what an idiot craig levein is concerning rangers players messi and ronaldo play poor teams in league games are they ignored for their country levein your an idiot

Believable24 Unbelievable17

Agree totally. he is the most negative national team manager in history and his tactics and selections are awful. We will be lucky to finish 5th in world cup section. We are currently on a par with the minnows of Europe.

Agree14 Disagree9

Difference is between playing poor teams or becoming part of a poor team....Irrespective your new signing of sunday league players the overall quality will go down.

Agree6 Disagree6

I heard Mr Levein tonight and he was reasonable and 100% correct.
It is you OP who are the idiot.

Agree14 Disagree15

Levein's an idiot and a completely average manager. We will get our @rses skelped big time in that wc qualifying group with Serbia, Croatia, Belgium, Wales. It's a far better quality than the duff euros group he made a mess of. No matter, avril out in eighteen months and onwards and upwards.

Agree6 Disagree3

Levein - may have been righ tin 6 months once Lee has been playing in the 3rd,
however he hasn't even played a game there yet and to suggest he is now 3rd div class is bloody insulting to him & rangers
wonder if lavern was reading a script from the sfa?

bil72

Agree6 Disagree0

No more Scotland games for me, I'm sure the vast Celtic support will go eh,lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Rangers players were unreliable. The seemed very suseptible to mystery injuries which only occured before an unglamourous international match and cleard in time for the next SPL match.

I guess you were not the same guys moaning about players being drafted in to the squad from the second tier in England, as that would be double standards.
Al

Agree1 Disagree3

And who at div3 Newco could possibly play in the Scotland squad ahead of the other first tier players? Levein is correct. They are not playing at high enough level. Even div1 isn't high enough. No national manager could risk his reputation by fielding div3 players ahead of SPL or epl players.
McCoist doesn't want anyone playing for Scotland at all. He fears tiredness and injuries. {Ed039's Note - I can see Lee Wallace leaving for the sake of having an international career, if Fox is playing EPL with Southamption and performing like he did last season he is going to play over a guy playing SFL3, its a no brainer, its not that Wallace isnt good enough, its that he will not be getting tested enough to come and play an important World Cup Qualifier, its about top class match sharpness)

Agree1 Disagree0

Levein can take a run and jump...in fact the SFA can do the same. I will never ever pay to watch Scotland except abroad, where they don't get my money. I advise the cowardly SFA to play away from Hampden 'cos the Gers fans won't be supporting you.

Agree5 Disagree0

Well said @ 6) & 9) Levein is an insignificance. SFA don't expect us to support you anymore - when did you help us this year?...more a hindrance you were!

Agree2 Disagree0

Who cares about playing for Scotland anyway?!? That ship isn't going anywhere. I'd choose Rangers every time- no contest. These plastic Scots like that Fox guy or the Blackpool winger are even more of a mystery. I mean, being stuck with Scotland is bad enough if you're unfortunate enough to actually be born here. Leave it to the shortbread tin highland mafia I say. Let them waste their time and hard-earned on a team that plays nae strikers.

Ok bears let's put it this way the possibility of the gers being stripped of titles is very real but why get so up in arms about it because it won't change anything.

It doesn't matter if they strip us of every title they can because we will still have the memories of winning them of the title parties of helicopter Sunday (the helicopter the helicopter is changing direction Celtic are out of it.....) thanks to Peter martin for that we may be strip of titles but we'll never be stripped of the memories.

Thanks for the memories bears

Jamie .

Delighted with the thought of watching half decent players, they are much better signings that I thought would be probable.

However when you look at Black on £7k a week, if he takes Davis's place they have probably still saved £18k a week which is close on £1m per year.

I am impressed with Green and potential signings.

Believable26 Unbelievable21

Davis was on nowhere near £25k/week.
the highest paid player last year was mcgregor on 21k

Agree4 Disagree7

I'm worried about all this debt again---wages and running Ibrox etc.How can they pay for this?Who are the backers and is it enough to keep us going?

