I cannot make it to the game on Saturday, so had to get shot of my ticket. Would love to have been there, but as long as we turn up and play it tight and hit them fast and hard, when we attack, then I'll raise a glass to a great victory.

07 Sep 2016 14:06:44
I am sure all the Celtic supporters will appreciate your kind gesture to the fantastic victory! Well done Billy!

07 Sep 2016 18:09:47
Be as wide as you like C., but the only thing that will be raised for a victory for your mob will be my dog's right leg.

06 Sep 2016 19:39:03
celtic fans are up in arms about a celtic fan being named the referee of the match on Saturday lol. i.

06 Sep 2016 21:55:03
What are you talking about mate?

06 Sep 2016 22:27:56
Hes talking abt wullie collum being a tim.

07 Sep 2016 07:36:47
all over social media going mental about collum being the ref and a few on their page pulling the conspiracy crap lol.
wullie collum is well known as a celtic fan and made one mistake in an old firm game, got death threats etc. and is now a rangers fan according to them lot!

07 Sep 2016 10:31:28
Never mind the fact he missed Wallace's blatant goal against them and also gave 2 dubious penalties against Aberdeen that all but wrapped up the league for them. It's good there getting their excuses in early, it shows that behind all the bravado they are still bricking it because of the footballing lesson we taught them last year. We get the first goal in Saturday the fold like a house of cards, they always do!

07 Sep 2016 09:31:29
Aye and remember he was the ref the nite they beat us 1-0 and wallace didn't get the goal when the baw was nearly down bridgeton cross.

07 Sep 2016 14:07:55
Haha making your excuses already LMFAO!

07 Sep 2016 12:06:33
who do we think would be that mobs choice as ref?

07 Sep 2016 16:14:57
Not making excuses maye just stating a fact that he's reffed 2 OF games and made a big mistake in each of them.

06 Sep 2016 17:35:20
I wonder if dave king gets 2 for 1 cinema tickets for switching energy companies lol.

06 Sep 2016 16:30:57
Hi Guys, haven't posted for a while. Just wanted to ask a question and see what you all think.

Whatever happened to coaching? By this I mean signing a player with the intention to make him a better player over a sustained period of time? Too many people think to compete with Celtic we have to go and spend the same as them to compete with them. Rubbish!

It's the head coaches job to get the best out of a player or players by finding their strengths and adapting them to suit the system the team is going to be playing. Walter Smith done this for Scotland. Exactly the same players to choose from as Berti Vogts but miles apart in comparison to how Scotland played.

Warburton has signed players who maybe haven't lived up to full potential in the past but got them playing really decent style of football. Not all have reached the same level, namely the defence but this
WILL come with patience and proper coaching. No need to run out and spend millions upon millions to keep up with Celtic or anyone else and that will be all the more rewarding when we win the league having well and truly lived within our means.

06 Sep 2016 17:37:52
totally agree with you! mw needs to be given time this season to mould the team into a great footballing unit!

06 Sep 2016 18:43:33
Couldn't agree more, iv been saying for ages the team needs time to settle into our club and gel as a team, they will come good, although it might not be this year, so i just hope the fans are patient and give the gaffer time to do his job.

06 Sep 2016 19:43:12
If agree with a lot that's being said, but it annoyes me when the gaffer doesn't even fill the bench even with a couple of young guns like Saturday 5 subs in a freindly!

06 Sep 2016 21:58:43
Great post bigbear, you're 100% correct. Look at the mess Rodgers got into spending all the Suarez money. Did absolutely nothing but take them backwards with it.
The defence is still the problem area but hopefully once Wilson is fit him and Senderos can forge a decent partnership a bit like Wilson did with Weir. If we win the league this year or next it will be our finest achievement.

06 Sep 2016 12:55:16
Reading in places people are upset with McKay this season. May I ask why? I feel we have been poor in the middle of the park which makes our defence look weak and our attack look poor. Once our midfield is sorted our attack and defence will look sorted almost simultaneously.

Who do you feel our most important players on Saturday and why?

For me it has to be Barton if he's as good at playing as he is talking we will be more than fine as I feel the game will be won in the middle of the park. It's my birthday today so I'm hoping for a good result to celebrate over the weekend. Come on the Rangers!

06 Sep 2016 13:20:07
Personally I would like to see McKay on the right wing.

Our most important players this weekend will be our four defenders, Barton and whoever plays alongside him in midfield. Celtic will come at us and they have very quick players. We need to be able to counter this and barton must control midfield.

