hey just a thought. what do you guys think about the lad that was at Liverpool called Yesil? I know he had injury probs at Liverpool but he is fit now and I believe he is FREE! was tipped to be a really good player but had injury setbacks. that could be an option then any money the club does have could go to a CB. but as money is really low the CB will need to be free too lol.

07 Aug 2016 23:26:50
You'd think Frankie McP would know lot about this guy! Must not be of interest to us otherwise it'd have happened already.

07 Aug 2016 22:14:44
I think we missed a trick with Scott wooton who has left Leeds and signed for mk dons, this is the type of defender we need. Think it looks more like a loan deal now when the epl squads are announced.

07 Aug 2016 21:21:37
I know he's had his issues but I would take a punt on Daniel Osvaldo. After his issues he had in brittish football with Southampton I think he would be even more keen to show what he's capable of. Just my opinion but I think he would score the goals that we need to win this league.

07 Aug 2016 22:23:17
I like the lad Washington at Qpr. Watched him for northern ireland and he's a better player than lafferty and magennis don't know if Qpr manager rates him as he was a sub today. Wouldn't be a bad loan signing because I really believe that's all we will be getting. I haven't seen him at murray park are the garage are the new place the Indian restaurant! It's just my opinion.

07 Aug 2016 22:56:36
I reckon that boy aguero could do a job same as kompany bit injury prone though, heard he's on the 07.25 easyjet to glasgow stopping at the local garage then enjoying a late night indian.

07 Aug 2016 23:22:59
The guys is a complete idiot. Worse attitude than Balotelli. That and I'm pretty sure he's not going to sit on the bench behind Kenny Miller for £5k a weeek.

08 Aug 2016 03:14:30
StmonkeyRFC, Brilliant.

08 Aug 2016 07:54:13
WeAreRangers

You must be easily amused if you thought that post was funny. Not exactly a very original themed post.

07 Aug 2016 20:36:12
I think the man we're missing from the team is Jason Holt. Overlooked by many on here when setting out their teams.

He scored a lot of vital goals last year and drives the team forward and sets the pace of the way we play much better than Halliday.

Midfield 3 of Barton, Rossiter and Holt on Tuesday.

McKay, O'Halleran and Forrester up front.

Back 4 . oh crap! Can only think of 3 I'd play!

07 Aug 2016 21:09:39
Holt was terrific last season.

Great finishing, movement and all round technical ability. Honestly thought he'd get the number 10 shirt this season.

The guy has been injured and will be back faster and better and add to our great attacking threat.

All we need is a finisher and a centre half. New news I know but it has to be mentioned on every post made on this site.

08 Aug 2016 06:42:03
I have to admit I'm shocked halliday is ahead of holt in the pecking order, too many ready to write off kranjcar already after 1 bad game, the big man will be a class act when fully fit.

07 Aug 2016 20:19:45
Here's one for ya all, Tav as a number 10? Ohhhhhh yeah baby, can't you just see it, guys got it all.

07 Aug 2016 20:51:06
No the worst shout iv heard but we don't even play a traditional num10 hence the reason i think krankjar signing could b a waste of time and wages.

07 Aug 2016 20:18:44
there is so much tripe being posted on our sites here, if you threw in a few spuds and onions it could become popular again on the dinner table LOL.

07 Aug 2016 20:09:10
while a do not want to critise our board as there doing a good job i do have one concern and that's david king i would like to see sum cash invested that he promised to invest in first team squad quality players cost money and sinclair for the other lot is prime example gets the winning goal king is talking bout jan transfer window already.

07 Aug 2016 20:02:54
Anyone think the boyAli Crawford is worth looking at?

07 Aug 2016 20:33:22
no but mikey devlin is!

07 Aug 2016 18:34:47
Anyone thinking we'll get a CB on Monday so they can go into the team for Tuesday?

Ideally it gets a new CB and Wilson a chance to partner each other before Dundee.

If we were going to get a permanent cash deal or a freebie you'd think it'd have happened by now, so is a loan the most likely option?

Maybe even a loan with a view to a permanent deal next year? Clearly that was the thinking behind the Dom Ball deal.

Where's the negatives here?

Got to admit the most excited I was about a signing from last season was the loan deal for Gedion Zelalem. Though he'd have been a shoe in for player of the season. Wasn't hyped for Holt or Andy but they were amazing, how things turn out eh.

07 Aug 2016 19:18:55
Yeah Warbs told Frank to pop out to the shops and pick one up last night, should be getting back soon.

07 Aug 2016 19:20:54
Thorn76,I would love to see us using our relationship with arsenal and asking if we could possibly get the young centre half they signed from bolton rob holding on loan, holding is very highly regarded and anytime I saw him playing for bolton he was tremendous, my uncle who now lives in bolton and goes to watch a few of their games always raved about holding and said it was only a matter of time before a big club signed him, he also reckoned that holding would win a lot of caps as a full internationalist soon that's how good he thought he was, no harm in asking the arsenal, they can only say no, if you don't ask you don't get, holding would be a great signing for us!

07 Aug 2016 20:39:10
Wasn't Rob Holding Boltons player of the year Warburtonthefifteenth?

Would be a great signing in an area we really need.

Can imagine Warburton going into the Spurs or Arsenal U21 system to get someone of decent quality who's options are eirher to go to a Championship club or come to Ibrox.

Do you think a deal will be done in time for Dundee?

07 Aug 2016 21:11:52
Why don't you ask City for a lend of Iheanacho while you're at it?

07 Aug 2016 21:19:13
My dug could have got poty for bolton last year.

07 Aug 2016 23:19:00
Don't be daft. Arsenal serious need him this year. Gabriel just got badly injured too so chances are absolute zero!

