Who to believe?

Rangers say they are "appalled and saddened at the current demeanour" of Malcolm Murray after the former club chairman rejected a claim he approved much-criticised salaries at Ibrox.
Murray described as "misleading and vexatious" the suggestion that he had sanctioned substantial pay-outs.
But the club insist Murray "agreed" payments to Brian Stockbridge and former chief executive Charles Green.
And Rangers say Murray "signed off" Green's compromise agreement.

As well as challenging Murray's assertions over payments, Rangers described the former chairman's claim that he was appointed by institutions to oversee corporate governance as "grossly inaccurate".

And the club insist it was Murray who proposed current chief executive Craig Mather to the board after Murray had said: "Mather was proposed by Charles Green and rejected by me and two other board member. "

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Will we ever know

With so much sh1t flying - mainly directed by the spiteful PR companies - no one will get out clean

.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ op this board have certainly got something to hide trying to block the shareholders votes and anybody who speaks out about what they think is going on this board use tactics of trying to discredit whoever speaks out also something I find really interesting is why put mccoists wages in the accounts when it's never been done before I think it's just another underhand tactic that this board seem to keep coming up with also if I remember right Mather came out and said they made an agreement. with the requisitioners that they would combine the egm and the agm together to save money

Agree0 Disagree0

Op has he denied that

Mr Murray was appointed by Charles Green on June 14 2012 to Sevco Scotland (now Rangers Football Club Ltd). There were no institutions in the Club then. The Club IPO was on December 19 2012 so it is grossly inaccurate to say Mr Murray was put there by said institutions to oversee corporate governance.
Mr Murray proposed Craig Mather to the board.
Mr Murray agreed Brian Stockbridge’s salary and bonus.
Mr Murray agreed Mr Green’s salary and bonus.
Mr Murray negotiated Mr Green’s compromise agreement and signed it off.
Mr Murray was removed from the Pinsent Masons investigation by the board after leaking information to a third party.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 aye cause every statement rangers release is the gods honest truth aye right mm is getting slated off this board if this board are doing nothing wrong and everything that people are saying is lies why don't they sue for slander because they know and you really know deep down there up to their neck in it

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 he was there before the ipo, that is indisputable, green brought him in, he was part of the board when contracts were agreed
I asked a question, I never gave an opinion either for or against again I will ask has he denied any of the above or did he just say wasntme?

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 you answered your own question if Murray said it wasn't him then he's denying it

OK, let's try and put this into perspective, and believe me I am a fan of Ally the player and personality, firstly you are offered to be manager of the club you love, bloody grab it, but please not the bull. it of you were unaware of £ wage involved, then you realise (could elaborate so many reasons) that you are not manager material, but rather than accept you keep going thinking buying players who are away above our cash situation will make you look as if you are capable and then try to look the hero by reducing salary to a level that is still way beyond all managers in leagues way above our current level.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A good perspective -totally agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post m8 a legend of a player and never forget staying on when others ran but the 'i didn't know how much the contract was worth' routine has finished ally off as far as i'm concerned. As for the half pay cause its the right thing to do bull should have been there from the minute the club went into admin and nit days before the accounts came out

Agree0 Disagree0

Is McCoist worth £413k a year in third div Scotland against part time teams? The answer is still no. He still earns more than barrack Obama or prime minister or German chancellor.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see why the board would want to keep Ally as manager he takes all the flack while they hide in their ivory tower fiddling while Rome burns god he is paid to much we all agree he has finally taken a wage cut the team we have now should be good enough to take us back to the top league if the money lasts that long now where has it all gone simple question tell us why would a board not want to put themselves up for reelection why not its democracy unless they have something to hide surely not why would anyone think that but hey let's not worry about the boardroom it's Ally we want out get a grip he will take us back up then if we are not doing it in the top league look at it then but for Christ sake get off his back and get behind the team

Agree0 Disagree0

3?

The Lemmon earns more also.

The chipping away at Ally continues.

You are NOT Rangers - simples.

BB

Agree0 Disagree0

The Salary should be dependant on the League we are playing in or capped accordingly. Its the reckless financial mis-Management that got us into this mess. No wonder Ally does not Do Walking Away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally is a spiv who like the current board have taken advantage of Rangers for their own gains. Why didn't McCoist drop his salary last season? Why only now once the accounts cone out does he drop his salary? Make no mistake a club in the 2nd division with a turnover of £19m should not be paying the manager £825k a year and no manager who claims to be a fan would take that. Ally has bled the club dry and him and other board members have put us dangerously close to another admin. No excuses McCoist u r no better than Stockbridge and Mathers at least though they don't claim to be Rangers fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally has been shown up as a devious, money grabbing, self preserving, talentless fool.