Agree10 Disagree0

If Rangers are paying Black anything more than a couple of thousand a week I will be astonished, no-one else wanted him that is for a for good reason he is not a good footballer, good at bad tackling, thats all

Agree5 Disagree4

Ian Black has never earned £7,000 a week in his life , i wonder why ?

Agree6 Disagree1

Its more money we need to find to keep us debt free actually i dont think that is possible , with the wages we are throwing about de ja vu

Agree6 Disagree0

Good to see a positive attitude buddy. but if marseille keep their European title. We're keeping our titles. No fkn way they can justify that. But you have the right idea mate, keeping the head up, well done.
Dtp89

Agree1 Disagree7

Aye - but these are not decent signings - if they were - the tims would just add another 1k per week and sign them from under our nose to pee us off - not just the tims but every other SPL club

Agree6 Disagree2

Ian Black is on 6,500 + 1500 appearance, + 500 win bonus, guaranteed, far too much, but that is a fact.
Craig Beattie was offered 1000, and that is why he hasn't signed.
Embarrassing offer, and the fans think that he has knocked back 5k+,that is not the case.
Keith Jackson has the full story, but Beatts will not let him run with it, until he's sure that he'll not make it to Gers.
He will sign for St Johnstone, if Gers don't make him an offer by lunchtime tomorrow, 2.5k and he's ours. 100%

Agree6 Disagree2

Offering beatts 52k a year is an insulting disgrace council electricians earn more.
And think of the NI and PAYE coming off. Gee he wouldn't be able to run a car.

Agree1 Disagree1

Oops. I commented under the wrong post ha. Was the post above this one I ment comment on(my comment above).
Ps 28k Davis was on an 23k whitts so 21 wasn't the highest .
Dtp89

Agree0 Disagree0

@6: there was no wrong-doing by Marseille in the Champions League which is why they weren't stripped of it: the wrong-doing was in the league. If Rangers are found to have had dual contracts then that is classed as wrong-doing and the titles may well be stripped as a result.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 Was Whittaker not on 25 grand a week before pay-cuts?

Agree0 Disagree0

@9: touch of sarcasm there about the car?

I am absolutely astonished that Sandaza, the Brazilian, Shiels, and Black. Whilst I am delighted that they have or appear that they will sign I am astonished that these players will play in div three. It is very likely that none of them will play in SPL and yet they want to sign. I can understand the likes of Kyle who is of an age and has suffered injuries but it amazes me that the others even consider it. I suppose
playing in front of a decent sized crowd has appeal
but it is still div three with no Old Firm games or Europe to look forward to.

I suppose that if ever proof was needed the only thing that is important is MONEY.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Correct I'm afraid. These older guys in the twilight of their careers are happy with the employment at these salary levels. If they could get better elsewhere they'd be there.
The downside is the appalling div3 pitches in Scottish winters which will result in injuries. Unfortunately older guys get injured easier and take longer to repair. Old muscles and cold sub zero temperatures don't mix.

Agree9 Disagree9

Older? Shiels, Black and Sandaza are 27. Not even approached their best years yet. Hardly over the hill journeymen at that age.

Rangers1

Agree7 Disagree3

27? Well guess the three of them will be in their thirties when Newco eventually get their maiden season in the SPL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Team for this season
4-3-3

GK-Alexander
RB-Broadfoot
CB-Boca/perry
CB-goian/Perry

CM-Black
CM-Jig
CM-Hutton

LF-Shiels
ST-Sandaza/Kyle
RF-Little {Ed039's Note - No left back?)

Believable2 Unbelievable6

We're playing with ten men to make it interesting. Shouldnt laugh as Black is in the team lol. Quality spine to the team with youngsters giving it depth when needed. I hope another 3 or 4 signings of at least SPL squad level are made. Dont have to be amazing, just dependable. CheltBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Take shields and little and put them in midfield and make it a 4 5 1 cause thats what we do ithink 442 is the best with sandaza and shiels up front

Agree0 Disagree1

Although Broadfoot has experience at right back, i dont think he is the answer even in the 3rd division based on the Brechin game. Do we not have another option in one of the younger players to get a chance in this position

Agree1 Disagree1

I think Lee Wallace will make the left back position his own during this campaign.

