Wigan have enquired over the availability of scott allan. Time to face facts he's off to england.

Up front I think Scott Allan would be a positive if not an essential addition to Rangers squad; Option 1 if you like. Option 2 is that someone else signs him from Hibs, Rotherham, Wigan, whoever, this weakens Hibs, Option 3 he stays with Hibs.
Sure we can live with 1 or 2 - the pressure which would come with option three surely makes it untenable.

He has bigger dreams than going to a bottle of the half Championship side or a league 1 side who chances are will not get out of that league for maybe 2-3 seasons. The lad is coming to us.

fellow bears, can anyone help me. I went to hampden for the 1970-01 lge cup final ' which was a great day in itself: pssn o rain 1-0 us with a great header by DJ (also I recall the Cfc fans fighting amongst themselves in the rain)but I seem to recall going to the game across the old 3rd lanark pitch? but was there a game on and they stopped the game until we all got in. Can anyone remember?

SMFRC

You are correct but I don't think it was a proper game Thirds had folded by then, probably a wee local outfit 'borrowing' the pitch. We crossed round the old terracing but don't remember a game.

Do you remember Bud sitting on the ball?

06 Aug 2015 11:53:10
Aye - I remember Bud. One of best games against them in that lean era - also the 72-73 scot cup final, Tam Forsyth winner! That plus ECWC winners was the turning point in a prolonged period of little success of which I went to most games.

the pitch was used by a lot of teams at that time the terrace was still therebut stands were down before that

Wigan are the latest team to enquire about Scott Allan.

Seems to be a rumour that Allan has rejected transfer - seems strange that Hibs have rejected bid as well?

Also seems Rotherham upset their bid has been made public for our benefit?

People you are still going on about this Scott Allan. In my opinion Scott Allan can go where ever he wants. And the amount of fans on here that are all scott Allan this and that he's a great player. You all boo'ed him last season. Just because he hints at being a Rangers player you are all. Aww he's a great player.

He's no where near the status you all make him out to be. He's no Messi, Ronaldo, Figo, Pogba, or even at that De Boer. Stop making him out to be a top class player!

As I said if he comes to Rangers fair enough good addition too the team. But stop going on about him.

He showed last season that he was a decent player. If you don't want people giving their views on the subject, stop reading their posts.

step back, no more offers, if he goes elsewhere then fine, good player and great that blue nose, but if he wants to come he will work it, getting p. s.d off that it is beginning to make it look that he is the be all and end all on us stepping forward, we need to change the record.

Scott Allan is a player that would fit perfectly into the current squad and he has great ability for the standard of Scottish footballs level at the moment but you are going a bit far in criticising enthusiastic fans that are just indulging in a bit of good news for a change. we have been through a lot lately so I think you should let people get on with being cheerie for a change and stop being captain doom and gloom. OUR CLUB IS ON THE WAY BACK.

c'mon teeboy just be happy for a change. lol

I am happy. But let's face it there is better talent out there that we could go for. I'm happy we are getting good players for a change and not flops.

But by going with anything we buy young guys that are good for lower clubs and floods for us. But if he comes then good will stop all the Scott Allan chat that's all.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2015 17:21:58
if it's all about added value, then even now Allan would be worth buying at£600k as he would instantly be worth over £1m to us, HOWEVER remember that one player doth not maketh a team and if Hibs don't want to sell to us surely that is their perogative!
lets get Eustace signed up and move on, if Allan is still in Edinburgh come January we can get him then, but if he has moved on then let's be realistic about it, even though he IS a bluenose, he doesn't want to play on for Hibs, but may go elsewhere.

Hibs must be thinking over rangers offer as only place I have seen it anywhere as being rejected

Believable2 Unbelievable3

05 Aug 2015 12:33:50
Hibs have already said he isn’t going to Rangers so they probably won’t bother responding to a bid of this nature.

On another point, if Rotherham have outbid Rangers and Scott Allan has handed in a transfer request does this mean Hibs can tell him he must go to Rotherham if they accept the bid?

Agree2 Disagree4

05 Aug 2015 12:55:23
I wouldn't go beyond this offer.yes I would love him in the team but the way hibs have handled this they can gtf.he wants to come to no one other than rangers so sign him in January on a pre contract.

Agree3 Disagree1

05 Aug 2015 15:25:59
Doesnt matter who bids for him or how much they bid for him.its down to the player himself if he goes or stays.hes under contract for another year.i hope rotherham put a really big bid in for him hibs accept and allan refuses.

Agree3 Disagree3

05 Aug 2015 15:48:28
Doesn't matter who bids or how much. They can't force the player to go anywhere. If he really wants to go to Rangers he can turn down other clubs and stay at Hibs until they sell to Rangers or until such time that he can sign a pre contract.
He can only sign a pre contact with Rangers in January if Hibs give permission to talk to him.
Clubs outside Scotland don't need permission from Hibs.

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Aug 2015 16:10:09
I think they boxed themselves into a corner. Sell him to Rotheram and get a wee bit cash and save face. Rotheram sell him to Rangers in January with provisos on games, caps, sell-on etc. everyone wins.

Agree1 Disagree3

05 Aug 2015 17:08:12
Why would Rotherham buy him now only to sell him on in January? That makes absolutely no sense.

Agree5 Disagree1

05 Aug 2015 18:11:02
Business mate. I have learned over the years that you can lose some battles but still win the war. Using third parties to gain an initiative is very common. Has to be something in it for all parties. In thus case Rotheram are used as the middle link. His save face by not selling to Rangers, Rotheram get the "use" of a player then sell him on to Rangers. Business revolves around wheeling and dealing and football is no different. The old adage WIIFM (what's in it for me) holds true in all walks of life. If you don't think that happens then so be it, I talk from experience.

Agree1 Disagree3

05 Aug 2015 18:28:01
If he goes to Rotherham, then Rangers couldn't buy him in January.
Well, they could, but he wouldn't be able to play for Rangers until next season.
UEFA rules state that a player cannot play for any more than two clubs over the course of one season.

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Aug 2015 18:46:03
Sorry password but that is nonsense. What's in it for Rotherham? Why wouldn't we just wait until January to get SA for free. But if you can give me an actual example of what you mean I will happily retract.