His cheeky chappie demeanour has melted away to reveal a not very nice weasel

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 How do you know what the Lemmon (childish) earn's, was Ally not surprised his remuneration was leaked, did he not state this was the first time that this had happened?. Don't make thing's up to try and look smart, as I said your being childish

Like to thank mccoist for cancelling the dunfermline gamectalk about makibg money he's just cost a fortune from 5. 30 kick to a midweek kickoff half empty stadium wit a dick.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Oct 2013 21:02:14
tbh I thought ally would want to keep the momentum going after 8-0. His paymaster pals on the board must've disagreed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous op. Have you not got anything better to do in life than post such drivel? Are you running. out of things to. blame mccoist for? How about the AIDS epidemic or recession or housing shortage?. Get a life. Its common practice for clubs with international players to postpone fixtures. It's a club decision not a manager's alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Oct 2013 00:37:53
Ally had no time to make the decision, he was too busy counting his money!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Oct 2013 09:03:53
I think most fans have still to realise the level of scandal that Ally was on over £800k a year. that's a HUGE salary in any game. He "wasnt aware". What an insult to our inteligence. This guy is a liar, plain and simple, relying on our good will to get away with it. that's called taking the p#ss, and that's how history will judge him. Anyone who sticks up for him is just a weakling who would rather swallow actual dog cr#p than believe an obvious truth that our club is being r#ped in open air by a "legend".

Agree0 Disagree0

I am disappointed about the Dunfermline call off as I was taking my 2 kids to the game and they now cannot make the rearranged date.
I understand the rule but noticed this quote from Mr. McCoist in a paper -

"You then open up the argument that we should be able to beat so and so with the squad we have got; I can understand that. But can you imagine the press conference we would be having if Dunfermline beat us 2-0 at Ibrox and we were without eight players? You would, quite rightly, be asking me if I was doing my job correctly. "

8 players? All i've seen is 3 players and 2 on stand by, making 5 in total. Where does he get 8 from? {The Ed039's Note - he will be counting Scotland u19s, ie Barrie McKay)

Ally now saying all he and his team wanted was the opportunity to manage the club and money did not matter, that being the case I can understand why he is willing to continue with his new meagre salary. As the saying goes Ally, when in the brown stuff don't keep digging.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is higher paid than mathers or Stockbridge. Including bonuses. So guess Barry ferguson is aiming comments at Ally as he's the biggest culprit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not one person or group comes out of this mess with any credit or class.

club is just a vipers nest

Agree0 Disagree0

Liar liar your bums on fire. give it a rest Ally we are not all zipped up the back. I have been in talks for a while now about wage decrease? really was that when you were still chasing players. knowing we were not able to afford them? make your mind up Ally were you in the know or not? first you saying Mathers not told me I cnat spend then you now saying been in talks weeks? well what's the truth? I bet we never find out. your as bad as them.

Barry Ferguson has not got the right to talk about Ally taking a pay cut, when Ferguson was on £35k a week at Rangers and was told he would need to take a pay cut if he wanted a new contract what did he do HE WALKED AWAY, at least Ally has done the correct thing and anyone out there saying he is paid too much for the manager he is how many of you lot are paid to much for the job you do and how many woould take a near 50% pay cut to stay in that job and keep the company you work for in a good financial state, Rangers supporters my arse the true Rangers supporters will be behind Ally and the team. I have said on here a few times give Ally time to get his team on the park that has now happened and the team is playing great 8-0 is a great score and yes some will say it's against part time players but Celtic needed 2 games last season when they had a good team to get past part time team and this season have been put out cup by mostly part time team we are Rangers we should all come together and support the team! The board are mostly terrible yes but it's not them we support every week if the board need removed then the shareholders can do this at the AGM!!
Rangers through and through!!!

Another twist in the boardroom saga
that is Rangers P. Murray & M. Murray
have today petitioned the courts to
have the a. g. m on Oct24 cancelled
until such times it is agreed to business
of appointing new directors is on the
agenda.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Really wish I had the brains to follow all this and what is gained by an action of this kind. It seems now to be ongoing and I would guess costing cash. Wonder who (must be some) really has Rangers well being at heart and how many may have a major ego problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

The one person from the board and the management team who has acted with the most dignity and least self interest for me is undoubtedly Malcolm Murray.

