Is there any news on Jason Holt as in my opinion he is really needed and would be first pick in my side.

05 Sep 2016 18:35:41
Gilks
Tavs
Senderos
Kernian
Wallace

Barton
Haliday
Kranjair

Garner
Waggi
Forrester.

05 Sep 2016 19:03:41
I really like holt, but I have a feeling that windass will end up taking his position, although i think we have badly missed holt since he's been out injured, unfortunately they can't all play and holt might drop to the bench.

05 Sep 2016 19:05:17
Love it. Miller scores 4 at the weekend and he's still not in peoples first 11.

05 Sep 2016 19:23:13
But it's also amazing to see how many first team selections leave out our most expensive summer signing.

Imagine both Miller and Garner will have big parts to play at the weekend.

05 Sep 2016 20:04:12
I would go really solid

Gilks
Tav senderos wilson waldo
Barton Rossiter
Windass
Waggy Garner Nico

For me Mckay hasn't earned a start yet.
Miller/ Mckay halliday and Forrester on later for Nico Waggy and barton.

05 Sep 2016 20:31:07
I've read on this site several times now regarding the debate on who should play between jason holt and josh windass in our starting 11 when both are fit, I would hope there would be room for both of them to play as I'm a massive fan of holt, I would like to start a small debate here to gauge our supporters feelings on their preference between holt v windass if only one had to start, which one would get your vote fellow bears? I really like windass also but if pushed to choose I'd take wee holty first! For the other topic kenny miller starts against celtic all day long, not even a debate as far as I'm concerned, he's a big game player and scorer and always scores against them, miller is a fantastic pro and role model and imo is a future glasgow rangers manager in the making, kenny is the scurge of celtic, the first name on the teamsheet for saturday, high noon!

05 Sep 2016 20:36:25
We al need a out ball up top need pace in our front 3 don't think wouldn't start waghorn tbh.

05 Sep 2016 20:56:59
Id like to see both in the team but if i could only have 1 i'd plump for Windass.

05 Sep 2016 21:16:00
Love holt great player, just think josh is up to speed now and looking a more powerful player, my worry is that with so many new faces who'll freeze we can't afford passengers,

05 Sep 2016 21:50:07
Holt was one of our best players and on occasions was a game changer.

Fans are comparing him to Ian Durrant. Windass played well against Linfield and against lower league opposition in the league cup. Don't remember how well he played against Motherwell.

You'd think Holt would get the attacking midfield position if it was between them.

But it isn't just between them, Kranjcar, Forrester, Halliday and even Crooks to an extent are all competing for that role.

05 Sep 2016 22:01:02
Holt won't start Miller will so will Barton him v brown I can see the build up.

05 Sep 2016 20:55:27
O'halloran surely has to play and kenny miller will start.

05 Sep 2016 22:18:49
Cant Wait Till We 'The Most Successful Club In The World' Take On The Smelly Mob In Their Park On Saturday Man, Feeling Very Confident, Mon The Teddy Bears.

05 Sep 2016 22:47:14
Think Miller will start and prob hooked around 60min depending on how things are goin, Miller always has a goal in him against that mob BUT if the wee man ain't cuttin it then Warbs has to change it at half time. I really like Miller but I think Warbs has to start the game with Wags, Garner or Dodoo and bring Miller on if needed instead of other way about, In sayin that this is prob not the game to do it. Its a difficult one because we know this is his last season playing and we have to start giving game time to the other strikers but if the wee man is on form and showing Warbs he's the first choice on training pitch then the situation is tough but not a really bad on wheny thinkin about it. One thing tho, if we're in a game where we're a few goals up by half time I want to see Warbs using the other players sooner rather waiting till the hour mark, would like to see Warbs doing this for a few positions, don't want to see Holt on the bench when we're 3-4 up would hope to see Warbs fling on the young Finnish boy too.