07 Aug 2016 18:54:52
Had to be a loan. Probably ball or someone from the likes of arsenal or chelsea.

07 Aug 2016 18:25:33
I heard a lot last season about our style of play and it was referred to as " tappy lappy". Watching yesterday when the ball was played around the box very often the player receiving the ball had their back to goal. Invariably it broke down. By contrast look at the goal, that didn't come from tappy lapping Also the difference when MOH. was charging in goal bound. We have to mix up our play. It wasnt working in the first halfand the changes should have been made at half time.
Oh and the entire defence needs a re think.

07 Aug 2016 18:52:10
Forrester starts, absolutely needs to and sure he will. His first full season along with MOH.

They both need to start on a regular basis and get a good run of games which neither did last year.

07 Aug 2016 20:17:01
Totally, and get dodoo in as well, big ch then we're sorted, still think sender onus is coming as lol, I've been ploughing the web all day and there are a few pointers if you dig deep enough. May even see him at the petrol station before to long, I'm going to camp out.

07 Aug 2016 18:14:02
Some people need to calm down, we are back in the premiership, we have made improvements to our stadium, the management, the players (some positions still lacking! ) and are working on the merchandise drama with the snake.

We all know that the team needs this and that but I am sure the management also know this.

Stressing out isn't going to change the situation into anything other than one where, unfortunately we all have to wait and see.

07 Aug 2016 18:42:15
I agree we completely outplayed Hamilton just look at the stats. I'm sure during the season we will play worse and win. Barton was very good Mckay's control of long balls to him was excellent he did his job well. Forrester Rossiter and O'hallaran all looked great when they came on. Kranjcar was are one real disappointment. Even Tav showed he can defend. We need to create more obviously but we were rarely guilty of that last year.

07 Aug 2016 18:56:59
Please stop the panic nobody was or still is more disappointed than me but we need to give it time.

07 Aug 2016 18:57:32
We already played worse and got a win.

Some of our play at the beginning of the Motherwell game was woeful. That defence was awol for the early stages and should've conceded.

Barton was crucial for the goal in getting the tackle, which he did several times yesterday.

If Forrester and MOH started in place of Kranjcar and Miller, we have won.

07 Aug 2016 19:20:37
Mckay was stinking compared with his better games.

07 Aug 2016 16:50:06
I was at a famous Glasgow curry house this afternoon and you'll never Adam n eve it . Warns and frank were there again . They love a curry btw. There was another guy there with them (possible new signing? ) a black guy. Any thoughts who this could be fellow bears? He was brilliant on the karaoke they had on in restaurant, overheard someone saying his name was gupti Singh. Could be the soulful centre half we've been looking for? True story btw.

07 Aug 2016 17:59:11
Like it Djab.

07 Aug 2016 16:08:45
Watching the hearts game and i'm fearful for our defense hearts have big strong guys in there and unless we're careful could get done over on the other hand the other side of the city team i'm actually not that fussed over, once we start to click i reckon it could be a great season, some of the discipline was shocking though in the game no wonder hearts get fined constantly.

07 Aug 2016 16:57:58
Celtic will only get better as for hearts, well they are the most physical team in the league, they also have the worst discipline in the country. but as for Rangers, I'm really hoping that when we get everyone fit and get another defender in then hopefully they can gel, without dropping to many points, it was the performance that annoyed me yesterday, not so much the draw, I thought we didn't look fit and the team looked very disjointed imo, but it's only the first game and we need another 2 players, so here's hoping we get them in asap.

07 Aug 2016 17:01:03
And yet the other side of the city team get 3 points and you are not to fussed about them and fearful of the side that got beat blue tinted specs i feel. you have got to be concerned about the east enders and stop living off the result in the cup.

07 Aug 2016 17:34:54
We should be worried about every team we play in the SPL if we don't get a decent quality centre back since we will always be likely to lose at least one goal and there is certainly no guarantee that we will score goals, especially if Miller is going to be the first choice up front!
I would be worried about fitness, Kranjcer looks a mile of the pace yesterday Halliday looked lazy, McKay looked frightened to take his man on and kept going backwards. We need a central defender and we need a striker and quickly.
For me Rossiter and Barton should be the first names on the team sheet and I would like to see Holt play instead of Halliday with MOH on one wing and Forrester on the other with Windass through the middle at least until we bring in a quality out and out goal scorer.

07 Aug 2016 17:00:05
Question monkey, with hearts playing like that do you think you
wud have come out of that game with a win?
Tell u what they have a good strikeforce and I was thinking during the game there would be no way you could stop them with your defense.

07 Aug 2016 18:16:16
No we should worry about no one, worrying about anything has never been worthwhile. We should look to improve on our weaker aspects but we should also be positive. One game in and the doom and gloom massive have started already. Let's see where we are after first round of fixtures. Maybe people should lower their expectations and we might be realistically aiming for qualifying for Europe next season. We need a fair bit of rebuilding yet, but we'll get there eventually.

07 Aug 2016 18:21:36
Im not fussed as i know that we won't get outplayed on the park its our defense that worries me that's why i said about the strength and height, i know it's going to be a tough season but as i said i'm not overfussed about the playing side.

07 Aug 2016 19:14:15
I think we could of if our defense tightened up, let's be honest here even you must think that celtic aren't a brilliant team tierney at the back is a cracking prospect and griffiths up top is a good spl player but no one else is an stand out, come on in all honesty i think we'll all beat each other this year, hearts defense apart from patterson was poor aswell.

07 Aug 2016 20:52:50
Cuillin72

Sounds sensible but some the older supporters don't want to "lower" our standards or expectations thereon.

07 Aug 2016 15:23:01
As you know fellow bears I posted on here weeks ago now that I was told rangers were in advanced talks with under armour to take over from puma to become our new kit manufacturers, a guy I speak regularly with at ibrox told us yesterday at the game that he was told by a manager of a sports shop who he's friendly with that its NB (new balance) who will be our new kit makers which will be announced within the next month or so, one way or another this kit carry on has to be sorted out pronto as there's big money to be made by us with kit sales, my info is that its definitely under armour but time will tell, if its a straight fight between under armour v new balance to become our new kit makers then I prefer and hope its under armour, what do the rest of you guys feel?

