Surely we must have a plan in order to take care of the players at Ibrox that are surplus to requirements.
There is a huge difference financially depending on which route we go down.
We have 4 players who imo will find it hard to shift these being Kiernan. Halliday. Forrester. O'halloran. Say an average of £7k. a week so with 2yrs left on Contract that's £168k each. Say they except a 70% pay off so that's around £130k. A potent loss of over half a million on just 4 players who again in my opinion could be the most difficult to move on.
Who else thinks that the Club will try everything to find a taker for these players on loan be it paying up to 50% wages for next Season in the hope the player shows himself in a good light the chances of Clubs thrn wanting to take the player for a fee increases hugely.
Players like Windass Crooks. Waghorn. and now McKay Tavs and Wallace due to the players coming in and the positions being filled I cannot see certain players like Tav playing second fiddle.

05 Jun 2017 00:04:20
Of course we have a plan but it wouldn't make must sense to publicise it would it?

05 Jun 2017 00:53:37
If we want to sell O'Halloran then there will be interest, whether at £500k is debatable. Forrester frustrates, he is a decent player but clearly has the wrong attitude. As for Kiernan, it really wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at Forrest although I suspect that as he has done in etc past, Weir will try and shaft us again.

As for Halliday, there might be someone out there that wants him although I can't imagine who! He will cost us money to get rid!

05 Jun 2017 13:36:40
Andy18721a your arithmetic needs some attention. Two years' wages at £7k a week is £168k? It's over £700k, multiplied by the four players you mention is almost £3m in wages over the next two years. Makes the rest of your post irrelevant.

04 Jun 2017 21:58:07
Pictures of Herrera at Cardiff Airport doing the rounds on social media. Make of that what you will.

{Ed039's Note - pics at Glasgow airport too

04 Jun 2017 23:23:59
Pedros not about here - grabbing players and flinging them on a plane! Aparently 3 new signings tomorrow not including pena who should sign next week. He needs to conduct pre season and get the team ready for the euro game on the 29th! Strong signal of intent from King but well done Pedro. Couple more Scottish players and should be good for next season.

04 Jun 2017 22:32:57
Eduardo herrera here to sign, along with the 2 other Portuguese boys tomorrow. Much needed fire power along with all the others, I'm looking forward to an interesting pre season and Euro qualifiers. 🖒😎.

04 Jun 2017 22:31:29
Anyone think we should be going in for the young lad Knox at livi now we appear to have some cash to spend? Warburton apparently making him a priority target for Notts Forrest.

04 Jun 2017 23:11:10
Yeah Scotty! Know should b a must for us! We'll regret it if we don't take a punt imo

04 Jun 2017 22:06:54
Anybody know if we have arranged any pre-season friendlys? Doubt we will be going abroad especially America but ye never know.
Also it's just my opinion but I think we should try and show King a form of appreciation. Ideally a banner at first home game.
King and the Bears have done an amazing job raising funds and backing the Manager a Manager who has went in a direction regarding signings that no other candidate would have went.
Pedro has brought in players with exactly the right type of attributes.
Once we have brought in all our targets I hope that we do not throw money at some players to get them out and instead loan them out. We have say 8 players that need togo.
Kiernan
Halliday
Forrester
O'halloran
Windass
Crooks
Waghorn
I'd loan out Dodoo and imo I would try Livingston. Ask them for Knox in return
As for Players like McKay Tavs Hodson i'm in two minds but the more players I see poss arriving the more I think they will go in fact they must as we will need to trim the squad.
Think Ped will keep Holt tho he does seem tolike him and so do I.
One more thing and that's the young lads coming through. I really hope Pedro gives most of them a run out in the League Cup as well as using them in games that we are dominating giving them 20-30mins.
On that note I think Atayaki will turn out to bea very good pplayer great at going past players very technical this lad will make it and we must sign him up long term ASAP.

05 Jun 2017 00:07:42
I'm fully behind the board but it won't be all plane sailing. Lots of new players to bed in and adjust to the Scottish game and climate won't be easy.

Could be that we don't hit form until October but we're on the right track.

Hope all supporters will get behind the team and stay there through the inevitable tough days

05 Jun 2017 01:22:57
Agree broadly with what you're seeing however I think Dodoo is a much higher standard than the championship and Livingston, I'd keep him.

Also we aren't in the league cup till the knockout rounds because of Europe. So the young boys will need to wait.

05 Jun 2017 02:28:59
Windlass not going

05 Jun 2017 02:30:45
Dodoo would be guaranteed games tho and could do him the world of good ti hit tge back of tge net no matter what Division. Give him 6 months at Livingston. No matter what it's either getting loaned or sold imo

04 Jun 2017 22:03:42
Good on the board and manager. It's good to see a bit off quality getting added to the squad. I personally would keep big crooks and see what he's like with better quality of players.

04 Jun 2017 21:46:09
Couibaly getting released played way kilmanork worth a shout.

04 Jun 2017 23:53:04
Is he 😂 They only just spent 1 million quid on him aswell oops 😂

04 Jun 2017 21:27:21
Who else is still a wee bit nervous about who is going to be on this so called Panel that makes the final decision on Pena getting a work permit?

04 Jun 2017
New image uploaded to the
Rangers Player Sightings page entitled, Pedro with cardosa and dalcio

04 Jun 2017 20:02:45
Suppose Defoe is out out of the question? He has made his money though, he's been relegated, I know he will end up at something like West Brom but he could have a new challenge, Europa League, maybe win the league and or a cup.

