06 Jun 2018 21:15:07
Hi everyone, getting away from transfer rumours for a bit . Do you think there, s any chance of the club trying out a safe standing area. I know this could be a delicate subject but I have thought long and hard about this and I think that the enclosure area for example might be a good area, in the big games a lot of fans like to stand up and in a seated area this might not be the safest. Just like everyones thoughts.

06 Jun 2018 23:22:47
The enclosure was amazing for atmosphere when it was terracing! But i thought there was talk or a possiblity of having it in the front of the Copland if enough season ticket holders want it!

07 Jun 2018 05:49:31
I think with celtic now in the corner for games the logical place to have it now would be broomloan front. Saves moving UB etc

07 Jun 2018 09:44:48
Paul what corner are ce*tic now in?

07 Jun 2018 10:12:53
Same as everyone else.

07 Jun 2018 12:03:42
Where did yous hear they are just getting the corner?

07 Jun 2018 12:25:07
Sorry lads just back from abroad and your posts were the first i'd heard of it, fantastic news but what are all the fans saying to it? I have argued long and hard to get their tickets slashed and allow more Gers fans into Ibrox for the big games but kept getting shouted down.

06 Jun 2018 20:06:52
Yeah watching the u21 game. What chance do they have when the management team sit on their arses no motivation 7 min to go and 3 one down before bringing on a sub middleton should have been on as soon as they scored their second unreal.

07 Jun 2018 12:22:37
Watched the under 20s game Oliver Burkes attitude was terrible. he's got the look of a boy thinking he's done it all already.

06 Jun 2018 19:24:03
Wee lad McCrorie should be our number 2 next year. Behind The shaggerbomb.

06 Jun 2018 19:48:03
As a number 2 you are required to step in and fill the number 1 jersey when required

Scenario. McGregor goes off 10mins into the game away to Aberdeen, mcrorie comes on in his place.

That's why he shouldn't be number 2.

06 Jun 2018 19:55:08
Sad to see Kelly leaving but understandable. I would certainly have preferred to see him fill the backup role. McCrorie will be on loan for a year and when he returns he could have challenged Kelly for the back up role.

06 Jun 2018 20:41:02
What about Foderingham or Alnwick?

06 Jun 2018 23:38:02
We shouldn't be holding on to both Fotheringham and Alnwick. Personally I would look to cash in on Foderingham. He won't want to sit on the bench and he is no where near the quality of McGregor.

07 Jun 2018 00:04:19
Foderingham can go

07 Jun 2018 00:04:40
Alnwick will be back up. Mcrorie behind him for now

06 Jun 2018 16:30:00
Just a thought fellow bears every 6 to 8 years countries go threw wee purple patches with regards to producing talent.
I feel that sg should be looking at the german and italian markets. I was reading recently that both their under 21 coaches where struggling to select a squad due to the amount of talent coming through and that where avail to them. Germany had totally revamped their whole youth set up a number of years ago and its now paying dividend. i'm sure that both the gers and sg have good contacts ie abertz and big amo that they could pick out a few gems in the 18 to 21 range thoughs guys.

06 Jun 2018 19:41:18
What happened to the Centre half from Germany we had on trial?

06 Jun 2018 20:11:29
Not sure mate strange time to give anyone a trial when most players are away either on international or holidays

07 Jun 2018 00:11:46
He is coming back when pre season starts for Gerrard to decide if he is what he is wanting

06 Jun 2018 16:01:15
Anyone think we should snap up mulumbu? He ran a mock in this lge last season. I know we hv a lot of midfielders but if we can offload a couple i think he would walk into the team.

Also is he still at killie or can we get him on free does any1 know?

06 Jun 2018 16:27:54
Id take mulumbu in a heart beat get rid of haliday holt bri ng in mulumbu wee need at least 4 cdm rossiter jack mcrorie and the experience of mulumbu would put us on a good note

06 Jun 2018 19:58:42
Getting rid of Halliday and Holt might be easier said than done. Mulumbu would be a good call but perhaps Gerrard has his eyes set on better options.