Agree1 Disagree0

Maybe Lee Wallace is away on International duty lol !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Broadfoot?? Can't risk him, we need to win not help the opposition.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd play Darren cole

Agree0 Disagree1

If he dosent , he should chuck it !!

David Murray to make a statement
on Ranger's EBTs today.

Have heard one rumour he already
has been notified of the result and
he's been cleared.

Interestingly enough the Rangers
Tax Case blog that campaigned
against Rangers packed it in
suddenly last week.

Anybody think the scheme might be
vindicated? This could be a major
result in our favour!

Hamish Watp {Ed039's Note - His statement has been made and it is nothing like that, the commission has not even convened yet so how can it be cleared?)

Believable1 Unbelievable11

I've read the statement and it's tokenism.
Some of it is good argument but the important regulatory issue is untrue and basically mendacious. The regulations were always in place and this is not revisionism nor making up new rules that never existed.
David Murray's knighthood is untenable and cannot endure.

Agree8 Disagree9

Who cares about his Knighthood. The honours system is just a farce. The vast majority are bought.

Agree2 Disagree2

Murray will hang for these statements

Agree2 Disagree2

David Murray wasn't awarded a knighthood for services to football it was his metal business and others in general, therefore doubt they would strip him .

Agree2 Disagree2

His knighthood was "for services to business in Scotland" right slap bang in the middle of cheating the British people of tax through offshore payments at MIH and rangers. Rangers then got liquidated, how can he keep a knighthood for that? He also borrowed eighty odd million from BOS with no hope of paying it back. Reckless gambling with other peoples money meanwhile paying himself £6.5m tax free on top of his regular salary funded by supporters ticket sales. His other board directors trousering 600 and 700k per annum in that heavily indebted tax evading business.

dean shields and sandazza should be the strikeforce for us they would be good partnership if we played two up front instead of the normal 4 3 3 or should i say 4 5 1 that it seems to be alot of the time does not suit us get back to playing 4 4 2

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Naa 4-3-3

little sandaza and kyle up top

Agree2 Disagree0

Kyle would be a waste of moeny, hes always injured anyway.. were playing div 3 man we should be starting little and other players that have come thru the youth and stayed loyal.. If little can score against hearts and celtic thn peterhead shouldnt be too difficult..

FauldsRFC

Agree1 Disagree1

4 4 2 because mcoist just play 5 in midfield and 1 up front look at the partner ship of boyd and miller i think sandazza and shields could do sumthing similiar for us

Believable0 Unbelievable5

06 Aug 2012 15:46:04
Not a rumour, but a question. A long shot, granted, but worth asking. Would Mccoist give a trial to a guy who has never played pro? My brother is an outstanding amateur player, based in the south of England. He also happens to be extremely successful in his career, and to date has been focused on that. He earns/career potential too much to have turned pro, at the level he could play. He's been offered pro terms by league one teams in recent years, and last year was offered a 6 month deal by a championship club, which he rejected. As a Rangers fan however he'd play for us for a small wage, taking the risk of jacking in his job etc. Anyway, thoughts on how to take this forward, or whether there's any point? HE's 28 and a left sided utility player. {Ed039's Note - Sorry mate, probably not)

Believable3 Unbelievable3

If he is financially secure enough to take a chance on rangers, why not take the 6 month deal in the championship?

Agree3 Disagree0

Probably wrong place to ask here. Best thing is to contact RFC at Ibrox and Auchenhowie

Agree3 Disagree0

In response to the reply. He has a fantastic career in London and realised he'd never make the level of premiership. He isn't financially secure, rather has a great job with great prospects. Therefore made a hard decision to focus on his work. With regards Rangers, they are the only club he'd consider. I'll contact RFC and revert back to you guys on response, if any.