I ignore everything Traynor says and take with a pinch of salt whatever the board and even Ally now say - mostly just PR in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont care who is taking them to court, as long as someone is. This bunch of losers are trying to stop people having their say on who is a director and that's illegal as far as i'm concerned. what's they got to hide if they so worried. What a shambles.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3, you may be spot on, problem is who is the real deal and being honest I do not have a clue, simply because I did think anyone Ally backed may be the answer but now realise I was a complete d. K

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 What do you mean ignore everything Traynor says, when did he ever say anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 what do you mean, cannot remember ANYTHING he has said since emloyed, if wrong please let me know, since I genuinely believe he is now gone to some sun swept island preparing to come away with insider c. p, unless he has been paid off, after all we seem to be able to throw cash around, maybe writing a biography for Ally.

I would like to get this off my chest as I can't take much more of the negativity that is constantly posted on here
Things are bad right now but things could have been a lot worse. I think that some bears on here actually forget where we were on the 1st day of November 2012. The fact that we can still go to and watch the Rangers play football and in an Ibrox stadium still owned by us, is for now the main factor in all of this train crash which has been going on around us for several years.
Green and Co saw us lying across a table with a large jar of Vaseline at our side and saw a huge investment opportunity with potential huge returns for them. They bought the assets, kept the club going, turned the company into public ownership and the rest is history. Now they are the villains because some have rode off into the sunset with full pockets (on a lot of horses as well) sorry bears but for me that is business and nothing to do with loyalty to Rangers
Many other institutional investors have also invested through the IPO with a long term plan to get a return on their investment
A question which has been on my mind for a long time though is - If that investment opportunity was there, why was it only a group of businessmen with no affiliation to the club, who took it? Blue knights, McColl, King, Park, P Murray, you name them all made lots of noise but in the end they backed off, Why if they were and supposedly still are so intent on saving the club? We were not talking huge sums of money here 6-8M would have scared off Green, Even until now only the Easdales and Prior have taken up the opportunity to invest with the purchase of Ahmed and Green's shares, but they too have also come in for criticism, Why?
Now please don't tell me that this great plan to drive the company under and resurrect a new company was hatched years ago by all the parties involved, also don't tell me that D&P made Green and co the preferred bidders thus excluded all others, you may or may not know that preferred bidder status is not legally binding and can be challenged, why did the names above never make a serious challenge?
Could it be that this investment was not without substantial risk with all the unknowns regarding the BTC, membership of SFA, claims against the club, etc, etc? could well be, who knows? but for some reason the "rangers men" still hold back and appear to want to run the club but without putting any investment in.
Looking forward, Lots of money wwas taken out of the company, but lots of expenses were one off cases, If we get expenditure under control and particularly wages both playing but especially non playing then with a customer base of 40-45k every second weekend and thousands of others looking for rangers merchandise, then there is a very viable business there and no reason we should ever go bust again
Bring on the AGM and let's see what comes out of that

Ok got it off my chest
Lets discuss in an grown up manner please

JG

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@op some good points but green was always going to be preferred over anybody to get rangers hence the reason whyte is challenging saying he was still part of it and if I remember right the blue knights had a late offer rejected and they wer offering more than green

Agree0 Disagree0

King was engaged in a long running tax battle with the South African authorities at the time and couldn't commit any cash. He had already put a considerable amount of cash into the club previously and has stated he would be willing to do the same if things change. He should be invited onto the board in a prominent role

