Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

Rangers Future

Right lads, I have been watching all that's going on with us, seems to me that were heading back down the road we came from? Yes Green has got some cash.
To spend in September, why oh why buy old stock (Miller, Boyd). We have great chance for the next three years to build a young good team that is strong and cohesive, who cares if we lose 3 / 4 games on the bounce so be it, this is a chance to build a team that when built would smash any team in the SPL.
Were too quick to run back to the top at whatever formation and cost that entails and at the same time spend our way there (like we did before), rumours of players turning down 10,000 a week?? Were third division that's what every rangers fan voted for and now we think were too good for that league?
We have young players buy more young players in September. Rotate them, have a squad of 60 then we can pick the best of them, when we do start to move up the league! EPL teams have 60+ players on their books, we have time on our side keep the money in the bank and if a good young player comes along we have the fire power to buy! Were just going the same old road spend £10 for every £5 other teams spend crazy, if we had a good young team in there 20's say that team could go ten years being very strong add players here and there as we go lose players as we go. Buying into old stock just seems mad and saying Ranger's cash cow is back? And we do have some good young players let's help them not give them old stock that say were the senior players now play like we do??? .We've been there and done that, no player is bigger than the club and that's what you'll end up with. Ally has the experience to guide and Walter can help it's a no brainer??

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Op - i am missing something here, you don't want us to get into financial difficulties again but you want a first team squad of 60 players?

also

are you aware that it looks like we can only sign out of contract players after the summer transfer window closes (bit of doubt with the one year - 365 days embargo) so likely no transfer fees will be paid this year, only free transfers

one last thing - we did not all vote for 3 division, i know i certainly didnt vote for that, in fact there was no such vote

Agree3 Disagree5

That's a good post and right but I would ask you if you want to move on from the past and not to go down the same road as before then what is with all the hate or dislike to everyone else? Boycot this, kicking us that, Peter lawell this, spl, don't cross yourself ect?
The problem is you have the same ppl in place that led you where you are now just instead of Murray you have green. Think you guys need to start fresh and yes ally stood by and you love him but to be fair it is the only job he would be able to get as a manager, maybe in time he will be better, but he still has the same old attitude as do most fans it seems.
This is no bitterness or hate for rangers just an honest opinion and I think you guys should support your club and stop with all the boycott stuff (including green, and the leaders of the club) because your club comes off in a bad light. You fans say you are showing div3 how good of fans you are... So why not show all clubs and the world that your new club has a new attitude and welcomes ppl and the challenge of moving up? And not saying new club to have a go, it's just what it is because of the legends of rangers made you where you are and nobody else.

Agree13 Disagree8

I agree with the logic of having a good squad of young players who will gain experience as we move up the leagues but not 60 players! That's a bit much. We have a great opportunity to build a fantastic team and have to get behind even when they lose because it is all part of gaining experience

ed ; whats happend to the guy stella {The Ed039's Note - Played few games for reserves recently, nothing more to report)

Believable2 Unbelievable1

By my reckoning 30 players have run out for the first team so far this season and I thought we were only allowed 22. {The Ed039's Note - Under 21 players do not need to be registered, you only have to register players 22 years and over)

Agree3 Disagree1

@1) registered with who Ed?
Are you saying all our players below 22yo are not registered? {The Ed039's Note - An SFL club may register a maximum of 22 players over the age of 21 at any one time, and only those players may play unless you are taking advantage of the trialist rules. There is no limit to the number of players 21 years and under that you can play, hope that clears it up)

Scottish football might re-jig the numbers in the leagues but it will not improve the standard.
The tv companies will soon get tired of the lack of companies advertising and the viewing figures.
I know local identity is a problem but for simple economics certain mergers are necessary and 2 leagues formed with 14/16 teams per league.
One ruling body should be formed with at least a 50per cent cut in running costs.

Claims Alexander on £10k per week but want more than 1 year extension.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Rangers can't afford to give him such a contract for 2 years. I know he stayed with the club when he could have walked but going forward we can't pay those sort of wages anymore

Agree6 Disagree2

I have said before i would like to see the stats for shots on target v saves made by him, before everybody starts about his penalty saves just compare him to say the goalie, chris woods or sh@@ger, three great keepers from the past

JG

Agree2 Disagree4

Wouldn't include MacGregor in that list of 3. The other 2 were far better goalkeepers for Rangers and showed far more loyalty than MacGregor ever did

Rumour abounds that Ticketus solicitors challenging BDO regarding D&Ps selling of assets to Green and the putting of Assets beyond Creditors. Gen up, secretary at Glasgow offices of a liquidating company.

Believable19 Unbelievable18

Oh here we ago, haven't heard about Ticketus for a while. Are you Celtic fans running out of rubbish, so this week it is Ticketus,

Agree13 Disagree11

@1: how'd you know the OP is a Celtic fan? Oh, that's right, you just assume that anyone posting anything you don't like must be support Celtic.

Agree15 Disagree3

Op - so one wee secretary in an office somewher up a close says so and suddenly rumours abound, great post

JG

Agree2 Disagree5

You probably make a good point op. But I'm just bored of the subject. No one really knows what went on or is able to second guess. Why not wait and see.

Agree5 Disagree5

Poster 3. Why do you assume it is a "wee secretary", it might be the company secretary. Do you know how a corporate structure works? "wee secretary" what century are you living in?. Bet your wife has a great life. And anyhow, don't you think a PA would know what is going on, they have to be privy to all information to do their job!

Agree6 Disagree2

To poster 3 - you do realise this is a rumours website.....its a rumour!

