?

Paddy Malarkey

Believable11 Unbelievable3

It's obviously not all clubs in the SPL. Charles Green has already said this and made the point when Rangers played Motherwell in the cup. Please get your facts right before you come on here

Agree4 Disagree9

Why are you so worried, Paddy?

The genuine fan will not go, simple.

They shafted us for the re-arranged game
They went over the top in their chairmens comments
The charge us £12 more per ticket than they do other SPL clubs ( Celtic excluded)
The SFA run this and we all know that they are Lawells puppets.

Reason enough?

Agree13 Disagree13

@3
Not worried in the slightest - just asking.
The genuine fan(in my opinion)WILL go .
How did you get shafted in the rearranged game ? You could have boycotted then but CHOSE to buy tickets .
So they charge Celtic £12 more than other SPL clubs and this concerns you ?
Proof ? Or is that just an opinion? And even if he did/does run the SFA,what has it to do with this tie ? You're not suggesting that the draw was rigged to produce this particular tie at this venue, are you ? At least you are still in the cup-embrace it and enjoy it .
Paddy Malarkey

Agree6 Disagree6

WTF has Lawell got to do with it . Do you think he tells SPL clubs to fleece his own fans . Do you think he fixed the draw . If Greene has that much issues with the SFA why doesn't heck just pull his new team out the cup or is he only happy to play home games . If he was drawn against Celtic do you think he would have taken the same stance or aren't Celtic in his pathetic little black book . New Club New beginnings just get back to playing football .........DH

Agree4 Disagree4

5) We did boycott the re-arranged game in vast numbers. Yes it concerns me that they overcharge Olf Firm fans and it should concern you. I took my twelve year old last year, no concessions - £56. The following week they played St Johnstone and the same area tickets were £16 and £8, so if I were a Saints fan it would cost me £32 less. Not much "sporting integrity" it's called greed.

I am not suggesting the draw was rigged, I am suggesting that the SFA did nothing to prevent a member club being dragged through hell and indeed helped in no short way of sticking the boot in.

Do you nderstand? Probably not

Agree3 Disagree5

@7
Which part of "ceased to be a member club"and had to apply for membership do you NOT understand. You basically mortally injured yourselves and then wanted everything to go back to "alright". You've obviouslynot got teenage children .

The gloating was way too premature, especially within the media, people lost all leave of their senses, claiming a "rangers victory" forgetting that HMRC had won the first 2 rounds and that this was a THIRD appeal.
HMRC's legal counsel was outnumbered 5.1, expect the kitchen sink to be chucked at the UTTT and the remaining 51 cases to be found to be tax evasion , just like the 30 the were found last time round. You didn't read that in the media did you?

Believable11 Unbelievable10

The HMRC have first to confince the judge that there are grounds for an appeal. Those grounds have to be about a point of law, nothing to do with a kitchen sink.

Agree4 Disagree3

HMRC didn't 'win' any rounds, they simply fined Rangers money without any court backing. Rangers appealed the decision which it was then deemed Rangers did not deserve a fine.

Agree6 Disagree3

04 Dec 2012 17:37:58
If proof was ever required that HMRC are treating us differently to anyone else. It is cleat that there is an agenda here and questions should be asked about the persecution of our club.

Firstly they should have accepted Murrays offer of £10m, precedent had been set with agreement to a deal with Arsenal. In fact they had an amnesty on their web site.

Secondly they should have accepted CVA of eight pence in the pound. They have accepted Portsmouth one p in the pound offer.

They lose Rednapps case and don't appeal and yet they seem fit to do so with us. It is great that they can spend endless amounts of taxpayers money in chasing a case that they won't get paid even if they win.

They let Whyte rack up a huge bill for not paying NI and PAYE that amounted to £18m. Yet Hearts get weeks and they are after them.

They then agree a three year deal with Hearts to pay tax, a deal they refused us.

That coupled with the leaking of details and documents makes it clear that there is a hidden agenda. They have it in for us.

However our MPs should ask questions of them it is stupid beyond belief. Between refusing the original Murray deal, they were responsible for court costs for the last round, now they spend more on appeal, they have probably cost the tax payer £20m. I believe the original bill was £25m. It is crazy.

That coupled with the delays in the hearing, then the ridiculous delay in coming to a decision, they have put us to the wall and seemingly hat is still not enough.