07 Aug 2016 15:34:43
New balance seem to make decent kits but i would prefer under armour looking at some of their stuff.

07 Aug 2016 15:57:03
Don't care who makes our strips as long as rangers get a better deal. until then I'm not buying anything.

07 Aug 2016 16:26:36
I won't hold my breath where Ashley is concerned. But if it did happen I like underarmour spurs stuff look classy w15.

07 Aug 2016 17:00:28
Agreed hooly 78,Ashley won't just rip up his contract, unfortunately green gave him that contract and it won't be easy to get out of it.

07 Aug 2016 17:38:55
Before we start to worry about who makes our strips we need to look at how we can get rid of Ashley and the best way for me is to try and get everyone campaigning against him not just regarding Rangers but regarding everything he does in the business world. Harness the Politicians, the Trade Unions, anyone that will help bring him down and seek to destroy him. People won't generally give a toss about what he has done to us alongside his pal, Green, (unless they are Rangers Supporters), but there are enough people out there that would take action against the way he runs his businesses and treats his staff.

07 Aug 2016 16:16:29
1 of you're sources is telling you lies then under armour or new balance.

07 Aug 2016 16:46:00
More likely to be under armour as they already work with sports direct. However 18 months is a long time. Who knows what will happen when the contract with puma runs out? Can't see NB or Under Armour buying Puma out.

07 Aug 2016 16:49:41
So how is it going to work?
Under Armour will be prepared for a protracted court battle against Ashley along with us?
Potentialy running to millions of pounds.

07 Aug 2016 17:52:10
NB have shelled out over 25 million for the celtic deal warbs15.A figure DK would have wet dreams about. Puma and SD have watertight contracts so the ditching of Retail is total fantasy. Mr King knows he can't challenge these 2 Massive Retail outlets. Sad but true mate. Not wanting to criticise you post but in Reality NB have far bigger fish to fry in the retail world.

07 Aug 2016 18:17:47
I may also prefer UA to NB however some concern regarding sizing - my colleagues advised some my robust fellow supporters may struggle to get into shirts given their tight fitting?

Xxl maybe required.

07 Aug 2016 15:15:36
Fair amount of panic merchants on here. also the slating of Dave King is unjust, you can't please people who don't want to be pleased!

07 Aug 2016 16:39:18
I agree, too many folk jumping the gun. Too much negative comments regarding players that worked their socks off to get us back in the SPL. Far too much negativity regarding DK too.

We're exactly where we wanted to be since going down. It's a rebuild on a massive scale and quite frankly ahead of schedule.

07 Aug 2016 16:54:26
Looking at the game don't think we should be looking at the defence, we had 94mins to score and got the one goal
that is not good enough .

07 Aug 2016 17:43:18
Just because players worked their socks off in an inferior league doesn't mean that they are good enough for the SPL. For me the jury is out on McKay and Halliday and I would much rather see MOH and Forrester on the wings than what we saw yesterday. What is more, our centre backs were poor in the Championship last season and were found wanting in the Cup Final. We are a long way short of being SPL Champions and while it will certainly help when both Crooks and Windas are fully fit, Warburton needs to be given the financial support to bring in that missing bit of quality that is lacking both defensively and up front. Last season's players will not win this league.

08 Aug 2016 08:14:43
Give a man a fish and he will be content for a day, give him a fishing rod and he find every defect he possibly can about it.

07 Aug 2016 15:06:48
I see people regularly suggesting that if we can't beat Hamilton at home we'll get destroyed by the Sheep etc! This is nonsense, yesterday was poor but these games at home when we're big favourites could be the tougher games. Opposition written off prematch and consequently play with freedom and confidence, it happens all too often. The so-called bigger teams will try and outplay us and that's when we are effective. I have a strong feeling we'll take at least one hiding this season but these teams have weaknesses too and when it clicks we'll do a lot of damage!

07 Aug 2016 15:36:33
I agree with you rfcinfinity, I think all teams in the SPFL will want to prove a point with us this year.

07 Aug 2016 18:18:37
After Aberdeen's showing today, I wouldn't be too concerned.

07 Aug 2016 21:24:18
Well said rfcinfinity. u could go thru the last 50 seasons and ther will b games wer wev dropped points we shouldn't have but its football these things happen. we win, lose and fight together.

07 Aug 2016 20:02:30
Who will do that damage? He takes off 3players at a time, how can they gel? Why was Dodoo on the bench? Why start with Kenny? A superb grafter, but a dreadful finished, why play hill? Who is finished, so is Niko, btw, why can't he see we have no defence. ? What the fxck is happening? We could be 10 points behind in weeks, he, s had a long time to get a defense together, and we got a retiree from qpr? I know how difficult it is to get players in, but do you honestly think sellik are concerned. ? Not a chance, they know we are weak, full of wee boys playing street football. And a couple of finished players getting a lucky break, its awful taking 3 men off, its awful not playing the talent we bought, ie, MOH, JD, Forry, and playing guys who are done, Kenny couldn't use his left leg for standing on! keirnan is a donkey, as everyone but the manager knows and Waldo and tav are not good full backs, great against wheelie bins, but easy pickings for battle hardened teams, does nobody worry bout this, ?
Tommy.

07 Aug 2016 14:24:33
Don't want to be overly critical after yesterday and I still think we should continue singing we're going for 55. 55 points.

07 Aug 2016 14:51:08
Really! Are you timalloy in disguise.
How's your mob doing in Edinburgh?

07 Aug 2016 15:38:32
One result and all the "going for 55 team" are now back to slating our team, hating D. K and our style of play.

07 Aug 2016 15:58:38
Lol good post, well I thought it was funny.

07 Aug 2016 17:13:56
Thanks Delboy9. Thought I'd chuck it out there and lighten the mood a bit.

07 Aug 2016 14:05:44
Can anyone help me, the whole kit controversy is quite confusing, can we not buy any rangers merchandise because it goes to Mike Ashley or can we still buy retro kits and money goes to rangers?

