I propose that which ever league they put us in that we ... First home game fill Ibrox and grounds outside ie car parks etc...First away game fill away end (which obviously won't be hard) and also turn up en masse outside which ever ground it may, and show the world what a MASSIVE club we are and will always be ! agree-yes

Believable18 Unbelievable16

A massive club? Sevco have not started a match yet. {Ed039's Note - Booooooooooring)

Agree4 Disagree8

17000 against dundee utd and you expect about 70,000 at your first home game? Don't talk pish! It will be a few high crowds to start with then it will go down to 15000 for your home games except maybe for the big games against Patrick or Cowdenbeath were you might get 17500! You have shown the world how big a club you are by going out of business, not paying other clubs for players, bumping the taxpayer ,ni,the ambulance service along with a host of others out of millions. But you have probably forgot about all that now.

Briggs

Agree5 Disagree5

Fantastic idea mate we have to stay strong and go in numbers otherwise we have @1 sevco boy shouting from the rooftops crying we havent been totally killed off,

Briggs and you have shown us just how much you despise anything rangers yet your still here banging on with your pointless posts...mark.

Agree0 Disagree2

Let me ask if i've got this right. i've read on here that celtic park will be empty by xmas because we will be so far in front it will be boring. but now you are expecting us to believe that if 2012 are romping the third that you will be packing out stadiums { and car parks} all season. briggs got it wrong ,after a couple of months you will be lucky if you get 5000 crowds.. 40,000 crowds against annan or berwick , if you are going to the bar pal i'll have a pint of what you're drnking,, shamrock

Agree1 Disagree0

Bit like the pattern the "crowds" at breezeblock towers shall inevitably follow next season too Briggsy.

Our only hope is to get behind Charles green we have no choice .lets face it he has stated anyone who wants to join him is more than able to bring their money to the table but I don't think any off them will .where we're these people when we really needed them if their only interest was in saving the club I'm sure there was enough off them to club together but no they all wanted to buy it on the cheap.

If we are demoted to sfl3 will we go parttime?
Are there any full time clubs outside SPL?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

You are not being demoted! you are a new club seeking a place in the SFL.Jeeze........green jhedi

Agree6 Disagree3

Yes there are lots and some of them also have electricity and plumbed in toilets. Youll feel very welcome, as long as you learn football songs. We dont do religious history in the SFL.

Agree3 Disagree1

A new company actually oh wise jehdi master, the clue's in the word "newco". Same club. The statement: Rangers have been demoted, most certainly makes perfect sense. You'll soon get used to it- gers in division 1/3 will be the only thing worth talking about in Scottish football next season. Much like we were THE story last year too.

Agree2 Disagree2

@2 Now, now, the ST Mirren and Greenock Morton derby isn't exactly all tea and biscuits you know. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

To no 2 , u dont do religous but its fine to sing about other issues like carbon monoxide song to the dunfermline fans aye mate we are not the only club that has issues and p.s if we have a free weekend i go to a couple of sfl games.
craig+babybear

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with this man here mr Jhedi. Newco means new company, the club is the fans and the following etc. Rangers only became a plc in 1899..so by your reasoning mr Jhedi does that mean that they are a different club from the one founded in 1873?

Just a quick question if and prob when we go to div 3 will it also be accompanied with sanctions , reading all the posts in the past few weeks its what most o us want so how can we say its a punishment , 3 year ban from europe is not a punishment its because of a requirement we cannot fulfull 160k fine were not going to pay keeping players we have not paid for , all we really got was a 10 point deduction and by that time we had already lost the league , so fellow bears lets be honest with ourselfs

Believable6 Unbelievable2

The problem is that the oldco is the company that should be punished. If they are going into liquidation, then thats all and there is nothing else that can really be done.

Newco shouldn't be punished because its a different entity. Its completely stupid to do such a thing because it only discourages new owners i.e. Charles Green, who haven't done anything wrong (yet), from investing in buisness opportunities.

Like I said elsewhere, if Burger King went into liquidation and McDonalds decided to by the assets and transfer the staf over, then you wouldn't punish McDonalds for doing this. Thats what everybody seems to be forgetting. The newco is owned by someone completely different from the oldco, etc.

John brown reckons it would take 20m to buyout green... 40,000 fans x £500 each = 20m easy!

Believable3 Unbelievable8

And who will fund the running costs? Season ticket cash?........green jhedi

Agree5 Disagree2

You actually believe 40,000 bears would pledge that kinda money to a deluded idiot like Bomber?

I certainly like the idea of a fan's buyout but not if it is fronted by an ageing ned who makes a clown of himself every time he opens his mouth. BB

Fellow Bears.

Worth reading an excellent and comprehensive statement released today by Bill Darroch, Chairman of Stenhousemuir.

It gives an excellent overview of the options open to the SFL clubs and the pros and cons each option carries.

