You can just tell that Dorrans is a Bear and loved watching him celebrate! After watching him I think it would be a brilliant idea to eventually make him Captain but the sooner the better.
Also think that Windass really wants to show the Support he is a Player! But as Pedro says he needs to take care of the defensive side of his game.

See waghorns off as well a tad worried from what I seen yesterday from our current strikers don't seem better than what we had, Herrera does the same as garner use to do barge into players but least garner found the net on occasion hope there another proven goal scorer in this window and I don't mean walker even tho I take him as well great result yesterday and great save at the end from wes saved us dropping 2 points.

Judging a player from 1 competitive outing is ludicrous. Imagine teams gave up on diego forlan when he couldn't score for man Utd in what was it? 30 games or something? He then went on to win the world cup golden boot and best player awards as well as regularly scoring over 15/ 20/ 25 goals a season for Villarreal and athletico Madrid.

Ped MAY have Abella lined up but its down to getting a work permit and I don't know if that would be straight forward. I do think Hodson is an adequate replacement but he does not offer an attacking threat.
How much do we think Warbs would offer for Tavs that would turn our eye? For me a bid of around 1.5m would prob do it and I think that's about how much Abella would cost (I think)

Moult could be good for us if he cleaned up his act. I like the rough and tumble target men who can actually play a bit and Moult certainly fits the bill. Walker? Yes, all day long. I think he will do very well for us.

5 Lessons learned
We were very lucky, need to tighten up at back
Wes in danger of being nicknamed Dracula - terrified of crosses
Herrera - seen milk turn quicker- need to give him service if he has any chance of scoring
Our fitness was better- lasted 90 mins
We would have drawn/ lost that game last season
With the cash from Waggy, need to get a striker on board ASAP. Hibs game will be a cracker- looking forward to a packed Ibrox!

Can't help thinking however the way we line up now would suit garners style of play but onwards n upwards. Get a good moral boosting win on Wednesday and hammer hibs on Saturday. Three tough opening league games. If we get full points I'll be delighted with that.

For me, Morelos must get a start against dunfermline, he must be itching to show what he has to offer and for some reason ped won't give him a lot of minutes, i have the feeling ped will stick with herrera though just to see if he can finally get a goal and lift his confidence a bit, with windass aswell, i think i would keep him as a second half player, bring him on at half time because for me he was exhausted after one half yesterday

Morelos almost got himself in trouble with the ref on his debut against the Luxembourg mob, putting his head into the defenders face. He was then subbed off for the second half of the match. I imagine he has been disciplined behind closed doors for his actions and warned that sort of behaviour is not what the manager needs.
Thats probably why Herrera had the nod over him for the opener, just reading between the lines I could be wrong.

Would like to see Rossiter or Barjonas involved. I understand the whole playing our strongest team but some of our so called back up players should be good enough to take on Dunfermline!

Don't see why we should rest players this early in the season I say go strongest 11 get the 3 points in the bag by half time then with 20 30 mins to go give Pena morelos and rossiter a run out build their fitness plus this team is geling gives the team more minutes together anything else is a bonus I'm not under estimating Dunfermline either they have a solid championship side and will prove a bit tricky just hope we score early on and kick on from their also yesterday first half up to their goal which was sloppy on our part we where attacking down both flanks with purpose and looked dangerous from all over the park best first half in a league game I can remember and it's early doors only gets better from here.

Been having a chat with some of the Notts F fans, they won first game 1 0 but it appears they could have lost 3 or 4 goals, there appears to be questions about the defence, and how the midfielders give the ball away so cheaply. There is also concern about the system that leaves the lone striker completely isolated from the midfield, any of this sound familiar bears?
I hope forest fans don't get the "we will learn from this treatment".

I watched the highlights on youtube to see Mckays goal and that was exactly what happened going from them. The only highlights for Notts was Mckays goal followed by Millwall missing chance after chance after chance.

I agree with posts about needing a decent keeper, but for all we know we may already have one? Problem is that second and third choice keepers don't get the opportunities they need to show how good they might be. Surely before spending anything, Alnwick and Kelly should be given serious game time, only then will we know.