06 Jun 2018 15:55:00
Tilladie your radar is pish confirmed evans agrees to join leicester

06 Jun 2018 19:23:59
Glad we didn’t have that radar during WW2. We’d all be speaking German.

06 Jun 2018 15:07:15
So who has the best odds for the bears to win the league next season? A fancy a wee quick hunner on the gers to do it #letsfukinGO. 😀.

06 Jun 2018 14:10:00
Is Harry Forrester back now?

06 Jun 2018 15:14:02
hope no

06 Jun 2018 16:02:32
A forgot abt him lol. Mabay super stevie will give him a chance.

06 Jun 2018 21:06:08
I think the English contingent will try harder with Gerrard being the boss. They know we will have more attention and more of a chance of being spotted

06 Jun 2018 13:47:09
Murty is staying
TOLD YA.

07 Jun 2018 00:41:10
Fod good shop stopper but rubbish commanding his box need to get a keeper who realises if he has the ba in his hands thay cannocannot hurt us

06 Jun 2018 13:15:58
McGreggor, Goldson. Is Stevie Gerrard building a strong spine in the team that we have lacked? . Loving it.

06 Jun 2018 14:01:01
Goldson - who is he?

Am I missing something?

06 Jun 2018 12:47:12
Just had a wee nosey on the Brighton north stand forum and the trout they spout, Goldson ain't going nowhere as we have got a pot to p#@s in etc I really hope this happens as 1, he's a solid player who will vastly improve our defence and 2, to shut these guys up lol

06 Jun 2018 12:04:53
Wanted to give my opinion on the rumored transfer off Gareth McAuley Joining Us

Fristly I think for a season we can’t go wrong he’d be a great signing for us he’s a real leader and was one off the most underrated defenders in the premier league! watched him on many occasions and he’s a quality defender seems he’s got better as he got older

Secondly his leadership in defence is vital . we have none imo personally if we do sign him anyone think we should hand him the captains armband then hand it down to mccrorie? For me and a lot off Northern Ireland fans would agree his leadership is his best assist and I think him being captain and the level he’s proved and played at he could be the captain we need then next season then pass it down to mccrorie when he has improved even more as a player? thoughts guys?

It’s just a thought btw haha but since we not landing skrtel then for me this is the next best thing in terms off quality and even better since it’s a free!

06 Jun 2018 13:14:16
We already have Bruno who is 36. To be going to the World Cup with Portugal at that age surely must prove he has enough to handle another couple of seasons in the spl comfortably. Plus his actions during the semi final defeat against Celtic prove he offers a hell of a lot off the park as well.

Unless we shift Bruno, which I hope we don’t as I honestly don’t think McAuley is an improvement, then surely there is no way both of them can form any form of rangers fc defence at that age. No way they could play together and I don’t think they would be happy or the finances would allow them to sit on the bench either,

It has to be one or the other for me and I hope we stick with Bruno,

I also don’t want to be sceptical but if the “Gerard revolution” consists of OAP’s and youths on loan from Liverpool, then I am extremely underwhelmed.

06 Jun 2018 13:46:10
Think rossi terms would be a good shout for a captaincy position as long as he can stay fit in know he is young but his display against hibs was out of this world for a young guy who spent the season on the injury table

06 Jun 2018 14:07:44
I see your point Dunc! I’d also agree and say that I don’t want to see many players over 30 joining us. if anything I’d hope it just be McAuley and only him we sign that is over 30. For me you can’t beat a experienced cb with true leader instincts which imo we don’t have any centre back with leading quality’s as for Bruno he could leave or he may be just a quality sub like many his age have done at clubs.

06 Jun 2018 14:33:11
Any truth in johnny evans rumours

06 Jun 2018 10:53:50
I'm glad murty, s back. Was chucked in at the deepend. given no money. the man's a good youth coach and deserves his place at youth level he. s to soft to be a manager I'm sure the board just used him as a stopgap.

06 Jun 2018 11:42:26
Not sure about this. The youth team have improved without him

06 Jun 2018 12:00:24
Agree Chris. The youths started doing a lot better when he wasn’t there. I remember they were getting pumped by teams like Leicester then by the the end of the season they were beating these teams

06 Jun 2018 14:13:56
I'll always like the guy. Not a manager but I do think he gave it his all and you could see the hurt in him when things went wrong. A 100% decent guy.