07 Aug 2016 15:03:15
All rangers merchandise is sold through Rangers Retail Ltd. The club get totally stuffed on anything bought and the vast majority of money goes to lining MA's pockets. A boycott of any merchandise helps the club in negotiations as if no money is coming in then it isn't worthwhile to continue selling Rangers branded products.

07 Aug 2016 17:06:41
Unfortunately any club merchandise that is sold about 95% goes to the fatman, the best way to get out of this contract would be to go to court and fight it on the grounds that the previous board were not conducting business in the clubs interest, I'm not a legal expert but surely when your doing business for a public company, you should be putting the best deal together for that company, but as I said I'm not that clever about these sort of things.

07 Aug 2016 13:40:43
Who is gullible enough to believe King statement that we won't spend money now but there will be money to spend in January?

Clearly trying to appease fans who can see we need (not want) a new (and much better) central defender. Not to mention the fact we lack a striker.

Some might say he's invested money already, and he may well have, but the reality is he promised last season to spend money and didn't. He said at the time we would spend when we were back in spl, again we haven't. Now he's kicking it down the line again.

I don't want club to get into financial trouble again but he claimed he would invest his own money for a net outlay of 20-30 million (his words, not mine) . Aside from directors loans he hasn't invested anything.

Some might also say he's sorted us out off the park. I don't see that either- all he's done is seize control and started a war with MA that is harmful to the clubs interests and will be for years to come. MA might be a detestable character but the way DK has approached the problems have added to them.

Basically I think its time those in charge of the club treat fans with respect and are honest about their plans for the club. DK promised spending so that people would buy season tickets, now that's done he comes up with a not now but later excuse.

For point of record the January transfer window is a harder and more expensive market than the preseason one- so where exactly are we going to find the players we can't find or afford now?

07 Aug 2016 13:45:05
He has spent cash upwards of 15 mil some fans need to chill out.

07 Aug 2016 13:57:30
No he hasn't. Directors loans is not investment. At some point he either gets his cash back or shares in club to the value. That isn't what he claimed he would do.

Am I really the only person who sees that DK is part of the problems of the club, not the solution?

07 Aug 2016 14:01:08
He has spent? what amount omg where are you getting these mythical figures from? stop the lies please. At present i can only assume he has spent money on shares? but this is not clear due to him de-listing as is most of the other things he appears to do all done in the dark and not an open forum and perhaps 5mill under the name of the 2 guys form Hong Kong but that would be in "money laundering" if was his funds. due to him telling the South African tax man he was skint? he wouldn't would he?

07 Aug 2016 14:05:20
If you actually read the full statement he states I don't think we are finished yet and we will keep money aside for January as well meaning more might be signed if the right players there and the magic hat wants them and strengthen in Jan if needed too people need to read rather than scanning over it and spouting drivel your point may well be correct long term however let's see what happens in this transfer window ( still 3 weeks approx to go) and then Jan too.

07 Aug 2016 14:06:47
Said at the start of all this I was told at POTY we were to spend 4 million all in. Given what we've got and yes i agree a CH shouldve been priority i'd say we've probably spent all that on agents fees, signing on fees for free transfers and the comp payments for players.

Lack of merch sales has left us majorly short.

07 Aug 2016 14:07:15
Mr. Nice who would you have incharge? Dave king has been a revelation since coming in, after all the crap that our club has came through most of it from the inside how can you not see the good work now being done. Would you rather someone like green, whyte or a representative of the fat man running us or would you like us just to fail. I love this club and no matter who we play the moment it kicks off I believe and I can't help it but that is why I love them and long may it continue.

07 Aug 2016 14:14:40
Bearwithasorehead well said mate .

07 Aug 2016 14:50:58
Please acquaint me with where King has invested £15m? All I see is Directors loans and most of that from the three bears and then some funds from overseas supporters.

We are a side right now that is in desperate need of a quality centre back, not a geriatric that we have brought in and we need a striker. If it was across the City then, as has happened in the past, Desmond would fund a player or a loan signing of quality but all we get from King is bullshit. He is becoming as bad as Murray and his moonbeams.

If he doesn't have the funds then it is better that he is honest with the support!

07 Aug 2016 16:15:16
Fairly typical of people on here- making personal attacks when they disagree.

For the record I am not uneducated- I have a master's degree. That doesn't make my view any more important.

It's not a case of who I'd like in charge, more a case of me questioning kings honesty, integrity and the way he has made the Ashley situation worse. But since you ask I would like a fan ownership model similar to what is being put place at hearts- fan owned not fan run.

Simple truth is no matter your opinion of king - he hasn't made the investment promised and he should be held to account and made to explain why. It's season ticket money and an empty squad that allowed all of our summer business - not his money like he promised.

Look at big picture- he lost his shares during administration and now has a controlling stake purchased on the cheap.

07 Aug 2016 16:18:24
Where would we be without king? We'd still be in the championship getting asset stripped by Ashley and his men. Give they guy a break.

07 Aug 2016 16:25:26
People really need to get a grip man, Simply stop supporting Rangers if yer just gony moan about everyfin aw the time, let Dave King do what he needs to do in his own time, instead of greetin about him no spendin any cash and moanin aboot everyfin else yous can think of.

07 Aug 2016 16:34:31
Hey Mr Nice, maybe it's time you took yourself off and supported another club?

REAL supporters offer support to their club in good times and bad - right now we're going through good times in comparison to the past few years and that is all down to the current board including DK.

It's easy to mouth off opinions but it would be more readable if you actually looked at some of the facts, read the statements and looked at the progress.

Take the doom and gloom elsewhere - if you ain't happy put your own money in!

