I have stood by our manager and certain players but, after today, it is time for a re-think. Certain players were not fit, others, not motivated. At the end of the day if you pull on that blue jersey that should be motivation enough but some do not realise that. Ally do your job or else stand aside and let someone else take us forward. {Ed013's Note - Ally stood by Rangers when he could have walked, some players are clearly taking it for granted, but keep the faith}

Believable20 Unbelievable14

Keep the faith? One up against a ten man team of part time players? Why did he not go three or even four up and stretch them on the big pitch? Living on his reputation and the turmoil of the summer.

Agree27 Disagree7

Ally stuck it out because he has no where else to go his managerial career is disastrous and know one would touch him with a barge pole if he was successful and attracting interest from down south he would have been first out the door

Agree16 Disagree11

Ally picks up his wage and free shares cause he knows no one else would have him

Agree17 Disagree10

Let us stop going on about not walking away cos it is hiding real issue.ally moved whole team around to make sure mcculloch stayed on end off

Agree10 Disagree6

Ally stood by rangers? He had absolutely nowhere to go, he got paid a fortune and still is, ..... His utterances were embarrassing at best, he appeared bonkers at times and confused and don't mention the dangerous tribunal stuff.......more trouble than good.

Agree18 Disagree6

We were winning comfortably at 1-0, was just an unfortunate howler by neil whoch cost us the points.

Agree9 Disagree13

As manager McCoist has been a massive disappointment he should never been offered the job let alone accept it.
How is he bringing the club forward? we cant even dictate the play to part timers, no wonder he needs £10 million to win the 2nd division. Come on Bears face reality, we all love Ally but a manager he aint.......time to go!

Agree13 Disagree5

I thought andy little was very very poor yesterday he didnt look interested and i know hes out of position but against ten men he should have done a lot more and the goalie in my opinion is good enough for where we are but not going forward id like to see what wev got as back up getting some game time.
ed what is wrong with kyle again. {Ed001's Note - he picked up a knock, should be back.}

Agree2 Disagree2

@6 are you Walter Smith? Honestly we have played so negatively for years now its accepted by our fans now, football is an entertainment.

Agree9 Disagree2

@6. Your statement is bizarre. Are you ever comfortable at 1-0? Always a chance of a freak goal or a screamer into the top corner as was proved.

bears i posted a couple of weeks ago that your boycott of dundee utd was pig headed and stupid. nothing has changed, the league is won, you have one meaningful game left between now and august. just read the last posts about todays game and yes, crap. and thats it for the rest of the season, meaningless and boring . the one game that really matters and you are sending your team without support . this watp and rtid attitude is pathetic. nobody cares, i'm already at the stage of, i hope you never come back, i don't miss you. your boycott of dundee utd is only hurting one set of people, and thats your team . a bunch of wee laddies being sent to an spl club with no support . just think win that and you might get to play a team from the top 16 in europe .. you really have to stop spitting the dummy and get on with it . your stance and defiance against the spl is like the football your watching . pointless and boring, get your arses up to tannadice and support your team, if you win you will regret not being there .. shammy

Believable39 Unbelievable29

What will happen if the game goes to a replay? Does the boycott continue? Utd would be due 40% of the gate.

Agree27 Disagree7

05 Jan 2013 23:10:12
Oh and just because the mighty (ahem) gammy says we must not boycott then it must be so? I've only got two words for you chummy and the last word is off, you pick the first one :-)

Agree13 Disagree17

Dont see how our stance of defiance is pointless and boring, i think most people have taken notice, most of the media, SPL, SFA and quite obviously you by the fact that youve had to post so just concentrate on your own team, you dont need to worry about us, but thanks for your concern and a the best in the last sixteen.
AJM.

Agree12 Disagree11

If rangers were let into the spl would you of boycotted any team who voted them back in as so many celtic fans threatened to do. Not only celtic fans threatened a boycott. Personally, i am sick of the hypocrites who are slaughtering us for deciding not to attend the game when most clubs fans threatened to do the same, and many celtic fans have already boycotted games this season for political motives, do you hate them? Do you demand that they never return to celtic park since you dont want us backfor a boycott? Or or or is it your deep laying hatred of everything rangers makes you jump on the anti rangers bandwagon and moan. Its went from banter to boring and quickly reaching pathetic

Agree11 Disagree10

What if i dont want to give untd my money...yes my money, money that is in short supply....i hope that fans go to to the rangers shop with the money they would have spent at untd....time to think of OUR club and not people who wanted us dead, yes Thompson and untd fans wanted us dead and you say its boring now. i hope this is only the start
i, ll never forget or forgive some peoples reaction to rangers tumble into the 3rd division ...its our money rangers fans spend the blue pounds wisely...spend it on rangers...les

Agree12 Disagree11

All spl chairmen asked their fans if they wanted to vote rangers in or out, the fans had their say it was out, thats how they felt thats how it went, now rangers fans have their say and thoughts we are being childish, if its good enough for the goose as they say ................. larky ellis

Agree9 Disagree5

Game won't goto a replay, utd will pump us, wouldn't surprise me if Ian black gets found out and gets sent off.