Agree2 Disagree1

@2&5: Wee bit touchy there my friend! Think you'll find no1 asked the celtic supporter question no assumption there. and the op stated it was a seceratary not @3. its a banter page, if you don't like it away back to your own teams pages and get upset there. Oh and "Gen up" everything you read on here is the truth...

Agree0 Disagree3

@ 5 its called banter mate, remember that thing we are all here for,
I was responding to the the OP which said "a secretary" not CEO or managing director, now lighten up and remember
never assume anything - it only makes an ASS out of you and ME

JG

Agree1 Disagree1

@5 just ignore #3 posts mate! The guy is such a know it all and it's painfull having to read the guy's posts!
I would be more inclined to agree with #4's post, there is so much keek going around at the moment that has proved to be just that, keek!

Ryan McGowan signs 2 year contract at Shandong Luneng.

So story about signing a 10 month deal and possibly signing for Rangers on a free afterwards was more bullish*t from the local rags. Links today with Kenny Miller and mentions for Kris Boyd and Stevie Smith. Seriously? This is a chance for a fresh start, can we not move on and do without the has beens returning. I can live with Kenny Miller even though he will be almost 34 by the time he could sign but the other 2, give me a break will you.

Believable22 Unbelievable5

Don't put anything by ally, he signed cribari, black, Kyle and sandaza.

Morning all,

Have just read if league reconstruction goes ahead, we could win the league but still end up in the bottom tier of the revised leagues? Any thoughts?
Will Charles Green have any power with TV rights etc? Cannot see Sky being happy with us stuffed in the bottom again?

Believable12 Unbelievable16

Simples, as a meerkat would say. I the league is reconstructed on the 12 12 18 idea as looks likely, then you remain in the bottom eighteen when you win the league.

Agree16 Disagree4

So you want to leapfrog nine teams straight into the second league . unbelievable !!! shammy

Agree21 Disagree21

If it is implemented next season then wont make a difference to expected return to the top in 2015/16.
We had the 3rd, 2nd and 1st divisions to win or be promoted from anyway. I think we need the time to build the squad and 2015/16 will be included in any of Green's financial calculations.
The main thing I see is the tv rights money, Sky/espn wont leave RFC out of it and they might not be happy about showing top division games with poor viewer numbers instead of RFC away games with higher viewing figures.
Irrespective of the above the problem with scottish professional football is a lack of crowds/interest, the product and a continual attitude that we are better than what we really are. The per head of capita argument is only a calculation and paper value because at the end of the day you still need a higher population to produce players and spectators.
The spl has produced nothing since it started and needs changed. But do we need to rush thro changes to all of scottish football that may well end up producing a similar scenario to what we have.
Why no fan input when the directors of clubs were announcing how they listened to their fans last year?
Sounds like jobs for the boys.

Agree13 Disagree1

@2 classic tim comment. The op didn, t mention anything about 'leapfrog nine teams'. Tim version of events.

Agree22 Disagree9

2)maybe you want to read the definition of promotion.

Blueice

Agree9 Disagree3

No 2, dont worry i, l bring it up at the next meeting, when the people that matter will be there lol doug t.s.o

Agree9 Disagree1

Do we know what year this league reconstruction would take place?

Agree1 Disagree0

@2, where does it say we want to leapfrog 9 teams?

Agree9 Disagree2

It matters not what league were in. What matters is that it'll take us the same amount of promotions to get there. Who cares whether its 1, 2 or 3? If it ain't the top flight it amounts to the same. No big story.

Agree6 Disagree1

@2) stick to cleaning windows as your name suggests because you bring nothing to a Rangers Banter site but your continuos tedious rantings. Not once did the o/p mention leapfrogging any teams.Next season if we are in 2nd division old set up or 3rd division new set up we will just get on with it.

Agree15 Disagree4

@ 4, 6, 8, 10 . you win the league and end up playing in the same rubbish league next season as this season . and that does'nt bother you ? no point in you coming back to top flight, you've lost all your fight, people just do what ever they want to you, and you accept it.. shammy {The Ed039's Note - Shammy, make up your mind, you slagged someone for not wanting to stay in the bottom division through reconstruction, then you are slagging guys who are OK with it)

Agree5 Disagree9

@10 window cleaners use a chamois leather, sorry to bring that up but i had nothing else to continually, tediously rant about . shammy, or just for you chamois

Agree7 Disagree7

As far as Im concerned we are in the 4th tier now, with promotion we will be in the 3rd tier. League reconstruction means 3rd tier still but with more income. Dont see wat the problem is. CheltBlue

Agree5 Disagree1

Bit of an personic comment from a celtic fan. How will be be in the same division? We are currently in the 4th tier, and next season we will be in the thir tier, whether there be 4leagues or 3.

Agree6 Disagree0

@ shame-y if that is what is needed for the improvement of Scottish football then so be it. And sorry if were not on here crying about it. Is that what grips your rubbish the fact we are gettin on with our predicament with minimal fuss?

Agree7 Disagree1

The problem Green will have if reconstruction starts next season is pricing for season tickets. We have been told they will increase in price next season however if we are in the bottom league of 18 it will mean 1 less home game and games against the same teams as this year plus 10 from the current 2nd division. Would be difficult to significantly increase prices against those teams

Agree3 Disagree0

@16: a very good point. It will be interesting to see what the price structure is if the reconstruction happens that way. How will the fans feel about paying significantly more (possibly) for a similar product but less of it?

Agree2 Disagree1

@15 minimal fuss?? You are having a laugh are you lol boycott here and boycott there, how is that getting on with minimal fuss? God sake, dillusional or what! Lol {The Ed039's Note - Whats the problem with boycotts, did supporters of SPL clubs not threaten to boycott their own clubs and others who didnt reject Rangers from SPL? Hypocritical or what?)
