Hi folks, does anyone have any idea when the gaffer is due back?, see a lot of persons on Twitter talking about gardening leave and not getting his bonus, I take it is a load of nonsense?

{Ed039's Note - He is due back this week)

08 Jun 2016 10:28:52
Our pish mate, warbs and weir are building something here.

08 Jun 2016 13:39:05
99.999999% of Twitter is nonsense. It's a platform for idiots.

{Ed039's Note - And that's 100% truth)

07 Jun 2016 15:46:30
Holt and halliday will be squad players when the season starts imo.

07 Jun 2016 19:47:37
Dazzle I disagree on Holt but have never rated Halliday average at best but he knows how to play to the fans.

07 Jun 2016 22:59:21
I'm not sure it's fair to say he is over rated. The guy done his job last season and if not for one of our worst defence partnerships ever would have scored the winning goal in the Scottish cup final. To many negative people here.

08 Jun 2016 07:12:43
Read the post correctly, never said he's over rated I said I don't rate him, as for being negative Really it's about opinions but I suppose your one superseeds all opinions, my one us I've been following Rangers for 55 years Halliday is average and I just want good players at my club, seen the badge kissers come and go!

08 Jun 2016 10:30:40
Bit unfair on halliday, I'd take 11 Halliday, s anyday,100% commitment and pure passion, but I suppose we all see it differently.

08 Jun 2016 12:47:59
bongo I know its about opinions but just look at the old firm the guy bossed that midfield and that's the strongest midfield I've seen in years at ibrox. I think your unfairly judgmental.

he has had couple of bad games other than that he is one of the first names on the team sheet and I think the squad will be rotated especially in midfield.

07 Jun 2016 14:30:12
by by Ashley. #karma.

07 Jun 2016 15:48:04
I wish that was true but his deal remains.

07 Jun 2016 16:49:03
yes naz but its a start in the right direction. his business ethics are being laid bare for all to see.

07 Jun 2016 18:14:29
What difference will it make that everyone can see his business ethics if his contracts are perfectly legal and remain unchallenged by King despite his increasingly tired bravado in public?

07 Jun 2016 19:40:20
I see by your posts you never mention anything about the football side of things. I find that very strange all u seem to post is negative stuff about the club and it's board. I think we might have 1 are 2 john james on the rangers banter site. I wonder what name jack Irvine is posting with now.

07 Jun 2016 23:41:59
deecee Amazingly enough I learned today that his practices with his zero hour contract workers are even worse than I thought they were. A disgusting individual by any standards.

08 Jun 2016 07:59:46
Hooly the latest in a long line of wannabe Taggarts on here outing me as a 'fake fan'. Yaaawwwwnnnn.

08 Jun 2016 09:03:30
Pauline, the latest in a long line of posts criticizing Dave King. Yaaawwwnnnn. Try changing the subject now and again. Any opinions on potential new signings? How do you think Warburton did in his first season? Any timesacale on when all these Dave King inspired Doomsday scenarios predicted by yourself and a few others are going to materialize? So far we've heard about second administrations, players having to be sold to keep the lights on, King begging Ashley to buy him out as well as numerous other outlandish predictions. We are almost 18 months into Kings Chairmanship and there hasn't been a single sign of any of these things happening. I've said it before, people need to stop taking John James blogs as Gospel, the man is a toad and a rabid Celtic fan to boot. don't be fooled.

07 Jun 2016 11:29:49
I seen on the official website that young Rossiter captained Englands U19s against Mexico. With Holt and Halliday firm favourites with the supporters and the arrival of Barton where and when do you see him playing?

07 Jun 2016 11:58:14
I don't get what Holt and halliday being firm fan favourites has to do with anything, if there's better players then they should play.

07 Jun 2016 13:22:32
I didn't say that it did to be blunt.

Let me put it this way then, who will play in the midfield three?

07 Jun 2016 13:35:47
any team anywhere with a manager worth their salt will play the best 11.

however that being said our midfield will be rotating I think everyone will get their chance.

07 Jun 2016 13:36:59
Barton
Holt Rossiter

But there's still a lot of the transfer window to go so this is what I would go with currently.

07 Jun 2016 13:48:38
Where does Josh Windass fit in to all this as well? Also, Matt Crooks favoured position is central mid but dare say he will be utilised at the back.