Believable22 Unbelievable11

"they have put us to the wall and seemingly hat is still not enough"

Rangers self destructed. End of.

If anything a HMRC victory will stop this petted lip nonsense "we won wir case but wir club is still deid, we arra peepul"

Agree12 Disagree14

Oh dear, this creation of Professor Struth needs to take his head out the sand Llng with countless others.
Many EBT's were found to be blatent tax evasion, CHEATING, HMRC are now going in to prove the rest were as well!

Agree6 Disagree6

>Firstly they should have accepted Murrays offer of £10m

Why please explain, if due £25 million (meeelion) in tax, why accept half of it, we in a recession mate, we need ze money!! Ze reech zay pay more!

>Secondly accept 8p in pound

Why please explain, why accept 1/12 th ammount due, yup lets every tax payer get away with 1/12 of thier real bill.

Allo Allo !!

They never let Whyte rack up bills, rangers directors did not stop him! They turned blind eye....

Agree2 Disagree3

Do you really think that hmrc a huge buisness would go out of there way to put rangers to it end? That would be even bigger news if they had no case but they do and you can't accept that. They would go after bigger clubs then you in the epl, you may be an example to start it but it is because there is a case for your dead club to answer to. I would be more angry at my club if I were you because the so called legends put you to your end in more ways then one, why would they even risk the future of the club in whatever small way? They decided to do it and we're stealing from inocent ppl and agianst the rules and law, so how could it be the spl or hmrc fault for enforcing the penalties(lack there of from spl) which all clubs and buisness's agree to follow?
Wake up and stop the kicking us, they hate us we don't care, your leaders lieing to yous and starting trouble with what they say and how they always bring other clubs into it for no reason in the press. Move on and start fresh for the greater good of your new club.

Agree3 Disagree4

Spend endless amounts of taxpayers money in chasing a case that they won't get paid even if they win....

But HRMC always win, even when they loose. cos it costs so much £5 million just to defend the FTT - wow. At thats first stage.

Agree2 Disagree1

Well said o/poster so much for HRMC (we don't do deals)then how come Hearts are allowed to pay outstanding tax over 3years.Is there a different rule for Rangers and if so why.

Agree4 Disagree3

3) why did they accept £10m from Arsenal for a reported £300m bill?
Why did they accept 1p for Portsmouth?

Instead of being stupid , why not answer the questions?

Because you can't, simple

Agree9 Disagree4

5) HMRC are not a business, they are a government body. Despite you inability to understand HMRC lost the case, not us.

Rangers fans should be grateful they are only in 2 competitions with reduced season tickets etc...imagine following a successful club that are in the later stages of champions league and still in all completions yes it stretches the fans pockets and they have to choose the games they want to see

Believable12 Unbelievable12

Listen son when your part - timers go through a season like season 2007 - 08 then you can post what you've posted.
In that season RFC played 8 games in 21 days including a UEFA cup final, a league decider and a Scottish Cup final. In total they played 68 games that season.
In every away game there were bears there.
Come back at the end of the season and gloat then with your champions league success story.

Agree15 Disagree7

Very good, this recession has been for five years, and now you moan that you have to pick and choose. I don't remember all the years we were in CL that our fans didn't turn up to home cup games. 15000 it is pathetic and more so that you try to justify it

Agree5 Disagree2

@ 1 then why arent you grateful you got a rest from big games now for the next few year ?? put your feet up and enjoy it

Oh dear, looks like Traynor and you other ex bears were gloating prematurely over your "victory" in the FTTT, as HMRC will appeal ruling to the Upper Tier Tribunal which we Tims told you would happen 10 days ago.
Also who will foot your club's legal bill this time? Murray will not, has Green
got that amount? Remember too it could go on for over another 2 years, and eat up precious finances needed elsewhere.
Looks like you will need your poodles in the press to start the "it's a disgrace, TRFC are innocent headlines again"
Timalloy

Believable9 Unbelievable14

Does this mean two more years, of nottherangerstaxcase blogs appearing ?

Agree13 Disagree0

Think Murray has too pay for appeal case, if he looses then MIH have whopping great big bill to face, and they have the money to pay it.

This never about rangers, always about MIH.

Agree7 Disagree3

HMRC are seeking permission to appeal. Did you get that boy. SEEKING is the clue word.

