Over the last couple of months on these pages there's been a lot of posters saying that norwich city striker kyle lafferty was coming back to rangers on a 6 month loan deal until the end of the season, some on here wanted him back some didn't, I stated from the start of the rumours that I didn't want lafferty anywhere near rangers ever again as he made his bed and he's a trouble maker who would only disrupt team harmony which warburton is big on, this is why I knew our manager wouldn't entertain anyone like him, well guys I'm glad to say the big northern irishman looks to be on his way to leeds utd, both norwich and leeds are in deep negotiations and the only thing stopping the deal at the minute is leeds only want him on a 6 month loan deal with a view of a permanent deal in the summer whereas norwich want to sell him for a fee immediately, I've a soft spot for leeds as they're a favourite english club of mine and feel so sorry for them that they look like taking big lafferty on, good luck with that one leeds, you'll most definitely need it! Just so glad he'll be nowhere near glasgow rangers.

04 Jan 2016 18:38:42
I can't remember him causing any disruption when he was at rangers. He certainly hasn't caused any disruption in the northern ireland dressing rooms he's been in over the years. If lafferty signed for Leeds that would be the least of the Leeds fans worries with the owner they have.

04 Jan 2016 20:47:40
Common hooly78,you can't remember the carryon and disruption lafferty caused at rangers, let me jog your memory, the time he was acting the clown coming off the team bus and injured his hand which stopped him playing for us, the disgrace he brought to the club with the fracas when parking in the disabled parking space and caused a commotion when asked to move, when he rented the house and let his dogs run wild and soil all over the house which happened when he refused to pay the girl who walked his dogs for him, it caused the landlord to refuse other footballers the chance to rent his flats, the drunken binges which caused him to miss training setting bad examples for our younger players at the time and last but not least wanting to take the club to court after going into admin when he was told he could go but stay at least until the club got a small fee for him, oh sorry almost forgot the embarrassment he brought to our club regarding the feigning injury in the charlie mulgrew incident in which the club fined him, at least twice was asked to stay away from mp because of his bad influence, hope that's enough for you hooly78!

04 Jan 2016 21:39:49
Well said Warbs. Couldn't agree more. Sorry Hooly but this guy should be nowhere near the team imo. He only ever starting playing when new deals were in the air.

04 Jan 2016 22:02:57
Agree totally about Lafferty an embarrassment on and off the field. As the poster stated he made his bed when he deserted and we don't need him back. Good luck at Leeds although having personally known Stevie Evans he is just as big a chancer as Lafferty.

04 Jan 2016 22:36:33
Biffo316,I don't know stevie evans personally but obviously you do and I've no reason to doubt you when you call the leeds utd manager a chancer just like lafferty, as I stated in my op I've got a big soft spot for leeds utd and always like them to do well even though their current manager stevie evans is a big celtic fan, truth be told I'd much prefer a rangers orientated man being the leeds manager!

05 Jan 2016 01:37:22
We need to think about the present and stop bringing up the past. All you see on this is he done this and he done that. They done what's best for there careers and granted they could've done what Davis done and tried to get a fee but they didn't. They have family's too and bill to pay. We are we're we are now and the future looks great so let's focus on that.

05 Jan 2016 08:34:47
Warburton there was no one that caused more disruption and bad examples than gazza but it was all just fun and games with him when he was at rangers. As for the mulgrew episode there wasn't as much drama when fyfie done the exact same thing. All I know is that if he would of signed for us he would of filled his boots in the championship. But listen I might be a bit biased towards my fellow ulsterman.

05 Jan 2016 09:34:14
Fair doos, hooly78!Although I do know a lot of northern irish people who don't like kyle lafferty as a person but they can't praise wee stevie davis enough, I also have all the time in the world for stevie davis, you have your opinion and I respect that mate, I wish your country northern ireland all the best of luck at the euro championships mate! I'll be cheering you guys on as sadly my country didn't make it.

05 Jan 2016 15:25:29
I'm sure "wee Stevie" thinks the world of you too, WT15.

05 Jan 2016 21:00:17
Hooly 78 can see through you this is a Gers forum, met Gazza was the most generous / thoughtful person u would ever meet read his book and get educated.

06 Jan 2016 00:51:11
The difference between Gazza and Lafferty was that Gazza was one of the best football players in Europe, Lafferty doesn't come close. I have to say that agree with Warbs. Lafferty would be more at Home at Celtic than at Rangers and in any event he really isn't that good!

{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Transfers Abound As Arsene Backs Arsenal To Outplay Everyone And Other News

04 Jan 2016 10:02:28
Its january and speculation and rumours month with the transfer window being open, I can't speak for all rangers fans but I would be satisfied if warbs signed a commanding, no nonsense centre half with pace, a defensive ball winning midfielder and a striker/goalscorer another 3 players in total and we'd be fine, my own choices to my knowledge of the british market would be-mark beevers (millwall centre half) , matt crooks (accrington stanley defensive mid) , george byers (watford defensive mid) or will vaulks (falkirk defensive mid) , one of the 3 and finally gudskovskis (latvian striker/goalscorer) , these players would be sufficient as far as I'm concerned, what do all other bears think? ie. what positions and who they'd want us to sign in the positions they think we need to strengthen, should be interesting with all your views and opinions, also ed what's your take on this please?