06 Sep 2016 01:04:54
Wanted to add Bears, the one thing the team MUST do on Sat is have a pop from distance! You can be sure that mob will have a go from 20-25 yards and we have to have a go. The first goal is going to be so important, I think they'll be a few goals in this game time and it bein at the Methadome if we do get a goal early or even with 20 mins left we need to keep pressing. We've got the players that can bang one in from distance as Nico showed, also set pieces will be crucial and Barton needs to know when to let Tavs take them but I think our first free kick that's in shooting distance will be taken by Barton. This game does tho have a Barton goal written all over it and interested to see what the wee man does regarding his celebrations d'ya think Brown might be in his way ;) Anyways Bears havin a go from distance is going to happen and will be successful, remember they might be playing their new keeper who'll be shitting himself!

06 Sep 2016 05:01:34
No way holt can start as he's not played for weeks and miller needs to start for his experiance an lnow how alone plus good for a goal against them.

06 Sep 2016 08:06:00
Fodderinghan has been one of our best players this season making some crucial saves but doesn't seen to be in starting 11's. Why? What has gilks done to take number 1 spot?

06 Sep 2016 10:27:42
my wee brother scored y at the weekend against an amateur team should he play for rangers? millers past it.

06 Sep 2016 10:33:56
holt is a first team player and I can't say I've seen enough from windass against bigger teams to give him the start .
miller has to start garner isn't up to speed yet and won't have the passion for this game the way miller has.

I know we won't but 4.4.2 should be played against this very fast selik side.

06 Sep 2016 14:31:39
aye they are fast but there midfield is dreadful. rogic can't last an hour, Bitton is about as quick as razor ruddock and brown that much a shadow of his former self he would be aswell retiring. the last old firm game he played like a little boy against men.

06 Sep 2016 19:49:53
Warbs 15 id play holt mate, as he knows the role expected of him, having played the role loads of time, ide also start with miller, as he busts nhis gut every time, though against anybody else i would put miller on for the last half hour, as i think that would suit him better (he is getting on a bit age wise) and like yourself i think he will be our manager some day

i wish he was 10 years younger, but he gives his all every time, never stops a better example we will never see, defeat won't mean its over, as once we ge everybody up to full fitness and find out our best 11 we wiill be a force to worth watching, i'd also imagine we will look to bring in another defender in the winter, maybe a player running down his last 6 month of his contract, i'd imagine mw knows of such a player, i'm also glad we are getting in youngster for the future.

06 Sep 2016 19:51:39
Can't understand why some people not wanting McKay to start boy is different class big pitch at parkhead he won't have 2 men on him constantly boy will have some space to run into And cut in and shoot think he could be our matchwinner this sat boy is a must start for me also think krancjar should start boy is made for these type of games and Barton has to step up to the plate for all his comments he has heaped do much pressure on himself he really needs to produce something special.

05 Sep 2016 16:47:38
Don't want the team going to Parkhead with only one goalscorer in the team.

Miller did great against Linfield and took his chances well and will likely start. But would rather Waghorn start on the right, than Forrester, in order to take some of the pressure off Miller.

Would start Forrester in the middle with Barton and Halliday. Doubt Garner will start if Miller starts.

Rossiter might start but the player he's likely to be in for is Halliday and he's made for these games.

05 Sep 2016 19:10:02
Kenny Miller has a knack of scoring in the big games, I actually fancy him to score on Saturday, I don't know if we will win but kenny usually comes good on the big occasions, I will never forget his goal at hampden against st. mirren when we were down to 9 men and kenny scored a peach of a header to win us the league cup, I can't speak highly enough of him, he's an outstanding role model for any young footballer, I might be wrong here but i can't remember their ever being a negative story about Kenny in the papers, I'm just glad he still plays for rangers.

05 Sep 2016 19:48:13
Even if he hadn't scored the 4 against Linfield MW would still have started with him for Celtic.

He's a great player for us and seems to have a great football brain also.