What's very interesting is Bill Darroch's revelation that Regan is insisting Newco receive a year long transfer embargo in addition to a substantial fine. Staggering...I thought being kicked out of the SPL would have satisfied the bloodlust...but clearly not.

What I find very interesting in this extremely flawed plan hatched by the SPL/SFA is the assumption Ramgers will automatically gain promotion from SFL1 after a season out and suddenly everything in the SPL will be back to normal.

Given the mass exodus of star players and the calibre of those that remain, I honestly do not see us gaining promotion from SFL1 next season. SFL3 probably but not SFL1 where the standard of teams and squads is actually better than many of us give it credit for.

If my fellow bears dispute my concerns, I will sign off with this closing remark to back up my point of concern. Our esteemed manager is wanting to resign Kerkar! Yup the great Kerkar! McCoist clearly has not learned from last close season panic buys e.g. Ortiz....

If the SFA/SPL expect us back after a season out, the transfer embargo needs to be withdrawn....but it sounds like Regan ntends for it to stand despite the Court of Session's ruling....

SPM

Believable3 Unbelievable2

@SPM;I am of the opinion that it is wrong to impose sanctions or punishments on newco, they are a new team who have done nothing wrong. However, they are being cut an enormous bit of slack by being shoe horned into Division one. If,on the other hand it is Division three there should be no punishments levied against them..........green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree1

Hi Green Jhedi. I personally am hoping for SFL3 for the sole reason it will be one of the few things which may allow RFC to at least resurrect itself with a degree of dignity. I'd rather no concessions were made for us - partly because they are only being made for commercial reasons which flies in the face of all the talk of "sporting integrity" and also because if we are in SFL3 then it should carry absolutely zero sanctions.

I truly believe if we are manoeuvred into the SFL1 it will not guarantee a return to the SPL within a season, unless the transfer embargo is rescinded or at least relaxed somewhat.

Hopefully SFL3 shall be the decision...for me it should be the only consideration.

Bears

How we all feeling?

The reality of the club I love being liquidated and thus extinct is hitting me hard.
No matter what way we look at it, wir history was Ranger FC, and that was the club and the company.
I was a debenture holder, shareholder and season ticket holder, they were investments in Rangers FC not a company but a club. That club is gone.
The gates at Ibrox say "Rangers Football Club Ltd" no 2 ways about it.
We've got nothing left apart from the indignity of idiots like Walter coming out AFTER the club went out of business and Bomber coming out with ridiculous statements making us all look like fools.
We stood by and expected someone to come in and keep us going, we couldn't unite behind one organisation, be it the RFFF, Assembly, Union or association.
Too add insult to injury and to rub salt into the wounds the club I supported and watched all the way as they matched Celtic's 9IAR will be stripped of titles.
It's all historic now but I'm empty and I think the reality of it
Is starting to hit home to my other bears.

Believable18 Unbelievable13

what a joke, nobody expects theses plaayers to play in the lower leagues, and prob had it written in his contract after what happened he could leave on the cheap

I wish the well meaning ex Rangers would button their lips at the moment,Messers Brown,Goram et al,it is not helping one bit, they are constantly spouting off about things they ,think, they know about,i know that they mean well, but, set egos aside, the clubs position within Scottish football shoul be paramount at this time,Mr Green has stated our case quite eloquently, let him do the job of securing some kind of sanity to our beloved club, time is not on our side,we have have enough snipers having a pop, lets settle down, and get our great club on an even keel.Rangers will fight back where it matters, not in the press, but on the park, this is a watershed for our club, stay together, and support our club.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

I see Andy Goram is now bumping his gums telling green to sell to John brown they keep saying not to buy season tickets am I wrong in thinking that a football club would use this money to I don't know run the football club the guy is trying to get the club sorted but everyday there seems to be someone else calling him out for something to which he has to respond to and that is taking time away from more pressing matters like a league to play in, they go on about investment that was supposed to be there why would anyone invest when the fans won't even buy season books I do not want John brown running our club everytime he talks he sounds like a hooligan and the statement about green that would get him hunted down but I am not saying what was said simply by making that statement people are going to be gunning for him let us move forward if you really want the club make all your plans public knowledge doubt that will happen when u couldn't even answer a couple of questions on Clyde 1

Believable14 Unbelievable1

05 Jul 2012 15:33:46
Anybody else think John Brown ad whoever is crazy enough to support him shoudl start their own team ? We would quite happily rent Ibrox to them every second week and they could apply to be in the SFL 3 too. They can take all the bigots and idiots that have caused embarassment and financial fines on our club with them. I was a great admirer of Brown before all this nonsense. I fear the man has lost the plot. He is asking for transparency but wont tell us what was said to him. He also has no money so is another trying to do a Craig Whyte using the fans to reap the rewards. Charles Green was and is the only guy to put forward some cash when needed. He also tried for a CVA as well. I say give him a chance.