Agree15 Disagree3

Shammy if you are already at the stage of not wanting us back why the hell are you interested in anything that we do. you dont want us back so stay out of any conversations regarding rangers then and it wont bend your neck. also why would we wont to play celtic when the supposed gap between us and yous is massive, me personally i dont want to go near parkhead or them near ibrox you my friend clearly are desperate for a return from rangers if only to supposedly inflict some kind of dammage, and i do believe if we beat utd and draw celtic it would be damage limitation on our part so i dont want any part of that outcome so may the picket continue at utd

What you doing posting on a rangers banter site shame-ay.i keep reading your narrow minded buckfast induced verbal vomit about how its not the same rangers, old firm is dead nonsense.yawn mate your suffering from severe old firm withdrawal symptoms you spend every waking minute obsessing over a 3rd division club!!stickin your 2pence in about boycotts that's got fk all to do with you go take your face for a rubbish soft lad we'll deal with your mob when the situation arrives don't worry your little cotton socks you'll put yourself into an early grave son.no rangers have left a massive void in your life if the gers were in sphell your mob wouldn't be 9 points clear that's for sure your only as good as your last game d*ck splash which was a 1 nil defeat by the gadge-acticos hibs

Agree7 Disagree11

Meaningless SPL? Meaningless? You mean the league that if, you are succesful in, gains you entry into Champions League or Uefa League. That sound really meaningless. Damn, no entry to The Ramsdens Cup though. Bummer.

Agree9 Disagree5

Celtic wanted you dead too, so please make sure, if you are ever in the SPL to boycott Parkhead for as long as possible.

Joeshmo1888

Agree18 Disagree2

@ les. So if a replay is the outcome what will you do?

Re 5) spot on, so many people forget their threats, much of it based on getting a free run to win league.

Im a Celtic fan and have just read the views here, I personally dont care if someone wants to boycott for whatever reason, but to have the decision taken out of your hands by green annoys most of my gers mates and I know i like following my team and you can voice your objections by supporting for your team
DB77

Agree7 Disagree2

Charles Green asked the fans if they wanted the ticket allocation or not, he did not just refuse without due consultation first.
AJM.

Agree4 Disagree8

No16) Spot on.

I think a boycott is a fans right. I don't believe anyone can challenge a fan for choosing not to attend a game, and sincerely believing that it's the best thing to do (for whatever reason) is as good a reason as any.

In this regard, I believe the Rangers fans are correct.

Where I think it's went wrong, is in Charles Greens comments leading up to, and including the official statement and 'official' participation in the boycott. Not only does it cease to be a fans own decision, in the regard that fans who would go are now not permitted, but it reeks of unprofessionalism.

At a time when Rangers are looking to build to the future, and re-establish the club (I don't buy into this oldco/newco pash) then stoking the fires of old rivalries (outwith Football) isn't the best idea. I know that Charles Green likes to play to the gallery, and that's fine, he's got a product to sell, and he's a fine salesman, but at times it does become incredulous.

This is one such time.

The Patient

Agree3 Disagree3

I, ll go to ibrox and go round to where the untd fans come in and give them dogs abuse hopefuly there are plenty of fans there early to give Thompson a right good earful and make it as uncomfortable as possible for Thompson and his cohorts as they come in the door nothing more than that, but to go there means i have given money to people who wanted my club dead...that means everyone...aberdeen, celtic anyone

Watched and listened to the match today . Too many show ponies . And what game was Tom Miller at ? Commentary bore no resemblance to play .

Paddy Malarkey

Believable22 Unbelievable6

Tom Miller is without doubt the worst commentator ever to sit behind a microphone. Shame really as the co-commentators are usually quite good.

Agree15 Disagree5

Could'nt agree more mate.Does he not know it's within his remmit to also critisize.Alan Mclaren made an excellelant co-commentator last week.