06 Sep 2016 15:36:29
tom42 who would u have on the left wing then if McKay is on the right.
barton will have to close everything down as quick as he can but if he picks up a yellow i'd take him off straight away because they will play to get him sent to the stand.
personally i'd have rossiter on.

06 Sep 2016 13:56:49
Happy birthday mate your fishing for happy birthdays the real gift for all Rangers fans is not to get pumped and 3 points would be nice.

06 Sep 2016 19:39:27
Because he's been gash . Does that help RossW?

06 Sep 2016 20:28:43
The Wallace and McKay partnership is a real positive and provides significant threat. If they are both playing why would you split that combination from the off? We should focus on what we know we can do well and get the ball into the box for Miller, Garner or Waggy. Tav can do similar from the right. Let's bring their playhouse down!

06 Sep 2016 20:44:02
I would like to see McKay used on the right, would switch him with O'halloran at times during game keep that mob on their toes. In sayin that we really don't have a winger that's left footed do we?

06 Sep 2016 22:08:55
He showed he can beat a man on the outside in the last 10 mins against Kilmarnock. WHY DOES HE NOT GET TOLD TO TRY IT MORE OFTEN. Tried it twice created 2 chances. This cutting back rubbish has got to stop. He's got the talent to hit the byline but he's obviously being told to cut back and keep possession. Up until that last ten mins against Killy I think he's been rotten so far this term.

07 Sep 2016 10:20:39
Give McKay his due, he has been the most creative of our MFs this season.
When he does beat the FB and hits the by-line there is nothing to aim at in the box, and even if there is are our forwards imposing enough to win a cross in the air? not really. so the safest thing to do is look for a pass inside and try and build that way.
It will be different when Windass and Holt are back in contention, we will have more attacking options on the park.

07 Sep 2016 11:42:28
people are very harsh on one of our best players but for me the whole team haven't been as good as last year and no individual really has done great so why single out the young man .
and DJAB go back to the celtic sites mate your opinion doesn't count here.
if u are a rangers fan though you are a disgrace .

06 Sep 2016 12:48:20
Club legend Willie Henderson says club needed to invest a further 10m on players and Dave king has sold the club short. He thinks Saturday could be a wake-up call.

So who is first to brand this club legend negative? That's usually what happens when ever someone points out reality on here.

Or perhaps accusations of an agenda? That's usually what follows the negative rubbish.

06 Sep 2016 13:07:13
He's not being negative and he obviously doesn't have an agenda, but he does have an opinion and that's what he's doing, giving his opinion.

It's the same as what your doing, it's the same as what every Rangers fan is entitled to do, whether your a fan who goes to every home and away game, or a fan who just comes to the odd game here and there.

Obviously we all value an opinion of a Rangers legend, but I'm sure other Rangers legends would have different opinions from Willie Henderson and that's acceptable also.

Don't want to bring up the SF again, but I seem to remember a lot of "opinions" before that game from Rangers Legends, and they couldn't have been more wrong.

06 Sep 2016 13:22:12
Let's see what happens on Saturday first. Personally I would have liked us to bring in two quality centre backs. We have signed Senderos but ideally we would have signed a younger, quicker defender to play alongside him.

06 Sep 2016 13:49:44
Looks like I'll be first!
He is being negative! I think it would have been reckless of King and Co to spend another 10 million this season.
He is a club legend but it doesn't make him right. His is just an opinion, like mine, and we can disagree and there is no harm in that!

06 Sep 2016 13:53:43
mr nice, we don't have the ten million to spend, unless you want us to go back the way .
Get Ashley out of the way and hopefully a couple of investors, then we can start to up the calibre of player W Henderson wants, and yes I will say he is not so much negative but his heads in the sand .
Second place in SPL must be our aim for CL place,
Anything better will top the lot .

06 Sep 2016 14:19:28
It'd be easy to right off certain players from a Championship winning team.

If anyone has been given a hard time in the squad from fans, it's Danny Wilson.

Wilson is still young, and like Tavernier, Waghorn, Forrester etc. Wilson is a player who had great potential at a very young age, and should be given time to develop.

06 Sep 2016 14:25:30
he's entitled so say whatever he wants, but why rush out spend 10 million pound before we even set foot In the spl.
we are a work in progress not man city who can just go out and buy any player they want. most descent players won't even want to play in Scotland.