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree entirely JG, from where we were to these accounts is quite remarkable. Yes they have been well re-imbursed for the chance they took but risk money is costly.
I tried to post something similar but good on you for getting it spot on.
Now with some good financial management we will eradicate the debris that murray left.
billyb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valid points JG, here's my tuppence for what it's worth.
To me most of your points surround the 'where were the Rangers men when they had a chance to invest?' question?
If I'm correct then my answer is this. They didn't have the stomach for it.
Not because they are poor businessmen and not because there's not money to be made because clearly there is. However, look at the methods used by those who did invest to make this money. These methods are purely about making money and nothing to do with saving Rangers at all. In order to make money out of this club you have to be unattached emotionally, ruthless and have not a care at all for traditions, history, fans opinion etc.
On the other hand, if your investment is simply to save a footballing institution that you love then that takes away the ability to make money from it. In short, McColl etc are businessmen but Rangers supporters too. I doubt very much if any of them would want to be associated with what's been done to our club. The very reason I think David Murray sold in the first place. I'd argue that he knew what route had to be taken (liquidation) and after years of glory he wanted no part of that so he sold to a man who would happily be the face of this and who had no reason to care.
The money has been made through propeganda and taking advantage of fan loyalty. If your not prepared to do this then you've no chance of making money out of a football club, any football club, especially one in an environment where there is very little investment anyway (Scottish football).
Just one other point, what makes you think Ibrox is owned by us?
Not being cheeky mate, just a question.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have said since the debacle began that Blue Knights etc, etc, were all mouth saying all the things that punters wanted to hear, but unwilling to get their cash out.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ baybear dermot Desmonds a celtic fan and am sure he gets a few mill off celtic each season

Agree0 Disagree0

@ OP you will have to excuse me but why the 1st November 2012- I've forgotten the significance of that date?
The admin announcement, the D and P months etc the liquidation and the final agreement to give a qualified license after last season had started but I genuinely have forgotten what happened on the 1st November?
But yes I agree we are still here and we know it's a long haul with a lot more bumps and bruises ahead but we have a team on the park to support so hey ho that will have to do us at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

How were the blue knights, rangers men, et al only emotionally involved with saving history, culture, achievements? When they done nothing to save any of that. Absolutely nothing.
They are jealous bystanders who have tried every dirty trick in the book, including using red top rags like today, to gain power over the guys who put their own money in. Rangers fans are mugs if they support the likes of p Murray. He sank the club with SDM ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

You work away all your life till ill health comes knocking your paid off
you get on with life its hard
you need money, you ask the provy wuman fur a loan even she says no

its a guy called. let's say wonga
you ask round your friends and family
and get back on your feet
but mr wonga knew the position you were in and was, nt very nice to you you never forgave him for that
so at the first oppurtunity you say I need to get mr wonga of my back
this you do. and we all live happily ever after

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank god Craig Whyte found green and brought him to D&P to buy assets and keep it all going cause rangers men did squat. Whyte could have just walked away at that point. If it went into admin now, p Murray would be voicing off with no money as usual but looking for the big 400k job. P Murray could never have managed a Plc share issue with London brokers.
Stockbridges 200k salary and bonus is peanuts for what he's done. It's less thanvalastair Johnston or Martin bain took. And mathers is cheapest CEO in over a decade.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's with all the talk about wonga have I missed something

Agree0 Disagree0

@OP I think your points are spot on and provide a balanced realistic view of exactly what has happened to us over the last 18 months.

However, our continued lack of action as a collective group of fans sends a message to all the opportunists that we will continue to bank role their aspirations of greed. We have been let down and mislead through lack of information from two separate groups of custodians two years running. Are we really going to accept this happening for a 3rd year. Our lack of action only endorses what these people are doing to the us and using our club as the vehicle.

Regardless what Kieren Prior says, there has been a very clever and effective conjuring act to the tune of between £10 - £16m of value in the accounts to allow this money to be paid back out to parties and services not disclosed. While this may not be legally corrupt it is definitely morally corrupt.

This is not what Rangers is supposed to stand for and if we allow it to continue then we only have our selves to balms. Don't forget all analysts have stated that we need fresh investment within a year from now. The value of every ones shares get diluted not inflated. It will rake 15 years for Rangers to return comparable revenues to our previous and what investors other than fans are happy to wait this length of time.

Big George is right and we should vote with our feet until the board is replaced with people who have no connection to past regimes.

45,000 Rangers fans turning up for a home game hold the real power here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for all the grown up responses bears,

for me there are now two big dates coming up

1, the agm, (it must be held within 5 months after end of financial year)after that the board, whoever is elected, should be given a clear message from the shareholders and the fans that they must be up to the task ahead which is to turn the company back into the black
2, the interim accounts which are due for the six months 30 June to 31 december, and should be published around march,
these will tell us if we are turning the corner and cutting the losses, or if the board are still only in it for the money, let's hope its the first of those

I don't agree that not going to games and buy merchandise is going to help in any way, that will only make things worse but it is the individuals right to choose, personally I have very limited chances to get to games now but I do have my season tkt for rangers tv and I would never think about missing a game, its still the highlight of my week