Mr Sporting Integrity

Believable16 Unbelievable5

Couldn't agree more the guy slags off green for using fans money which he hasn't yet and how does brown want to buy the club by using our money if he is that concerned about green why not take up the invitation to invest and sit on the board and make sure things are running properly oh wait he cant he has no money, green is the only game in town we either back him or it will be a legend and the fans that will eventually kill off our great club how's that for irony

Agree3 Disagree1

Show me a bigger rangers fan in that team with brown, do you realy think he will rob rangers fans money? i foe one dont! he is trying to make sure the money stays in rangers and not greens 1 year down the line. he may not be the best frontman but says it like your average would say it.

Agree2 Disagree4

A playing legend yes, a passionate rangers fan yes, the right man to take our club forward not a chance if he is that confident his plan is the best publish it in a paper he says he wants the fans to have cotrol well let us see every document he has and let us decide if it is right. Green has been accused of a lot of things but everytime he has proved them wrong i have said why doesnt he take green up on his offer and invest and be there to make sure things dont go t*ts up again and the investors that brown did name on clyde 1 have a great history would trust green before them anyday i will be there supporting our club regardless of where they are playing

Personal opinion here, all the other teams have made there choice and now whatever consequences befall them is of their own making.
All Rangers fans should get together and settle our differences once and for all and get behind Charles Green.
I wasn't that convinced at first but he seems to be making the right noises for me at the moment. Myself, whatever division I would like to see Ibrox full to the brim on our first game of the season if its third or first division.
Let the rest know we are still Rangers.

Believable19 Unbelievable5

They don't do unity, haven't you realised that yet? Five of them probably couldn't agree on the colour of an orange.

Agree2 Disagree2

But with no history, and by the way if the other clubs suffer it will only hit rangers eventually

Agree1 Disagree2

Sadly, these "consequences" were not of their own making. Only one party to blame for this undignified mess. This comment demonstrates that the Newco will indeed be the same as the Oldco. Very sad.

Agree2 Disagree1

Lets all get behind our team lets go to division 3 work our way up the leagues with our heads held high and on the way up those teams that kicked us when we were down and hurting look over there shoulders cos were coming back to the spl and we got good memories of the teams that gave us a good kicking thats if there still alive

PRESS STATEMENT: Scottish Football League clubs are, over the next few days, being asked to make a crucial decision as to whether we are in a position to accommodate Rangers into the SFL. I can confirm that, at this point, no decision has been taken by the Board of the SFL or by any of our clubs.

The time has come for all outside influences and pressures to stop. This is our national game and part of our culture so I ask all other bodies to leave it to those who have been put in this invidious position to make a decision in the best possible interests of our game.

I have every faith in the judgement of those clubs and their Boards to make a considered and reasoned decision which will be in the best interests of the game, how it is structured, how it is governed and how it is financed.

A specially convened meeting of all clubs is planned for Friday, 13th July, 2012.

I agree up to a point but if majority of rangers fans and football fans want rangers in div 3 but if the clubs are not able to cope with the loss of revenue then are these clubs who are dependant on rangers income being run with in their means ?

Agree3 Disagree2

I think the time to stop apologising has now arrived.David Murray and that fud Whyte have a lot to answer for not Rangers. You can only say sorry so many times and if it's not accepted to hell with everybody. The simple fact is we are hated because we have been so sucessful for over a hundred years, and we have a large Protestant support.I am what i am i make no apologies for that.We will take our punishment in the third division, and watch the rest of Scottish football squirm like rats .

Agree3 Disagree3

I totally applaud ur post mate! I'm a Celtic fan but I do feel sorry for the good fans like urself! I still think u's should go to div 3 and when u's return to the SPL u's will have earned ur respect back and hopefully have a sustainable business in place! I hope this is all sorted out asap as it's dragged on far too long! I really do feel for the good, honest rangers fans out there.

Byars

Agree3 Disagree1

As a real rangers fan I agree we should take what ever punishment is given to us! However if going to the 3rd would mean more spl teams going bust then I really don't think we should be put to the 3rd, as this is about more than "sporting integrity" it's about the future of scottish football! and I think rangers fans would be lying if when the sfl decision comes back and it's the 1st div I would have a smile on my face I must admit, for me goin to the 3rd could destroy us more players would leave surely wallace an internatinal can't play 3rd div football, we would be full of journey men and there would be no guarantees we would come back up like 3-2-1-spl! like I said I'll support the team no matter where there playing, but I'd be a fibber if I said I didn't wont the 1st next season! *ksd*

Agree2 Disagree2

Nicely put m8,& what do you think this new entity will be called?as there is no rangers,as they are lying waiting too be liquidated when BDO step in...Its law that any buisness cant be associated with the old company,so there will need to be a new name, new badge crest, also have they been accepted for a liscence?who actually has the keys to ibrox& murray park,is whyte still involved, wheres the finances coming from?still loads of unanswerd questions...

