watchin rangers v chelsea on premier sports right now, how poor is edu? hes been playin like this for the best part of a year, i think he is the worst signing of the past decade, judging by the amount we spent on him anyway (2.5million), touch poor, passing non existant, posistional awareness zero, does have good pace and strength, but what use is that if he cant pass or control the ball, i say get rid and bring in ness {Ed047's Note - His confidence is shot. Doesn't help

Believable7 Unbelievable2

It won't happen though and our talented youth will either rot away or leave for another club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree our young players will just stagnate with ally as manager just like they did when walter was there.

Ok heres the way I see it....

In a weird way im glad we were in all that debt as it forced us to show our hand with our youths.

We have seen some great talent coming through.

Wilson
Ness
Hutton
Cole
For example

I honestly dont think we would see these players if we werent in that predicument. Just a thought..

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I agree and like Walter was, Ally seems reluctant to play them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point, give youth a chance. I was at the game today and really wanted Ally to play the young guns, and I wasn't dissapointed, we need to play the Huttons, Ness', and the Coles and Hemmings, Ness was good Hutton was excellent

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree the youngsters played well yesterday. but ally cant afford to play all of them together because if he did m8t u will be bk on ere saying wot a fool he is not playing experienced players. he cant win mark.

Let's hope it's gonna be a successful season for both clubs.

Trying my hardest to be optimistic but I'm running on empty. Our youth showed today tey are far more capable and hungry than the likes of Edu, Clubfoot and Ortiz

Agree with the people sticking up for Ally and Whyte on this, especially the guy talking about this time last year we where talking about selling murray park etc etc, but everybody needs to get off both there backs, a mean Whyte has come in tied up possibly the best keeper in britain if not the best then right up there on a long term contract, the best midfielder in scotland, and a clumsy c**t at right back, he's gave Ally money to bring in potentialy the best scottish left back at the moment, and 2 other boys and am confident along with a couple of other gers fans that there will be at least 3 or 4 still to come in. Fair enough ally hasnt done good recently but c'mon its his first time running a full team himself, he will come good and bring us the spl back to ibrox, get behind the boys watp here we go 4 in a row

Believable1 Unbelievable4

That all means sod all when we're winning virtually nothing, our reputation as both as Football club and a business is being damaged, the calibre of our team is not and probably never will be as great as it once was (World Class and a European force) and our attendance is worse than it was last season with no money, no new faces and no owner etc and our own fans are getting relestless, losing heart and whatever else. I'm not talking the likes that only turn up once in a blue moon either, am talking season ticket holders etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone know when the 25 man squad has to be registerd down south {Ed001's Note - day after the window closes, should be September 1st but they have a habit of changing the final day so I wouldn't be sure on that without checking.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2011 21:21:44
McCoist is definitely speaking to ''old pal'' Villas Boas for some Chelsea fringe players, he said it would be ''foolish not to use his contacts'' see this is when Super Ally being such a nice guy comes in handy. Rangers till I Die, & Chelsea welcome at Ibrox anyday.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I thought it was Ian Durrant that was pally with Boas?

CC

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling (maybe more a hope) that this is true. Just like to point out though, apparently its Durranty's mate from back when they were doing their coaching badges. But i think we'll definitely try to chance our arm with a few loanees

Agree0 Disagree0

It's Durrant's pal, ffs get with it man

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt ally and durrant do their coaching badges together along with villa boas?

think today's game was good , think Hutton is a class midfielder and think he could play there for edu/Mcculloch , Bartley was brilliant today also , young mcmillian did no bad and a love how we have so many good young scotish players , and anyone else think the young lad perry did superb when he came on ? also bendikson looks like he could be the answer to our right mid problems , ad love to see a midfield of Davis , Hutton , ness , bendikson ;) thought we held our own today 1st half Watp

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I agree but is Ally got the courage to play them in games that matter...so far he hasen't i think he might be scared to change to much from walters time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Midfield of Davis Hutton ness n bendiksen, three central midfielders out of four, thts y ur not a manager n don't hav a clue

Agree0 Disagree0

So why is ally the manager then, as he plays 3 central midfielders out of 4 every week so you and ally both not got a clue lol

bigstevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Too young a mid field to be honest. I think, as many managers at other clubs have done in the past and still do, play one young lad in defence/mid/attack along side experienced players and let them see from a few yards away what they have to do. It doesn't work when its 3 young lads without experience trying to deal with an experienced player of any quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2011 20:53:53
people who say whyte is penny pinching, look at the facts, 3 contract extensions 5m each over 5 years thats 3m this year alone, goian for what 600k? ortiz for 400k thats 4m so far wallace for 1.5m, 18m worth of debt transfered, 2m in for cuellar accepted 1.5m i think it is in for wessly and what, almost 3m for that cb junasz or what ever? total? 30m, even if you take the debt out thats more than the 5m promised WITHOUT champions league

Believable3 Unbelievable2

You can take the 3 m off regarding contract extensions as the money whyte put up was for transfers only. take the 18 m off as this was not part of it either.

yes 6.5m still on the table at various clubs, but until that is accepted you canna include it. we have got in 1.8 for bouggy, and the best part of 900k from charlie square pants adam. so taking this into consideration we have spent a big fat zero.

