Hi folks a good new year to one and all
! things are never as bad as they seem
So enjoy your new start and forget about one wee defeat. . .ploughing money into a club isn't always the answer. look what happened when advocatt was manager we lost 6-2 to the tic one season and came back and hammered them !helps sometimes but money isn't the be all to end all.Im sure now that mr murray and mr Smith who are on their way out don't wish anybody any misfortune but people do get old and infirm etc and need to slow down , as has happened here we need fresh new blood to take the club forward with firm purpose and energy. time for young people now and its not about somebody coming in to make a quick buck either. so the main share holder is trying to put the club first as he always did. and Im sure sir David will come good.
I don't think anymore needs to be said we all have a big year in front of us so lets get on with it.

Both Rangers and Celtic are wanted in the English prem not only by sky, but other tv networks such as ESPN and Chairmans from the premier league, splitting the EPL into two seperate leagues. And it will happen evntually as if the old firm was to enter the EPL then they would become the dominant force with money following Man City and Chelsea due to the enormus fan base and bring in millions of tv revenue for sky and other english clubs, FACT.

i have one bit off news about the takeover [it is off, it is not going to happen, it is time the fans took control from mr bain and the rest

and could someone tell me what does mr durrant do at rangers

Thanks for the informative post!

Only thing is the Club in the guise of Alistair Johnstone has already told us that no one will be leaving as there no need to sell. Presumably we should doubt his integrity and honesty and fall in line with your thoughts. You are however remarkably well informed, knowing that the takeover is off, before the Stock Exchange has been advised which is a legal requirement.

There is always a risk in the appointment of a new manager, I remember having doubts when Souness (1st job) left and Walter Smith obtained his first managerial position. I presume Liverpoool fans would have had the same doubts when Bob Paisly took over from Bill Shankley.

You will excuse me if I prefer to wait until I hear something a little more definative than your post before I worry about the future of the club.

As for the much maligned Martin Bain I would like to thank him for the respectful way that the club dealt with the 40th Anniversay of the disaster. We should also consider how as a Club we remember the contribution made by Willie Waddell.

Celtic won one game and all of a sudden there amazing, same old celtic. this is the squad that are only 4 points ahead of rangers with 2 games more played! I personally thought both Rangers and Celtic were rubbish on Sunday, and Samaras, he's still stinking. he scored a tap in and a penalty. WELLDONE.

Kenny Miller linked with whoever wants him! Why are people raving about Miller?! Yeah he's scoring but he has stayed fit all season unlike Gary Hooper who has had injuries and he also takes Rangers penalties to get his goals tally up, if Hooper had stayed fit he'd have scored more from open play than Miller and that's a fact, good on you Kenny lad you might just strengthen your hand when you are negotiating this last big pay day you crave, LMFAO! he's not fooling anyone apart from the bluenoses, he proved again on Sunday that his overall game is poor, he's scoring goals yes but he always will to a point but he aint that good, he was found out on Sunday in front of the blinkered mob for what he really is, VERY AVERAGE AT BEST!

Ed, why are you allowing comments like Dave Cooper signing for Rangers on a free transfer and being given shirt number 66.

Are you not aware that Dave Cooper died suddenly at the age of 36, was an Ibrox legend and that 66 Rangers fans died in the Ibrox disaster on the 2nd Jan 1971.

I don't care if you post this comment but an explanation from you I think is deserved.

PS whoever posted the comment in the first place is a low life and should have all future posts banned.

You have said in the past the you can block posts from ip addresses. {ed's note - it was a mistake, the only reason it hasn't been removed is because we had to change the passwords after being hacked and I don't have the new ones yet. The guy who does is off and so I can't get into the server to remove it. The editor who was editing the site at the time did not realise what it was referring to as he is new, like most of us he doesn't follow Scottish football. I am extremely sorry it has made it on the site, it was this kind of thing that made us think very carefully about whether or not to even bother with a Celtic and Rangers site. It just seems that Celtic and Rangers fans are too often guilty of disgraceful comments like that one, to the point where it is difficult to even find anything that doesn't involve some reference to the IRA or Celtic Boys club or the Ibrox disaster. I was hoping that just maybe there would be enough decent Old Firm fans to make it worthwhile, but I am not sure there are. The decent ones amongst you are so overshadowed by the bitterness and bile between you that I really don't know if it is even worth keeping the sites going.

But you have my deepest apologies for the slip up, I really can't apologise enough for it.}

Ed be serious are you a celtic fan? you seem to allow alot of celtic garbage be posted on rangers rumour page {ed's note - not in the slightest mate. It is banter there is a lot of Rangers posts on the Celtic site. Well there was a lot posted before the result anyway, it has understandably gone quiet from most Rangers fans while lots of extra Celtic fans have shown their faces. The next time Rangers beat Celtic I am sure it will be the same the other way round.}
