Personally I feel like football Stadiums need terraces again, not the full ground being standing however maybe just the one stand like what they do in Germany, what is everyone else's opinion on this? it would increase stadium Capacities and potentially make football attendances ever so slightly better, it seems to be a craze in Germany. Let's face it most stadiums lack Atmosphere these days and this could potentially bring a bit back to football.

I don't see any problem with it. Not sure about the cost but if it's going to allow more people to watch the games then that must be a good thing. I also agree that standing areas do increase the atmosphere. Maybe another poster will confirm this but I think that these standing areas can also be easily converted back to seated?

Absolutely sir, couldn't agree more. I'll never forget my first game in the Enclosure, bouncing about like an eejit singing and chanting stuff like, Andy Andy, gees a wave etc etc!
The atmosphere was always electric and friendly!

i do not see any reason for a part of the stadium cannot be made for standing but it would have to be done at end of season t accomadate everyone who would maybe need to move seats

I come on here everyday and have a look but all you see is SA this and that, sure the lads a good player and will be a Rangers player on a pre in January but can we get some other rumers from time to time

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - There are no other rumours, Warburton wants the player as more or less the final piece of his jigsaw, if we do sign anyone else in that position then the interest in Allan will drop until the new year)

07 Aug 2015 15:27:10
Not sure but I think we can only speak to him in January if Hibs give permission? Either way this is surely just a technical matter. What's to stop Allan and representatives from meeting in secret and agreeing a deal to come to Rangers in the summer? I'm sure it happens all the time. While I think Hibs and Stubbs are well within their rights to insist the boy stays with them or moves to a club in England or in our top flight, I can't help feeling that they are cutting off their noses. Clearly, he is going to join Rangers next season. Does anybody really think he is going to try and help Hibs to promotion in front of Rangers? The only way Hibs can save face imo is if Rangers come in with an offer too good to refuse, or he agrees to move to England or a Scottish team in the top league. Doubt if we will spend over the odds when we can pick him up for free. As other posters have said, we seem to have more than enough in just now to easily skate the league. The other scenario where he moves to another club - clearly he has told Rotherham he is not interested. The only way I can see him going now is if another more fashionable English Premiership or top Championship outfit comes calling offering wages too good to pass up - he has a young family so that could be a possibility. Realistically, it looks like he's going nowhere for now

Hope the retro shirt protest against Sports Direct & Ashley goes well tonight.
It will be a good show of strength and show how much money they are NOT getting from loyal Bears.
Onwards and upwards.

Sadly it won't do one bit of good as the board well know. King should just pay Ashley what is owed to him and the idea of using it as a bargaining tool is unbelievable when you consider SDs profits continue to rise and Fat Mike can make five million in a matter of days.

The longer King doesn't pay the debt the longer Ashley will stick to his deal and it's time more fans asked just why he won't give Ashley his cash.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Aug 2015 15:31:36
Correct me if I'm wrong(I probably am) but for king to actually be able to pay off the 5million owed to Ashley he has to put said cash into rangers, which would be taxed, this means he'd have to put in roughly £10,000,0000.00? just to pay off Ashley.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2015 15:58:59
Possibly because he doesn't have the cash to give

the negoiations that are taking place will produce results king has one or two things regardind ashley sports direct and the period ashleys men were running the club and there will also be a spin of from the police investigation

Naz you don't half talk pish the most idiotic thing DK could do would
be to pay the PALTRY £5 MILL to Ashley
Make him wait and let him realise how much money he is losing when trifling with Scotland's biggest club

With reference to Scott Allan -

RFC make offer for SA;

HFC make offer known to BBC and The Scotsman;

SA agent makes it know that he has gentleman's agreement - legal in Scotland.

RFC make additional offer;

HFC make it known that they have received another offer.

HFC refuse to comment on SA gentleman's agreement;

Stubbs discusses SA bids with media;

MW refuses to discuss SA bids with media;

SA puts in written request;

HFC refuse to discuss SA request;

Stubbs tells BBC and The Scotsman that he has called MW;

BBC states that Rotherham and HFC are in discussion;

Rotherham manager pulls out after talks with SA agent;

HFC state no bids other than RFC;

Stubbs calls MW?

Stubbs tells BBC SA is worth £1,000,000.00?

HFC / Stubbs would rather lose £400,000.00 than sell to RFC;

RFC will make final bid to HFC to ensure SA that RFC are committed to signing on pre-contract.

What Ed said

Ed was just trying to point out that it is Hibs who are the ones who are discussing the situation and not RFC.
It is Hibs who are trying to sell him down south and screw RFC.

At the end of the day it is Hibs loss - man and monies!

07 Aug 2015 10:36:08
U won't have to worry about putting in 1 million pound offers because u don't have the money to do that! Come out of dream land pal! Uve had 3 bids and not one has been over 300 grand! But your going to bid 1 million! Lol

If he plays a blinder and attracts offers from south of the border from bigger clubs than Wigan and a higher wage he may go for that option he has the potential to be worth 4mill in a 3 or 4 years with European experience so a mill up front for the player we we want is worth it and remember we paid half that for Vuckic and co for half a season with no sell on value to try and win promotion

{Ed039's Note - The Toon 5 were not signed for footballing reasons)

Stubb's comment shows we're wasting our and Hibs' time. With less than a year on his contract and wanting to join Rangers you can't compare Allan's valuation to McLeod's.

It's playing silly and I sincerely doubt Rangers has that sort of money in the transfer kitty anyway. I see us waiting til January and signing him on a free for next season and sad as it may be, let's see what Holt, Walsh and Thompson have to offer in the no. 10 position. Lots of talent there.

agbroxi - we don't have £1mil, we didn';t have 275k??

wake up man!

your falling into same bracket as those who are saying we will walk/canter/stroll this league - we haven't even played a league game yet!
there are others talking about Europe next year ffs!

Can we not just enjoy (hopefully) the way things are going (football wise) for the moment & let the rest take care of itself.
onward & upward - sensibly!

dh88, unfortunately we cannot buy players for £250k, since we are not dealing with managers who are ex players and get a cut of the fee.

I read that Stubbs has said Scott Allan is worth £1m, has the Hibs board told him to say this? if that's the case, they're turning down money from us, whether they think it's derisory or not, they're obviously not very astute in doing business, because he'll be signing a pre-contract in January & will come to us next summer. for NOTHING, very clever, NOT :-D :-D :-D

Believable2 Unbelievable4

07 Aug 2015 07:10:44
Stubbs describes Rangers as being mischives in our bids for SA, and he called MW personelly after the 2nd new bid to tell him he was worth £1 million, Rangers are conducting their business correctly, how can you be criticised for trying to get a player for the cheapest possible, it is Alan Stubbs & Hibernian that are being mischives releasing any interest from any club to the press I understand they what the best possible price as well for SA

Believable2 Unbelievable4

06 Aug 2015 22:54:09
Rotherham say it wasn't a case of SA not wanting to come to Rotherham, but that he made it clear he doesn't want to come to England right now and wants to stay in Scotland. Yes, SA has previously stated that he wants to try again down south, but that's a few years away yet. There is only one club in Scotland he want's to be at. One way or another, he will be a Rangers player, maybe not this window, but if we get him for nothing then we are laughing. If we get him on pre-contract who do you think SA will want to go up automatically this year?. Exactly :-)

No guarantee whatsoever that he will wait for a move to us.