06 Jun 2018 14:35:00
Surprised to see Murty back at the club? The way he he conducted himself at press conferences after hearing the rumours about Stevie G was odd and he was never ever in contention for the job a rightfully so! He was angry and felt hard done by which I found amazing after the way he set up the team for the semi!

06 Jun 2018 10:07:45
Tab and Hutton competing for RB and John and Wallace competing for LB is exponentially better than having Halliday and Hodson as emergency back up

06 Jun 2018 09:40:43
a name not many will be familiar with but Stevie G could do worse than looking at AZ Alkmaar winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh. 22 goals, 11 assits last season. in 33 games

involved in a goal every game, AZ not a rich club so could get him for 1-2m i'm guessing

would be a great signing

check him out and he's at WC with Iran

remember the name.

06 Jun 2018 10:33:24
Transfermarket quoting 7.2 million for the player, way out of our price range.

06 Jun 2018 11:13:09
and you believe the figures on that site BlueBoy? get him for a fraction of that cost, maybe 2-3m max

06 Jun 2018 11:42:57
His stats sound excellent but look at some others that had good seasons in Holland at clubs like AZ, Herenveen etc over the last few seasons clubs down south or in Germany snap them up for a small fortune, sure there will be clubs sniffing around but like you say mate if there is the off chance that he's affordable could do a lot worse

06 Jun 2018 11:50:16
Marius Wolf ( highly rated Left Midfielder ) in Germany who’s valued at 9 Million On transfermarket got sold to Broussa Dortmund for only 4 Million. that’s half off his valuation so my point is jbf500 is right! don’t go by vaultions on transfer-market we cold easily get him for 2-3 Million. would be worth every penny really talented prospect sadly doubt we will get him. probably move to Germany or Italy we’re a lot off Dutch players head to

06 Jun 2018 09:13:47
Morning Bears. I'm really excited about the new era under Steve Gerrard and the new signings already look good. What does anyone think about the existing crop of players coming good under Stevie G? I'm in particular thinking about Ryan Jack. If he is fit he'd be like a new signing. Dorrans too wasn't like his old self when he returned after injury. Also, if Morelos does stay and we sign a decent striker to partner him could he finally turn into a 30 goals a season striker?

06 Jun 2018 09:37:25
I just can’t see Jack getting close to our bench, he’s a complete liability who will cost us games. I honestly think he’ll end up at Motherwell.

06 Jun 2018 11:08:37
Targeted by refs last season. Red carded for passing a ball and accidentaly catching a player. Rogic shoots scores against us crunches into bates not even a yellow. Clear bias towards our players.

06 Jun 2018 11:44:52
I do hope Jack comes good for us this season there is a player in there but a fully fit Jack or Rossiter I'd take Rossiter all day long

06 Jun 2018 11:48:11
I agree with RfC_Chris. Jack was unlucky last season and was certainly targeted. Surely with Jack and Rossiter fit again there we have as good as two new signings. The jury's out for me with Dorrans and Docherty but on the face of it we've a strong squad of midfielders with McCrorie, Holt and Murphy too.

06 Jun 2018 11:56:37
RfcChris

Are you referring to the sending off at Aberdeen?

06 Jun 2018 12:01:51
Unlucky is one red card, when you get four in eighteen games (22% ) your simply a liability and need to move on asap

06 Jun 2018 12:40:08
It was 2.you can’t count the rescinded ones. That’s still not great but I think he can come good with Steven Gerard’s direction. We need a bit of steel, it’s been sadly lacking.

Review Of The Day 6th June 2018

06 Jun 2018 07:40:53
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 6th June 2018

05 Jun 2018 23:10:15
According to the Scottish Sun : Rangers on brink of £3.5m Connor Goldson transfer with Ovie Ejaria's loan move expected to be clinched on Wednesday.