07 Jun 2016 13:55:31
I would play Rossiter as the holding midfielder. I think Crooks will mostly play as a defender.

07 Jun 2016 14:56:23
It's the best problem to have, an abundance of talent in midfield. Last year we had to rotate between Law, Zalaleem and Shields off the bench, this year it will be Holt, Halliday, Windass and Rossiter rotating. Barton will start most games in my opinion. I think Crooks will play in defence to be honest, the fact that he can also play a bit will suit us.
Even the front line is looking hard to pick and another striker of genuine quality is surely still to come. Who knows who will start out of Mckay, Forrester, MOH, Waggy and Miller. I'm sure whoever we bring as the main striker will be the first choice as I think it will be someone of the calibre of Barton.
Add Taylor and another RB and GK to add competition and I'm confident we will be capable of a title challenge.

07 Jun 2016 23:00:15
I see Rossiter under Barton's guidance - as sub in same position- as he improves he'll get more game time. Halliday and Holt will keep their positions being subbed with the new signings, then the best man wins the starting 11 spot. Rossiter is a great asset for the future with Barton as his mentor.

08 Jun 2016 10:36:31
Please believe me rossiter won't be a sub, just wait and see how good this young boy is.

07 Jun 2016 10:42:18
see in the Daily Record that it says the Selik sold 41,000 season tickets and that they have put a cap of 52,000 on there season ticket allocation. Its like they sign Brendan Rodger and they all come out the wood work.

I would like to think that Rangers could reach 45,000 season tickets leaving 7,000 for public sale.

All in all I think that it is fair to say that MW and BR have both contributed their parts to bring alive Scottish Football. This will result in better players, better football, better support, better TV deals with Better Money.

Also on the money front, reading in the Evening Times about Rangers Retail.

It was saying about the old JJB Sports 5 year deal that Rangers used to have. That was work £48 million over 5 years, first year £18m up front payment with £7.5M per season over next 4 seasons with additional £3M a year in royalties man a would bite the hand off for that sort of deal just now, just shows how far we have really fallen, but once this mess is sorted, that is a major source of income to be regained.

07 Jun 2016 10:59:47
Agree . Our retail and sponsorship deal will be a welcome investment in the club.

07 Jun 2016 11:19:42
just hope we don't have to wait seven years to get rid of the fat rat.

07 Jun 2016 11:29:03
Agreed its been sadly missing for a long time. This is the major difference between ours and Celtics finances at the moment. Liewell is a master at getting great deals over the line, love him or hate him.

I'd like to see the directors getting a new retail deal/ supplier in place and displaying three different designs for each home, away and 3rd kits on the official site. Members of Club 1872/ Rangers TV could log in and vote for which kit we'll wear the following season. I think more fan engagement would boost sales of kits once we are free from Fat Cat Cashley. For years we have had pretty poor kit designs. For me the best supplier was adidas in the 90's, followed by Nike. Since then been pretty keek.

Thoughts?

07 Jun 2016 12:47:57
What about season ticket holders and guys and girls that turn up at games, what about guys and girls that bought shares? Surely they should get a vote before 1872 and Rangers TV subscribers!

07 Jun 2016 13:33:43
Nothing intended by not mentioning them. Merely forgot to. It would have to be a log in vote or the dims would be voting too and we'd end up with the worst of the three.

07 Jun 2016 20:58:31
M3LVO

Did we ever get that money? If so what did it go on?

08 Jun 2016 14:00:59
Murray Park
Ibrox
Dick Advocat
De Borthers
Flo
Mols
Albertz
Gabby Amato
Porinni
Negri

Need I continue get a grib of your self, are you even a rangers fan with a question like that!

07 Jun 2016 08:58:06
Great to see all the movement happening on the transfer front with the moves coming early just as MW said.

We wanted two new CB. Seems like we're going to get two new CB.

We wanted competition for GK. Seems like we're going to get a new GK.

We wanted an experienced, proven CDM. We've now got a new experienced CDM.

A new striker who can lead team with a new attacking midfielder could be great for the new season. Really looking forward to the year ahead for the club.

07 Jun 2016 10:33:09
Who are we linked to, is it all still free transfers?
And if it is free transfers, does anyone think Rangers will actually buy any players.

07 Jun 2016 10:43:18
We have bought Rossiter.

07 Jun 2016 10:47:26
Transfer market officially opens on Thursday so let's wait and see. Cost us 250k for Rossiter, so that's a fee.