Agree9 Disagree4

What a load of tosh. Of course Murray will foot the bill, what has it to do with Green. Do you not understand this is an oldco issue, and even if HMRC win they still will not recover the tax payers any money. Hope you are happy that they see fit to waste more taxpayers money in trying to recover the irrecoverable.

If you are a tax payer you should be appalled but then again you are just bigoted. You probably don't pay tax anyway as clearly nobody with any sense would employ you.

Agree3 Disagree1

What would this have to with green and the rangers, u guys quick to tell us we have no history. So its murry and the old rangers will pay legal cost. Whats the point anway as rangers plc r dead so no money to be gottin bk to hmrc, TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!

Agree3 Disagree2

Will mih last two more years?
how much in debt is it?

Agree1 Disagree2

@6 MIH have been in debt for years. Lloyds even started taking debt for equity in shares for MIH. Do you think they want it bust? 2 years a doddle.

Agree2 Disagree0

HMRC are taking an old club who are gone to appeal?
Who is going to answer the phone? What a carry on this is!

Believable10 Unbelievable19

Pathetic post. The board of Dundee Utd. must understand that their previous salvo against us must be answered and the only action, to us, is not to put money in their coffers. They have always made it quite clear that they do not want our presence at their table and any visit is met with excessive gate prices. The abandonned fixture, a couple of seasons ago, sums up their attitude. Boycotts are not the answer, in most cases, but I'm sure our team will be motivated with or without us in this particular fixture.

Agree11 Disagree8

It doesn't help Rangers case having the RSA in the press saying the boycott is to make Dundee Utd 'Suffer'! How to make friends and influence people? Have these people no diplomacy skills whatsoever?? I can't wait to hear Mr Green's response, will it contain the word 'suffer'??

What Dun Unt should do is give Rangers their share of the tickes and state what you don't sell comes from your share of the overall gate receipt, that will allow the Rangers fans to make the decision to either support their club or not.

Tim Goa.

Agree3 Disagree6

@5 just make the rules up as you go along? Just like SPL.

RFC get 50% of the gate money if we turn upor not. Cant see utd selling all the tickets to there own fans. If all you Shellic fans atr that concerned about it here is an opertunity for you to help Scottish football.

This has not been thought through , the Union Bears , R.S.T. do not speak for the majority of true blue loyal supporters. Most of them that I see going to the games could do with some education.

Good riddance to Traynor, he was nothing more than a repugnant and deceitful Ibrox cheerleader masquerading as a journalist. A stain on his profession and that is saying something in this current climate.

And as he has done for countless years with his bitter and bile filled rantings dressed up as journalism he signs of with more of his trademark lies by claiming Rangers were completely exonerated by the FTTT! No they weren't! They were cleared on some counts but found guilty on others.

His last column just summed up exactly the type of journalist he really was, a bitter vindictive hack who twisted and manipulated the truth beyond all recognition to suit his and his favourite club's agenda. Journalism is a better place with his departure. Once again GOOD RIDDANCE!

Believable23 Unbelievable24

His article yesterday was ever so presumptuous , still he's got an agenda more than ever now with his appointment to Rangers successor club imminent!

Agree10 Disagree10

**** Traynor did not pander to anyone and was enerally objective and fair. That's why you don't like him because the large majority of scottish sports journalists are in your camp. You know the anti-establishment camp that is really the establishment, that controls the footballing authorities, the government and the judicial system in Scotland but still purports everyone is against them. So Hearts have come to a deal over their tax bill, they are getting 3 years to pay back what they are due. I say good luck to them, but is that not what CW proposed to HMRC . That on top of taking forever with the big tax case ( which is why the old company went bust ) someone in the HMRC has some questions to answer.
Highland Bear.

Believable17 Unbelievable16

Aye at the same time when he was timelessly writing cheques for them last season for PAYE, VAT & NI.

Grow up.

Rangers cheated the taxman trough EBT's (the FTTT doesn't exonerate Rangers BTW) and they cheated the taxman last season by not paying one thin dime indirectly cheating their fellow clubs.

Agree11 Disagree16

Big tax case partially delayed by MIH's refubal to hand over documentation (you'll have read the document and its reference to Mr Red ). Didn't CW propose to pay monies for the cases which RFC(IA) had admitted guilt - 30+ including five players ?