Agree3 Disagree2

Utter nonsense.

I have supported Rangers since I was a wee boy and not once have I made a decision or profited from Rangers.

There is no we - it was SDM'S greed and CW's tax avoidance that brought about this situation.

SPL clubs claim sporting integrity but really they wish to use this situation to gain funds they can't generate on their own. ICT have 19 home games per year and their total attendance is about 80000 and you can be sure they will vote for splitting gate receipts with the 10 other clubs.

Greed, greed and more greed

We are turning into an exhibition league.

can someone tell me why your club should or will be allowed into div3 as in the rule books you need to have 3 years of accounts to gain league status. and newco have only been formed for a few weeks. so without the sfa breaking its OWN rules can you tell my why you would or should gain advantage over spartans and cove rankers who have done nothing wrong and suck by the rules. so why should newco get preference over these other teams.

hail hail

Marco1888

Believable12 Unbelievable12

Marco1888 :There's no guarantee that Rangers/Sevco will be playing in Div 3 next season. As supporters, we've indicated that Div 3 is our preferred choice but SFA clubs STILL have to vote on it.

Agree3 Disagree0

OK, Marco1888 (what a strange name, who thought of adding numbers to your name?). Kick Rangers out of Scottish football, then the "withering on the vine" will happen a lot quicker than Reagan predicts. I have been going to Ibrox for over 40years and don't think we should escape punishment or get preferential treatment but the so called sporting integrity argument to kick us out does not hold water when the SPL and SFA are now trying to force the SFL clubs into putting us into Div 1. Kill the club completely and every non rangers fan will be delighted at that moment but in a few years time when instead of 4 leagues of 10, you will be lucky if there are 10 full time teams to make one top league. The vast majority of Rangers fans want to go to Div 3 because that is what we deserve, not out of spite, but unlike every other fan in Scotland, we have no say in the matter. So, we know on this site that most Celtic fans,or people who spell their names with an h in it, are financial experts who tell us that the demise of the most successful side in the world would not have an impact on Scottish football. However all the CEOs and chairman of the clubs will tell you different, but they don't have the advantage of going to the Parkhead school of economics for numpties.

Agree2 Disagree2

Been saying that Marco for ages, apparently the game needs Rangers. I think we deserve what we got but I certainly would like to see especially the SPL implode with no money as well.

Agree1 Disagree1

One reason mate and thats money. Be under no illusions mate rangers is not the root of most of the problems in the scottish game, just the final piece of straw that broke the back. Im reading that probably 3 or 4 clubs will go to the wall if sevco goes to sfl3 and to be honest tough titty if they do, its survival of the fittest now mate or as some people put it 'sporting integrty' has won. We will all be in for 7-10 years of absolute cr*p football in this country if we are lucky

Agree0 Disagree0

Only if you can tell us why you are bothered by this, and don't give us the usual " I'm not bothered " pi$h because if you were not bothered you would stop posting about a team you don't like

Now all of a sudden scottish football could die if we go to D3 ? Good i say you make your bed you can lie in it! rangers fans have been punished not david murry and craig s**te so its our turn to vote what league we want to apply to

Believable31 Unbelievable21

Rangers fans have not been punished! The club you happen to support has been punished with a ten point deduction and a 160k fine, which will never be paid.Stop trying to make out your victims here,it's a by product of who you supported.

Agree11 Disagree8

Really? are you serious??

Did you even think that through?

Scottish football didnt make this bed, Old Rangers did. the Other clubs then had to look at an entirely new club joining the league setup and decided it was wrong that a new club should walk straight in to the top tier! This is the right thing to do.

This is not punishment. Far from it. Newco is not being demoted the old Rangers effectively defaulted on their position in the scottish game by not adhering to rules and going into Liquidation the new club is being seen as exactly that a new club.

I agree the fans have had it hard and feel sorry for the honest football fans amongst you all. But its your turn to vote what league your new team go into? seriously! have you paid any attention over the last few months?

You either applied for the spot in the SPL or apply to the SFL. the existing clubs in each are to determine new clubs position in the league structure not the fans of the new club or the old club. Is this so really hard to understand

And yet you probably wonder why there is so little sympathy for newco club? well it is for arrogance and ignorance like this.

I dont normally post on this site but i could not let that slip such nonsense.

We won't be allowed to go to the 3rd div whatever we say. In the name of "sporting integrity" it will be Div 1 or spl2. You know this integrity where we pay to keep spl clubs afloat under a raft of punishments. The hypocrisy is staggering, only way it wont happen is if div1 teams stand together but sadly they won't. Gers fans overwhelmingly support div3, maybe the loudmouths from these spl clubs can threaten another bhoycott, no probably won't. Bigger hypocrites.