49000 at celtic game sat 53000 at celtic game last wed total 102000. Rangers v malmo 28000 and rangers v hearts first game last year 50000 thats 78000 difference 24000 at say an average of 20 pound is almost half a million more income for celtic. Thats why sir david had to use the ebt or rangers would not have been able to compete with celtic year in year out.

Believable13 Unbelievable19

OP - Murray wasn't there numpty. Anyway what you all het up about a div 3 team for?
20% of your fans didn't bother to turn up on Saturday and the crowd on your biggest day of the season, flag waving day, was below last seasons average.
You might have made more money but have done hee haw with it.
Your stadium is loosing you money.

Agree10 Disagree5

Last weeks game against Helsinki was a freebie for season ticket holders, how do you get income from that?

Agree10 Disagree4

The 53000 at parkhead during the week was a season ticket game so celtic gained no more than they already would have, if anything it cost them... I can see your not in the financial industry with calculations like that, big stadium means higher costs but i guess that wasnt part of your financial breakdown !

Dont usually copy and paste but thought this was worth putting on here

On behalf of the Rangers Supporters Assembly, The Rangers Supporters Trust and The Rangers Supporters Association, we would like to make the following statement about the investigation into so called “dual-contracts” by the SPL.

“Rangers fans are becoming increasingly concerned about the details emerging on the SPL investigation and tribunal being set up to deal with the allegation that so called ‘dual contracts’ were used by Rangers FC. As with other consequences of the mismanagement of the club in recent years, if there has been wrongdoing then we would be victims, too. We are asking for justice and fairness, but in discussing the stripping of titles, it appears the SPL has assumed guilt when nothing has yet been proved.

There are a number of areas of concern that we would like addressed in the hope that the football authorities will now act with the necessary independence, transparency and integrity.

Conflict of Interest - There would appear to be a serious conflict of interest in the choice of law firm appointed by the SPL to carry out their investigation. Harper MacLeod have acted for Celtic FC, who would be the main beneficiaries of any finding of guilt in the case. Indeed, until it was recently removed, they included a testimonial from Celtic CEO Peter Lawwell on their website. The SPL could have chosen any law firm to carry out this investigation and it was extremely naďve of them to appoint a firm with such a close connection to a rival club.

Prejudicial Media Coverage - There is a concern that any tribunal appointed to rule on this matter will have been seriously prejudiced by the negative media coverage surrounding it. Several managers and chairmen of SPL clubs have attempted to prejudge the matter in the media over the past few months. This includes, but is not limited to, giving opinion on what the punishment should be. This has led to a media feeding frenzy which will have been difficult for any potential tribunal member to disregard. We want reassurance on the selection of the tribunal members and confidence in their impartiality.

Focus on Most Severe Sanction - We are concerned that, despite the SPL having 18 sanctions available, the only punishment being discussed is the most serious yet no guilt has even been established. This, again, leads to a danger of exerting undue influence on the tribunal members through the media. We believe this is being driven by influential members of the SPL board and recently formed ‘steering committee’ with the most to gain.

Focus on Rangers - We would question why there appears to be no on-going investigation into the so-called “Juninho EBT” used by Celtic FC. Our understanding is that Celtic acknowledged that this was not declared to the football authorities as part of their licence application. If this is the case, then why is a tribunal not being set up to look into this? Did Harper McLeod, who include Celtic amongst their clients, investigate this matter as well? We wish clarity on whether there have been technical breaches at ANY SPL clubs over the past 10 years, with the progress of the investigation and the results being declared.
We want justice and fairness for all.

JG

Believable4 Unbelievable7

The Juninho EBT was declared to the SFA and cancelled when Brian Quinn pointed out the pitfalls of using them.

Agree14 Disagree6

The rest of Scotland wants justice and fairness for all - Hence the titles and trophies will be stripped from Oldco for the appropriate years. The evidence is there and no amount of tantrums by Murray, Smith or McCoist will prevent this happening.

Agree13 Disagree13

@1 The EBT and the tax and ni for it was paid some 3 yrs after the use of it. You saying that the sfa/spl were informed straight away?