07 Aug 2016 17:12:41
Mr nice, that's the worst post iv read on here, King has invested millions, as for starting a war with Ashley what planet are you on, this board are in a battle with him because of the shocking contracts that green gave him, thank god the Dave King and Paul Murray are there, they are doing a great job, do you not realise that rangers have been stripped bare, and this board is slowly turning things around on and off the park.

07 Aug 2016 17:14:53
King has spent money, just not in transfer fees, he has spent it on the far more important matter and that is fighting back against Ashley. Until Mike Ashley is out of our club we will never be self sufficient, if we cannot generate income then we cannot spend. We are not an EPL club, we don't have a Russian or a Sheik, we don't have a multi million pound tv deal. Our main sources of income over the years are season tickets, merch and European football, two of these have not been available for years and will not be available for at least this season. No real money will be spent until Mike Ashley has been removed from our club. And why hasn't Mr King commented on this. he legally can't.

07 Aug 2016 17:27:33
Fans need to realise that we nearly never had a club to support let the manager do what he's doing and I guarantee we will have a team that's special.

07 Aug 2016 14:08:24
Couldn't agree more mr. nice. Unfortunately the vast majority on here see King as a hero for some reason.

07 Aug 2016 14:28:03
Gary75 he's on the wind up.

07 Aug 2016 12:54:33
Joleon lescott being released by villa, that would be a very good guy to shore up the defense, night be too costly, but had a good career and just may fancy going for Europe with Rangers, ? May just be a target.

07 Aug 2016 13:24:46
Please no.

07 Aug 2016 13:32:28
The guy is rubbish, have to do better than that.

07 Aug 2016 13:43:48
Read DK statement- we aren't signing anyone else, especially someone on a big wage.

Of course, there will be money to spend in January - another lie.

07 Aug 2016 18:09:06
Thought he said he would be very surprised if we didn't get someone else in before the end of the month?

Then went on to say we will also look at our position in January?

07 Aug 2016 20:03:58
the guy is far better than wht we have not scared to tackle and can win a ball in the air unlike the 💩we have the now.

07 Aug 2016 14:49:06
I heard lesscotts name mentioned to me on Friday from a guy on the building site I work on, but I can't see that happening with wages again being the main obstacle plus he can be a bit of a bomb scare at times, but he could probably do a job for us.

07 Aug 2016 12:44:14
People need to stop panicking we have had hardly any pre season and it's one game. We used to be slow starters remember 86/ 87 season souness had just came in with big signings we were 2 nil up at half time then Kevin Gallagher scored a hatrick against us in the second half but at the end of that season we won the league for the first time since the 70's so let's not worry too much we will come good and there are a lot of games to play until the end of the season.

07 Aug 2016 12:58:35
Gary75

Big difference from then till now. At that time we easily out spent Celtic however times have drastically changed and they have already spent over £5m with more signings to follow.

07 Aug 2016 13:06:07
We also had a cb called terry butcher who was argubaly the best in europe now we've got cbs that aren't even the best in the league. hope your proven right tho mate.

07 Aug 2016 13:38:29
Well players now are over priced and our gaffer has proved that he knows how to get value for money and King has said that there will be more signings.

07 Aug 2016 13:47:04
That's not really what he said. Smoke and mirrors from king as usual.

He message behind his statement was we aren't spending money, but there will be some in January. Essentially exactly the same excuse he used I'm last transfer window.

Aside from a bargin basement signing, our business is over.

07 Aug 2016 14:00:15
Ps its not one bad game - limped over the line in championship. Our form in last third of season was awful.

07 Aug 2016 17:51:15
Given the lack of funds Warburton has done a remarkable job but when you are taking risks with players there are always one or two that just won't work and sadly in our case they just seem to be in defence! We will get one almighty hammering off someone if Kiernan and Hill are the best that we can put in the centre of our defence!

There is only so long that you can continue playing players because of their commitment last season when they are unable to make the step up to the top league.

07 Aug 2016 14:01:56
Two to come in before transfer window shuts he also said.

07 Aug 2016 12:09:12
Starting to think that perhaps the signing of Clint Hill was a mistake and this has nothing to do with his performance yesterday as I thought he did OK. I just think that we would have been better off using his wages to get a CB who will play every week as we have Crooks to come back and who can play CB if there are any injuries to Kiernan, Wilson and the 3rd CB. Not trying to tell the Hat his job but do we need 4 out and out CB, s in the squad when we clearly don't have much cash.

07 Aug 2016 13:07:38
Not claiming to have seen to much of crooks but what i have seen he looks to good a footballer to b wasted at cb.

07 Aug 2016 11:17:48
Guys I think we need to realise we have stepped up a division and respect the challenges of where we are. Yesterday was a disappointing result and we probably deserved to shade it 2-1. Predict we will be better on Tue and next week we have a massive challenge at Dundee (forget that we cuffed them last season in cup) . MW has said squad will be rotated on Tue so will be very interesting to see how we line up against Dundee. Personally I think Niko should be used as an impact player from the bench. Assuming Windass and Crooks not yet match fit I would play Harry (Niko), MOH (Waggy) against Dundee. If Dodoo shapes up on Tue would also play him ahead of Miller. Relax, this is a marathon not a sprint.

07 Aug 2016 11:40:00
Let's not forget mw hands are tied. he's barely been able to spend any money. Only picking mostly free transfers. You only have to look at celtic bringing in scott sinclair to realise king has to splash the cash now on a cb and striker.

07 Aug 2016 11:47:12
Four years ago we were told to be grateful we still had a club. Then we were told to be patient. I think we've been both and yesterday was about expectation. Marathon runners like to get off to a good start too.

07 Aug 2016 11:51:02
Hooly78

To a certain extent your right but he has had much more money to spend than Aberdeen and Hearts however in comparison to Celtic yes your right. I will be extremely difficult to compete with them and I'm sure Sinclair won't be the last signing for them.