If we want someone and its suggested we'll need to pay a fee i'm sure we will, unless there's an alternative free transfer.

Few more loans to come in as well.

07 Jun 2016 11:22:31
think rangers will have a sizeable squad next season just hope all the lads get on and we still have that tight knit squad of guys who will play for the gersey.

07 Jun 2016 11:26:11
Esteban Alvarado, the Goalkeeper we are linked to. still has a year to run on his contract. meaning there would be a transfer fee to get him.

07 Jun 2016 11:40:14
I very much doubt that we will see a summer transfer window where our club doesn't use all avenues for bringing players to the club whether it be other free transfers, loan deals or a permanent signing or two for players who's contracts haven't expired.

But it is fortunate that the players we've went for have been out of contract. Should the club have just not signed Barton, Rossiter, Crooks or Windass just because they are free transfers?

Think every fan would welcome their club spending as wisely as possible to get get as much success as possible. There's nothing wrong with being a bit tight fisted with money when it comes to transfers, especially at Rangers.

Forrester was a free transfer I believe.
O Halloran cost us money. Must there be better examples to show the benefits of free transfers.

07 Jun 2016 13:44:49
money will be spent in think in the region of between 5 and 10 million as mw has had great ambition and know yes free transfers are good to bolster the squad but I think the quality will come by spending money and we will find out who he has in mind.
I don't see us going through this process without buying in more quality. that being said I am very happy with the way things have been going! in warburton we trust.

07 Jun 2016 14:10:25
I never said there was anything wrong with getting players out of contract, I'm delighted with how the club is doing business, I was only asking fans opinions on do they think we will actually buy this window as iv got a feeling Celtic will spend big this summer and before anyone says anything, it's not what u spend it's how u spend it but it usually does get u a bit of quality.

07 Jun 2016 14:37:11
James no chance we will spend up to 10 million on players think you need to be realistic here mate.

07 Jun 2016 15:00:28
What Celtic do with their money is their business.

They've had an almost blank checkbook for the last couple of years and their most promising players to speak of up until now are Keiran Tierney, a player who came up through their youth system, Patrick Roberts who isn't their player, and Leigh Griffiths who is their only out and out goalscorer.

Money at a club means nothing if you can't identify the right players.

07 Jun 2016 15:51:20
Did u not read my post, it's not what u spend, it's how u spend, this is a banter page, where fans talk football.

07 Jun 2016 16:24:49
It's not what you spend its how you spend is obviously accurate.

To be honest I would love to see the club spend money on players who aren't just at the end of their contract and it will happen. Warburton has proven so far that he can work with a budget and I think if we expand his budget slightly, the quality of player he and his staff could identify for our club would top any club in Scotland, there's no doubt.

I think the players we've brought in so far were certainly our first choices though. Barton and Rossiter are remarkable captures for a combined fee of around quarter of a million. Two guaranteed starters who protect the back four for less than half a million. Outstanding.

07 Jun 2016 16:12:30
Playing budget is 4 million.

Exactly as above stated, its how you spend it not how much you spend. there's bargains to be had and i for one trust our manager 100% in the market. he's bound to get a few wrong but he's shown his shrewdness in the market. Signing of the decade has to be Frank McParland, hands down.

07 Jun 2016 17:16:40
I agree thorn76,warbs n weir have worked wonders with such a little amount of money and with the 4 signings so far it's all looking really good, if we could just get rid of greedy Ashley the club would be in such a healthy place, but one thing at a time, I'm desperate to buy a Rangers top but hopefully I will be able to buy some sooner rather than later.

07 Jun 2016 16:15:14
I was thinking before the season ended we will have to spend 5 to 10 million and I stick by that.
I trust in warburton but I think celtic will strengthen and to be in with a shout of winning the title, we will need a good sized squad with some real quality and considering we have just about the same amount of players we did last season we will need to yes be wise with our money, but we will have to spend to get another 6 to 8 quality players in including two cb, s cover for rb, cover for lb, midfield is strong enough but would like another rw and at least 1 more striker with real quality! its just my opinion! if we don't I think we won't win the title at first attempt!

07 Jun 2016 20:46:31
Im happy with what we have been doing so far but think to really compete we will need 1 or 2 signings up to 1mill but can't see us spending more. Considering all of mw signings so far in total is less than celtic paid for stefan scepovic i trust him.

06 Jun 2016 23:27:48