05 Sep 2016 21:11:00
Kenny Miller must enjoy old firm games by now, no pressure just adrenaline.

05 Sep 2016 14:57:43
till to hear a scottish accent in the national team and don say barry. he doesn't get a game.

05 Sep 2016 16:06:32
Fletcher, snodgrass, bannan, Robertson, Patterson, Marshall. there is actually alot.

05 Sep 2016 17:20:05
Correct cee there's plenty mate.

05 Sep 2016 18:17:05
well maybe they should interview the above after the game instead of English accents.

05 Sep 2016 18:26:29
Snodgrass got interviewed not that it should matter.

05 Sep 2016 21:13:34
Why does it matter if they have English accents?

Both my kids were born in Kilmarnock and because of my work they will undoubtedly develop English accents; that doesn't make them any less Scottish than you deecee.

05 Sep 2016 23:37:16
Rafbob just as long as yer kids don't follow killie mate, lol.

06 Sep 2016 07:46:25
Haha, no worries there Bigjoh85.

06 Sep 2016 12:04:25
I have to agree to some extent .
if u where born in Scotland u r Scottish but if u get a game for Scotland because your granda was Scottish then I don't agree with that.
people shouldn't be allowed to play for a country unless they where born there or to an extent raised there like went through the whole of school in said country.

05 Sep 2016 14:49:34
must have watched a different game than most daily rag reporters with strachans favourites stuttering and stammering against a pub team. sorry to say this but Russia is a lost cause, but I think the gers will win a double, which double I don't know. ill let you know on the 11th.

05 Sep 2016 17:24:19
5-1 is a great result away from home, plus Italy only won by one goal over there, actually so did Croatia, credit were credit is due, Scotland done well last night, but we probably won't make Russia though.

05 Sep 2016 18:27:54
so, your all happy wi the goal they scored. if the gers lose that kinda goal next week we would be up in arms.

05 Sep 2016 19:12:49
Totally agree with you there deecee, do you know watching that goal reminded me of Wilson and kiernan, that's the type of goals we have been losing for ages now.

05 Sep 2016 19:42:41
I wouldn't be up in arms if we pumped them 5-1!

06 Sep 2016 12:07:13
yes Mathew 94 my thoughts exactly who cares about losing goals when u win by that margin.
I agree we didn't play well but i'd be happy to go to parkhead and play the worst football I've ever seen if we can win by that margin!

05 Sep 2016 14:43:16
Barton doesn't fit into a MW style of play and I think he has massively underestimated how teams set up against rangers. He slows the tempo with every touch, stops us moving through zones as teams easily get back into shape. He is a DM that we required but I'd go with energy of Rossiter every day of the week and def against Celtic.

05 Sep 2016 15:32:12
I think if he were the only DM it would be fine. We have a midfield crammed with DMs. Not enough last season and too many this season.

05 Sep 2016 15:40:38
Spot on Scotty but can't see Barton getting dropped.

05 Sep 2016 16:07:56
it's obvious to see Barton is a step above every other player on the park (bar kranjcar) every time he touches the ball. even simple things like a sideways pass a touch look better and with more ease. he just needs time to settle, the full team has been awful you can't just single out one player.

05 Sep 2016 16:12:22
I think he's played a part in 3 of the 4 goals we've lost this season. if he plays a blinder on sat il n first on here applauding him.

05 Sep 2016 16:20:30
id have to agree that barton isn't up to speed yet he does look quality that why I think him and niko are supersubs rossiter deserves a start on merit he has been a better player that barton windass looks promising shame that holt is out I think holt windass and rossiter would rule the middle of the park if they where to play together with McKay on the left forrester on the right and miller on a hatrick lol would make my saturday.

05 Sep 2016 17:25:05
C, mon all the new players need time to gel.

06 Sep 2016 12:09:55
they do need time to gel ddelboy but we need to play the players that are looking sharper and more up to speed with the spl.

05 Sep 2016 14:35:57
I'm a big Barrie McKAY fan but he hasn't been doing it for me this season I would give MoH a run out against the team that let him go as a boy big game to prove himself.