06 Sep 2016 14:33:56
No matter how many players we signed for each position, every fan wants "one more".

One more CB etc. Struggling to think where else we could have strengthened to be honest. We strengthened every position, and people are still not chuffed with the boards outlay, gees peace.

06 Sep 2016 15:33:08
Club Legend or not his opinion was ludicrous to say the least. the other mob only stretched to half of that sum and they have the european money. to say we should have spent £10m and in the next sentence say "we don't want to be going down that road again" is cotradiction in the extreme.

06 Sep 2016 15:38:02
The one thing I will agree on above everything I was privileged to watch the we man . Willie Henderson LEGEND.

06 Sep 2016 15:43:59
doubt that all of the rangers legends know exactly what has been going on behind the scenes at ibrox or how much its gonny take to get us back to where we are and I for one trust in king like most rangers fans do!
the guy will invest more money into the club once he has sorted out the retail side of things as that's one of our main sources of income each year.

06 Sep 2016 14:12:00
Everyone's opinion is different doesn't mean anyone is correct
You just have to make your own mind up what you see or believe,
they have a couple of good players with mediocre players round about
we have a team full of engines apart from hill niko and Barton just now so it's hard to judge.

There defence is nothing special and we have players who will thrive on that
Our defence is abit shaky so it's going to be a great game plus Willie collom is the ref so penalty sand red cards.

06 Sep 2016 15:40:52
All we hear is wake up call but there is and will be no such thing, we all k ow how tough it will be this season.

06 Sep 2016 21:00:35
It's not been the same this past week but now mr nice is back with his (I luv Ashley) narrative Infeel all warm again.

Wullie Henderson is an old man with a great history but his views are no more valid that anyone else's.

The difference between him and mr nice is that he has the club at his heart. he expresses an honest opinion on what he things needs to be done.

He's from a bygone era with little relevance to today's game.

07 Sep 2016 11:48:14
there are lots of legends out there that don't have a clue about what a director needs to do or what it takes to run a club but they just want to see rangers being the strongest in the league again no matter the cost.
as much as people are legends they are just people at the end of the day that have as much a clue to what's going on as we do.

07 Sep 2016 11:53:12
It's obviously just a story to make headlines. Journalist asks question worded differently > response is used out of context to create sensationalist headline on the week of the Old Firm game to sell papers. This has happened for many years and you guys need to stop reading s***e newspapers and taking it as gospel.

07 Sep 2016 16:17:29
It wasnt newspaper s£&@e mate he did say it.

06 Sep 2016 08:44:57
Do u think we could or should change system for the game this week. possibly three at the back considering our full backs are attack minded and would makebus more secure if we get hit on the break. Also means could only play either Barton or rossiter holding with two attack minded midfielder to compliment them with two up top. prob miller and garner with miller dropping in hole to make us more solid and play between the lines.

06 Sep 2016 09:25:29
Going to a three at the back takes quite a bit of time to perfect. I really wouldn't recommend changing to a 3 or 5 at the back and just keep it as a 4-3-3

We will do the exact same as the last Old Firm again. If Wallace goes forward, Tav will stay back and Vice Versa. A could team in my opinion would be:-

Wes,

Tav
Kiernan (has more pace than Wilson)
Senderos (better than Wilson)
Wallace

Barton (CDM)
Halliday (CM - Box to Box)
Windass (Creative player)

Waghorn
Miller
Mckay

I'd love to go for O'hal but Waghorn is a better and more confident finisher, Miller loves the big games and Mckay tore Celtic a new one last time, I expect the same again.

06 Sep 2016 09:36:45
Maybe we could or even should change our formation in the ways you describe for Saturday but the fact is we won't. MW only plays one way although he probably won't let both full backs bomb on at the same time which is how we played them last time. Think he will also look for the team to be at them from the off but whether he will pick a team capable of doing that we'll see. He may well pick Barton, Rossi ter and Halli day in midfield which I know would please some on this site as Halli day will get right intae them. As I've already said though unless Barton and Halli day buck their ideas up considerably our own attacking play will be slow, laboured, lacking precision and invention and we'll end up with Kenny Miller (who I think will play) having to come back to the half way line looking for the ball. Please, please let me be wrong though!