Agree1 Disagree3

2) what evidence, is that the fact that EBT's were declared on accounts and those accounts passed by SFA and SPL?
The tax tribunal has not given a decision, and have taken months to decide and yet you know the answer?
Even if the titles are stripped you know who won, I know who won, everybody knows who won. You will never take that, so jog on

Agree4 Disagree5

This sounds like the same paranoia Rangers fans accused Celtic of having. I do not believe for a minutes that any of the footballing authorities are "Celtic minded", but what it actually is happening is that the people controlling the game in Scotland are no longer "Rangers minded". Or if they are, then in modern society where everything should be transparent they are not able to act in the way that they did before (the Cadete incident springs to mind). This seems to be hard for you to take, that you don't have people at the top looking after your interests and have to fend for yourselves as every other team in Scotland has had to do.

Anyone else a little concerned about the amount of wages Rangers must still be paying out? With the money Goian, Broadfoot, Wallace, Bocanegra, McCulloch were already on, then the wages we offered Black, Shiels and now Sandaza who is now apparently happy to come even though the wages we offered last year ware an insult in his words. Must be an improved offer now for him to drop right down the leagues.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Simple.Sandancer needs the gig! how many offers has he had?

Agree2 Disagree2

Sandaza ,Black , Beattie or Kyle , will come to play for £5 /£7k any day.... with 23 players wages off the wage bill & Goian , Bocanegra & broadfoot ready to go as well, then , i think we can handle it ..at least these new players wan't to be part of the journey .

craig beattie getting dogs abuse on twiter etc today....because of scott burns "beattie wants more " headline in the star.
his offer is less than a 5th of what black is on..but he hasnt come out and said it out of respect...however..after the abuse...keith jackson is going to set the record straight tomorrow and divulge how much he was offered trust me...its embarrassing for us.

what is it with celtic with this hidden agenda against rangers both their manager and director has slagged rangers off for the past few years now the have lead the investigation into the EBT with lawells daughter working within Harper mclead lawyers this is a total breach of conflict of interest. and might i add should be done independently. and by the footballs governing body. not by the opposing teams greatest rivals. and here we have all this talk of integrity recently in the within the scottish game .well from my point of you this is nothing but BIAS CORRUPTION and something should be done immediately about this attack on our once great club (GSTAR)

Believable16 Unbelievable9

Gossip and not factual im afraid.Lawwells daughter had a work placement there TWO YEARS ago! These supporters groups might find themselves on the end of a lawsuit if there not careful.

Agree7 Disagree8

What a complete load of nonsense. Making up lies, is that the only defence Rangers fans have? Lawwells daughter isn't employed by these solicitors and Lawwell didn't previously have an approval reference on their website. In fact I don't even think they've previously done any work for Celtic at all. Celtic always used the late McBride.

Agree6 Disagree9

This is now verging on pathetic. Harper McLeod are a well respected law firm indepentently appointed to investigate these allegations. Nothing more, nothing less. They were not appointed by Celtic. For goodness sake what if Lawells daughter works for them, she is hardly going to be directing or influencing the enquiry. I would imagine like any Scottish companies there will be Celtic and Rangers supporters amongst thier staff. Should that prevent them from carrying out thier enquires? And before you shout Timmy conspiracy I am a St Mirren season ticket holder.

Agree6 Disagree9

@3 and what about Manus Fullarton Celtic and ex Lloyds at Harper McCleod? Harper McLeod have defended Neil Lennon in March 2011 against an SFA charge.
For clarity the investigation should have been carried out by a firm without any connection to any SPL team, never mind the team who will gain the most from the result. That firm could then have reported back to any cmmt of the SPL.

Agree9 Disagree5

Solicitors represent one crime family one week and then another crime opposing crime family the next week.

So if a solicitor does one job for a football team they cannot thereafter do a job for the SFA? Absurd!