05 Sep 2016 16:08:13
we play with 2 winger why not one either side.

05 Sep 2016 11:37:41
Can't help but thinking wee Mckays trip away with the Scotland squad could maybe have cost him his place on Saturday. With MOH and Windass coming in and playing well and Miller and Garner both on target, you would have to say if McKay wasn't one of the managers favourites he could have done himself out a starting position. I don't think it's a coincidence that with him and Wallace out the team we looked more dynamic on Saturday . Both of them haven't really got going this year when you consider some of the stuff that got played down that side last year. Hopefully this break out the team will do the both of them the world of good, we need those two firing.
To be fair to McKay, Strachan said he had looked outstanding in training (but still doesn't give him a seconds game time strangely) . Hopefully he gets a boost from playing with guys like Ritchie, Snodgrass and Anya. If he can replicate his performance against them last year he will silence all his doubters.

05 Sep 2016 12:56:36
he hasn't 'Done Himself' out of anything by travelling with the national team for a world cup qualifier.

05 Sep 2016 13:46:31
Recbob, I'll need to get back to the finances site, as I find myself agreeing with the majority of your posts on the banter pages. Cheers mate.

05 Sep 2016 14:18:55
Too funny Billy, we're not that different after all haha. I'm sure something will pop up soon that will have us splitting hairs. Just shows we care mate.

05 Sep 2016 15:15:51
celtic fans are already pulling out the biased refereeing card lol. I would play mckay and ohalloran wide mckay brings the ability to come inside and play a hit and the ohalloran is an out and out whippet.

05 Sep 2016 15:25:34
doubt that McKay has done himself out of a place in the starting 11 especially even though he hasn't been as good as last year I think that's to do with the team not geling yet. so in all fairness to the boys we played on Saturday I can't see sum1 taking his place based on a performance against linfield.
McKay will start on Saturday and imo is the first name i'd put on the team sheet.

05 Sep 2016 16:19:34
Mckay has to start as he's a matchwinner either with a goal or a defence splitting pass.

05 Sep 2016 16:57:25
I am a McKay fan as well but in my opinion he will never really excel until he is played on the right.

He has bags of pace and can go by people effortlessly, but being right footed he tends to cut back rather than hit the byline. Opponents know this and tend to show him down the line where his crosses are hit and miss.

Would be far more dangerous on the right.

06 Sep 2016 12:12:57
gosman look at what they have been trying to do!
they have been trying to get the front three to interchange and I think that once they get used to that they can rip defences apart.

05 Sep 2016 10:15:24
On Saturday for me defence is the most important priority. When Tavernier goes up Wallace must stay back and vice versa, so we always have minimum of 3 at the back with Barton just in front.
If we play gung-ho they will punish us. If I was Rogers I would play counter attack. If they come out and play football and we have a sound defence we can win this game.

05 Sep 2016 10:53:13
If I was Rodgers, I would let Rangers win, but that's just me.

05 Sep 2016 11:24:41
if we play as well as we can then we will win that match but its getting the right starting 11 for me.
with warbs set on 433 I wouldn't start with barton as the cdm i'd have rossiter in there with his engine that doesn't stop.

05 Sep 2016 11:40:25
Cracker :-) )

05 Sep 2016 15:16:13
tavernier and wallace must get tight to there wingers and close them down.

05 Sep 2016 10:05:59
Was anyone at the game on Saturday and see how No Serrendros got on at the back?

05 Sep 2016 10:47:35
I asked the same question the other day, it seems he got on great, even warbs gave a statement regards Senderos, he strolled the 60 minutes he played and is looking in great shape for not having much competitive games recently, works hard in training and still has a great desire for the game. he's out to prove his worth in scotland.

05 Sep 2016 10:49:41
Was at game Gaz T, he fitted in well, but wasn't really tested, think he will be a good addition, good to see someone at the back who can head the ball .
The player who I am not too sure about is Joey Barton,
I have yet to see him have a outstanding game for us, he should know it is not a stroll in the park up here, and start showing what he is capable of .

05 Sep 2016 10:58:34
He was never really tested to be fair but he looked quite good. Not much pace would be the only downside.

05 Sep 2016 11:27:38
I think barton will prove his worth up here but until he does I wouldn't start him. bring him and niko on when their defence is tired they can show their worth.

05 Sep 2016 11:50:18
brian, youre right, i watched the game yesterday. he did everything he needed to but was not under any pressure. i actually thought that linfield would have made a better game of it.

