Nothing strange about the screens, commonwealth games grant paid for those. There has been other work done to improve the stadium that was not paid for by the grant, but I think it was a safety concern and needed to be addressed.

I've been reading over the posts today about Lennon and I've got to say Ed001 they are hatred by both sets of fans towards the managers not just the Gers fans towards Lennon. My take on what Lennon said in the paper is the sports writers new that if they could get Lennon to mention anything about Rangers finance situation the we're on to a winner. This might be hard for all the Rangers fans to get their head round but is Lennon got asked a question and he answered it as truthful as he could.
What was he suppose to say? That he was gutted the way all things about Rangers has turned out? Don't be silly. What you've got remember is the papers new what they were doing as did Lennon with his reply but he picked his words carefully.

The taxman would and will undoubtedly look for a deal in which he would receive some money. In the event of Rangers going insolvent all creditors would be paid off equally with HMRC not having a "preferential" status anymore according to company law they would not recieve anything near to £5-£8m, so a settlement would be the wise option. As for what counts as assets, its to my understanding that "players" are employees of the club and therefore are not regarded as assets. Ibrox is a listed building so its not an asset which could be sold. Murray park is an asset and at what it cost to be built it would be worth around £12m, furthermore the title deeds to Rangers FC could be worth money however i dont know how much. Any assets i dont know about would still not amount to anything near the "tax-bill".
There is hope ahead folks. We wont be going down without a fight, and i would safely bet against insolvency.

Ed sorry to bother you . But ginger winger is in the sun newspaper (saying rangers deserve to be in this mess ) now if that's not rubbing our nose in it what is it . In your opinion mate if,infact no doubt when we lose the tax case what the limit of punishment we can take before buckling? would half the worse case scenario do it... say 20 mill. macGER {Ed001's Note - I really don't know, it is impossible to say without access to the accounts, which have yet to be signed off and revealed. A lot would depend on if the club can agree a long term repayment schedule, if they have to pay anything at all. Costs are being reduced massively, so it might just be possible the club can cope, which certainly wouldn't have been possible without the cost cutting measures.}
Even when the asccounts are signed off, they only cover the period upto 30 June 2011, two months after Whyte took over. What has been happening between the beginning of July and now is anybodys bet.

Against all the odds, Rangers DO have agreat chance to get 4 in a row this season. Look at the Celtic 1st team squad. It has 2 Celtic supporters in it... Rangers? McShagger, McCulloch, Broadfoot, Whittaker, Wylde, Lafferty, Healy, Davis these boys WANT to pull on the famous blue shirt! It's one of the reasons we got to 3 in a row and now more than ever it will get us to 4! It's also the closest any of us will get to being on the pitch... if we all get behind the team week in week out we can help fire them up even more! So, if there is somthing pis*ing you off by all means have a gripe on this site or down the pub, but when the boys cross that white line get RIGHT behind them EVERY week and we can ALL be part of one of the best trophys in our great clubs history...

Ed - sorry if this is an old one but i only ask due to posts regarding bleeding the youth! does david murray get money if we play anyone produced at murray park? another reason i ask is cos huttons away on loan yet he played (very well) against man u in champs league, now he cani be bled into our league side?? ntbear {Ed001's Note - I don't understand why you think Murray would get anything from that? Hutton is sent on loan to aid his development, he wouldn't be playing regularly for the first team, so this is a chance to get him regular first team football.}

Ed from what I've heard we seem to have little chance of winning the tax case due to apparent documents proving our guilt so as in criminal cases if you no your going doon you plead guilty as early as possible to get a reduced sentence as I've done myself so my point been if our lawyers think we will lose should we not have pled to the charge or are as I suspect tax cases different in cutting deals to save a trial. macGER {Ed001's Note - it is a different thing, HMRC are a different breed.}

I'm really puzzled at how some of you out there think we can still win the league/cup/even finish a respectable second in the league when we have ONE fit striker who is an total joke and only three senior strikers on our books at all.
Regardless of the tax case and administration, we are absolutely screwed for this season, at least.
We shipped a 15 point lead with this squad + Jelavic and now we have the same squad but without him (don't even bother mentioning the 21 year old unknown bloke from the Swedish league) I really don't see where any of you are coming from.
McCoist has to say it, as embarrassing as it is to see, but surely we can all be realistic about this and not make fools of ourselves pretending it's all ok.