07 Aug 2016 12:04:16
Sadly don't believe Dave King or whoever is putting money into Rangers will put money in for transfer fees it will go on more wages for any other players we do bring in (frees) if any and getting us through the season and hoping for a European place next season. Not trying to be negative after only one poor game but unless we unearth a couple of gems in the next couple of weeks or Harry and all of the new younger lads get a chance and exceed expectations greatly then "going for 55" doesn't seem very realistic this year-would love to be proved very wrong though.

07 Aug 2016 12:41:44
I think he will spend on transfer before the window closes, just a feeling that is what we are holding back on till before the end of the window.

07 Aug 2016 11:10:59
How does the team line up against Dundee?

Foderingham

Tavernier--Keirnan--Wilson--Wallace

Barton--Rossiter--Forrester

O'Halloran--Dodoo--McKay

Maybe have Forrester out right, take Dodoo out and have O'Halloran up front, then put Holt or Windass in the middle with Barton and Rossiter.

Is it a given that Kranjcar won't be starting? Have a strong feeling MW might well stick with Hill, Halliday and Miller.

07 Aug 2016 11:23:45
Wilson and Kiernan don't work.

07 Aug 2016 11:34:28
Neither do Hill and Keirnan clearly.

Who do we start with?

New signing and Wilson would be the obvious choice, but MW did say we would get one before Hamilton. And unless they're signed before Tue/ Wed, no way a new CB is starting.

07 Aug 2016 11:49:33
it worked against celtic.

07 Aug 2016 11:53:10
Thorn76

Yeah I do understand where your coming from and Hill isn't the answer. As you say unless we get someone in early part of week then it looks like Wilson and Kiernan for Saturday.

07 Aug 2016 12:48:35
Gilks

Hodson
Wilson
Hill
Waldo

Barton
Rossiter
Windass if fit if not Harry

MOH
Dodoo
Mckay.

07 Aug 2016 11:10:59

07 Aug 2016 19:36:00
I like that team. Energy and pace, exactly what we lacked 1st game.

07 Aug 2016 11:09:27
Warburton will hopefully see that Kranjcar and Halliday need to be replaced with Rossiter, Forrester or Holt. Kranjcar and Halliday's work rate yesterday was awful, I'd have Holt/ Forrester and Rossiter in there all day long. Starting XI against Dundee should be:

Foderingham
Tavernier
Hill
Wilson
Wallace

Barton
Rossiter
Forrester/ Holt

McKay
Dodoo
O'Halloran.

07 Aug 2016 15:05:05
Given the lack of funds available to him from King, Warburton will always have to take risks with his transfers and Hill for me is a disaster. That is a problem because we are in desperate need of a quality centre back. For that reason and until we get a quality centre back, (or Crooks is fit), I would shift Wallace into the Middle and play Hodson at left back.

I wouldn't play McKay and I know that is controversial but I don't think he is going to hack it in this league unless he gets a dose of courage!

I would start with Forrester on one wing and MOH on the other with Barton, Rossiter and Holt behind themed them and either Windass, (if he is fit), or Dodoo in the centre of the attack.

07 Aug 2016 10:07:26
Sorry didn't see you had mentioned he was on loan . Let's see how hardie does at st mirren before we have him starting in front of dodoo and MOH.

07 Aug 2016 09:35:48
If Waghorn is out for any length of time could Warbs recall Hardie from his loan? Seems crazy that we are banging on about not having a centre forward when young Hardie has been scoring goals for fun. Surely he deserves a chance? As for yesterday, Miller must be at best a sub this season and the same goes for Kranjcar. We need Rossiter to start the next game and the sooner Windass and Crooks are fit they should be given a chance too. Team v Dundee:
Foderingham; Tavernier, Crooks, Wilson, Wallace; Barton, Rossiter, Windass; Forrester, Hardie, Mackay.

07 Aug 2016 10:05:01
Doiger, hardie is on loan at st mirren! We were told a few weeks ago we had signed a striker who could well be worth millions yet plenty of you don't have him in your starting 11! Strange! Plus holt needs to start. Barton and rossiter too similar.

07 Aug 2016 10:12:51
DOIGER Totally agree with you on young Hardie infact i just summited a post on Rumour site saying basically the same thing amongst other things and some News, just waiting on it being reviewed and hopefully put up, i personally would of Kept Hardie in the first place ahead of Miller and before waghorns injury aswell, i know he has done a lot for us but Hardie should of been ahead of him with Miller coming off bench in certain games.

07 Aug 2016 10:27:15
From what I've read Crooks is a midfielder. Yeah he's tall but look at Matic at Chelsea, got the height but that doesn't mean he can easily slot into the back line. I can't see Warburton recalling Hardie and you're being a bit generous saying he's been scoring goals for fun. I remember when Clark was doing that for QOS and then what happened? Playing for Rangers is a different ball game.

I agree with much of what you say but I think O'Halloran must be a starter for us and Miller is so off the boil he's lucky to make the bench. He's been a great servant and all that but come on, so far past his prime now and it shows. We all shouted out for a centre back and striker and we hear about how tight the market is down south. Any other countries in the world we could have even considered? Maybe Scotland even, a Cummings, a Stewart?

07 Aug 2016 10:45:13
We"re going on about young hardie as if he's super ally in his pomp. he scored a couple on loan last year now we seem to think he's the answer to go to places like tynecastle, pittodrie the pigory etc and get us goals. don't build up the young guy then when it doesn't work out we"re all on here kicking up.

07 Aug 2016 10:48:15
Do you think MW is stupid for Christ's sake? Hardie is clearly not good enough/ ready! Have you ever seen the lad? Not trying to be harsh but he looks like a boy!

07 Aug 2016 11:12:39
I put Hardie in my suggested team out of sarcasm and to make a point. Good comment about Holt. I thought he did well last season. Has he been injured?

07 Aug 2016 11:36:34
Hardie has played 16 senior games, all in the Scottish Championship. He's scored 8 goals. It's a good record so far but not a tried and tested one. If he was to be recalled and didn't perform within a couple of games he'd be back in the 'development' squad. If he stays on loan and continues his good scoring form this season then he might come back as a good striker for next season.