04 Jan 2016 10:22:25
I think you need to lay aff the champ manager neeber :)

04 Jan 2016 11:03:34
Hi Warbs, as usual an astute post. I wouldn't mind seeing Vaulks. as great a player as George Byers would be for us and our country, I don't think a loan signing for that position is of benefit to us. I honestly don't know anything about Beevers. The Stanley boys seems to have gone awfully quiet (Both Windass and Crooks) and I for one don't want us to sign another striker or attacking midfielder when we have plenty of talent at U20 level.

04 Jan 2016 11:25:12
He's got to try out his Christmas pressie, come on.
What's a neeber btw?

04 Jan 2016 11:40:16
Taking nothing away from Miller's hat trick On Saturday, a number 9 to start alongside Waghorn is what I think is missing. The problem comes back to what plenty of ex players have said in the past in that it's easier to play against Rangers than for them. Look at Clarke and his 41 goals in a season for QOTS. What happened to that when he joined us?

Will Vaulks in midfield is not a bad idea but could fall into the easier playing against us category and in any event I read that Celtic may be interested in him joining Scott Allan on the bench and we can't compete with that bench, can we? I'm not a critic of our centre backs and rate them all and I believe Luca Gasparotto can become an established Rangers player. Canadian football is at more than a decent level internationally and the fact that he's been in their squad for a couple of years now says a lot about what their professional coaches think of his ability. In any event to try and second guess Warburton is near impossible and I'm sure he'll surprise us all. Already has with a left winger and a goalie.

04 Jan 2016 10:59:04
I don't really see the point of a defensive midfielder in the championship. To me that just means we don't have any confidence in our centre halves. Can see the point of one in the premiership but think we need a centre half and a centre forward before that. I think it will be a maxim of 2 more new faces in January and that's the positions I would strengthen.

04 Jan 2016 12:51:00
Blue bear stevie, its just that I have knowledge of who my club might possibly be after and knowledge of the players I've mentioned, don't need champ manager to educate me on that neeber, its maybe reversed roles here neeber and you my friend who needs champ manager to educate your good self, NEEBER!

04 Jan 2016 14:57:34
Definitely Vaulks and the big Latvian would do for starters 15. Can't say I know much about the rest, since having kids has reduced my consumption of footy by a considerable amount!
Still wouldn't mind thon Cummings fella as he does seem a bit of a finisher, though not everybody's cup of tea, I get that.

04 Jan 2016 21:57:59
Warburtonthefifteenth How would you know who rangers are looking at signing if it wasn't for the names in the papers? The staff at Rangers don't even know who we are looking at ffs. The players have no clue who we are looking at, so how would you know? You have seen a few young players with good stats on FIFA or Champ manager and you're here bursting heeds with it. So how do you have knowledge of a Watford reserve players? Accrington Stanley players? and a Millwall player who has played only once this year and half of last year? Are you traveling down to games are ya? Cut it out son and gee us all piece.

04 Jan 2016 22:47:13
Blue bear stevie, in my op I didn't say anything about knowing which players we're supposedly signing so try and get your facts correct before you come on here spouting mate, your correct in saying that most of us who post in here including myself find out what players out club are linked with through media outlets, in saying that and again like other bears I've got one or two good contacts, I certainly have watched and know who mark beevers is, I know who the young watford midfielder george byers is through watching the scotland unders, the accrington stanley duo I've only seen once or twice and like most others I've seen some clips on you tube, so really nothing to get your knickers in a twist for neeber!

04 Jan 2016 23:36:48
you must sit and watch the custard and jelly 24/7 to see all this lower league fitba. You're the one who's Alan Whickers are in a twist pal. It's understandable as I would take the sugar lump if i were called out for talking Paul Ince too. The one or two contact you have are stuck to yer mince pies so please stop talking Barry White and pretending to be a footy scout and i'll stop pretending to be a cockney!

05 Jan 2016 06:22:13
Blue bear stevie, you'll need to continue pretending to be a cockney, catch ma drift, neeber!

04 Jan 2016 08:39:56
We don't need Cummings, and after watching that O'halloran the past few weeks, no thanks, he had 3 one on ones against Celtic, bottled it! Pace, that's about it! Cummings is a goal scorer, but so what, wouldn't take him, we need a holding midfielder, a left sided winger, and an out and out goal scorer, I'd rather take that Boyce from Ross county than Cummings from Hibs, great striker, but not for rangers, he's at Hibs, and he's one of them players that have a team they're good at, and that's that! If he moves anywhere else, he'll just be a normal player, Hibs love him, he loves Hibs, he's a hero there, he's better off staying there, that's his level, and his team, he wouldn't cut it under warburton, his work rates terrible, and he's moody, we've got a good dressing room, and as you can see, a great team spirt!

04 Jan 2016 20:05:07
Boyce over Cummings? No way Colin. I posted on here months ago we should have been looking at him instead of Allen at the time. Now with him scoring every other week, his price has risen and won't go cheaply now. He's a far better option than Boyce.