Agree1 Disagree3

Listen guys I agree with your sentiments with regards Div3 and sporting integrity. However I am with Charles Green on this, whereby we will leave the vote to the SFL to decide, and we will do that without influence. Nobody would like to hurt the likes of Dundee Utd and Aberdeen, Hibs etc more than me but I think the impact on the SFL clubs has been lost in this argument. Rangers in Div 3 will kill many of these clubs. Do we really want that ? My view is that we have made our views known that we prefer the 3rd, but if these SFL clubs think it is better for them that we are in the 1st we accept and support our team regardless. Either way it's a long haul, but will be made much easier with 40000 of us together .....

Agree5 Disagree2

It ain gers fault other teams cash depends on what div we play in

Agree0 Disagree3

Every other team in the spl keeps going on about sporting integrity if that means div3 then lets go and see who falls by the way side when we work our way up the league the other spl chairmen asked the fans what they wanted to take the heat from them so if there club dies as a result of us going to div3 then they got wot they asked for we will come back stronger and watch with a smile as all around us folds like a deck of cards

Andy Goram confidently states on Sky that newco Rangers going into SFL Div 1 is “a done deal. It has already been decided.”

Goram says newco already assured they are going in Div 1 and adds “I don't know why they are delaying for another week in announcing it.“

Perhaps tellingly Goram says Regan's “a million per cent right“ that they must be in Div 1 after SFA chief again states his case for Div 1

So if Goram is right- the SFL vote on July 12 is a total sham- a huge con trick being played on the Scottish public. Fans must demand truth

Believable20 Unbelievable8

Not a done deal, but certainly a stitch-up. The SFL clubs will face a SFA-sanctioned SPL2 if they don't go for SFL1 option. I suppose the top SFL clubs could refuse to play in it, but then they will never get promoted to SPL.

Likewise Bomber Brown came out with the same claim, how he would claim to know I have no idea, maybe he's been on the sauce again and just imagined it. Then again maybe he's the latest in this saga to be duped. LOL

Can you imagine Marks & Spencers business plan being, we need to keep John Lewis as our biggest competitor and feed from the sales that they bring to the area.
We should go to division3, in my opinion it is the only honourable thing to do. If clubs die as a consequence then tough, they should not have a business plan that is dependant on us!
Not palatable for some fans to hear but with our population Scotland has too many clubs. Some should find a level appropriate to their own business, others should merge and or ground share. Get to a two league sysyem of 12 teams with play offs and promotion from the appropriate junior league system included which is where many of these clubs should be.
Folk are quick to jump on the band wagon about our history, I wonder what steos they will take to protect their owm. EG place us in SFL1.
One new governing body and I can suggest who teh chief executive shouldn't be, Stewart Regan is a gisgrace, "social disruption" the an should be forced out of scottish football.

We will be back and we will still be here in the years to come. How many other clubs can say the same!

All these 'sqeaky clean' chairmen and fans of SPL clubs and the SFA big wigs kick us out of SPL (and rightly so) based on sporting intergrity... But we're being rail roaded in to division one. I have been at Ibrox when crowds of 10,000 and less and it is no fun.

A presentation by the Rangers chairman, Malcolm Murray – described as “a disgrace” by one of those present – sank the last hopes of the newco club making a return to the Scottish Premier League at Hampden Park on Wednesday.

The expectation beforehand within the SPL – shared by the Scottish Football Association – was that the outcome would be another deferral, leaving it to the Scottish Football League clubs to accept Rangers into their ranks and sparing the top division chairmen from a decision they did not want to make.
There were also some who hoped that Rangers would be able to make sufficient case – coupled with a clear and evident change of attitude – for their admission to the SPL.

However – and not for the first time in this saga – Rangers utterly misread the mood of the other SPL clubs. The faux pas occurred despite the fact that Rangers had been briefed at a meeting on Sunday attended by two other SPL chairmen and a vice-chairman, who stressed the need for humility.

Murray, in blazer and club tie, arrived at the gathering on Wednesday with the frontman for the Sevco consortium, Charles Green – who did not sport the club’s uniform – and Ally McCoist, the Ibrox manager. A presentation brochure was distributed to the delegates.
The back page featured a photograph of a Rangers title win with the words “We Are Rangers” emblazoned across it.

“The arrogance was unbelievable,” said one chairman. “The atmosphere hardened immediately. Charles Green conducted himself well enough but the Rangers chairman was arrogant and dogmatic.”
Another who was present told The Daily Telegraph: “Some people in the room wanted a reason to make a case for Rangers but the standard of the presentation was woeful.
“Ally and Charles Green were not always on the same page but that was not damaging. The chairman was another matter entirely and the brochure was substandard – you could have easily knocked something better together given half an hour. It makes you wonder what kind of management team they have.”

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Time for a bit of humility and the back page of the presentation says "WE ARE RANGERS" (which instantly makes you think of an Ibrox ditty) and a pic of winning the league. Off the top of my head, what about a pic of a young fan, scarf on, watching a game? Something that puts a human face on it and it's consequences. President Assad has better international PR. Rangers cant even shake off arrogance on the very day they make an appeal to stay in the SPL. A truly bewildering football club that has misjudged public opinion at every turn since February.