07 Aug 2016 09:31:57
For me HOLT has to start . Provides a goal threat from midfield and had a great season last year. Miller should be used as a sub coming on for the last 20 mins when defenders are beginning to tire. Why sign dodoo and not give him a run of games? Halliday shouldn't start either, he's so out of position at times it is frightening. Lots for MW to sort out!

07 Aug 2016 10:34:30
I think because of the occasion yesterday it was right for Miller to start but Dodoo has to start a few matches now. After all, that's why him and Rossiter came here, not to sit on the bench whilst we're struggling to perform all over the park! Sad to see Waggy injured but imo he's been very poor, can't play on the right as he is so one-footed and too predictable. Finishing has been woeful too! Mckay on the left too is too predictable. When he's getting 1v1 against so many defenders in so much space why so few goals and assists? Because he has to cut back every time and usually wastes the pass. Forrester, Windass, Holty and MOH need to get a run of games!

07 Aug 2016 12:05:49
Holt seems to me the easy option for the gaffer to drop yet he's argubaly the most effective midfielder. e. g-scores goals, gets abt the park and doesn't take abt 5 extra touches like halliday. halliday seems bombproof because he's a badge pumper.

07 Aug 2016 13:41:02
agree with Bluedie on Halliday - he is a good player but not a certain starter every week if we want to win SPL.

Accies were far too comfy 1st half yday as our tempo was all wrong. I'm not 100% sure of AHs best position as rossiter and barton are more natural defensive midfielders and holt forrester windass are more attack minded so not sure where exactly AH best fits in, but he does have a part to play for us.

Just a quick point on holt he was my player of the season last year tireless worker, great engine but it's his positional sense, darting runs, first touch and goals which are the key key for an attacking mid. I believe he's had a slight knock but really hope he's fit as we missed him yday.

07 Aug 2016 09:30:40
Thought the introduction of harry forrester especially on the hour mark gave us more direction and drive and what an exquisite pass for waggy to equalise, forrester gives our team umph and direction and takes players on and creates excitement every time he's on the ball, he's also not afraid to shoot which I like in him, he should now be getting a starting berth in our team as he gives us another pure attacking dimension, thoughts fellow bears?

07 Aug 2016 09:42:51
From yesterdays performances i'd say forrester and moh should be starters.

07 Aug 2016 10:39:55
I rated him as one of our best players last year and even more so now. He offers something different and is a real threat as you say. I think Windass too will be useful in a similar way as he's direct, athletic, has good range of passing and will chip in with goals!

07 Aug 2016 11:05:33
Strange thing about Forrester is that he has actually played better this season coming on as a sub. However think he has to start his attitude is first class and for a small guy he gets stuck in. Wish we had a few more with his attitude and ability the pass to set up the goal was sublime.

07 Aug 2016 10:23:45
Agreed. His first thought is to drive into the box and shoot. I just wish McKay would have more belief in himself and do the same. He frustrates the life out of me at times.

07 Aug 2016 09:24:01
Lack of chances?

16 on target.

I'd be worried if we were not creating any chances, didn't have pops at goal. Some of the newer guys, and older ones, got a shock yesterday by the demand the fans will have. Its upto them if they go to strength or fall into their shell.

Waghorn as a striker, Miller as a back up. Miller won't run in behind and his distribution has always been poor. He's always played well turning behind a defence and doesn't do that anymore. Whether or not its because he can't or won't we need that.

MW is the best thing that's happened to us and i still can't understand how we actually got him to come here, to say all this negative sh*te after one game is nonsense.

07 Aug 2016 10:59:27
Where did you get the 16 on target from?

07 Aug 2016 11:02:02
How is MW the best thing that's happened to us? Are you rating him better than all the previous managers and some of the wonderful players that have played for us? Think your being way over the top about a manager who hasn't won a major trophy yet or the league title.

07 Aug 2016 11:08:18
Super Ally

While I disagree with a lot of your post I totally agree about players not understanding the demands of the crowd and taking them by surprise.

07 Aug 2016 11:22:08
SA, don't know where you get 16 on target from! The Hamilton goalkeeper had about 2 saves to make all game.

07 Aug 2016 12:06:37
10 Shots sorry, 4 saves and 6 blocked.

He plays expansive football and has unearthed some decent players on a next to nothing budget, in recent years he is the best thing yes, given what we've had over the last 5 years.

Honestly what do you want us to do, spend money we don't have again aye. No retail revenue means we have to work in a very constricted budget and i'll admit some of it shouldve been used on a CH. But we needed squad depth and experience as well.

07 Aug 2016 13:51:25
No, we want DK to honour his promise to invest his money. He made the promise. On several occasions.

07 Aug 2016 09:36:08
Im in agreement with you super ally. I didn't think we played that badly. A couple of scary moments in defence. To many negatives on here regarding our performance and individual players. People have to get behind our team and not only sing when we're winning.

07 Aug 2016 08:03:41
Disappointed but not surprised with yesterday's result. As everyone knows the main area's of concern are a no nonsense experienced CH and an experienced strong CF who can lead the line and get into the box to finish the chances we are creating.
I think we need to spend decent money to get these positions filled - whether we have that money or not, I don't know but if we are as ambitious as DK says we are, two players that fit the bill would be Luuk de Jong (PSV) maybe out of our league but a fantastic striker who is not afraid to put himself in the mix and can score goals and a cheaper option to strengthen CH Bougherra.
? .?
I was the first to slate Tav for his defensive displays last year but I thought he was excellent yesterday.

What about this for a team bears -

Fod
Tav . Crooks . Bougherra . Wallace
Rossiter . Barton
Windass
Dodoo. De Jong. Forrester.

