Just watched hibs pen on TV. What goes on inside the head of some of these players. Allen on the touchline going no place and tavernier just pushes him. Soft pen, but gives the ref the opportunity.

05 Feb 2018 18:54:18
Wouldn't even call it soft. Easy decision for the ref. Clear push in the back, all Allan had to do was left himself be pushed over. Frustrating

06 Feb 2018 01:16:11
Alright Tav has made a mistake and it caused the penalty. It happens to defenders.

Can I remind everybody that he also blocked a certain goal into an empty net in the first half which kept us losing an early goal?

Tavernier made one mistake and it cost us points, but our forward players made multiple mistakes each by missing the target on many occasions throughout the game.

Tavernier is our player of the season so far, he also held his hands up and acknowledged his mistake. We keep moving onšŸ‘šŸ¼

Getting away from us for a moment here bears! Don't know what the rest of you think, but i certainly wish people would just let sir walter smith, enjoy his retirement with his family and quality time with his grandkids! Some of our fans are also guilty of continually wanting walter back, as the rangers manager! Now it looks like all the media sportswriters and the SFA, are wanting him to come back and be the scotland manager once again! Don't get me wrong, imho smith would be a terrific choice,
as the scotland manager again but i honestly think they should all give the guy peace, to continue enjoying his retirement from football! My choice for the new scotland manager would be anyone of these 4 guys,
ie. guus hiddink, jurgen klinsmann, slaven bilic or stevie clarke!

05 Feb 2018 18:07:33
No one is going to force him to do anything he doesn't want to

05 Feb 2018 19:18:55
Exactly donā€™t really see the point of the post. He isnā€™t going to do anything he doesnā€™t want to and I doubt very much that the speculation will really affect Smith.

05 Feb 2018 22:00:37
Didn't know he was knighted but I agree a ridiculous post. He has a mind of his own and old enough and ugly enough to make up his own mind and own decisions. Enjoy your retirement Walter. As for your other suggested appointments, no thanks. Apart from Clarke, not one has a clue even knowing where to start or which players to look at.

06 Feb 2018 06:12:17
Kfraser, are you serious regarding klinsmann and hiddink about being NO good for to be considered for the scotland manager's job? Good manager's always have a clue to what they need to do! There's more than enough scottish coaches who could be part of their backroom team! You've the cheek to call my post ridiculous! Scrutinise your own post before casting any stones mate! I never once in my post insinuated that walter smith can't make his own mind up! All i was saying was that everytime there's a crisis, whether at rangers or now scotland, its just call on wattie! Give the guy peace is all i'm saying, he's done his stint! Also you're quite correct, walter AIN'T knighted, but he's a sir in my eyes, to what he's done and given to glasgow rangers! Its a figure of speech amongst many bears mate!

06 Feb 2018 11:45:03
SC11 football management is not rocket science and your suggestions about foreign selections who up until today couldn't care less about Scotland make no sense. If you pick the very best 11 to start in the first place, life becomes a lot easier. Too many so called managers can't even do that. Okay, call Smith a sir if you wish. Don't feel sorry for him. He'll do as he pleases.

05 Feb 2018 16:51:41
What's the predictions for thistle bears? Not expecting an easy game there but hopefully 2-0 to the rangers, Morelos and Murphy, tbh little bit hopeful of the clean sheet but need to turn up a lot better than the weekend, yes the ref has a bad game and I'm fearful every time Willie column is the ref but tbf the performance was not good enough, and what's the thoughts about Miller being in the squad do we think he should play?

If he does I would like to see windass drop for him as I feel josh needs a boot up the backside and start playing to his potential but I would prefer Cummings to get the chance in that role, but anyway hopefully we get a needed 3 points c'mon the rangers šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§šŸ”“āšŖļøšŸ”µšŸ‡¬šŸ‡§.

05 Feb 2018 18:01:49
Windass has effectively been playing the n10/ SS role for us, the creative playmaker as such is what he's being asked to do albeit not too well.

What on God's earth makes you think an out and out penalty box striker, who by his own admission prefers to play in the box, will excel in a position unnatural to him I will never

05 Feb 2018 18:23:42
no point in laying mlrales and cummins then as both too similar, need be herrera and another

05 Feb 2018 19:19:56
Herrera? Why do you expect him to do? Other than run about very slowly and not score?

05 Feb 2018 19:46:52
How exactly are Cummings and Morelos too similar? Ones an out and out penalty box striker while the other is a link up player who likes to drop deep and does most of the hard work outside the 6 yard box.

Seriously guys how can people be so uneducated when it comes too footballing matters. On top of that we have pooperscooper champing hiddink and Klinsmann for the national job. Both managers who would command multi million pound a YEAR in wages and Scotland refused what to up 500k for oneill over 3 years iirc.

Some people need a reality check

05 Feb 2018 20:11:59
totally agree rab how can anybody say the 2 strikers can't play in starting line up together if we don't at least test it first

05 Feb 2018 21:07:38
Jo Dodoo is the striker we should be looking to. Most explosive and natural finisher we have at the club with possible exception of the boy Hardie.

05 Feb 2018 21:42:32
Omfg! Another shout for dodoo being best finisher at the club! Watever brings people to that crazy conclusion? Absurd

05 Feb 2018 22:05:57
Dodo is awful

05 Feb 2018 14:19:46
Seeing rossiter player 60mins as captain for under 20ā€™s who beat Valencia 1-0. good news as he will add that steel along with good range of passing to midfield if he can stay injury free.

05 Feb 2018 14:55:09
Yes mate, that would be a terrific addition to the midfield if we could get him fit! Terrific result again from the young lads, this games programme that they are involved in seems to have been well worth doing, letā€™s hope we get a few of these boys coming through as we all love one of our own!