I will bet you point to a penny that a pile of fresh or deferred one of payments wolf your remaining balance down. Listen to the fans that are accountants, not vested interests, they are concerned, stop believing the propaganda best use it makes you feel better in the short term, doesn't this all sound familiar to you guys? You are constantly being sold a pup, misinformed and downright lied and manipulated to. I know see you are turning on the SOS and the guys who's name has escaped me - the one guy out a world wide support who raised his head above the parapet for you with his own time and cash - just a normal fan- why hasn't he at least been reimbursed his expenses from the fighting fund - remember that, who's account do that resting in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The board & their investors. eg. Keiran prior are dressing up the audit to look " not too bad". Or " not as bad as expected". And 5 yr plan still in place. Super wage ally takes a pay cut. AFTER FAN FURY at massive pay at where the club currently find themselves. Oh they've upgraded ibrox sith LED lights & jumbo screens. Club NEED further investment very soon. If these investors were being truthful, then no right minded investor would go near! Let alone fans purchasing merchandise etc. Millions of pounds unaccounted for. Pardon the pun but" where is the wonga"!

Agree0 Disagree0

Did the fighting fund not get used to defend us against the title stripping when green didn't want to take part in it also nobody's turning on George or the SOS they wer asked wot their thoughts wer to the accounts

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Oct 2013 15:49:01
No. Title stripping incidentally was always talked up by Charles Green in order to win over the fans. He knew it was always a highly unlikely scenario but even if it had come to pass I would guess he might have been quietly pleased as it was something 99. 9% of bears were utterly opposed and therefore another opportunity to exploit them for more of his beloved wonga.

Agree0 Disagree0

There was 11. 5 or abouts according to accounts in bank in June. It may be more prudent for Stockbridge and Mathers to tell us exactly was in bank in July etc up to Septmber then we can see how much is exaclty left now? for all we know certain expenses is Sandanza etc pay offs may have enot been included and then this taken out accounts after books signed off? May been down to lots less do do us for year beofre seaon ticket money comes in? show and tell be good idea if nothing to hide may even help get you some votes for directors seat?

Agree0 Disagree0

Get this lot out the accounts don't tell the truth this lot are trying to keep power until we go into addmin again cause another addm would meen they don't have to show where money went ffs wakin up who will invest in 18 months time who would invest in a club loosing 14million in a year tmwnn

george here as a fan.

Was at the 8-0 and whilst Stenny had possibly the worst defence I have ever seen at Ibrox, you still have to put the ball in the net and in style is a bonus.

I will hedge my bets on it at the moment as to Ally overnight discovering how to motivate and organise a group of 11 men into a well drilled TEAM. BUT as a Rangers fan and for all his faults NOBODY can say ally is anything other than Rangers through and through. true?. it was GREAT TO WATCH.

I have supported Rangers through great times (75, 76, 78, 79 - except celtic game I was there worst feeling everl, some 80s mostly Davy Cooper show, then souness/smith 9 in a row, advocaat team my best ever rangers side that I saw. though a good pal John Kerr tells me the 62 to 64 Rangers team and the Dundee cup final were the best ever Rangers. the final day season wins Dunfermline/Helicopter Hibs/Dundee United/Killie 9 mins Lafferty Show league win) BAD times 9 in a row celtic , 80s new firm and hated Aberdeen more than celtic esp the Durrant chants. o'neils celtic and strachans celtic. and Lennons current likely 5 in a row minimum)

So now for me is what being a Rangers fan is all about. support in the HARDEST of times. I am doing my best to put my disdain for the board out my mind and coming up every 2 weeks to see Rangers win their way back to the top. for me the MOMENT we play our first home game HOPFLY in 2 years if we can avoid 2nd Admin, will be one of the greatest feelings ever, 4 years of exile and wind ups from celtic fans, EVERY game that year I reckon will be a cup final to Rangers EVERY game will be the zenith of 4 years of effort and seriously if Celtic continue to play in fashion they have the last 2 years against weak top division opposition we will have a fighting chance to win the 2015/16 SPFL. think I am mad? Well currently we just took on 8 players that are as good as any in the SPFL outside celtic and we had Wallace/Little/Temps/Shiels/Black (if playing well)/MacLeod all good SPFL pros. and over 2 seasons I can see us signing at least 5/7 more SPFL standard players.