If we had strengthened before malmo game we would still be in champions league.

sir alex ferguson has one of the best goals to games ratio in rangers history... Fact

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Still does'nt make him any better, he was not a particularly good player. We, as a club, did wrong by him and if we had not massacred his footballing career he could well have been our manager at one point instead of Aberdeens

OK lets be positive, we now need to go on and win the league, concentrate on that and if a euro bonus comes along we will take it, we need to make sure that they think we are all falling apart then sit back and enjoy...., , ps superally will always be MY legend, ,

The "disgruntled Rangers fan" addendum was actually at the end of my reply to the "disgruntled St Js fan" (on here for reasons only known to himself) pissed off many people were saying that Murray Davidson is no good enough for Rangers- a statement simply of fact. Bit of an attempt at irony that obviously missed the target.

I don't support Celtic. Their fans bleat on about their team being quite strong at the moment- I actually think it's horse dung. They only have numbers. This will make it twice as annoying if we hand them the league by default coz Whyte will not back McCoist. Feel for McCoist. My belief in him as a manager will start to rapidly diminish if he keeps playing edu beside mcl in the middle of the park for example though. Everyone has to learn, but it must be quick in this job- that just comes with the territory.

Also, the owner rapidly needs to get his head round how the transfer market works. We look plain ridiculous quite frankly.

Some guy from west coast ireland, calls himself an author and blogger, has just asked graeme speirs on twitter to comment on his story that " sherriffs officers are to enter ibrox on monday" and that the scottish media are covering it up. Anyone know anything about this or is it just another wind up?

Hi there, think It's fair to say we need that little spark in midfield. That telling pass maker. I understand the clubs situation fully, and may I add, totally agree with the way its being run, however frustrating it may seem at times. But it is for the best. Anyway, I think taking that into consideration, there's a player out there that could provide that sparkle, that defense splitting pass, Mr Eremenko, I believe he's back at his mother club, but for a bid of around the million pound mark we could have a player who could bring the best out in our main man Jelavic, and also Edu. Would appreciate your thoughts? Cheers. Jamie.

I was there also ans Chelsea were at a canter, but good performances from, Hutton, Ness when he came on and I thought Wallace had a good second half. Chelsea fans wre brilliant, we were too quiet and it reflected a stale Rangers today, but enjoyrd some classy Chelsea stuf. Rangers 'til I die

adnt understand why whyte dusnt pay upfor players rather than putten in disgusting offers when e is wort a supposed £700m {Ed047's Note - what he's worth and what he puts into Rangers are two different things entirely. Anyway as far as I'm aware, he doesn't have £700m available, it's tied up in assets

Believable1 Unbelievable2

He might have money tied up ed but he did state he would be giving ally 15m war chest. he came out with this statement when the 5 rebel board members were questioning his credentials.

bigstevie {Ed047's Note - the issue in the OP was Whytes personal wealth of £700m. My point is that is his and nothing to do with Rangers. He never promised £15m anyway. He promised £25m over 5 seasons and later said he would make more funds available if required

Why should we automatically pay the asking price for a player , does every other team offer it ?
I can understand fans getting angry etc but if we can save a bit of money on each transfer we might end up with an extra player , as has been mentioned before there are several different players that have been scouted for each position required , so what if we didnt get Goodwillie , we might go for Jamie Murphy or whoever and they could easily end up a better buy than Goodwillie , remember Goodwillie still has a serious assualt charge hanging over him.Just wish the fans would calm down and let the club get on with it , did you pay the ticket price on your last car or house ? {Ed047's Note - exactly, it's called negotiation but it has to be realistic. The people who are knocking Whyte are probably the same who were shouting about David Murray getting us into major debt

Believable0 Unbelievable1

You're both off the mark by a mile. If we DON'T get players in then we WILL give Celtic the league. Rangers Football Club PLC is a business and to make money you have to spend money. The winners this season go straight into the champions league group stage which means that team gets 15M, roughly. To make sure its us that get that Champions League spot then we have to invest, and invest now. Don't spend a fortune on players though, buy players that can win the SPL and then when we do....splash out on a couple of better players. Simple.

CC

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2011 12:41:12
Seems to be the same old story regarding the latest offers. The reason Rangers have not heard back from either club is because the offers are- as usual- too low.
Craig Whyte should just pay the asking price or at the very least 100, 00 or so below so they can negotiate. Goodwillie all over again. I feel for McCoist big time.