05 Sep 2016 16:09:54
there not on our level technically or physically, it showed we played with a pace and power they couldn't match most professional teams would run over Lingfield.

05 Sep 2016 09:47:43
Great result for Scotland last night, I thought we done very well in the 2nd half and to score 5 goals away from home is superb, no matter who the other team is, next up is Lithuania at hampden.

05 Sep 2016 10:52:20
Bare minimum against 9-man Malta really.

05 Sep 2016 11:35:22
I wasn't impressed to be honest.

05 Sep 2016 15:28:11
c'mon the Scotland!
scored 5 goals and still aren't happy. ok the performance need worked on but clinical finishing is a good start.

05 Sep 2016 16:10:41
we conceded against Gibraltar and now malta. 1 striker. still same old guys like Fletcher and Fletcher. Strachan failed should have been replaced.

05 Sep 2016 20:48:47
Steven Fletcher came on scored one set up one Darren Fletcher strolled it mate who would u have played? Remind me a bit of rangers last night it would be so much more comfortable to watch with a good centre half pairing.

05 Sep 2016 09:39:56
Is it just me or has it gone quiet on the Joey Barton tweeting front, he surely has now realised how much he under rated scottish football, i hope that he has bucked his ideas up and is fully focused on taking out that mob, (obviously within the rules) don't want any red cards on sat!

05 Sep 2016 10:54:10
I think he just over rated himself, Scottish football is still crap.

05 Sep 2016 11:06:06
😂😂😂 aye yer not wrong, but these players coming up from england expect it to be the equivelant to going to a school and playing kids, as poor as it is it isn't as bad as they think😂.

05 Sep 2016 11:31:01
I think Scottish football is on the up again cullin . we won't get back to the glory days of the 90's but as a league it is getting harder to win with teams like Aberdeen and hearts improving their style of play .
I hate the negativity around Scottish game if its that bad then just stick to watching the overpaid premadonnas down south.

05 Sep 2016 12:10:13
maybe he has nothing to say.

05 Sep 2016 12:50:34
What you call negativity, I call realism. Each to their own.

05 Sep 2016 14:03:42
don't get me wrong cullin I understand where people come from even I wouldn't sit and watch two mid table teams play each other up here but they are good games in the epl.
but saying that our game isn't as bad as people seem to think we have teams up here which are hard to break down and teams that can play nice football like dazrfc said we are better than what a lot of the English think we are.

05 Sep 2016 08:57:34
Anyone else getting more optimistic as the big game approaches? I definitely am. Can't figure out why! Haha.

Also, which bright spark at Sky decided it would be a good idea to put the Old Firm game and the Manchester derby on at the same time?! Someone at Sky needs sacked for that one.

05 Sep 2016 09:41:51
I wouldn't say I'm optimistic, I'm more hopeful than anything else, playing Celtic at parkhead is totally different to playing them at hampden or ibrox, but I'm really looking forward to Saturday, iv been saying on here for a while now that i expect rangers to be fully up to speed by Christmas time, it's not easy to bed in 11 new players, I'm delighted with the signings warburton and weir have made but as I said it's just gonnay take a while for them to settle and gel as a team, for instance kranjcar is pure class but he's not 100% fit yet, but when he's up to speed we will have a belter of a player.

05 Sep 2016 10:12:34
My guess is that the person/ computer that made the fixture list and not some1 at Sky put the derbies on the same day.

05 Sep 2016 10:32:28
It's just down to the Champions league, neither Celtic or City would be able to play on tue after a big derby on the Sun. I know what one I'll be watching anyway.
I think if we can keep it tight and play the way we played against them last year we have a chance. The underdog tag suits us for now.

05 Sep 2016 11:37:03
there are different kick off times on a Saturday recbob.
we shouldn't be playing at the same time I want to watch the Manchester derby but won't be able to now lol.
id be more optimistic if we had a good start to the season, I am more hopefull than anything aswell.
if we win it will be a great turning point in the season for us but I don't think it will affect us too much if we get beat as long as its by 1 or 2 and not a thumping.