Anyone that says we don't have at least a chance is seriously underestimating 2 things Celtic have all the pressure and everything to lose and the fact I mentioned the backs to the wall revenge factor and every game Rangers will be fighting like an Old Firm match after 4 years out.

My money went on winning league weeks ago and since added 2 more bets.

Mind also Rangers will have NO EURO COMMITMENTS at all and the way it is panning out qualifying wise Celtic at LEAST playing in Europa or CL. tiring and with 6 games in SPFL on back of Euro matches

Anyway nice to banter on Rangers Rumours as a fan rather than bitching at board for a change.

Yours as ever in Rangers FC. george

Believable0 Unbelievable0

George
Rangers will never win the top league as long as Ally is in charge. He is incompetent and will be out of his depth once he comes up against a team with more money to spend on players. Am not even convinced his side would finish in the top 3 with him in charge. That could mean that even when Rangers are able to compete in Europe we might not even qualify under him. As for the 8-0 drubbing you have to remember that we were up against a part time side.

Agree0 Disagree0

I admire your optimism however I feel it's totally misplaced. Ally should be building a team to be ready to compete in the top league when we get there but it's clearly not the case. All he is doing is spending ridiculous sums of money just to win the lower leagues.

When Rangers started in div 3 last season there was an opportunity to bring in the young players let them develop then by time we got back into the top league these players would have had around 100-150 first team games behind them and could have been ready for the top league. With the exception of McLeod all the young players that played last season have been tossed to the side to make way for journeyman players. George talks about 8 players being signed who are as good as any in the SPFL just now however will they still be in 2 years time? Daly, Foster & Smith are ok for Div 2 but do you really expect them to make a significant contribution to a team looking to win the SPFL? Will Black & McCulloch be up to the job in 2 years time? Is Little good enough in the SPFL?

If you take Barry McKay I thought he did really well last season and looked like someone who could do a longterm job for the club however he has rarely been seen this season. I know he has had his injury problems but he seems to have fallen out of the picture. He came on against Berwick scored a goal and gained the praise of the manager. He came on against Forfar and looked more dangerous than any other player on that day but come next game he doesn't make the bench.

I am deeply worried about the prospects when we reach the top league as it's clear the manager is only looking short term at winning div 2 no longterm plan is in place and I feel we will struggle badly in the top division.

We have many issues at the club both on and off the park and at the moment we aren't making any longterm progress in either. I hope this will change soon however this will only change will the removal of the board and the removal of the current management team. I am not convinced that either will happen in the short term

No reason why Rangers couldn't mount a serious challenge 1st year back, look at what Big Tel is doing at ICT on a fraction of the cost of Rangers wages. Ahead of Celtic last time I looked.

Saying that Big Tel is a far superior manager to Ally.

@3 Inverness have played 1 more game than Celtic so it's too early to talk about a challenge. See how the league looks once every team has played each other home and away. If you speak to Celtic fans none are worried about the league and seem more concerned about where they are going to play next years Champions League qualifiers

George, u mentioned Celtic in every paragraph. You barely mentioned accounts or admin but you've been saying its admin in November for months. So what's your position now u have the Deloitte certified accounts?

Agree0 Disagree0

@5. ). There is no reason for George to mention accounts, this is not what his post is about,
Ally has added to the squad and significantly improved it over one season, this is without any transfer fees, if he can keep adding a piece here and a piece there over the next couple of seasons (building as we grow) then I have to agree that is is very possible for Rangers to win the league first time up and I believe they will (cannot prove they will, but no one can prove they won't).
As long as McCoist keeps winning titles then I cannot agree with those calling for his sacking (although I do agree with some of the reasons why people are calling for it). What will be the answer when it is asked "will we win it", AYE READY.
CAJLTA.

I ALSO MENTIONED ON HERE AS A FAN. truthfully I am so sick of the apathy and lack of a unified Rangers protest I have put a hold on any emails and protests as nearly every second fan as another agenda or opinion.

The complexity of a Long Firm Fraud and an asset stripping take over by crooks in suits means that EXACTLY what is happening now is the aim. people unsure of who to believe and total disorganised protests.