07 Aug 2016 08:42:08
RFC111 - Agree to a point however, we are not creating that many chances! . Nothing we saw yesterday should come as a surprise to anybody, who has followed and watched over the past year or so. Take 5 minutes and watch the Liverpool Barcelona friendly, -. Like the Rooney's testimonial, it's speed, power, and NO tippy tappy, football has moved on, . We unfortunately haven't and don't have money to make the difference.

07 Aug 2016 09:16:03
One game, we're at panic stations.

We work within our means, and if someone told me we'd be playing the football we've been playing 4 years ago i wouldve p*shed myself laughing.

Wilson is a key defender for MW, he wants a partner for him if anything. Changing the heart of the backline is just a disaster waiting to happen, a settled assured head beside Wilson and a fully fit Joey Barton and i'd be confident in that defence.

07 Aug 2016 10:43:24
You know you're getting desperate when you're trying to pass Boogie off as a "no nonsense" centre-half! The guy is a fricking maverick :-D.

07 Aug 2016 11:57:46
Depressed reading some of these posts, so negative it's one game for goodness sake. And before you give me we are all entitked to opinions, I get that. Rome wasn't built in a day it takes a bit of time. Let's just remember where we were coming from with poorer players and a dreadful playing style, transformation has been incredible so far, we will have some sticky times but let's stay together support the board, management and players and let's have a bit of patience . 😩.

07 Aug 2016 10:51:04
Super Ally

we were almost beaten by Hamilton at home

Was even the draw acceptable?

07 Aug 2016 04:38:43
Was at the game today. Reminding myself that it's now the premier league we are in. Formation didn't work. Niko was off the pace. Miller not effective, waggy out of position, full backs not getting forward. Wee Baz looked laboured.
Hamilton are a no bad team, beat the tic at parkheed last season remember.
We'll get it right and be READY.

07 Aug 2016 09:12:54
Miller has been off the pace for several years so he is not the answer to our main striker role but could come on for the last 30 minutes. To break down stubborn defences flair players like Forrester, MOH could start and play Waghorn up front as main striker.
Its only one game so let's not get carried away by the doom and gloom merchants. With a couple of good signings we could be the real deal. On a side note the special buses to Ibrox yesterday were an absolute shocker, got on the bus at Copland Road and an hour and fifteen minutes later we were dumped in Jamica Street.

07 Aug 2016 00:13:39
Onwards and upwards. Who should def keep the jersey and who do you think will drop out? Personally I'd have Forrester in for Niko, MOH replacing Waggy, Rossiter must start and although Joey was good in the tackle his distribution wasn't the best and gave a lot of 10yd passes away, his longer passes were ok, I'd be tempted to rest him OR bench Halliday for Rossiter. I'm trying not to be negative but a few prob don't deserve to keep jersey and I hope that's how MW rolls. Barry McKay must be encouraged to go past his man even if he loses the ball, cut back way too much today. Wilson will no doubt come back in.

07 Aug 2016 00:29:33
I rate Mckay but I would honestly bench him, for all the talent he has his attitude on the pitch or belief in his own ability are lacking at times. Even the way he conducts himself in interviews I just want to give him a good shake and scream, YOUR GETTING PAYED TO PLAY FOOTBALL PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE!

Feel like he needs the shock of being benched for a couple. Would go with Dodoo, O'halloran, Forrester and maybe get Holt back in the action if fit enough. Barton and Rossiter definitely start for me, no Halliday or Kranjcar.

07 Aug 2016 07:12:57
foderingham
tav kiernan Wilson wallace
rossiter
Barton halliday
moh dodoo mckay

if windass was fit I would play him ahead of dodoo and crooks for kiernan.

07 Aug 2016 08:08:42
Cee

If you replace Dodoo with Windass then your playing without a centre forward. Is that really the way you want to go?

07 Aug 2016 08:34:49
waghorns injured, miller is a man down. windass can play upfront personally I would have kept hardie and given him a chance or bought hemmings. time is running out and I fear for what striker we may end up with.

07 Aug 2016 02:10:02
McKay may be a good player with the ball at his feet, but I feel he is a wee rubbish bag when it starts to get a bit rough (competitive) . I thought he pulled back a few times.
What we need to do is reduce the passing one touch possessive or security play and go for the killer approach, we do have the players that can play this way.

07 Aug 2016 06:55:28
Dodoo unproven yet but with waggy injured he is the only real replacement and no halliday come on if warbs would stop playing him out of position he would be fine. Personally for me niko and kiernan can be benched.

06 Aug 2016 23:47:00
Is this the way it'll go after every poor performance this season?

Have a go at the players.

Have a go at the gaffer.

Have a go at fellow fans.

In that order. Players will be judged first, no doubt, whether it's right or wrong.

The gaffers been judged for starting Kranjcar and Miller, not starting Forrester and O'Halloran.

The fans start being judged by fellow fans for not staying until the end or not singing all game.

07 Aug 2016 07:15:24
it's going to be a long year but we have to stay behind the team, Hamilton were descent Gillespie, devlin and imrie played the games of there careers. I remember teams with Davis, mendes, jelavic etc. drawing against teams like Inverness and motherwell etc. the results will come and we will push celtic and Aberdeen all the way.

07 Aug 2016 08:12:05
I thought Hamilton were very average and don't see them being anywhere near top 6. Thought we were very slow and laboured going forward and it's easier to defend against a team playing this way. Only really caused them problems when Forrester came on, he upped the pace and starting running at their defence. Something McKay failed to do.

07 Aug 2016 09:26:02
Fans SHOULD stay until the end. It's only 90mins man. Just wait until the final whistle. It really bugs me, you wouldn't walk out of a concert while a performer was playing their last song. I don't get it. It's disrespectful. I'm desperate for games and when they come, I want to savour every last minute. That's just me tho. The pub/ travel can wait.

With regards to singing. It's near impossible to sing for 90mins. Hats off to the lads that do. I sit near them and do my best. But sometimes I'm so fully immersed in the game, (with nerves most of the times) that I can't muster up a song. But again that's just me.