05 Feb 2018 15:45:18
Have only seen briief highlights of Hibs match and looks like moment of madness from Tav cost us. Looking for ward to seeing the boy Docherty get a run, how did he look whe he came on against Hibs and should he be in starting lineup tomorrow?

05 Feb 2018 16:08:18
Agree with that Bankie. After battling so hard for the equaliser that needless penalty was a real punch in the gut for the team.

05 Feb 2018 16:49:58
Would be great if rossiter can stay fit, he's the best midfielder we've got, play him in front of the back 4 and hopefully Mcrorie will be back soon in the defense alongside martin.

05 Feb 2018 16:52:39
Let's play the under 20s team tomorrow night against the Jags! lol They seem to be on a roll.

05 Feb 2018 18:20:21
If the club had any sense we should sell Rossiter as soon as he's fit before he's quickly injured again!

05 Feb 2018 21:01:15
You can only sell people in the transfer window šŸ¤”

05 Feb 2018 21:15:46
Exactly Dunbar Blue it'll be the next transfer window before he's fitšŸ˜©

05 Feb 2018 22:12:58
Some transfer windows are still open

05 Feb 2018 08:20:33
Hello follow bears
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on our manager at the end of season. Do people still want murty to lead the way or has he shown he's not the man to lead us.

05 Feb 2018 09:01:48
Too inexperienced a reflection of how bad things are at the club that we can't seem to attract an experienced manager and have a youth coach in charge. Seems odd there was no one else considered after McInnes. Murty seems a good guy but isnā€™t right for the job

05 Feb 2018 09:17:29
Too inconsistent for me. He's done well at times, beating the sheep, Hibs and Hearts away and a draw at Parkhead but the defeats at home to St Johnstone and Hamilton were unacceptable.

Before I get stick for it, I know he's inherited a squad that another manager put together but he's the manager now so he should be judged like any other manager would. We can't praise him for the positive results but make allowances for the poor ones because its Pedro's team.

For me, i think it's going to be Michael O'Neil come the summer. I don't think it's a coincidence that Jimmy Nicholl has come in and with him knocking back the Scotland job I wonder if he did so with the assurances that come May he'll be Rangers boss? Makes sense to have a trusted colleague in place to run the rule over the squad for the second part of the season and if O'Neil gets the gig then Nicholl is there as assistant and has spent enough time with the squad to make the recommendations, particularly the players on loan if they are worth signing in the summer.

I like Murty and a new manager could do worse than have him as part of the first team coaching setup.

05 Feb 2018 09:37:20
You could be right there JM22 with Jimmy Nicholl and Oā€™Neil maybe getting the job in the summer it makes sense, youā€™re also right about Murty being a decent coach and an all round nice guy, but personally I donā€™t think heā€™s the man to take us forward as next season Iā€™d like to think we should be challenging for the title and losing the silly games we have especially at Ibrox will not win us the league

05 Feb 2018 10:11:57
I can't see past Steve Clark I think he's doing an outstanding job at KilliešŸ‘

05 Feb 2018 10:39:23
If its o neil then why wouldn't we have him in now?

05 Feb 2018 10:39:59
Did M O'Neil not sign up for a further 6 years and big pay rise for N. I. after knocking back the Scotland job? If so he is not coming to Ibrox anytime soon.

05 Feb 2018 10:44:56
U could be right and makes sense with the JN appointment but did he not sign a new deal with Northern Ireland after KBā€™ing the Scotland job? Personally if thereā€™s a chance for Steve Clarke then we just go for it

05 Feb 2018 11:30:39
I see smith is a contender for scotland would love to see him back at rangers to steady the ship

05 Feb 2018 13:28:50
Murty should get the job if he gets 2nd I think although whatā€™s you people opinion if he finished say 3rd but wins the Scottish cup? Still go or stay

05 Feb 2018 14:31:45
To be honest I can see Murty getting the job regardless.

05 Feb 2018 15:06:00
Yes O'Neil signed a 6 year deal with N. Ireland so definitely won't be him.

05 Feb 2018 16:09:22
I'm still happy with Murty. On Saturday morning everyone was singing his praises

05 Feb 2018 16:17:45
We have a manager and letā€™s fully back him and assess at end of season.

05 Feb 2018 16:41:32
I think he should be judged at the end of the season, not on a game by game basis.
We all need to remember this is our 3rd rebuilding job in 2 seasons.

05 Feb 2018 16:44:19
M. O'Neil will be England bound.

05 Feb 2018 16:46:51
So we lose a game and it's straight to looking at who will replace the manager. He is not the problem. The players are.

Let's take Murphy, the guy is as lazy as they come. Players repeatedly bombing down his side of the park and he stands in the opposing half waiting for someone to pass the ball to him.

I believe in giving criticism where it is due and the fact that Murphy or Dorrans when he is fit are Rangers fans should not let the escape any such criticism.

I also disagree that the game was lost in the centre of the park. For me it was lost in the wide areas and inconsistent refereeing.

05 Feb 2018 16:48:22
Any 3rd place finish should mean he is not even an option for me mate. Even second, if we scrape it then I wouldn't keep Murty on regardless of a Scottish cup win or not. Win the cup and secure second comfortably, then we can talk. All this we are on a journey etc. we have been beat twice at home and fluked a win away against a team that came up from the Championship last year. I don't understand how we can be so close to them in the league when we had a whole year head start on them to settle back into the SPL.

05 Feb 2018 16:49:57
i agree calvin55, yes they will keep murty regardless the cheap and safe option for the board!

05 Feb 2018 16:53:15
If Murty did lead us to a Scottish Cup win, then it might be hard to get rid of him. Not really that interested in second place.
Are we really saying that being able to finish ahead of the sheep is what is needed at Ibrox? Think we have to aim higher than that.