Starbucks who have paid 0 corporation tax are to enter talks with hmrc to establish NEW payment arrangements. No talk of being chased for 15 years backdated. So its now clear that even with sdm offering £10 mill to hmrc, we were chosen to be the easy scapegoats and put in the public domain, even leaked to do hmrc's dirty work.
It's clear now that it's all been about the threat of BAD publicity for big companies. If all these companies were to pay back it would rock the financial markets, and hmrc know it! Rangers were just a pawn to them. I doubt any ebt cases alone, will be hounded like we were!

Agree9 Disagree4

HMRC to appeal against ruling in Rangers 'Big Tax Case'

Agree10 Disagree5

Of course HMRC would appeal . The one person who found Rangers guilty was a financial expert ,the other two had no financial background so it was expected there would be an appeal .These people don't like to be beaten .,

Agree7 Disagree1

Clearly there has been an agenda against Rangers from the start. The tribunal cleared Rangers FC of any tax indiscretions. It is like taking a penalty - how many tries do HMRC get? To those sad Celtic fans and anti-Gers fans who come on here and post - get a life. Winning the BTC is PROOF that there was no wrongdoing in terms of tax liability. Craig Whyte chose not to pay tax & NI during his short tenure, but that is hardly the fault of Rangers the football club & their fans! So Tims, stop clutching at straws hoping Rangers will be stripped of titles so that you lot can catch up! Rangers FC has been treated in the most appalling way by the rest of Scottish football and should be in the SPL. Leave us alone and we'll get back to where we belong before long! WATP.

Agree3 Disagree6

Course they would appeal they have nothing to lose! It's taxpayers money that will pay for the appeal

Agree3 Disagree1

5) I know they dont like to be beaten but the fact is there have now been five cases of EBTs that have gone to tribunal, and lost every one of them. It's very easy to appeal when they are spending tax payers money to pay for it. It must be great to not have to worry about that, it is just a bottomless pit. However it is ridiculous that they are spending tax payers money to pursue a case that they will not get one penny even if they win.

Agree5 Disagree2

@6 The tribunal did not clear Rangers of all tax indiscretion's,or do you just read the bit's that suit you ?. The tribunal stated that Rangers HAD cases to answer regarding tax's

8) not a penny from rangers...true,

but loadsamoney from mih who also ran many ebts..... and mih is minted.

will murray take a second company into liquidation...?

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 How come you are so interested in the tax payer's money now, were you interested when the tax on some of the ebt's were not paid ?. Were you interested when wee Craigie never paid tax and NI. Were you interested when all those people lost their money because your defunct team would not pay them. No did not think so, the reason you are now questioning HMRC's appeal is you fear the outcome if they win
Tam

Agree2 Disagree1

Tam. Time for you to go to a darkened room mate, lol! You usually raise pertinent and valid points on here and I for one value your input normally but this post just appears to be an ill-conceived rant to me and entirely unlike you. You appear to be confusing the fans with those responsible. The one issue I can agree with, purely from my own moral stance, is in the use of EBT's as they are, by design, avoidance schemes and are unethical in my opinion, particularly within the current financial climate. However, their use is widespread, not exclusive to Rangers and probably equate to billions of pounds lost to the taxpayer collectively.

Bearing that in mind and in defence of poster 8, who made an entirely valid and sensible point that you chose to ignore (as a taxpayer yourself does it not concern you that HMRC are going to lose taxpayers money pursuing this no matter the end result? That is if they actually have grounds enough to be granted an appeal in the first place.), how many of the companies/businesses/clubs/individuals that have used/still are using EBT's have you lobbied to make your protestations against tax avoidance known and have your disdain for the practice made public? I would wager only one. Rangers. If I go onto Arsenal's site (keeping it within football) will I find a similar post from yourself chastising them for having the audacity to settle a £300m bill (12 times the size of our initial bill) with a paltry, by comparison, £10m, potentially costing the taxpayer £290m? Probably not although I would be delighted if you actually proved me wrong on that front. The point being poster eight will probably have become concerned around the same time you and I did. When all of this started coming to light.

In terms of 'Craigie' not paying tax or NI and Rangers fans not being concerned by it, if you can dig up a single post on here that supported his stance of non-payment then I will eat my proverbial hat! No-one I know or have read on here approves of what Craig Whyte did as you appear to be implying. Neither at the time nor now.