Not a rumour just a suggestion. With around a million coming I'm for Waghorn why not go for Louis moult and Chris Cadden from Motherwell the 2 would cost around a million. Cadden is great up and down the wings and he could also provide cover for Right back and moult is s proven scorer in Scotland.

Agree with your sentiment ally however, I don't feel we are quite at that point yet. The two players gs mentioned would imo be good additions to our squad, both being proven at this level, which is where we are operating, this season anyway. Moult is a very good out ball and focal point and Cadden can't half put a good ball in the box.
On a side note, I have watched our pre season games and thought yesterday wasn't a patch on them. Not sure if it was nerves or what but you can't tell me that (no disrespect meant) Motherwell are a better team than those three teams?
A couple of more wins and I think you may just see us relaxing a bit and starting to take these kind of games in our stride as I believe the ability is there.

walker scored 15 last year and set up even more and that's a whole lot better than waggy did. but i'd take what we can get and pay hearts the money i know they need money but we need a winger as candias didn't look up to much yesterday.
i know he was dirty against us but moult would be a good shout for us.
if we get moult and walker i'd fancy usd finishing within 9 points of them but without them i'm not sure.

It's just my opinion and I know I'll get shot down for it but I'm still suspect about big Wes. Yes he made a great save towards the end and has made some good saves throughout his time at the club but modern day goalkeeping is a lot more than just shot stopping. I think his commanding of his area especially the 6 yard box is poor - example see yesterdays goal and his positional sense at times isn't poor - see both semi final goals against Celtic. Don't know anything about Alnwick as a keeper but I think a new keeper should be considered, at the right price obviously.

The cross from Motherwell is one of the best you'll find this season. Not many Goalkeeper would have came from that cross it would be way to risky. If its anyones fault its hodson's he let heneghen get in-between him and cardoso.
On a side note i thought Wes came out for more crosses and looked more comfortable than he did all last season.

I agree with James, although Wes played well last season, his command of his box is poor he won't leave his line for anything, maybe some coaching in this area would help him, it would make him a better keeper, great save at the end though

So we've now played and won our first league game, away from home. I was at the match, incidentally. Tonight I've been on various Gers sites and the general opinion seems to be that we were great, we did quite well, we were poor or we were rotten (honestly) .
And according to all the experts, we'll be fine once we get a new goalkeeper/ right back/ left back/ attacking midfielder, striker, left winger/ Naismith, Walker and maybe Stevie May or Moult. If there was a trophy for the most fickle, hyper-critical, whimsical fans we'd be world champions. Today we were not bad at all and we're getting better.

I watched game again this morning and we did ok. Defensively we were poor and will be punished by a better side. Windass is as good as McKay and at least goes forward we just need to score goals. For all his effort I do think miller is a weak link as does not have the passing ability of some and a poor control. Morales needs game time starting against pars to get goal and confidence

Majority of the game we played well, however how motherwell never scored in the last 10mins of the game is beyond me, they should have scored. We were very edgy and all over the place in the last 10min, that has to improve as the better spl sides would have scored no bother against us in that situation. Big wes, great shot stopper but needs to command his area. Should have came for that ball and if he does, they don't score. Yip we should have been at least 4 up if we took our chances. but as I said the defending has to improve, no doubt. Great win tho.

Three pre-season friendlies and one SPL match and three wins out of four. Main concern must be goalscoring, just like last season. Maybe Garner could/ should have stayed but let's give the new strikers a chance. We could/ should have scored five or six against Motherwell. I'd like to see Rossiter fit and playing and yet again, what about Hardie if the goals aren't flying in? As long as we gub Lennon next week!

This is the best football I've seen from a Rangers team for a long time. On today's evidence if Pena and Morelos turn out to be good then with a few additions we will be back somewhere close to where we want to be. It will still take a transfer window or 2 with the same spending but here's hoping that we can continue to improve. It would be nice to get to a transfer window and say 'We need to spend the £ on two good quality transfers'. Oh remember that?!?