Sadly I am beginning to tire of "Billionaires" such as Mr McColl and his group. I think they do not help their case to be believed/trusted by being what I personally feel is basic penny pinching tightwads, POSSIBLY even deliberately holding out for the bargain auction day of a 2nd Admin. DO NOT GET ME WRONG I HONESTLY THINK THE CURRENT BOARD ARE AT BEST PATHETIC AT RUNNING AN EFFICIENT BUSINESS WITH FINANCIAL PRUDENCE AT WORST A BUNCH OF LIARS AND CONMEN IN SUITS. but like I say IF THEY HONESTLY CARE FOR RANGERS FC THE WAY MOST OF US REAL GENUINE BEARS AND SEASON TICKET BUYERS then. why not put in a STRONG bid of say £10million at the stage when Charles Green came conveniently in at the death to 'steal' the club for £5.5million or so. I KNOW THAT DUFF AND CO were definately fending off all offers OTHER than CGs BUT had the BKs or McColl and co came in with a CLEAR OFFER OF £10 million CASH not an offer Brian Kennedy spun out as in 'amounting to" £11million but in actuality was around £5million but with lots of add ons had they won. THEN it would have been EXTREMELY difficult for Duff n co to justify turning it down and accepting the CG offer.

That reticence to gamble their money on Rangers surviving the big tax case and other issues is effectively the difference between a REAL Rangers fans caring offer and an offer made by a group of businessmen similar to CG and co trying to get Rangers on the cheap. THAT FACT is enough for me to not be the biggest fan of McColl and co currently

WHY NOT WRITE OFF THE £10 million and look to recoup like CG and his cronies did with the Share Issue FFS the costs off that alone would have repaid McColl or Blue Knights their gamble losses.

They didn't and the rest is history.

As such and with the ONGOING lack of any offer or business plan of REAL SUBSTANCE makes me personally start to doubt and actually dislike these so called saviours. for me it seems EVERYONE and their uncle is into Rangers to MAKE money rather than save the club and put us on an honest sound foundation for the future.

I 100% hate current board but I am also getting fed up with the LACK of someone with serious money actually 'maning up' to put a decent offer in to either take over Rangers or at least show the colour of their money.

IF say they lodged £50 million in a Rangers Funding Account, small change to most of the people being touted as saviours, so why not just do something like that to show all the CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED FANS they mean business?

All the talk in the world is just ensuring a likely 2nd Admin.

Sad days but hoping we can survive and become a great TEAM again. george

Is it a matter of coincidence that we find the wages that McCoist is on are rather hefty. If you guys think back to last June, it was mentioned that McCoist and his back room team were working without a contract. Along comes Mr Green, says "Ally, if you endorse the season ticket sales and endorse me as a trustworthy character" then you will receive a bumper contract. Not enough. ok how about you get offered the chance to buy shares in the club at £0. 01p as well. McCoist then goes on to make the statement that he is buying the shares as a fan and not as the rangers manager. Really Ally. fans bought in at 78p per share. Conclusion. Ally McCoist, rangers man or not is there primarily to line his own nest and think of the club second. Do you realise that nearly £2, 400 seasons tickets must be sold per year to make up Ally's salary.

As one journalist said tonight on the radio Ally's wages was money well spent as far as Chuckie Green was concerned. No Ally backing season tickets last year no fancy chateau in France today for Chuckie.

Come on gents give Ally a break, newspaper today saying he has agreed to reduce to £400k a year. Let's be fair how would you like to try and manage on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 400k a year I wouldn't get out of bed for that

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 Too little too late, damage to his reputation has been done, he is viewed as the rest a pig feeding from the trough. They are no better than the bankers

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 spot on mate Ally is no better than the other spivs that have bled the club dry. Also he still has the shares he got for 1p each. No matter how some people try and dress it up Ally has made a fortune out of the club, a club struggling to survive. To me that's not the actions of a fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Takes a lot of arm folding for 400k

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally was TUPE across from Oldco, so he did have an employment contract last June.

You just know Media House have advised Ally he should take the cut for the sake of his rep. Funny how he agress to pay cut just after accounts and before AGM.

Agree0 Disagree0

7 - I think you'll find that Ally McCoist made a statement in the press at the time (circa May - June 2012) that he and his backroom staff were working without a contract. No contract. no TUPE! Simple. His argument that he signed a contract at the beginning and this has ran throughout until now completely flies in the face of this statement. It's not like Ally though eh to say one thing and then contradict it though is it?

"We're building a team for the cups" Rangers put out of the cups. "The league is more important the cups don't matter"! Doh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough he's taken a pay cut, but £420 k per year is still a hell of a big pay packet for what he's doing.