"Were you interested when all those people lost there money because your defunct team would not pay them. No did not think so...." Do you actually believe what you said to be true Tam? I would be absolutely shocked if you do. Yet again, I do not know of a single Rangers supporter who did not have concerns nor sympathy with the creditors over their plight (nor Motherwell, Livingston, Gretna fans during their own adminstrations/liquidations). I have been a creditor in a liquidation event previously and I can assure you I would have jumped all over any fan who said that the creditors did not matter or did not merit our sympathies.

Finally. "...the reason you are now questioning HMRC's appeal is you fear the outcome if they win." What outcome is that? If, and it is still a big if, they win then the company involved is in liquidation so HMRC can't do any more damage to it than was previously done/caused by those who ran it. As far as it influencing the SPL investigation then the process will probably take another two to three years and the SPL are convening in January so the loss of titles can't be what is feared. Incidentally, if they do manage to secure an appeal that means that as well as wasting additional taxpayers money that we collectively cannot afford to throw away, the creditors you clearly care as passionately about as I do will not be paid their entitlement until it is resolved and BDO will mosey along raking in far more than the creditors will ever receive collectively for no reason at all as they cannot complete the liquidation process until the case is definitively decided either. The only thing that is left is the 'fear' of being called cheats by opposing fans. To be honest that holds no fear any more anyway as we have been called cheats since this whole sorry mess began and whether they receive and win the appeal or not we will, rightly or wrongly, continue to be called cheats for decades to come either way. To be honest it has reached the water of a duck's back stage anyway as we have become so used to hearing it. There are absolutely no advantages in this appeal to the taxpayer as far as I can see and all it will do is drag this debate/saga on for the next two or three years. Personally I would prefer a return to footballing issues only as that seems to get forgotten about, and we are football fans at the end of the day, with all the things going on in the periphery.

If the boycott is about being charged twice for an abandoned game. Why wait 3 years?

Believable13 Unbelievable5

I thought this game was last year . really was it 2009 .. so can one of the boycotters please explain why there was no boycotts in 2010 or 2011 . this suggests it is hee haw to do with paying twice , and all about not being allowed to stay in the spl .. shamrock

Agree13 Disagree5

Also it was the old rangers they charged not the new rangers ?

Old habits can die hard you know ...

I think boycotts should be something for individuals to act on rather than mob rule , the groups that intend to stay away should come out publicly and state why they are boycotting. what i would say is that all clubs are suffering and need every bit of income to survive but Rangers have paid severly for the previous regimes financial problems but whilst we the fans were looking for solidarity from our fellow supporters we got kicked instead of helped.

We are NOT abandoning our team, we are making a stand. Dundee Utd have done Rangers and our support no favours. Forget their actions during the last year. We should be taking action for charging our fans twice and the disregard and arrogance towards the Rangers support.
I believe Charles Green should make a stand and refuse our full allocation. Ibrox should be opened up for the game on the screens and charge fans £10 adults and £5 Kids/concessions. We could make it a full capacity and a great day for Rangers Supporters. Our players know they have our full backing so all this baiting about not supporting them is poor. We are behind them more than ever.
Coisty09 {The Ed039's Note - The screens is a difficult one because sky have first refusal on Scottish Cup broadcast rights and if they are showing it on TV or even on BBC then there is little chance that Rangers are going to be able to broadcast it at Ibrox)

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Would you not need to give Dundee utd money to screen the match from there ground? Then boycott would be pointless.

Agree5 Disagree0

@1 you are wasting your breathe on idiots like the OP! They can't see through their bitterness and hatred long enough to see that they aren't true supporters like the not boycotting types!

You would need to pay united for the rights to show it

@2

then i suppose Celtic only have about 11.5 thousand real supporters as thats how many turned up for the match against Arbroath so tomorrow their will be 11.5 thousand real celtic Supporters and about 48 thousand glory hunters turning up to see you get put into the Europa League

@4: so all Rangers fans who went to the successful years after woeful attendances in the early 80s are also glory hunters?

Ed, surely Rangers pay Sky the higher rate for sky ( which allows them to brodcast it in the bars etc, and also hold a brodcasting/ entertainment licence. It is only Sky home service which prohibits brodcasting and public viewing

Personally i'am against a boycott of away games, however I understand fans wanting to. To me though, the first thing is Rangers, then everything else. So I will follow my club where ever they go. Yes these teams that hit us will get their money but I wont be buying anything in their grounds they wont get a extra penny from me. I would prefer to be there if we win drowning out this spl team. Wouldnt you love to be singing and watching them trudge out of the stadium?