04 Jun 2017 20:24:37
Moved to bournmouth getting over 100k a wk

04 Jun 2017 20:43:55
Didn't know he had moved.

04 Jun 2017 21:08:19
And 5 mill signing on fee!

04 Jun 2017 19:38:43
The board are seriously putting there confidence in PC just now with signing players and whom are mostly foreign in which I have no qualms about. Better times ahead blues. It's a start and cannot wait to see them gel as a team. Dave King stated he will spend season ticket money on player recruitment so I'm not questioning on where cash is coming from. As for kit surely DK is just waiting until everything is sorted legally before any official announcement and if he has done so. Big respect 🔴⚪️🔵.

04 Jun 2017 20:04:08
Bang on mate, the board are always the first targets but never get the praise

04 Jun 2017 21:51:55
Well said!
As I've said all along, get behind the board, the team and the manager through thick and thin.

Were on an upwards curve but well on the way to where we belong.

Time for some of the DK haters to come out and acknowledge that he is making progress?

04 Jun 2017 19:30:21
Re-Halliday.
I agree he hasn't been good enough.
But still think we should give him a chance in his proper position played as holding midfielder by Warburton.
Never his position.

04 Jun 2017 20:19:33
What is his position.

04 Jun 2017 21:08:22
His position is in a seat in the main stand because he's a fan at best

04 Jun 2017 21:35:36
A seat in the broomloan stand would suit Halliday.

04 Jun 2017 10:05:43
Im reading on here about us brining out new tops? how is this working,? . does this mean we can buy tops now.? . can ed please shed some light on this if he can, i'm just a bit confused. thanks.

{Ed039's Note - there is nothing official on the retail deal and wouldn't expect there to be while there is an ongoing legal battle, nothing has changed in that sense

04 Jun 2017 20:38:00
Puma and 32RED must put pressure on Ashley to renegotiate. They are not getting good value. When they signed up they believed the shirt sales could be in the tens of thousands not in the high hundreds. Good business practice that suits all must prevail.

04 Jun 2017 21:28:22
Negotiations going fine. New top this summer and profits to Rangers.

04 Jun 2017 21:46:39
In my opinion:

As far as Ashley is positioned in this situation, he has enough money to dig in and refuse to budge whether it makes sense financially or not.

He gets more than enough income from other sources and can happily sit on his erse laughing while no real revenue is generated from our club merchandise for any party involved.

32Red – They agreed a package for three seasons starting from July 2014. So that is up.

Puma agreed a five year deal starting 2013 so they haven't got long to run either.

Unless the board go against a contract (not a great idea usually) and sort a different kit out then we are stuck in limbo in my opinion.

It's annoying because our club is losing a source of revenue and because I want to be able to buy strips again!

04 Jun 2017 15:19:01
I am going to eat my words. Was genuinely worried with appointment of Pedro. The business we are doing at the moment would not have happened under any of the other managers linked. I will admit I haven't seen any of them play and can only base my opinions on stats, most of which seem quite favourable. Ok some will argue that the foreigners are a huge gamble but what is the alternative? What we already have? Or the merry go round British player who are technically way behind the most of the football globe at this present moment. Its something completely different to what we have seen at Ibrox for a very long time. Pedro is still. supplementing his targets with British players and I feel the balance perfect. Looking forward to what I believe will be an exciting season. Regardless Il

04 Jun 2017 17:47:32
That was exactly why I was so excited about his appointment we needed to go in a different direction how People used to say he needs sacked just because a few poor results with a shite team when really all he was doing was trying to assess the team more than anything was totally ridiculous.

04 Jun 2017 08:30:51
Looking on the rumours page a lot of talk about new kit deals and more players coming in, aren't we still tied with puma and Ashley? Also great to see new players would like to see more British players who know what it's like to play for Glasgow rangers.

04 Jun 2017 13:18:49
new shirt sponsor to be unveiled next week and new kits out in July. Biggest news of all though is that the Retail Deal is expected to be sorted out soon and a plan to buy tops so the money goes back to Rangers will be put in place.

04 Jun 2017 13:26:15
Any news on the sponsor?

04 Jun 2017 13:33:38
No but New deal to be done prior to start of season. DK was adamant that the retail side of business is back on track. Word is 100% legit

04 Jun 2017 13:47:46
Hope so mate. would assume we will here something soon. leaked photo of top mabaye. hope spd not the sponsor.

04 Jun 2017 01:12:42
4 medicals on Mon

04 Jun 2017 02:23:59
Do we still use Rosshall for player medicals?

04 Jun 2017 08:15:02
Nuffield as well

04 Jun 2017 00:53:05
**Rangers update: 6 new players coming in. New director of football and a new shirt deal. Live from Vegas.
NARSA convention, DK present.

04 Jun 2017 03:46:10
Some very important news coming out of NARSA 2017 Annual Convention tonight. Director of Football looks likely to take up the new role at Rangers as his contract is ready to expire soon and Graham Dorrans, Eduardo Herrera, Daniel Candeias and Dalcio are ready to be signed up next week. Also, new shirt sponsor to be unveiled next week and new kits out in July. Four medical s taken.

04 Jun 2017 03:59:13
It's Paul Mitchell. Still on tottenhams books but being allowed to separate now as they have a replacement. Rangers won't announce until he is gone from them

04 Jun 2017 10:17:14
So, are finally out the Ashley deal - is this what I read from this, or is it just a new kit launch under same terms?

04 Jun 2017 11:11:18
Mols73.cant see ashley gone, but reading between the lines i think the deal might have changed in our favour.

04 Jun 2017 12:24:08
Shirt Sponser and shirt manufacturer are two diff things. If they have said new Sponser then that will have nothing to do with the deal with Puma.

04 Jun 2017 13:23:09
Dave King has encouraged fans to buy the new kit when available, so I'm guessing something's changed.