Agree2 Disagree1

@reply 3 Harper Mcleod are a well respected law firm then look at the guys post above read the link i think you'll find well respected doesn't come into it. http://www.bentjudges.com/Harper_MacLeod.html

And Campbell ogilvie as president of the SFA isn't. Not as tho he had an EBT. Oh wait he did !! Now that is a conflict of intrest

There is absolutely no evidence anywhere that this law firm Harper MacLeod have any bias against oldco Rangers.

They are going to strip us of our titles.

We need to be ready to stand and fight like we have never before!

GDog
RTID

Believable20 Unbelievable17

What a load of nonsense.IF,found guilty there can be no argument, titles will be lost. The investigation will be transparent and will be published. The rules are clear on this, side contracts are wrong, what the hell were the administrators at Ibrox thinking? To claim they did not know is worrying, they administered,so they should have known.More people taking big money and threatening the very existence of the club by turning a blind eye.Disgraceful.

Agree12 Disagree18

I think the stripping of titles is the least of Rangers concern regarding any EBT abuse.

Why did you think Green made such an huge issue of it, considering it will have no impact whatsoever going forward and making profits for shareholders?

Agree8 Disagree8

Keep protesting, complaining and appealing at every opportunity any charges, findings or injustices directed against our club, especially from Harper MacLeod/Celtic. Our three main supporters groups must also stay united to challenge anyone that has an agenda against Rangers.

Agree16 Disagree8

What actual evidence do you have that the decision has already been made?

Do you know what actual prima facie evidence has already been discovered?

In fact, a question for bears only:

Who thinks we are guilty of using dual contracts?

I suspect we were but couldn't say with any certainty.

Agree7 Disagree5

Not being nasty, but if found guilty what can you do about it,decision already made surely you don,t beleive that.garlar07

Agree4 Disagree6

Correct GDog. Too many connections between Harper McCleod/manus Fullarton ex Celtic Pools and Lloyds/Doncastor/Regan/Liewell/John Reid. All being under the elite members club of the SPL, a law unto themselves.

Agree12 Disagree5

Where are you going to stand and exctlacy who are you going to fight?

Agree7 Disagree6

I think it's time to stop caring about the people trying to destroy rangers they fail at the thing they wanted most to kill rangers of completely. If they manage to get us striped of titles who cares it will be a hollow victory for the we hate rangers mob. I for one am just happy we still have a football team to support and this is the biggest challenge for all rangers fans making sure we continue to support through these difficult times.

Agree3 Disagree3

The military language that has always been associated with Rangers particularly management, fans and sports hacks needs to stop. There's no fights wars nor battles. There's no vanguards, soldiers nor armies.
Decisions are carefully taken in boardrooms and that's it. Get over the foolish military jingoism.

Agree6 Disagree7

Why did you think Green made such an huge issue of it.

Not sure, why don't you tell us?

Agree1 Disagree1

Harper Mcleod Celtic solicitors and Manus Fullarton also worked with Harper McLeod and Celtic and Lloyds TSB dealing with Murray's debt, Michael Nicholson of Harper McCleod has acted for Neil Lennon in March 2011 during a disciplinary hearing, /Nolan Partners headhunted Doncastor and Regan for the SFA and SPL Paul Nolan of Nolan Partners is a friend to Kevin Reid, John Reid's son/ Liewell's daughter works with Harper McLeod.
That's too much of a coincidence and must have a declaration of interest made for all to see.

Agree9 Disagree4

Gdog, whats it got to do with you ? it's dead rangers that will lose the titles

Agree1 Disagree2

I suppose when the titles are stripped McCoist could always fall on his sword.

For those who don't care I really don't understand how u can be Rangers fans, as for those of talking about 'what do you care' it was the old guard, eh wit?? There is no old guard it's the same guard under new rule with the same history.

Most of you are an example of what's wrong with our society. NO BACK BONE!
No care and just bone idle lazy b@stards who are bored and numb! Most of you probably wouldn't have given a toss had the club gone! You take everything for granted and are prepared to sit on your fat @rses whilst others make the noise and try to protest when wrongdoing is afoot.
Your disgusting, weak and blind
