Looking forward to the game, the full house, and the atmosphere tommorow, St Mirren are in the process of rebuilding as well and flying under the radar Its all been about Rangers and Hibs so far and I'm sure Murray will have them in a defensive formation can't wait to see us attack them!

We should warmly welcome today's new appointments to Craig Mulholland's coaching staff at Murray Park. As part of the healing and rebuilding of our broken club, this is a hugely positive step towards serious professionalism on and off the park. Knowing the antecedents of one of the young men involved, I am delighted by such well-researched recruitment, To further reflect the transformation W&W are attempting at first team level, one would hope that an impressive Chief Scout can soon be appointed to initiate the flow of promising young talent to a revitalised Rangers. Probably the biggest gap at the moment. Foundations are being put down, Fellow Bears, but it will be a turbulent journey and we will all need patience. Looking forward to seeing a packed Ibrox on BT Sport tomorrow night and so wish I could be there.

This can only b good news.

Rotherham Utd have withdrawn from talks with Hibs about Scott Allan after being informed the player wants to continue his career in Scotland.

Alan Stubbs interviewed today and he has said that Rangers are the only club to have submitted bids for Allan. So the 375k bid from Rotherham is complete nonsense. Don't really care if he arrives now or next summer. The league is ours either way WATP

Dave I think we should have enough to win the league this season. However, I don't think we should be shouting it from the rooftops before a ball has been kicked in anger

perhaps we should just close the book on Scott Allan? he is a good player but the situation is getting tiresome and we don't REALLY need him. There are other players out there, and some also already at Ibrox that can do a midfield job for us. Murdoch, Shiels, Walsh Law, Holt, Halliday, Thompson
so let's just get on with playing footie meantime.

Scott allan is what we need though someone who can unlock a defence! Failing that the boy Macleod from Brentford would be alright .

06 Aug 2015 15:50:30
wee bill warburton must want him or they would not keep trying but it maybe the secondry abvantage which takes a valuable player away a rival and the minute he signs longterm contract his value will double

Scott Allan will come to us why would he want to play English third tier when he can be part of something special with the team he supports just my opinion

Any Bears on here heard of a Scottish player plays in Scotland I think called. Scott Allan?

Now don't shoot me this is only a rumour I have heard from a very reliable source Rangers are interested in signing him and may place a bid.

Who does he play for and any opinions on him

It's not.Scott allan it's Scott martin and Lewis Allan from hibs we are trying to sign. Lol

Either this guy has been under a brick or was drunk and blanked out these past few weeks. Or a Wigan fan. Ha!

Done some research for you KT you seem to know the name but not the club whereas Cee seems to have the name wrong but maybe got the club I am therefore thinking you looking for someone called Allan from Hibs.
If my research is right I can't see anyone welcoming this person to rangers no way for Stubbs joining and if this is the correct person just hope it was verbal Lol

06 Aug 2015 07:48:13
Well with us set to bid again for Scott Allan at least we know it has to be more than 375k but the way the board has set about these ridiculous offers I can honestly see us offering 400k which will obviously be rejected I say wee bid 550k and get him in Asaph, I think he will jump at the first offer that's accepted by hibs

Believable2 Unbelievable4

06 Aug 2015 12:52:41
How is it ridiculous rangers have acted above board and professional in this entire process. If I was the board I wouldn't be offering anything close to 500.000 we signed 3 players from Wigan for close to that amount.if he really wants to come then wait until next summer and don't give hibs a penny!

Agree4 Disagree1

06 Aug 2015 14:35:26
It's my opinion we offered what 275k in instalments? Allan is worth between 500k and 700k no more than that considering his contract and league, Rotherham offered 375k upfront and we are to make a 4th bid meant to be lower than that of Rotherham which I find completely stupid.

Agree0 Disagree2

06 Aug 2015 12:26:52
I think they were testing the waters with the first bids. Job satisfaction is what most of us want and why shouldn't it apply to Allan? He wants a career at Ibrox. Who the hell are Rotherham anyway and coming in at this stage to muddle things. I don't even know were the town is. Yorkshire yes but that's it.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2015 15:07:43
see this instalment chat where did it come from? as from what I have heard it was 275k upfront. The only people I have heard saying Installments are Celtic and Hibs fans. And our next offer is meant to be 450k apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2015 17:07:13
Rotherham didn't make a bid

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Aug 2015 21:17:03
To wee cubby, so east enders can buy a recognised top flight player for £250k ( albeit from a manager who is ex celtic who receives a cut from his transfer fee ) but it is absurd for us to offer similar money for someone yet unproven at certain levels, think u may be someone in disguise

07 Aug 2015 07:56:54
So stubbsy reckons Sa is worth 1 million. I bet his current contract nowhere near reflects that figure.!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2015 07:08:14
Let's forget SA for now - this saga is making us look silly. Let's do business the way we used to. Make it happen & then tell everyone . Let's move on with this one. Looking forward to full house on Friday!

06 Aug 2015 12:25:32
Hibs are the ones releasing all the bids, they are trying to start a bidding war lol. So much for trying to keep him.

05 Aug 2015 21:34:04
If there are other clubs in for SA can His salary be matched staying in Scotland?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed039's Note - His salary at a Rotherham or a Wigan?)

06 Aug 2015 13:17:15
If we pay him the same wage we are apparently paying the other new guys then yes we can easily beat Rotherham or Wigan with wages.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2015 15:46:38
What would that wage be?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2015 16:36:21
The new players are apparently on 5k-6k he gets 1.5k at hibs and Rotherham only pay the average wage which is roughly 4k for championship teams, wigan would struggle to pay 4k as they are in League one.

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Aug 2015 09:46:15
Championship players earn an average salary of £195,750, League One players £67,850 and League Two £49,600.

Basically Wigan can't complete with us for him, and if they do they will pay above the average on his salary.

the Championship averages around £4,100 a week, so that is our Rival for him(any championship club) We can offer him maybe 5k a week at a push maybe 6k, Personally I think if the kid does what to come to us, he can get 3.5k this year and a wage rise to 5k next year, seems fair enough to me. Well it is fair if these are the true wages of the boys who all just came in. even if we offer 3k it's still double his current wage.

however it really shouldn't be about wages, If he is a true blue then he'll come.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is averages, which includes large numbers of youth players on a couple of hundred quid a week. The reason Forest are struggling to sign players in the Championship is because they are limited by an FFP sanction to only pay them a maximum of 10k a week. The average salary of a first team player in the English Championship is well over 10k a week.}

Fair point ed. However are those wages not for the top of the table rather than the bottom half which is where rotherham normally finish?