Correct me if im wrong, Rangers went into admin and being liquidated for C W not paying P,A,Y,E and a small disputed tax bill.
Now E.B.Ts We still await result and SFA cant rule till result comes out. So no punishments given to anyone. Will new rangers get punished for old rangers not declaring dual contracts even though they were declared in end of season accounts to SFX. If punishment is to be
administerd then who to. Now when they say sporting integrity although septic payed tax on EBT for Juninho did they declare dual contract to SFA. If not then they have officially broke rules to so will they get punished. ED CAN YOU ASSIST AS PEOPLE TARING ALL THATS HAPPENED AS 1 EVENT AND ITS ACTUALLY A SERIOUS OF EVENTS {Ed039's Note - sorry I don't know the answer to that one)

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Juninho was not on a dual contract, his contract contained details of his EBT, hence no rules were broken, and tax was paid as required by HMRC. Timmy goa

Agree1 Disagree1

A few points to clarify here:

The SFA can rule before the result of the FTT into EBTs. The fact that Rangers had dual contracts is in itself the offence. Whether EBTs were legal or illegal is irrelevant to the SFA decision. Players are just simply not allowed to have a second contract.

If Rangers are found guilty, ever game where a player was fielded who had a dual contract will see the result of that game changed to a 3-0 loss for Rangers.

Rangers did not decare dual contracts in the end of year accounts. Rangers declared the financial amount paid out in EBTs. Nowhere in the accounts does it state that these EBT payments were made through a dual contract. It is simply a financial amount that is recorded.

If Rangers had stated in their accounts that players had been paid through dual contracts, the SFA would have taken action on the very first occasion this was declared.

As far as is known, Juninho did not have a dual contract, the payments for his EBT were detailed in the one contract he had. It does not follow that if a player is paid through an EBT then he must have a dual contract. Normal salary and the EBT can be included in the one contract.

However, if Juninho did have a dual contact then Celtic should be similarly charged as Rangers and if found guilty, every game Juninho played in would be changed to a 3-0 loss.

Whether Newco receive any punishment for this, I can't see how they can. The offence is with the previous company. What is likely to happen is that the relevant titles and cups that were won during the period will be stripped from the history of Oldco.

Mac2.

Rangers should have been handed over to the fans when this all kicked off, we know there would have been an apology and the Bears would have done what they could to have paid as much as they could. Mr Green and his ilk are just there to make a quick buck they don't understand the passion we have for our clubs. Daily Record today!

Regan insists there is simply no other way and has warned of the grave implications if the SFL do not vote next week to allow Rangers in.
The SFA chief said: “The only solution for the game now is that Rangers come into the First Division.
“If Rangers were to go anywhere else, then there would be somewhere in the region of £15.7million worth of losses.
“For the bigger clubs that’s half their annual distributions.
“For clubs at the bottom, it’s basically wiping out their entire distributions, for some of the smaller clubs it’s a huge proportion of their annual turnover.
“St Mirren have already stated they would face a severe financial backlash if they lost their TV money. The same will be true for most clubs.
“Clubs could survive for a short period of time but it’s not sustainable so there would be a slow, lingering death for the game.
“As the governing body, we can’t allow that to happen. It would simply be a dereliction of duty.
“There are only losers in this and it is just a case of how much is going to be lost. Even if Rangers end up in the First Division, there is still going to be a £5m loss of income to the SPL clubs.
“They are relying on the SFA bringing the process forward and clearly they are relying on the SFL clubs to think long and hard about the next step.
“It’s time for decisive action and leadership. We have not been able to get involved intensely until this moment as we don’t run the leagues.
“The SPL have made a decision and we now need to help drive this process forward. The game is broken at the moment and we have to fix it.”

I HOPE THAT WE GO TO 3 ALL OF THE CLUBS IN THE SPL & SFL SHOULD BE ABLE TO RUN THERE CLUBS WITH OUT RANGERS CASH! IF THEY CANT I SAY LET THEM SINK.
I AM NOT SAYING THIS AS I AM BITTER I FEEL IT IS TIME SCOTTISH FOOTBALL WAS SORTED OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL.
LETTING RANGERS IN AT DIVISION 1 IS MASKING THE REAL PROBLEM. LET US HAVE OUR DIGNITY AND WORK OUR WAY FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP WHERE WE BELONG.