We have sunk to a new low now, 1-1 with Elgin at ibrox, come on ally do the right thing, chuck it {Ed013's Note - Cant win them all mate}

Believable22 Unbelievable9

Why not win them all, this div 3 and parttimers and amateurs, low paid no £14million training ground, if cannot beat these how can you moun challenge in spl or cl? {Ed001's Note - that is why the cups can throw up shock results, because no one can win them all.}

Agree3 Disagree4

Bit of a blasé riposte ed. surely being 1-0 up inside 10 mins then playing against 10 p/t players for over a half should surely expect a winning result?
Also forgot about the huge support booing them on!! {Ed001's Note - it happens at every level of the game. Teams lose a man and up their game, chase harder and go beyond their normal game, while the team with the extra man struggle to break them down and lose a goal.}

Agree5 Disagree4

Well ed at the start of the season many thought rangers would win every game, {Ed001's Note - they clearly have no understanding of sport in general. People raise their game or lower it to the level of the opposition over time. There were always going to be poor results at times, especially when the pitches started to cut up a bit.}

Agree2 Disagree3

Media pundits all over scotland insisted Rangers would go through the season winning every game, then they changed it to not dropping points at home.

Lets be fair McCoist may have been your finest striker, may have been a great ambassador for your club, may have been faithful throughout 2012......but as a manager he is pi55 poor!

what was todays team all about lewis was back in without doubt no problem with that got a problem when black hutton and lewis are all playing together two defensive midfielders at home mccoist has only got him self to blame stop picking these overrated players crawford got a goal last week but aint even in squad man up mccoist
and keep the team the same when it wins regardless we dont what to see black cribara shields get a game just on there reputaion we need team spirit and younger ones are showing more than them . can sum please answer how many clean sheets alaxander has kept considering he is on high wages i would expect better {Ed013's Note - How many points are Rangers clear? chill mate}

Believable15 Unbelievable7

Chill? You must be joking! Rangers are a team of professionals plying against boys who prob get together 2 to 3 times a week! Every result like today's make rangers look like absolute diddies! True they are miles ahead in the league but anything less would be an absolute disgrace! And yes you have dropped points!

Agree10 Disagree4

Doesnt matter how many points we mite be clear if this was the spl rangers would be getting beat every weekend to many overpaid players who will not be there when we get to top division mccoist is the manager and if u look at his record in spl europe cup games ect it aint good wait till he starts spending this money he has ment to have he will waist it on more duds

Agree5 Disagree1

"Chill" come on Ed this is dire Super Ally time is over, just waiting for him to do the right thing WALK

Agree5 Disagree0

ED 013, Chill? Surely at this level fans are entitled to ask for advancement? {Ed013's Note - Course you are mate, but sometimes it isn't going to be great and results have to be grinded out. Rangers re-building will take time}

Agree0 Disagree1

Im a celtic fan and would like to give an opinion on certain results this season. Every so called small team that plays against old firm treat it as their cup final so are always up for it and make things difficult .Yesterdays result at ibrox, celtic struggling against arbroath and so on, it happens all the time. So get rid of the manager seems to be the best way forward after these type of results, please fans give the managers a break.jamie

P*sh today again.
Travelling Elgin, amateurs.
The ten men thing is getting really embarrassing.

Believable31 Unbelievable5

Another game against 10 men, how many times has that happened? Special treatment helping yous win in div 3?

Agree24 Disagree9

@1. Lol. You seriously need to see someone if you honestly think that mate. Try the conspiracy forum (links to other boards at top of main page). I hear it is good for a laugh and will be full of your mates by all accounts so you would be made very welcome, lol. Thanks though, I needed a laugh after today's result.

The game today should have been won long before the Alexander blunder. I thought Mcculloch, Little and Templeton had stinkers.The rest of the team were mediocre bar Wallace who showed at least a degree of ability and willingness to get forward.Must be the worst result of the season.

Believable24 Unbelievable3

Getting beat by the team holding up the whole of scottish football, has to be the worst.

Agree13 Disagree3

05 Jan 2013 18:18:21
Shocking today. Players went through the motions and thought the game had been won at half time. McCoist is a terrible manager and hasn't a clue. Anyone could sit top of that league with the resources at his disposal and I do fear for us under him when we move up the leagues. I am not confident that his team would win the first division and he certainly won't win the SPL. McCoist has been saved by the turmoil at the club. Hopeless manager with a shocking record in the cups against rubbish

Believable27 Unbelievable6

Why does he go on telly the last two days spouting his opinion on things nobody can influence instead of concentrating on the team and winning? Was his mind in Marbella?