06 Sep 2016 10:26:41
Wilsons our best centre back, if fit he will play.

06 Sep 2016 10:28:03
Exact team i think aswell onlyshow. moh better if the game gets stretched in the last 20minz.

06 Sep 2016 10:47:26
If Barton, Rossiter and Halliday start in the same midfield we'd be as well not playing. The midfield is far too flat with the 3 of them together. IMO Warbs has to go for it, play Barton sitting with maybe Forrester and Windass infront. Miller through the middle with MOH and Mckay either side (Waggy and Garner off the bench) . I think if we're brave at the weekend and have a real go at them then we could come away from the piggery with all 3 points. Just an opinion though.

06 Sep 2016 11:26:39
One creative influence is enough with wingers. We need a deep lying midfielder, ball winner and then creative player. I'd go for Barton, Halliday, Forrester.

06 Sep 2016 11:36:30
Does no one expect Jordan Rossiter to start?

Great young player. Wouldn't be surprised to see, Barton, Rossiter, Forrester as a midfield three.

Can't expect Halliday to miss out but you never know with the options available in the midfield.

06 Sep 2016 12:23:23
Senderos better than Wilson at what getting injured?

06 Sep 2016 12:29:02
and Haliday as box to box? What has Haliday done all season other than steal a wage? We look at our worst with him in there look at all the games where he has started the first 45 were dreadful. He was piggybacking of Holts performances all last season. Would take literally any other midfielder over Haliday.

This will be the team I'm certain

Fod

Tav Kiernan Wilson Wallace

Barton Rossiter Windass (if fit although could be Kranjcar or with the gaffers record and to my complete distaste Haliday)

Miller Waghorn McKay

If Wilson doesn't start in your team when fit your insane. Would this be my personal line up if I was in charge? No but I fully expect this to be the eleven on Saturday.

06 Sep 2016 14:29:42
halliday worked harder than any player last year, he offers a lot more energy and work rate than any other player and his tracking back and tackling is excellent we badly missed him in the 1st half against Kilmarnock.

I agree about Wilson he's our best defender by far and is great coming out from the back but you have Miller in your team as a right winger that's insane!

06 Sep 2016 15:47:29
Can't say I agree Cee to me your mistaking Haliday for Holt. When he started we looked by far our poorest and I don't see what he does that our other mids can't do better. If you think about the three that started those games he was the poorest of three and he was playing in a position where he was supposed to be and he didn't offer anything, people talking about a complete lag of guile and drive in there and for me it was down to him playing with those kinds of players. Holt hasn't played and we look poor in there he's a player that can be completely overlooked at times. We don't have such a thing as a Right Winger the placement of that three in particular is not specifically how I'd start the game I'd have Waghorn out right as well although may I add this isn't the team I'd prefer its what I expect the gaffer to start.

06 Sep 2016 16:13:04
halliday was brilliant the last time we played selik and had brown in his back pocket the whole game to don't know where people have a problem with him he will play at 110 percent .

I wouldn't be disappointed if we played him .

id prefer rossiter to barton though the boy has earned his place and has played miles better than barton who I think will become a great player this season for us but hasn't as yet so rossiter halliday and windass would be good enough for me.

06 Sep 2016 19:40:11
I wouldn't play him I'm just saying I think people are being a bit harsh on the lad he is a good player.

06 Sep 2016 19:11:40
It makes more sense to play 3 cbs don't know if warbs will do it tho this game will prove if he can change it up a little.
We need to try something to stop them playing
Going forward I think we should be ok.

06 Sep 2016 19:21:22
Aye that's right Ross W. Andy Halliday had to play injured for most of last season as we couldn't get a holding midfielder in but didn't complain, played well and led by example.

This season he has a slight dip in form and he's stealing a wage! I know everybody is entitled to their opinion but your a mile out.
And incidentally I can't see Wison starting on Sat.

06 Sep 2016 21:13:13
My team for Sat.
Wes

Tavs. Sendaros. Wilson. Wallace.

Rossiter Barton Nico

O'halloran. McKay.

Miller.

Would like to see Garner come on with Windass and Forrester. Its a tough call regarding Midfeild and depending on how game is going how much time we give to Miller, this will be his last season on the pitch amd at some point this season Warbs will need to start utilizing Wags Garner Dodoo a lot more and bringing Miller on if needed. Also want to see us having a go from distance! We have the players that can do it as Nico proved and u can bet that that mob will be testing Wes from 20-25 yards out, just my my opinion Bears. We can win on Sat and to do it there would be brilliant!

07 Sep 2016 11:52:29
andy do you think niko is quick enough for this game yet.
I don't think he has the pace required and would make a great sub about 70 mins when things are getting stretched and i'd say the same for barton our midfield will be too slow if we play them from the start.