The solution was there for the SPL but they never took it or could not see it
They could have voted to transfer the SPL share from PLC to LTD then have a pre arranged agreement with green to deduct how ever many points it required to have us finish last in the league for 2011- 2012 season thereby automatic relegation to Div 1
punishment (relegation)- sorted, league to play in (Div 1, SFL clubs could not object to automatic relegation) - sorted, sky tv deal - sorted
but the idiots who run our game could not see it or could not make it happen and now have to depend on cowdenbeath raith rovers and all to save scottish football from going down the tubes all together

I find it kinda strange that MacGregor is a free agent, but no club has come in for him. I would have thought he would have been one of the first to get a new club.
Don

Believable8 Unbelievable0

In my opinion i think other clubs are put off by the fact that he was a homegrown player, if we look at whos left and signed for a new club john fleck is currently the only one who was homegrown, but coventry city have made contact with us and offered us a kind of transfer fee. Jamie Ness is another who was homegrown but the sfa refused to transfer his registration to stoke. It looks as though players who normally we would get compensation for under different circumstances are having trouble moving and mcgregor fits in to that category. I may be totally wrong about this but thought i would give you my opinion on the scenario. I think clubs are waiting to see the outcome of the jamie ness registration issue which is now in the hands of fifa before moving for our other homegrown departees as there may be a fee involved. I too believe that mcgregor would have been one of the more desired targets and its surprising no one has took him yet.

He was waiting to see if Fraser Forster got the Celtic gig.

@2 aye just like craig gordon did.forster couldnt get a gig in epl so signed on in a no pressure job as the title is a one horse race

Bears prepare yourself for the deluge of media comments, managers etc saying the SPL will be as competitive as ever and in some cases even more so. All of this to try and keep the sponsors happy.
The second place challenge will be exciting, nail biting and will go to the wire. It will be the only competition in town after Christmas and the split. In fact it is the only competition.
Smeltic fans will have the excitement of the euro qualifying rounds to last them the season.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

That said the bookies giving 50-1 ON celtic retaining title seems competetive to me . BB BLUE

In quite a few posts its been suggested that this is an ideal opportunity for scottish foot to sort itself out and i agree
then you come across posts referring to celtic as smelltic and septic and vice versa regards to rangers, change no chance this country is caught in a time warp and has no desire to move on

Over the past 2 days anyone who is anyone down south have commented that they cannot believe what the game up here has just wished upon itself, brazil moyes mclintock etc good football men who have no love for rangers but totally understand the need for them to be playing in the league for the benefit of all scottish football

To the half wit who replied saying i was small minded at laughing about other peoples misfortune. grow a pair or read through the text. I said it would be a boring few years with some boycotting games and sky, so thats hardly a misfortune if its you deciding to boycott everything because your club has messed up. It was a bit of banter yet ed 39 seemed to get it. And another went on about it being boring for celtic winning the league by x mas you being serious son. I seem to remember it being great when the 9 in a row rangers were doing it. Have a laugh its actually good for you. See you in a few year maybe?

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Why is this phrase 'grow a pair' being used more andmore frequently ? f it refersto growing a pair of testicles then surely it should be reserved for situations where someone is being accused of some sort of cowardice and is being told to be more resolute. Instead it seems to be becoming a stock retort to every comment with which someone disagrees.

Agree1 Disagree0

I replied about it being boring with you lot winning the league by xmas. As for the 9IAR years, well we had the Old firm games then, what is their to look forward to now?! During 9IAR i saw some of the best Old firm games that have been, 3-3 at Ibrox in particular when Goram pulled off that save from a Van Hooijdoink volley and the 1-0 game at Parkhead when both Hooidoink and Gazza missed penalties and Van Vossen missed that sitter. So to claim the 9IAR years where boring is mental. Come back in a year and try and convince me the season was exciting........

Agree5 Disagree0

J1985 over the nine in a row Rangers beat Celtic by 99 pts, 11 pts a season on average, most of those years were still 2 pts for a win. Celtic were second only twice of those nine years. The weaker of the two teams turns up and we have a good derby now and again, big deal. 85-86 Rangers were rotten and there was a 4-4 draw, so what. Over those 9 years it was remarkably one sided and not one Gers fan gave a monkeys.
Gaz

Agree0 Disagree1

@5 So what, we won the league by 11 points. Well now Celtic get to win it by 40 points and by beating teams 4-0 every week.

The point you missed was that Celtic were still there in the league. We still had rival games. That WON'T be there anymore. You will be playing Dundee, Inverness, Kilmarnock, etc, every week. You don't have any history over those teams, so why would you want to flaunt your 40 point winning league title in their faces?

Agree0 Disagree0

That responce from gaz was well researched n factual but yer still talkin sh!te pal. On average 11pts a season. thats only 2 wins n a couple of draws better off than celtic, hardly a landslide over a 39 or so game season. Like i say come back in a years time n tell me season 12/13 was entertaining/exciting without 4 OF games n no competition.

LFC han here in peace, just a query. The words "sporting integrity are" are been banded about left, right and centre by SPL clubs who voted no, is it possible that the clubs in division 3 could object to a newco joining them due to "sporting integrity" and force Gers in to non league football? Surely there must be "sporting integrity" in all divisions?