06 Jun 2018 01:22:24
The sun sometimes make things up

06 Jun 2018 05:42:53
I’d say that’s 3 ‘better than we have’ signings with McGreggor, Arfield and Goldson (If true) . McGreggor and Goldson are definitely upgrades at the back where we are like a seive.

In general I’d still say that we need to cut away at least 5 or more if replacements can be found. Too many average midfielders and we have passengers elsewhere as well.

06 Jun 2018 06:04:04
Ohallaron, halliday, holt, forrester, dodoo, hodson, windass, wes and cardoso will all hopefully ship out.

06 Jun 2018 06:49:05
Gerrard seems to like Windass if reports are anything to go by and apparently he is willing to give Dodoo another look. We'll see if anything comes of it.

06 Jun 2018 07:26:14
Yeah a lot of folk do. Just my own personal opinion on windass. wouldn't keep dodoo. Also the whole wes/ alnwick debate. myself personally would ship out wes. With mcgregor obv number 1

06 Jun 2018 08:48:31
Dodoo will surprise many on here and have an outstanding season for us.

06 Jun 2018 09:14:49
yes he might not b the greatest midfielder but he puts him self about i think we should keep holt as cover

06 Jun 2018 09:56:18
Doubt it Bankie but hope you're right

05 Jun 2018 22:00:27
Reckon we are lucky to have Steve G as our new Boss and hope we get behind him and give him plenty of time to make us into a football team again. Steve G was a truly great player and I hope he can bring the same success that Dalglish brought to Liverpool. He, s got a really hard task but I am sure he will bring good players to the Club and given some time and gell them into a really good Team, something we haven, t had for a long time.

The amazing Rangers fans are due some good times after their terrific support and the desperate times we have all been through. All the very best Steve G you have the best supporters in the world behind you!

06 Jun 2018 06:40:13
I had a discussion with a few celtic fans regarding my praise of stevie G! How hard to understand is this fellow bears, because these celtic fans sure as hell just can't grasp the concept, of what i'm stating! I stated a FACT, that anyone with any gumsion about them would understand! My comments were that steven gerrard is a far bigger global name, than brendan rodgers and always will be a bigger name! They said no chance! I then tried to explain, that at this moment in time, rodgers is quite obviously a better manager than stevie G, as he's not been a manager yet, but still no comprehendy, to what i was meaning! Who knows gerrard may go on to become a better manager than rodgers also, as well as being a far bigger name!

06 Jun 2018 08:07:24
Coop, the Tim’s in my work were raging when we announced Stevie G, with comments like how can you afford him and it’s a disgrace you have appointed him with no money! They have had it their own way for a long time and I really think they don’t want any challenge after all Mr Liewell tried his very best to destroy and massively failed!

06 Jun 2018 08:21:27
super cooper is correct heres a fact great players never become great managers always the ordinary guy, gerrard is box office sometimes box office flops, heres hoping it doesnt, gerrard will attract players for sure. a blind man can see what needs rebuilding at rangers let's hope stevie g does as well

{Ed001's Note - Johan Cruyff would probably disagree about your 'fact'.}

06 Jun 2018 09:18:41
Coop can I suggest you take up herding cats as a hobby rather than attempt a sensible debate with any of the obsessed.

06 Jun 2018 09:19:45
Londonjock

Zidane has just won 3 Champions leagues in a row something no one has achieved. He could also play a bit

06 Jun 2018 09:50:28
london jock " great players never become great managers"?!?! what are you smoking my friend

Zidane, Rijkaard, Simeone, Enrique, Cruyff, Capello, Beckenbaur, heycnkes, Trappatoni, Guardiola, ancelloti. to name a few

all won major trophies as managers and i'm sure there's no name in there you wouldn't say were top players in there day

06 Jun 2018 09:57:51
Yeah and Guardiola was an ordinary player as well.

06 Jun 2018 13:43:30
Guardiola was one of the most under rated players in that barcelona team at the time. was a quality operator

05 Jun 2018 21:44:18
no hutton please. we have to move forward and shagger 's the one exemption of ex players returning. its like hooking up wi your ex again. never works.

06 Jun 2018 09:59:38
Can still be fun in the short term though 😜