Poster at 2a.m. was spot on. Questioning the downright strange way the club is being run has nothing to do with no being a "proper fan". Does being a "proper fan" just mean you accept anything?

Why are people "freaking out"- needlessly pishing the £15m against the wall last week going out to a pub team, when based on the evidence we've seen so far, we will really miss that money probably has a bit to do with it. If you bounce out to a superior team you put your hands up, but it's another of those most galling self-inflicted wounds we major in. Kaunas all over again, as many said before it. It's certainly frustrating when you can see the car crash coming but the people supposedly running the show do nothing.

Why does Whyte keep bitching in the papers? "Why don't the punters get off my back?" The kind that won't believe it till he actually does something to justify all the hot air won't be listening, only the "true fans" that apparently swallow anything.

Randolph True Blue

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Nah mate. The true fans don't swallow everything, but they don't immediately being criticising our legend of a manager and a new owner who, i think, has done a fine job so far despite both of which not having time to prove themselves. I have seen your other posts, and you usually call yourself a 'disgrunteld rangers fan'. Clearly, you are not only criticising the management of the club but you are attempting to get others to criticise it. This affects (in a very small but symbolic way) the support of our club if you can turn just one of the readers on this page into doubting Whyte and McCoist). If you do not see that, then you are neither a 'true blue' nor a clever man. In fact, id go so far as to call you a celtic fan. We are the people, we have a fantastic club helmed by two supporters Whyte and McCoist and we will be champions again this year. {Ed047's Note - excellent post. Thank you

im reading a lot of comments about showing "full support" for the team and ally and even whyte.

How about we try this - Rangers fans show their unwavering support every season - how about whyte gets his wallet out and backs up his big promises, in order to show his support for "his team" and ally. Thats the only way we'll move forward.

ed.pissed off bear here..ive a few points to make..this time last year we were all sweating on what players we were gona lose..who we needed to sell to keep lloyds happy..would we start last season without shagger.davis.ect..we all kept our fingers crossed..other teams took boyd.and ant other player that took there fancy..ibrox was in disrepair.things didnt look good..fast forward to whytes take over..no longer are we the feeding table to be robbed of our best players..we dont need to sell anyone..ibrox geting 5 mill in upgrades..3 odd mill spent on players to date..8 odd mill on bids on the table for players..for god sake this time last year murray park was talked about being sold..whytes made sure it wont..now to all the so called rangers fans..would you rather be were you were this time last year..orr give this man a chance? {Ed001's Note - I keep saying I don't understand why people are whining about Whyte as of yet. They seem to think he should be splashing the cash, conveniently forgetting that it was that policy that almost killed the club.}

re my post earlier tonight about lack of quality currently on offer at IBROX and over last couple of years..... I notice 4 disagree with those comments
guys stop burying your heads in the sand and take your reality tablets.

If you formed a team from over the last 25 years which current players would even get in a pool...the answer is none.

Should the team even entertain imposters like Broadfoot, Whittaker, Lafferty, Naysmith Healy, Edu, Oritz ..... average and unapetising fare... we want to eat steak Mr White not mince

The Scottish Media Mafia do us a huge dis-service and help pull the wool over our eyes by salivating over the tripe and the onions being served up

At the very least we need to feel that the entertainment levels are being raised

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Sorry but the days of steak are gone pal an u need to get that thru ur heid an enjoy the mince

Naisy? Really? Yer a sad wee man and if you beleave that go support the unwashed. Sick of you fair weatrher fans talking yer dribble. If ya don't like it jog on END OF

Agree0 Disagree0

If there is any lack of real quality then its down to lack of money and the fact murray park has not produced enough players coming through the last five years

Why Are We Rushing To Get ADO Den Haag winger Wesley Verhoek When Hes Played In The Europa League And Will Ineligible? Id Like To See Whyte Stump Up The Cash & Get Hitzlsberger Free (wages high) & Leeds's Grella Bid(Not Been Offered New Contract In Last Year Of His) & I'd Love To See McCoist Start Playing Healy, Why Extend His Contract To Sit Him On The Bench(Should Be Whittaker On The Bench Not Healy)

In My Opinion

Bougherra's no been the same player for the last 18 months or so.Don't think his hearts been in it since he came back from the african nations. W.A.T.P

Agree0 Disagree0

Why sign Verhoek? Because there is more than the Europa to play for,

Lad obviously wants to play for us. I know its a lot to hope for given Arsene's like of the boy... but i can only pray there's a buy option at the end of his contract. {Ed047's Note - no, Wenger and Bartley seem clear his future is at the Emirates

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether at emirates or ibrox the big man wants to be with us.

bigstevie {Ed047's Note -yes to help improve his game so he can return to Arsenal as a genuine competitor for the first team but it's obvious he's got strong feelings for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

What kind of a human being wouldnt have feelings for rangers ed {Ed001's Note - someone who is already in love with another club?}