Agree13 Disagree2

I am really starting to dislike my former hero Ally McCoist, he is undoubtedly an awful manager, but now he appears to be a corporate puppet, how the mighty have fallen.

Morning Ed. I'm a Rangers fan, season ticket holder and I have been to most away games this season also. So I am as big a fan of Rangers as any.

One thing that bothers me, is this whole idea that a Rangers fan is not a real Rangers fan if he shows any kind of interest in Celtic. This is ridiculous. The thing that makes the Old Firm derby the best in world football is the banter between fans who know how to keep it at just that, banter! Rangers fans claiming Celtic are obsessed and vice versa, bore off. Do I have an interest in what's going on at Celtic? Damn right, that's what makes it the biggest rivalry in football. Anyone who claims otherwise is putting on a front to "fit in".

Almost as boring as Celtic fans still calling Rangers sevco, and Rangers fans calling Celtic Pacific Shelf. It's childish and petty. Rangers, despite being in Division 3, are regularly drawing the largest crowds in Scotland. And they all know as well as we do, that we WILL be back. Despite what they might say to look cool in front of their pals, this is as sure as the nose on your face. Celtic have reached the last 16 of the Champions League and beaten Barcelona in the process and both teams will win their respective leagues, as expected, by big margins.

So I can assure all Celtic fans that we are very much alive and well. As is the Old Firm Derby. I for one have missed it immensely this year, and I make no apology for that. It is only a matter of time before we are going head to head again and the one thing that Scottish Football has to be proud of is back and as good as ever.

So let's drop the petty, pathetic stuff, it's really boring and bordering on sad now.

SC93 {The Ed039's Note - the vast majority of Celtic fans on here are great banter like Briggs, mrs e and tomalley, but unfortunately you get tubes like Stevo who ruin the fun that is supposed to be on these pages and the same will go the other way with the nameless bigots who try and post here too from our side but overall the banter here is usually quite good)

Believable12 Unbelievable19

The problem woth a good few is they actually hate rangers more than they love celtic.

They watch rangers games online streaming then moan about the quality of football.

Its beyond an obsession with many of them who cant sleep at night with rage at every time mccoist or green make comments which simply dont fit into
Their narrow minded thinking.

They will also go on about they hated the old firm brand yet would pack out parkhead and scramble for tickets for ibrox.

Agree9 Disagree17

Tomalley... that has to stick lol. CheltBlue

I agree with this poster and the Ed the quicker we get back to old firm games and decent banter the better for both clubs and Scottish football a great post.

When will Ally stop bleating about They've got it so we want it? He knew at the start of the season he would'nt be getting a winter break. He's now morphing into Green. When he's at the big table he'll get what he wants until then get on with it!!

Believable31 Unbelievable25

FFS Ally didn't call a press conference to complain about the winter break. He was asked his opinion and gave an answer. The Timmys are really showin their hatred towards Ally. Havin a go at him for his appearance and the slightest thing he does!
Hatred really does flow through their veins.
Gavla

Agree13 Disagree18

Its more to do with the split in Scottish football than the actual winter break. CheltBlue

Agree5 Disagree5

Exactly. He spat the dummy on TV and said he wanted div3. So can have no complaints. The top tier are all on a break, he'll get his break when he works his way to top tier. Maybe it's just him needs a rest?

can't believe people are calling for ian black to be sold already. the guy, along with sandaza, has only been here a few months. as much as i enjoy watching macleod and hutton playing together due to them being homegrown players, i do feel we need experienced spl players to get us back where we belong. i do agree he hasn't had the best start but it would be hard to maintain the performances against inferior opposition, there is always the risk that the players drop down to the level of the other players in division 3, but it is their job not to fall into that trap. fans need to get behind the guy as long as he wears the light blue of rangers, and give him a bit more time to settle in to life at the biggest team in scotland.

leo

Believable17 Unbelievable11

Leo, Black and Sandaza are experienced professionals picking up the highest wages in the SFL.

Rangers need to be ruthless with this kinda thing, if we want to be back to playing in the Premier League in Scotland and indeed Europe...passengers need to be off loaded.

Celtic got Tony Watt from Airdire, Rangers got Black from Hearts when no-one else wanted him, he was given a 'chance' and look whats happened.

No, you don't need to get behind every tom, dick & harry who pulls on a rangers jersey..just the players that put their heart and soul into it.

We are allowed our opinions, ally isn't a manager IMO and I should be allowed to say so.