Just out of curiousty, how many clubs in divisions 3 would have to yes in favour of the newco starting off there again/

R_R

Believable8 Unbelievable2

It is the 30 Scottish football League clubs who will vote.

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole SFL will vote on this, not just SLF3 clubs. A simple majority is required to agree any motion of this kind - SFL1 or SFL3, whatever is proposed.

It's theoretically possible that Rangers will have no league to play in at all, yes. But the SFA is trying to make sure that doesn't happen by setting up a new league - SFL2 - to take Rangers and top SFL1 teams away from the SFL. This is even threatened if SFL vote Rangers into SLF3 rather than SLF1.

In short, the SFL is being blackmailed.

Agree3 Disagree0

Unfortunately, "Sporting Integrity" is only a myth, only used by the SPL and others when it suits them. I do not think Rangers will be allowed into the 3rd Division. It will be Division 1 or SPL2 and not through the choice of the Rangers fans! The SFA and SPL clubs will decide if the SFL vote goes against Division 1.
We are too much of a cash cow to the parasites in the Scottish game to be allowed to move anywhere else.

Agree3 Disagree0

Well when a club goes out of business due to financial mismanagement which gave the old club an unfair sporting advantage for years then it's rather difficult to simply allow a new club, supposedly free of those financial iniquities, created using the old club's football assets straight back into the top level of the sport as if nothing has happened and, arguably, in a better position on the pitch and in the bank than the rest of the teams which were disadvantaged by the old club's offences. The SFL are a separate body from the SPL and really have no beefs with a newco so sporting integrity is not really an issue except in the event that the newco are allowed to enter at a higher level than any normal newcomer to the SFL would, i.e. the bottom division.

Agree3 Disagree2

As far as I know, 75% of the SFL clubs, not just Div 3, need to vote in favour to allow a new member into the league. {Ed039's Note - no just a majority, so 16 of the 30 member clubs)

Agree0 Disagree1

There is no such thing as sporting integrity. It's a mythical phrase thats been fabricatedas an excuse to oppose Rangers back into SPL.

Ask Celtic fans where their clubs "sportimg integrity" was in December 2007....they will know what you're talking about ;)........

TTG {Ed039's Note - I don't, enlighten me)

Agree0 Disagree2

Dundee not allowed a vote due to conflict of interest, so 15 - 14 vote required. 13 clubs have already stated publicly that they will vote no to D1, so irrespective of what Regan says, the vote will be for D3.

Agree1 Disagree0

What about celtic dec 2007 please enlighten me as well

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's Div 1 then it constitutes a rule change and that requires a 75% vote in favour.

Sorry if this is not what rangers fans want, but with english leagues having cardiff and swansea welsh clubs. If rangers have to play in lower scottish leagues would it not be better financially to aplly for english leagues. Rewards for gaining promotion to premier league would be far greater than scottish prem and cl football surely

Good luck from united fan
Jenny {Ed001's Note - they can't do so, UEFA changed the rules recently *sighs* this has been done to death now.}

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Well, Ed001, if UEFA is anything like SFA they can change rules whenever they feel like it. (Bigger ships, however, take longer to change course.) {Ed001's Note - they aren't going to change it to suit Rangers, unlike the SPL, Rangers simply aren't important enough to Europe, unlike they are in Scotland. Plus you have forgotten that one of the reasons they changed the rules was to keep the Old Firm teams in Scotland.}

Cant believe some guys are having a pop at ian Black.
At least the wee guy is willing to play for us in the lower divisions (by the way, he can walk away if its div 3, but he didnt say he defo will) unlike some of the so called 'walk away' gers men.
Black had offers from 1 championship and three league one teams, so fair play to him, he'll do us a right turn....Craig Beattie has also stated that he would play for Gers in 'any' division, coisty is aware of this....much rather have these guys than the absconders...

I think its time to get behind charles Green he was the only guy who stood up when it counted all these other so called RANGERS guys with millions couldnt do anything for us why didnt these guys get together and put all the money together and save the club one big consortium then they could have put a share issue among the supporters and get millions back, these guys missed a great chance to be a big part of Rangers history for ever that they came together and rescurd the club they would have been heros for ever but they failed to stand up when they were needed ,so thats why Isay we should all get behind Green and back him and get the club back on the rails again, all this mist trust of him must stop and give the guy a break, if he does a fergus mcCann and gets the club back to its rightfull place and walks away in a few years time then good luck to him.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Give me Green and Malcolm Murray any day over any bid fronted by John Brown. That guy really is cringeworthy, tonight on Clyde when he was asked who his backers are he said the Rangers fans, well Bomber the vast majority of bears won't be trusting you with a single penny of their cash, i don't mind you making a fool of yourself but don't pretend you speak for all the fans!

& since you're so keen to slag off Green for failing to raise money, here's a question for you - How much money have you raised for season tickets so far, I know some old boy from EK gave you some money from his pension but any others? BB
